TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by kweje:
Long Post - PPR for my Ward after 2 medical furtherances. March 22nd Applicant. I was more active in part 21. GOD DID THIS.

Visa approved after 6months+. We visited IOM thrice and was XRAYED thrice. Most people know of just one repeat X-ray making it twice. If during your medicals, they notice something suspicious on your X-ray, you are asked to do Sputum tests, Repeat Xray in 3months to rule out Tuberculosis. In our case, all sputum tests were negative, 2nd Xray did not find a trace of what 1st Xray mentioned, a Pulmonologist review was requested and cleared us of any TB suspicion, IOM Panel Physician also noted NO clinical or physical symptoms of TB.

Hopefully expecting medicals to be passed, we got another email to repeat Xray in 90days -ANOTHER 3 months. It was heart breaking. (We discovered that if the difference between the 1st & 2nd X-rays was significant, then they need a confirmation of the 2nd Xray- which in our case showed the lungs were perfectly clear).

Sharing this to help someone who might need it because i didn’t find any info while it was happening on this forum and the gurus i contacted had not seen a case like it.

Timeline:
March 21, 2022: Upfront medicals
March 22, 2022: Application submitted
March 24, 2022: Biometrics (updated same day)
March 22nd - 24th, 2022- Sputum tests

May 4, 2022 : Noticed medical review had started, I emailed IOM to ask my ward’s result and was told they were not ready and had not sent to IRCC because the last test was still running. (On research i found out that, this happens when IRCC wants to issue a medical request but because you are on a furtherance, they cant pass the medicals yet, they just leave it on review and move on with other aspects of your application.

May 19, 2022: Sputum Tests Results NEGATIVE
June 25, 2022: 2nd Xray
June 28, 2022: Additional Request for 3rd Xray
September 9, 2022 : Started classes online
September 26th, 2022: 3rd Xray
September 27th, 2022: Medical Passed

To all still expecting, don’t lose hope.

SoftdudeKay:
Trust me, I am not sleeping truly. I haven’t slept up to 20hrs since I received this letter on Saturday.

Now this is the issue here: I already have UK ban due to an agent’s stupidity. I applied for a visit visa in 2019 and submitted my original bank statement but guess what? The bastard went to fudge a statement which I didn’t know about, it resulted to UK giving me 10 years ban and this year’s December would make it 3 years. And due to my own stupidity, I trusted another agent with the visit visa to Canada in 2020 and the application fee was reversed back to him and I didn’t know about it until now. Now that this my current study application that I did by myself is about to work out, but that silly error on the 2020 application is about to ruin my chance and a possible ban too. My wife would be relocating to the UK next week Thursday (exactly a week today) as a registered nurse, we haven’t been able to have a good time together since I received this procedural fairness letter.

I look at my wife that we just got married last month and I want to express my feelings on how much I would miss her but damn!!! Something inside of me is killing me so badly that I can’t even express my feelings and our excitement for her new job in the UK and her departure is affected as a family, obviously my laughter and smiles are forced and unreal because I’m hurting inside and she knows. We now have to start looking at UK for me again.

God please, I come before you with Matthew 7:7-8 that says, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

Please, wipe our tears and answer all our prayers, open the doors of Canada to us all on this platform through Jesus Christ your only son. AMEN
Dear Softdudekay,
Please do your best to regain your internal peace. This Canadian journey can test you on its own, and when there is a case that you hope goes in your favour, makes the pressure even more intense.

Don’t miss this time with your wife. You cant gain it back. Worry will only affect your health and relationships.

You have turned it to God. Please let it at His feet. He can ALL things. He did it for my ward( i will share our PPR journey soon, it was not a PFL issue, but it gave us stress).

Add Prov 21:1 to your daily confession.

Djdimeji:
Hello house,
Please can someone advise me on the upfront medicals please.
I'm a prospective student for Canada and going by the time already, applying for the NSE is my best bet, and for this I would need an upfront medical.
So my question,
1. In order to do this upfront medicals must I have commenced any form of the visa process or I can just go ahead with first getting the medicals done in preparation for the visa application.
2. How much does it costs. Particularly for ikeja, Lagos.
3. How long does it take to get the results ready for the visa process.

NB: I'm for the winter intake 2023 and don't want it to pass or be deferred due to processing time, reason why I'm gathering info on what it's going to take to be eligible for the NSE which includes ielts, police clearance and biometrics.

So given all these can anyone just kindly advice on how to adequately time and arrange myself in order to be able to meet up.
Thank you!
Your other questions have been answered but with respect to NSE, the route has not been effective for months. It would be advisable you prepare yourself standard processing times.

All the best.

please advice, my sister has a 2.2 in bsc accounting and her work experience has been in banking and Lagos state government as an accountant. which program is advisable for her. she was put on waitlist at NSCC and was told her letter will be out by January. kindly suggest schools and programs that best fit for her. Thank you.
Dear Bummy01,
She can get into a post graduate diploma or certificate program. She should please invest time to research colleges in the different provinces. Lots of the colleges in Ontario would have something that fits her career/study progression.

What is inside the LOA is first payment is 9k with due date and their was also a second payment too but it is after some months for the second payment, that is it.
9K is what you should have paid. The advise that 4k is enough is not correct. Since you used an agent, please be sure what documents was eventually submitted.
You also mentioned you were asked for an updated bank statement.. was it MBS you submitted initially or scanned paper bank statement? Was it MBS you submitted as updated statement?

Please get in touch with your agent to review what documents are on portal before you write what could get you in trouble.

The thing is got letter of acceptance together with the fee to pay together as well which i paid 4k and my agent was like it is okay which we paid it but to my surprise when i got the message of the partial payment from him and i told him you said we should pay 4k so my thought was the acceptance letter came together with the amount to pay but i never knew one will still get another acceptance letter to use for visa application but then i am confused and scared this doesnt leads to ban cause i have met and paid the agent before discovering nairaland here but i hope it doesnt lead to ban even tho i have ordered my gcms notes cause i dont even know what is going on in my portal timeline as i have no access to it but i know one time he called to deposit more money into my account that they requested for updated statement of accounts which i did and he said he will back it up with some explanantion maybe that is the part of him explaining it in the sop but what i am after now is that i hope things like this doesnt leads to ban tho i didnt fake any documents everything was all genuine
Can you confirm what amount the LOA asked you to pay? Was it 4kCAD? Is that amount written on the fees letter that came with the LOA?

Most schools ask for 1st term tuition, some ask for just a deposit.

Please don’t panic. Just verify your facts.

Anifowoshehabee:
What did this means cause i didnt understand it enough.
Dear Anifowoshehabee,
It appears the amount on the tuition deposit receipt attached in your application is less than the required deposit by your school.

Is this the case?
Is their any document from the school stating why you should pay only that amount?

Some colleges only issue you a 2nd LOA (some schools call it enrollment) to use for visa application after paying the required tuition deposit… this VO is curious if your document is genuine, did you get a wavier on deposit fee that made the school issue you the LOA when you didn't meet their deposit requirement.

If you are sure about the genuineness of your documents, and can explain why you paid less with supporting evidence, then write them a satisfactory LOE.

Wait to hear from others.

Nothing fishy, I use my mom’s account, she’s a business woman, she might remove the money to further fund her business, that’s why I’m asking
IRCC expects you to continue your life as such, money can leave and return back to the account back and forth while the application is on, in the same fashion that the account has always been run before.

Pls gurus can someone get disqualified for a study visa when he’s HIV positive only though on Arv drugs for years pls
Dear TiggyAce,
No, you wont be disqualified.
It could delay your application decision if IRCC feels the cost on ARVs will be above the limits stipulated for such . You will be given a chance to explain how you intend to cover the cost of your ARVa if that is the case.

Please do come clean about your status during your medicals rather than them finding out through tests results.

I'll like to ask those whose flight took off at 8am from MMA, what time did you arrive the airport?

Did you lodge in a hotel, go from home or sleep at the airport?

Your response will be very much appreciated.
Hi, for international travel, it is advisable to be at the airport 4 hours before your departure time. Especially in Nigeria, getting to the airport late can set one into confusion.
Aim to be there between 5am at the latest.

My friend just got a procedural fairness from IRCC about her bank statement. What’s the best action to take to get an approval? She has 15 days
What was the issue about the bank statement stated in the PFL?

Did the applicant use a doctored statement? If the bank statement is not fake, please go the bank to get another statement (normal bank statement with stamps)
If MBS was not used then, get a MBS and reference letter.
Upload both and attach LOE .

But if it was fraudulent? … hmmm.

Ha. It hasn't been easy but God did it. We submitted our application before we found this thread and by then it was too late. I even contacted Makano and wanted him to read our SOP to know if we will get it and he was like you have already submitted, there is nothing we can do but to pray and be hopeful. We saw some documents and information others submitted that we could hv submitted with our application but it was too late. I kept pestering my husband to submit some and we decided to submit some vital information that we missed via web forms. Though we still had many to submit like invoices and receipts. We sent webforms after about 2 to 3 months of submission because I was worried.
Then the wait. At first I thought it was family visa, hence the delay. Then I started seeing family visa that was approved within 2 months. Ha d tension came. I became over worried. Started praying, fasting, reminding God of his faithfulness. My husband kept saying it will be alright. Be patient. We will get it.
Then it dropped on the 24th of June. Few hrs ago.
What God cannot do does not exist.

First time applicants: we did it ourselves
Delay is truly not denial.
Submitted 9th March

I just want to appreciate everyone. Keep believing. It will definitely happen. Though d wait is draining but keep believing. God is great. I kept praying with this song every morning: there is nothing you cannot do.
Huge Congratulations. May your journey be blessed

It can only be God almighty. No one else!!! This journey has taught me patience and I'm glad it's worth it.
I applied since January 13th 2022 and was supposed to resume in May but God had different plan for me. I tried deferring to Sept but there was no space, so I did January 2023.
My husband is the sponsor and I only submitted my salary account( I work in the bank) and my savings that had only 500k.
Canada sent my husband's statement of account to my branch on 10th of June for confirmation and I made sure the confirmation was swift.

Just yesterday someone posted emails of ircc office in different country and I made sure I sent mail to all of them one after the other and just about 9:24am, the Eagle landed.

The Lord is good!!!

An agent did all the application and even gave me logins to everything I wanted.

I pray the voice of favour mention our names into the ears of our visa officers. Favour will speak for everyone!!! This prayer is powerful, just say it all the time and see wonders
Dear Rach,
It has ended in praise. So happy for you.
Indeed the Lord is good.

Please at the bolded, alot of applicants worry about this, can you please share if the confirmation requested by Canada IRCC of bank statement was within or outside the period (date) you shared in the statement submitted?
What exactly did they want confirmed?

It will help others to put their mind at ease, as people as questions like can IRCC see their entire bank transactions or bank balance months after applying.

If you could answer please. Thanks

My first daughter is 4years and a (US citizen), my second is 2years (nigeria citizen).

Question: Am I going to apply for study visa for both children and pay study visa for them too or apply for visit visa?
Please I need help on that part because I want to go with them. What type of visa am I going to apply for them, the US citizen and the Nigerian citizen.
Thank you.
I think study visas should be for kids from school age (5-6 and above). For the US kid, you don't need to apply for because she doesn't need a visa. It would be wise to state in your SOP that she is accompanying you for certain reasons since you are applying for the other kid.
Some have travelled with their US kids without stating it in SOP, while some stated it. Everyone’s application is unique.

I got my refusal letter, 17 June 2022. Reason: insufficient financial funds for me and accompanying family member (my mom)

I might apply again, so i thought to use the GIC as proof of funds with CIBC. Is this advisable? Does anyone know how the process works?

i feel i still have time to apply and also get my visa before school resumption in the fall.

Thank you

I have just been sent a message by IRCC requesting Medical Exams. I was initially trying to do an upfront medical & I have already done the sputum test at IOM for 2 days. Knowing that is takes about 10 weeks for Sputum test result to be ready, should I proceed with IOM or start a new medicals with Q-Life?

I am set to resume school in September 2022.

Your responses are highly appreciated.
If you have already stated medicals and was asked to do additional tests, you have to finish that process. Your details has already been captured and created on the e-medical platform and a number attached to your name, date of birth and passport number. IOM will forward this your initial result on e-medical and IRCC will be aware of your case.
I’m sorry you will have to wait the 10weeks or more.

Ketima:
Now I want to give a little advise to us all. Do that which you believe will work for you. Many of you here knows me well but note it that no one knows it all. We all learn from each other.

Today I got my wife's SOWP, just 3 months after submission even though I'm still in Nigeria. Sometimes we get adviced based on others peoples situations or event, but truth be told, things changes with time. When I got my study visa, family application refusals were high, hence we tend to advice to apply alone, then apply for spouse and kids(if any) when you arrive in Canada. In the past few weeks, we have noticed that family applications are recieving approval, those applying for diploma even when they already have Bsc are getting approval, those applying for PGD even after Masters are getting approvals.

So, What that matters is let your application be top notch. Avoid any loophole. Be your own VO. Review your application yourself and leave the rest to God's grace.

So, I advice henceforth, if you're a family, apply together, worst scenario, it will be rejected and you people can refire again. If you're applying for a degree lower than what you already had, ensure that your prove beyond doubt why you're going for such course. Nothing is impossible in this Canada journey.

For SOWP, then we were advised to wait till you get to Canada before applying. But with the recent delays in SOWP application, applicants are waiting 8 months + before getting decisions. So if you applied alone and got approval, you may as well work toward submitting your spouse (family) application because you never can tell, it may even get approved before you leave so that both can leave together.

And again for those not coming forth to encourage others with there timeline, is not that you're compelled to do it or people beg or attack you, is just to help the newbies learn vital document's to submit as not all will have time to read from the beginning. I personally have 3 people I helped applied for and got approval this month and I told them to come share their testimony here to encourage others and they promised but still hasn't. But It was still from sharing of timeline that they came to me to help them in their applications. So please let's do well to help each other because this journey has no end until we all become citizens. At any stage, you will need help and this nairaland forum is top notch for such.

For my wife SOWP, I will still share it here for others to learn and as well in the SOWP forum.

We're all doing well and God will bless us all.

Lianna2020 you motivated me to apply for her early and I'm grateful I did.
Dear Ketima,
Huge congratulations to you and wifey. Your good deeds in here are not unnoticed.

Does your brother in law have dependents?

While you wait for who can assist you with your application, if you share more details, you could get more ideas on how to repackage.

Lastly order your GCMS notes for the VO’s concerns.

All the best.

Please, I will like to know if it is compulsory I upload my deposit receipt even if the school did not ask for deposit
Dear Hajarat,
Uploading it would be the smart thing to do. It forms part of your proof of funds. I believe you paid the deposit to show some financial strength even when the school didn't ask for.

All the best

Congratulations to you and everyone that have got their application approved.

Please I genuinely need help, I need assistance to fill in and apply for my study permit. I'm ready with most documents, I just need someone to guide me through the application and documentary.

Thank you
Casey.
Dear Seyicar,
You will find your FREE guide on How To and Documents to upload on page 1 of this thread. If you want to do this yourself… take time to begin to read through pages. Most of your “about to ask questions” you will find the answers within the pages.

You can always come back and ask more specific questions in the group and anyone with the answers can help you.
You got this.

All the best.
