Click on the question mark (?) just beside the field you are supposed upload the form in your application portal. You'll be given a link to download

Tell the landlord that you're a new immigrant and its your first time in Canada. He would be happy to rent out to you because I had the same issue too. You have to pay the first and last month rent down though.
Oh ok. That's good. Did you pay before or after landing in Canada?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by kylexy61(m): 8:41pm On May 10, 2018
Please I've been scouting kijiji for rent in Toronto. They keep on mentioning on their rental ads that previous landlord reference letter will be required. I have never rented a place my whole life and hence have no "previous landlord". What do I do in this kind of situation? Will the landlords insist on such reference letters?

@Owols, nice analysis and I totally agree with you but with caution. grin

Reasons:
1. The 2018 74,900 projection includes the dependents of the principal applicants (I read it somewhere..whether CIC website, I cant remember) so for every 3500 ITAs issued, I want to believe, the projection will be head-counted for all principal applicants and their dependents.

2. CIC's projections for the year may be for indication purposes only- ie, they may not necessarily fill this quota for many reasons and the touted 2018 figure may just be an immigration "mission statement" for CIC. grin grin (CIC has posited that this figure is a target that they aspire to achieve) To my mind, if they don't make the target, nobody can sue them!

3. Don't let us be quick to forget that the 2018 74,900 figure is to include Federal Skilled Workers Class (that's us), Federal Skilled Trades and Canadian Experience Class.

It will end in praise IJN!
Very accurate.

This CICNews post about the recent draw did mention that the current pace is slower than that of 2017. And given the higher admissions target for 2018 and 2019, the draw sizes could eventually increase or become more frequent.

But I agree with everything you said. Let's just hope for the best.

Mahn, I'm just praying this express entry thing will continue for the next 3-4 years.

I'll be travelling to Canada to begin a 2-year master's degree this year. Then hopefully apply for the Express Entry via Canadian Experience Class when I get 1 year work experience.

I have seen many, very many denied for failure to show funds on how they are going to defray their travel cost to Canada. It’s even one of the generic reason for denials a VO can check on the refusal sheet. They don’t want to speculate whether you can run around and get ticket after visa is granted. They want to see evidence. The person that got visa without SOA I guess convinced them one way or the other he could get ticket or he simply was just lucky. It’s great when it happens, but I dont speculate on luck here either. I have to advise based on evidence not luck.
Very true. There was this moniker, McOsheBaba in 2017. He had a full scholarship, but was denied when he applied without SOA. He got someone to sponsor his flight costs and reapplied and was approved. The SOA doesn't necessarily have to be your personal one. Any family member will do.

Hello house. Got to Canada safely. The immigration process at the point of entry isnt difficult. You just have to follow through the different process as directed. You will be asked questions by the immigration officers just answer them confidently, that's my own little advice.

............

I am still trying to settle. Also make sure ur phone gsm broadband is compactable with Canadian gsm broadband before leaving ur home country else ur phone wont work with Canadian sim. I am having same issue right now cos i wasn't pre-informed. I jost got a new phone here. Information is key!!!

Best of luck guys!!!
I saw this admonition some time ago and I've been wondering. Pls does anyone know if infinix phones work in canada?

I concur with you sir. Rather than thinking of houses, why not accomplish the first thing you came for. Excel at your academics. Find volunteer jobs during the summer if you can’t land a paid internship. Canadian Qualification and experience would be a treasure to you. Do the important things first before you get carried away.
Of course sir.

Buying a house will be the last thing on my mind while I'm studying. My concerns were with being able to renew passport and extend study permit. Those concerns have been addressed now.

So as you and jnyuwa02 pointed out, excelling in my studies will be my primary focus. Then hopefully, if I secure a PR in the future, I can think about settling down and buying houses.

Congratulations. Firstly, you can renew your passport in the Ghana embassy in Canada. After renewal, you will then apply for extension of your study permit. You can only apply for extension of your study permit few months before it’s expiry. Don’t worry, once u apply you are deemed to have a student status.

Remember applying for study permit is different from TRV renewal. If you want to travel out, you will need to extend your TRV also.

The period before renewing your passport is based on your countries regulation but mostly within few mo the to expiry.

Don’t be scared, don’t think about it. Just come to Canada. Everything will work out seamlessly. Instead, start looking at ur career projection, which professionals exams you need to take, how you will settle and buy houses. Study permit extension and passport renewal are little things to worry about. Canada is a very very good country. GOD Bless CANADA
Thank you so much. I can breathe now.

Sorry to deviate from your point of concern, please did they email you to pick the passport same day your trv was approved or did you have to wait for a separate mail and for how long? Thanks
I applied online. TRV was approved and my passport was requested same day. After I submitted my passport, I received an email 3 days later that it was ready for collection.

Guys, please can a Ghanaian (or Nigerian) passport be renewed in Canada about 1 or 2 years to expiry? I do not want to wait till 6 months to expiry before renewing it.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by kylexy61(m): 8:07pm On May 05, 2018
So guys, thanks to God, I picked up my passport from the VAC yesterday with TRV.

I want to ask a question. My passport will expire on 21st Jul, 2020 and as such the validity period of the attached TRV is up to 20th Jul, 2020. I presume I will graduate sometime in June/July 2020 and since I would like to apply for PGWP after graduation, I have to renew the passport and study permit so that I can get the 90 days period after graduation, and have ample time to prepare and apply for PGWP.

I want to ask if I can go through the renewal process and get the new passport in hand in Canada without having to come back to Ghana. Secondly, even in Canada, do I still have to wait till 6 months to expiry before I can renew the passport? I want to renew the passport earlier so that it can be processed early enough for me to proceed the study permit extension.

√Letter of Explanation, elucidating on why my proposed course in Civil Engineering is in fact related to my undergrad degree in Geological Engineering. I also addressed the conditions on my acceptance letter, then a final paragraph dedicated to explaining why I want to study in Canada and not Ghana.

NOTE: Even though I submitted my uncle's sponsorship letter and bank statements, I did not list him as sponsor in the application form since he was basically only covering my flight expenses. I heeded @jnyuwa02's advice to unequivocally write "Full Scholarship".

I bless the stars for making me discover this forum. Ghanaians are a minority on nairaland, but all your supports make me feel like I'm part of the family.

God Bless you all.

When did you apply?

Wow.. ..i can see you have another offer though.. .congratulations
They mentioned that more than 250 students applied for only 45 spots. And apparently, more than half of that 45 was reserved for domestic students.

I wasn't too surprised. I sent emails to at least 9 profs at UoT and only 1 responded that I should contact him again in a month's time. I did so and he never responded again.

By then, I had already secured a supervisor at another university. So I figured I should just try my luck and apply to UofT without a supervisor. Well I guess I essentially donated $120 to them. 3.92/4.00 GPA don't mean sh*t to UofT grin

This isn’t EXpress Entry! Ip1 and Ip2 are algorithms associated with the process in Express Entry skilled work PR application. This is student visa application. You are not close to medical call. Your security check has not cleared. They are checking your eligibility already before security clears, this is weird and did not follow the usual trend. But that is CIC for you.
Just out of curiosity, what will be the status of the background check in the application portal once the background checks have been completed by CIC?

I will do research if that's all it takes to get funding bro, "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me". Talking about Canada they usually need account statement over 10million but for US it can be bypass, or is there is anyway around it.
If you get admission with full funding in a Canadian University, you do not need to show that amount. Even 600k will normally scale through.

Hello house, am new here,

Please have something bothering me, I need all the experienced people in the house to advice me,

I have my admission, and all my documents are ready for my visa application.

The only thing bothering me is my mum is my sponsor but we don't bear same surname, she never changed her name n my dad is late

Please does this call for worry

I await your responses
Attach your birth certificate in your application. Your birth cert has your mum's name on it, which proves that the sponsor is indeed, your mother.
