AutosHelp:Possibility Of Replacing 5s with 4s Toyota Camry 2.2 Engine by Ladipodeal(op): 9:53am On Dec 07, 2011
I have a 1998 Toyota Camry and have decided to replace the engine due to smoking problem which persisted despite two attempt to fix it.

My mechanic suggest I replace with a 4S engine (Japanese model) to replace the 5S (America model) due to availability and cheaper price.According to him there is no difference between the two engine aside a weight added to the 5S model.

Will like to know if it possible to replace 5S with the 4S model.

PoliticsFg Granted Vaswani Brother N50 Billion Waiver-obj by Ladipodeal(op): 10:01am On Nov 16, 2011
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that the Federal Government has granted Vaswani Brothers import waiver totalling N50billion through their company, Stallion.

He explained that “As of today (September 15, 2011) I understand that that the company they have, Stallion, must have enjoyed over N50 billion ($316m) in waivers and things they’ve brought in corruptly.”

He said that as a result of this waiver, the country is losing a lot of revenue. “That means a loss for Nigeria and a discouragement for the production of rice locally. The rice is dumped, and there’s no way that Nigeria can produce rice at the price of the rice that has been dumped,” he said.

Obasanjo declared this in an interview with The Africa Report, an online medium, in Abeokuta. The interview was published yesterday in the online medium’s website even though it was conducted on September 15, 2011, some few hours before the former president met in secret with Boko Haram families in Maiduguri.

The former president explained that he had to deport the Vaswani brothers, who he described as enemies of economic reform, out of the country to protect the country’s economy. “Who are the enemies of reform? Those who have special interests like the Vaswani brothers, who were importing rice. They are very, very corrupt. Not only have I got to move in to protect my own team, but I have to move in to get the Vaswanis out,” Obasanjo said.

He said that for President Goodluck Jonathan to execute any economic reforms in the country, he has to step on toes as well as protect his lieutenants from the influence of corrupt cartels. “Of course, you can’t do these things without stepping on toes, and there are only two people that can protect you: God and your political head. Ngozi [Okonjo-Iweala], (Charles) Soludo, ‘Oby’ (Obiageli Ezekwesili), [Nuhu] Ribadu and [Nasir] el-Rufa’i, all of them had one problem or another. I had to protect them from one thing or another,” the former president said.
BusinessRe: GEJ On The Importance Of The Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) by Ladipodeal: 7:16pm On Oct 21, 2011
Beaf:
Illegality is the only thing being sacrificed. There were no laws governing the past structure (Excess Crude), therefore it was considered illegal by all comers.
The governors on the other hand saw this as a free for all to demand and divide, because the constitution has loopholes that entitles them to the ECA money; therefore, the country could never make any real savings or foreign investments.

The shiny brand new SWF is fully ring-fenced from any greedy paws by law (hence the governors are upset) and ties very neatly into the other economic and strategic plans of the FG, notably the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).
One of the principal thrusts of the PIB is to break up the NNPC into several units that will all generate profits, rather than being the current budgetry sinkholes they are. One of the units of the split NNPC will be a drilling and prospecting company that will vie for business (prospecting, drilling and refining) across the Globe; much of such forays will be initially financed by the SWF; when the company is properly up and running, some of its profits will serve to drive the SWF.

The above is just a small example from the oil sector alone. Along with GEJ's new local content laws, we will see oil begin to work for the country for the first time in our 51 year history. Before now Shell and its likes simply drilled whatever quantity of oil they wanted, gave us any figure for number of barrels drilled, got paid without Nigerian involvement and that what it.
Slaves in our own land.

The SWF will help power all sorts of investments in every kind of field. Nigeria could, for example, invest in a high tech chip manufacturing plant in Hong Kong and filter the technology back home; we could even use our fund as aggressively as the Chinese use theirs and wholly buy up high tech companies all over the Globe. Before you know it, Nigeria would be a developed nation. We have the money to buy that for ourselves, in fact we have had it for decades, its just that we have also lacked visionary leaders for decades.

Well done GEJ, we be luv'n the Fresh Air! cool
Sounds good, makes alot of sense. Can PDP be trusted?. I am sure some PDP members somewhere are planning how to scuttle this good intention of Mr president and his team. As earlier said, time will tell.
AutosRe: New Tires : Death Trap?. by Ladipodeal: 9:44am On Oct 10, 2011
seal777:
I bought four brand new tires for my Honda 2003 model on recommendation that GT RADIAL is the best i can get for now but i am sad to tell you that i lost two of the tires to bump the same time on my way to Ibadan two weeks ago and also lost one more while within Ibadan town two days ago, i am lost for words to describe this as it has never happened to me before in over 10 years of driving experience and considering the fact that the one i have on the car before now is over 2 years old.

I went back to the guy who sold the tires to me only to be told that it was bad roads and bump that spoil the tires ( 3 brand new tires in 3 weeks).

I am grateful to God i wasn't over speeding when the incidents happened and just here to inform car users to be very careful when buying tires, N44,000 gone down the drain : These IBO GUYS will do anything to make money. Be warned.
@ topic
I believe your tire were over inflated. what pressure did you put in your tire?. Most vehicle owner put over 40psi in their tire whereas on GT tyres and some other manufactured in china the maximum permissible pressure is 36 psi, it is written boldly on it. Been using chinko tyres for over 4yrs but i make sure i don't inflate beyond vehicle specification written by the drivers side.
On most Toyota /Honda they recommend 30-32 psi, hardly you get any vulcanizer  who pumps 30psi, they rather put 40psi and above.
I drive fast on Lagos road at night in some pothole infested area and run into them most time so as not be a victim of arm robbers, I had  never had any issue with china tyre. I change them after 2 yrs of usage.

Top tire like Dunlop, Michelin etc allows for max pressure of 40psi but we always inflate beyond that herein Nigeria.

PhonesMtn Nigeria's Biggest Reward Ever! by Ladipodeal(op): 11:06am On Sep 06, 2011
Stingy MTN finally promises Nigerias Biggest reward ever , how true can this be?.the advert is on most national daily.
Can they beat Etisalat 1 million dollar promo or GLO that gave hundreds of exotic cars "BMW, Toyota, etc" in a particular promo.

I am not expecting anything special from them i believe this is one of their scheme to raise money from their subscriber as done in the past. They better wake up and stop beating around the bush and reduce their tarriffs for good. Maybe they finally realize they are loosing money to Zain /Etisalat who has better tariffs.
They better stick to their december rice/groundnut oil promo which nobody wins(I neva see any body wey win anything frm them).

For those who choose to receive 4mb midnight keep your finger cross.

PoliticsBonny Light Crude Oil Discovered In Kwara by Ladipodeal(op): 12:35am On Aug 15, 2011
I pray this is real , but something tells me that this might be as a result of damaged NNPC pipeline taking crude to kaduna.

[img]http://KWARA State is set to join the list of oil-producing states in the country following the discovery of crude oil in Ara Orin in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

The discovery came as the state identified solid minerals development and mining as key sources of internally generated revenue to fund development programmes.

The state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, announced the discovery in Ilorin while receiving the management of National Mirror newspapers, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House.

Governor Ahmed said the discovery was first highlighted by a farmer who discovered crude oil sprouting from his farm and seven other adjoining sites and alerted the state government.

Providing further clarification, he said geologists from the state Ministry of Industry and Solid Minerals were subsequently directed to confirm whether the substance was indeed crude oil and if so, identify the blend.

According to the governor, the ministry officials did not only confirm the substance as crude oil but identified the blend as Bonny Light, a high-grade of crude oil preferred by European and American refineries due to its unique properties, according to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr Muyideen Akorede.

Governor Ahmed said the find was subsequently verified through independent analysis by a private oil company which also confirmed the government’s findings.
He said further tests were being carried to determine if the crude discovered in Ara Orin was in commercial quantities, adding that the finding was a welcome boost to the state’s economy and its emerging reputation as one of Nigeria’s most conducive investment destinations.

He identified solid minerals development and mining as one of his administration’s key policy thrusts for driving development in the state, stressing that the sector had the potential to significantly boost Kwara’s internally-generated revenue by attracting foreign and indigenous investors to the state.

The governor said the Ministry of Industry and Solid Minerals had been directed to catalogue all mineral and mining sites in the state with a view to regulating the sector and effectively managing the state’s resources.

He identified his administration’s other strategic policy areas as commercial agriculture, human capital development, youth empowerment and social and physical infrastructure.

He said all government policies and programmes had youth empowerment at their core, adding that he had directed all ministries to ensure that all projects had the potential to generate jobs for youths in the state.[/img]
