Olabowale How am I lying? I remember quite well, where I was when we had that conversation. It was Saturday night and i was in the kitchen making me a hot joe. Just because you had people with you, they did not her my statement, so they could not be a good witness for you, if you wished them so. Afterall, you did not put me on speaker phone. Finally, you were the one who brought up the issue of opposite sex next door to the mix. Yet, I never accused you. can you imagine if i was the one who started this topic? My guess is that you could have demanded my immediate execution the way you reacted above.I see you're going to stick to your lie. Why did I ask you to ask your wife if she would be alright with you having sexual thoughts of another woman? That was not my position. It was you who probably assume so, without my leading you to it. You said if a very pretty girl was next door and a man caught a glance at here figure and the thought of having sex with her, that thought alone was enough as a sin, in Christianity. Since our conversation was about temptations as the handiwork of the devil, i gave you islamic perspective about it. In Islam, I said if the thought as temptation comes to one mind and one never acted upon it, it is not a sin, but a matter of struggling against the evil of fornication or adultery. You just admitted it yourself. Basically as long as you don't act upon it then it's okay. So I asked you to ask your wife if she will be alright with you having sexual thoughts of another woman. What's the issue here when you just admitted it? I also indicated that if the thought was very rampant, one should continue to struggle against it, by resisting to fall for it and at the same pray against it. I also illustrated the fact that a person who have the tendency to steal, but never stole can not be consider a thief. The fact of having the tendency does not make a person a bad person, as long as he/she never acted on that weakness, but always struggling against faultering. You see Islam has greater means of mercy and Forgiveness, in principles, if you consider that a sin is simply when one commits it, not the thought of it. If one is tempted and that is sin all by itself, what would you say about Jesus who was driven by the devil into the wilderness, tempted 3 times in addition?Oga sir, sexual sin is different from stealing sin o. Well as the conversation continued, I asked you if it was okay to watch Porn as long as you are not doing the act yourself. You said no. So the question arose as to why is it ok to entertain sexaul thoughts as long as you don't act upon it and not okay to watch pornograhpy as long as you don't act upon it. One is imagination that is not continuous for a long period at any given time of said occurranceLol then you have limited imgaination. anyway i could care less if you wish to entertain thoughts of sex. |
He could never be. He made statements above showing that God is greater than him and sent him. In fact, a person that sends and the one being sent cannot be the same in which you agreed up when you said that Jesus is subect to God, he takes authority from God and cannot do his own will except that of God that sent him.It is hard for you to comprehend, sorry you need the Spirit to guide you. Stating that it could never be, does not in any way mean that it isn't. Just because you can't believe does not mean that it isn't. That's why God says that not all will believe. If it was so easy to grasp then all the Jews would have grasped it and even certain Christians don't understand it. Like I have explained many times. The Son and the Spirit are subject to God. Just as your hands are subject to you but still never separated from you. He didnt die in the first place and there are verses in your bible suporting that (the 3 days and three nights prophecy, the only sign of Jonah (to be like Jonah), they didnt break his leg, he took vinegar that is suposed to have stimulating effect and very medicinal, he ate like human being etc after declaring that dead bodies are like spirit, his disciples were afraid of his resurrection, showing that they never believed in the resurrection story. He did die and defeated death. I think this is what he actually says about Jonah "For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth" meaning he died and descended into hell as the Christians believe. I am glad you brought up the point about his legs not ebing broken, that was also a prophecy, that his legs would not be broken. But he was pierced on his side, this actually was in alignment to his heart. No human flesh would survive a piercing through the heart. You're going to have to explain the vinegar part because if i get stabbed I would like to use it to keep myself from dying since it has a stimulating effect. Let me know if I need to keep one on me at all times, just in case. They never believed in the ressurrection story before he died, but after seeing him themselves after he resurrected they came to believe. But Thomas didn't even after the others told him, but when he saw the Lord he fell down and worshipped him saying "My Lord and My God" This is found in John 20. Enjoy reading, ask God to open your heart too. God IS not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?" Numbers 23:19God is not a man, definitely because he doesn't sin. Jesus Christ never sinned. Sir the more you dig up the more you prove Jesus to be divine and God. God can take the form of a man, but don't forget that Jesus was not born of a man. These verses only prove the divinity of Jesus. He was flesh but was not as the flesh. Just as we live in the world but are not as the world. We live in the world but we stay away from sin that the world enjoys. Sister, the similitude of Jesus is like that of Adam created from dust and He said 'Be and it was'. God is not Jesus and couldnt have been God. I have served you wnouigh biblical verses to go with.Yeah that was the meaning that Muhamad gave to you. Sorry sir but he got it wrong and will you please stop trying to use the quran to explain the Bible. Thanks. Now the verses that you have shown to me, I have seen many many times and sir it does not contradict the Trinity or at least what the Trinity actually is. But it does contradict what you think the Trinity is. What those verses are saying is not contradictory to my belief, but your interpretation of it are. Sorry to inform you but those who hold the belief knows more about it than you who don't. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. (Mark 11:13You're going to have to convince me how because he walked over to a fig tree it means he didn't know that it was not the season for figs. Is it only God that knows the season? If so, how did the writer know that it wasn't the season for figs? Seriously do I come off as being stupid and naive? Matthew 24 v 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.So you're pretty much saying that God is not a Spirit? The Holy Spirit is not All-knowing because only God is All-knowing; the NTimplicatively abolishes the trinity when Jesus distinguished the Holy Spirit:I am trying to understand your point here, so I know how to respond. Are you trying to say that the Spirit is not all knowing or that the Spirit is superior to Jesus. By the way in order for you to know what Christ is saying here, you need to know what the sin against the Holy Spirit is. The sisn against the Holy Spirit is saying that someone is not speaking from God. Jesus was talking about this because the Jews were saying that he is not of God and all that. He was trying to explain to them that when the Spirit speaks through someone and you don't believe or ridicule it you have sinned against the Spirit. Basically insulting God. So no Jesus is not sayin that the Spirit is superior. Now if you say he was crucified, why did he shout to God that why has thou forsaken me?How does that mean that he wasn't crucified? When they crucify someone do they nail their mouth shut? If someone is crucified does that mean that on the cross they can't speak until they take their last breath? Is this a question? Seriously? NO wonder Muhamad was able to fool you. "That they rejected Faith; That they uttered against Mary A grave false charge; That they said (in boast): 'We killed Christ Jesus The son of Mary, The Messenger of Allah.' But they killed him not, Nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not. Nay, Allah raised him up Unto Himself; and Allah Is Exalted in Power, Wise. And there is none of the people of the book (Jews and Christians) But must believe in him (Jesus) Before his death; And on the Day of Judgment He (Jesus) will be a witness Against them. (4:156-159)"Do you expect me to take this to be truth, because I don't. Why? Because I know it is not the truth. How? Because it has no proof. The only proof it has is that the Torah and Bible are corrupted therefore it must hold the truth. Ehn wrong. Hebrew 5:7 "During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission."I'm trying to understand what you're getting at here. Don't misinterpret the Bible please and why would you quote a man whom you consider a fraud? Why are you using the BIble that is supposed to be corrupted to prove your point? It screams "I DON'T WANT TO ACCEPT THE TRUTH BECAUSE OF MY PRIDE, AND I AM DESPERATE TO USE ANYTHING TO DISPROVE THE CHRISTIANS EVEN IF I CONTRADICT MYSELF, I WILL HOPE THAT THEY ARE STUPID TO NOT EVEN CATCH MY TACTICS" Do you know what the prayers were that Christ made and do you know what apostle Paul was talking about? |
where is our Lady soul she still absent for the whole weeks ohh Olypic game in China is approaching don't go there until this forum is finish we are waiting for you.ahh sorry o. actually i prefer the winter olympics, don't ask me why. My internet is down at home, so I am reliant on the computer lab at school. It closes early and I am not always on campus, so you have to bear with me. i have so many questions to answer I see. babs, you self no shorten your own for me and you dey tell me to shorten my own eh. anyway i wasn't even done replying and i stated so. i would aprreciate you reading my posts first before you reply, the answers to a lot of your questions are already addressed. I would also like for you to actually pay attention to what I write and not what you're expecting me to write. You have your own idea of what the Trinity is and I have told you that it is wrong, and given you what the belief on the Trinity actually is, but you're still looking for me to validify your view on the Trinity. I can't validify your view on the Trinity because your view is wrong. I would appreciate you asking me questions based on what the Trinity is and not on what your view of the Trinity is. You have done so for example below is what you wrote: 1In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.I have repeatedly posted that Jesus did not start existeing when he was born of a woman into flesh but he existed with God as God as a Spirit. He then was born of a woman when the prophecies were to be fulfilled and he was incarnated. Jesus did not exist between the years 0AD and 33 AD but before and after that and up till now. |
There was a video on YouTube featuring a British comedian called Ali G and the evangelical preacher Benny Hinn, in which Hinn tried to slay Ali G in the spirit right on stage in front of thousands ( now millions) . Everyone around Ali G fell to the ground except Ali G, who stood his ground. Hinn walked up to him and put his hand on G's forehead and push hard but G did not move. They were caught in a duel, with Hinn pushing and G resisting for about a minute. In the end Hinn gave up and walked away.LOL, SERIOUSY? Same thing has happened to me. I wouldn't fall and they'd keep pushing me. I won't speak in tongues and they'd keep telling me to speak in tongues. One time I started speaking just to get the pastor to leave me alone. When will people learn to let God do his work. Not everyone will get the gift of speaking in tongues. Is it by force? As for Benny Hinn, my lips are sealed before certain people attack me. |
A thank you note is very professional and shows how aprreciative you are. When sending the note, you don't need to put "pick me for the job please" but sending a thank you note is very courteous and sets you apart from the pack. it shows you have manners. |
That's a rather liberal view you are taking on things. In truth "spiritual" persons tend to work a lot with faith and belief. They tend to make pronouncements like things are this way because it says so in the Bible, without much critical analysis. If God encouraged Christians to be more knowledgeable perhaps several concepts in the Bible will not be taken as fact. How would this conflict of interest be resolved?I beg to differ. I am very spiritual and I don't make pronouncements like things are this way because it says so in the Bible, wihtout much analysis. A friend of mine and also several of my professors in the area of chemistry, bilogy, biochemistry, and the likes will be very offended by this yor statement. Things aren't the way they are because it says so in the Bible. The Bible actually conatins things that are true in history. There are plenty of scinetists you make a lot of analysis and still stand on the Bible. Infact much of their study have led them to believe that the events in the Bible are supported by scientific facts. A friend of mine will go crazy to explain it to you. I have to invite him to this forum. He is a Christian and a very strong one too, but also a scientist. By the way who told you that God doesn't encourage Christians to be knowledgeable? We are told to ask for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Your knowledge may also be skewed and flat out wrong. Did you ever think of that? WHo said that scientists hold the truth to it all? Most of the things found are reliant on the definition from a man, who said that man isn't wrong? Have you ever heard of human error? I know that you can be incorrect even in the sciences and science does not hold all truth. If it did, religion would ahve been debunked, but science cannot explain a lot of things and has no proof for a lot of things. It can have a theory but that theory can be wrong, and several have been debunked by other scientists themselves. Knowledge does not lie in science alone. I didn't need science to tell me that I am a girl and that my hair will grow. I didn't need science to tell me that there's a difference between my physical appearance and my brother's |
Well Pastor, the point of the example was actually this, that someone who is a firm believer in say Christ is still capable of causing harm due to ignorance. The example involved a persons health, the same principle can be applied to errors in child rearing, at work, in relationships etc. That a person is a God fearing or spirit filled person does not make him incapable of making costly errors due to lack of knowledge. Where this leads to is the fact that many people in this forum seem to have this concept of spirituality on one side and knowledge, science etc on the other. Should things be this way, should Christians and other religious people not strife to gain further knowledge about the world they live in in order to be better equipped to take care of themselves? Would Nigeria not be a better place if we spent less money building grandiose churches and more on good quality, affordable schools, training institutions for kids and the youth. What do you thinkI thank you for posting this. Why? because you ahve spoken the truth and like I pointed out earlier, people have misinterpreted the word of God to the detriment of those they claim to want to help. On the issue of Christianity, Christians are called to do good. Doing good includes teaching the youth positive things. Helping build houses for the less fortunate, donating what you can it doesn't have to be money to charity or non profit organisations. DOing more on good quality, affordable schools as you put it. Please don't think that having faith in God means sitting at home singing "praise the Lord, o sing o sing o, praise the Lord" or going to Church on sundays and whenever there's a convention or "sow your seeds" event without putting your faith into action by lending a helping hand to those who are in need, but not just that, lending even what it is you need the most. Having faith in God is believing he exists, that everything works out for the good for those who love God (yes even the bad works our for the good, for those who keep God's commandments), loving your neighbour as yourself which is the ultimate gift you can give to someone. When you love you will cause no harm, and you will do all you can to protect. Basically loving God and your neighbour and yourself. I hope this helps |
Thanks for the reply. I didn't actually say that spiritual people lack knowledge, what I asked was if it's possible for a spiritual person to still lack knowledge. What I meant by this is that it's possible for a person to be spiritual and still cause harm from lack of knowledge. Consider this example, a "spiritual" person arrives at the site of a road accident, one of the victims lies on the road immobile, he has suffered an injury to his spinal column. The spiritual person does not know this, he kneels down beside the victim lifts the victims head in his arms and begins to pray vigorously. In this process he manages to exacerbate the injury and ensures the victim will never walk again. The spiritual person meant well, but he's lack of knowledge has caused him to injure a person irreparably.I do see your point, but your point however is rather limited in perspective. Your above scenario is not limited to a spiritual person. An Atheist that is an accountant can see someone in this same situation and lift the person's head and ask the person if he or she is okay. If you are not trained in emergency matters or first aid matters, you can cause harm in this situation. Let me give you another scenario that just happens to be true. I was involved in an accident on the highway. My car tumbled over and I was upside down in the car. Immediately the car came to a stop as a human I had the instinct of getting out of the car. Later I found out that I had a hairline crack in my spinal cord and it is amazing that I didn't injure myself further by moving at the site of the accident. I am a spiritual person, but at this moment it wasn't my belief in God that led me to get out of the carr, but my human instinct and my excessive experience of watching way too many movies that catch on fire when there is an accident (I moved to prevent myself from getting burned in the car in case of a fire). So the scenario you gave is about anyone who cares for injured people, not just a spiritual person. A spiritual person does not have to pick up the head of an injured person to pray fro them. They usually stand on the sidelines and pray. My family is spiritual and most of them are in Nigeria ( I live in the US) yet the distance did not stop them for praying for me. Basically I am saying that you don't have to be spiritual to lack knowledge and you don't have to be spiritual to have knowledge. Anyone without proper education can lack knowledge. Be spiritual or non spiritual. |
Guys pls pray for my Parish Priest. He is ill and we don't know what's wrong with him. He's been sufferring from it for 5 years and the doctors don't know what it is. Thanks. |
"THE TRINITY OF GOD IS DEFINED BY THE CHURCH AS THE BELIEF THAT IN GOD ARE THREE PERSONS WHO SUBSIST IN ONE NATURE. THAT BELIEF AS SO DEFINED WAS REACHED ONLY IN THE 4th AND 5th CENTURIES AD AND HENCE IS NOT EXPLICITLY AND FORMALLY A BIBLICAL BELIEF.The trinity was found already in the Bible. If the concept was not in the Bible it wouldn't have been agreed upon. The emperor forced nothing on the Christians. Even if the devil himself sits on the See of Peter whatever he tries to accomplish would not come to fruition. The Church is protected by God. So even if the emperror tried to force something that was not on God and even if he conspire with the Pope it would not have come to fruition. Three the concept of the Trinity is in the Bible. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In the words of Christ: Matthew 28:19 18 TheN Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY SPIRIT. 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. ANd behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age. The Trinity consists of the FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT. The Trinity known in the Old Testament: Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. The concept of the majestic "we" does not lie in Christianity, so please don't bring that crap into Christianity, leave it in Islam. Genesis 3:22 And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" LUK 1:35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. This was before Christ the man walked the earth. The Holy Spirit already existed. 1 John 5:7 FOR THERE ARE THREE THAT BEAR RECORD IN HEAVEN, THE FATHER, THE WORD, AND THE HOLY GHOST: AND THESE THREE ARE ONE. Here is my favorite: John 17 Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you 2 just as you gave him authority over all people, so that he may give eternal life to all you gave him. 3 Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ. 4 I glorified you on earth by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do. 5 Now glorify me, Father, with you, with the glory that I had with you before the world began. I love especially verse 5. Jesus Christ has always been there. He didn't start existing when Mary birthed him. He existed before all that. He started existing in the human form when Mary birthed him, but in Spiritual form he has always been there. I know it's hard to comprehend that he has been there, because you only see Jesus as a human. You are looking for answers about him from when he was born, but Christ was begotten and not made. He is not as the creature humans, if so, he would have the human nature of sin. Which is what separates us from the Father. Jesus let it be known to the Pharisees that he existed with the Father before being born as a man of a woman. John 8 24 That is why I told you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins. I AM, is not a regular "I am" like you and I would introduce ourselves saying "I am ~Lady, or I am Olabowale, or I am babs787" No it is the name revealed to the Isrealites by GOD as his name. It is the name by which the Isrealites were able to know that Moses was sent from God: Exodus 3 13 "But" said Moses to God, "when I go to the Isrealites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' if they ask me, 'What is his name?' what am I to tell them?" 14 God replied, "I AM WHO I AM" Then he added, "This is what you shall tell the Isrealites: I AM sent me to you" I AM WHO I AM is YAHWEH in english. It is by this that we know that Jesus is the I AM. The same I AM that sent Moses. The council of Nicea 325 said that "Jesus Christ is God," the council of Constantinople 381 said that "the Holy Spirit is God," the council of Ephesus 431 said that "human beings are totally depraved," the council of Chalcedon 451 said that "Jesus Christ is both man and God."I am stil trying to see how these are contradictory of each other when it is exactly what the Christians believe. 1) That Jesus is God 2) That the Holy Spirit is God 3) That Jesus is truly man and truly God. He is the meeting place of man and God. The meeting place of the sinless and the sinful. He took on the form of a man wihtout taking on the nature of a man. He was seen physically as you and me can be seen, yet he is without the sinful nature that we both have. I know the Quran teaches that. More reason why I believe that Muhammad took what was in the Scriptures and agreed to what he could understand. But what he couldn't understand he condemned, because to him it makes no sense, just as it makes no sense to you and it made no sense to the Arians and the Goths. Oh by the way they are who we call heretics, so why it you see the need to use them to prove your point, I don't get. At least try using people that are not condemned or are held in high regards to the faith. You also mentioned the Jews rejecting the Trinity, um hello, they rejected Christ. How do you expect them to accept the Trinity when they rejected Christ himself? Does that even make sense to you? Which leads me again to touch on the point that Christ did preach that he was the Son of God. If he didn't preach that he was the Son of God, then the Jews wouldn't have called for his cricifixion. Well we both know that the Jews and Christians agree on this. So how is it that Christ died for what he didn't preach again? I would like to receive an explanation of that. Thanks. Sister read your post again for better understanding. Jesus is God, God is God, Holy Spirit is God, yet they are not three but one and Jesus is subject to God (himself).I believe you missed the part about Christ and the Spirit being subject to God. That is why I say that the Bible verses you quote are not contradicting the belief of the Trinity. If you knew what the concept is you won't find this to be contradictory. The Christ and the Spirit are subject to God in that they are his hands. They carry out his work. Christ is his word, as he speaks things become, those words that he spoke in the Old Testament, the commandments, laws, prophecy, and all that, is who we call Jesus Christ. He is the Word of God made flesh. He is nothing without God and does not exist without the existence of God, he exists along with God as we see that God still speaks. When God said "Let there be light" those very words are who we call Christ. When God said these are the commandments or the laws, those very laws are who we call Christ. He is the word spoken out of the mouth of God. He became flesh. He became flesh because God is capable of it. That is why he is begotten and not made as we humans are made. that is why he didn't have to be born of a man and a woman. he had to be born of a woman because he needed to come in the form of a man, he needed that stock that man is made of so that he could become man. When a child is conceived the forming takes place in the mother's womb and not the father. Christ was formed into the physique of man from a woman's womb, but he did not need the seed of a man to come into existence. Why? Because he already existed. The Spirit is God's Spirit of all things I would think this is the easiest to grab and understand. Since we know that you can't exist without your Spirit. The Spirit is the Wisdom of God, he is the one that spoke through the prophets the Word (whom we call Christ). He existed along with the father and is the one that inspired the prophets and assisted the prophets. He is the one that filled the prophets and made them worthy men of God. These are who we call the hands of God. They carry out the commands of God. Just as when we are born our hands are not separated from our body and are together with our body, so are these together with God. Our hands did not form later on in our life, they existed from the beginning of our existence that is how the Word and the Spirit exist as God exists. They did not form later on as you believe. No they have always been there. That is the belief of the Trinity. Just as we are identified by our fingerprints so is God identified by his (the WORD and the SPIRIT). You have always viewed it from the angle of oh well he's human and he was born on so and so date so therefore he didn't exist until that date. Well he existed before then and that's what makes him so different from us humans. Our existence began when we were being formed in our mother's womb. His began from the beginning and as God and not from when Mary said yes and gave birth to him. Same with the Spirit. He didn't start existing when Christ spoke of him to come as our advocate, but from the beginning and as God. Now if truly he came to die for your sins, why didnt he come immediately Adam and Eve committed the sin but had to wait thousand of years after prophets were sent to preach the oneness of God but you couldnt attempt that.Could it be that God had to prepare humans to receive him. Could it be that God had to set in motion his perfect plan for salvation. Could it be that God had to make sure that these humans were willing to accept God and have him as their God? Geez ask God why it is he does what he does? Why did God need prophets in the first place? Why are you asking this silly question? Is there in any old prophesies the idea of inherited sin or where it was mentioned that jesus will come and die for sin or where jesus mention in his ministry that in respect of the sin of Adam and Eve, had come to rid the earth of its nuisance and has eventually come to die for that sin.I am not sure I understand your question here. How can there be prophecies of inherited sin? Ok, maybe I should clarify the "inherited sin" issue. I do understand why you would view it as if my father commits a sin then I shall pay for that particular sin. But the idea behind the notion is that all humans have a sinful nature. That is we are prone to sin. That is we can commit fornication, but it does not necessarily mean that we do. That is what is meant by "inherited sin" it was introduced by our first parents. They chose to disobey God and therefore introducing that idea of choosing to obey God or disobey Him. I used this analogy earlier. If diabeted runs in your afmily you are prone to getting the disease, but that does not necessarily mean that you will. You can avoid it by staying true to the instructions by your doctor. Diabetes is the sin, being prone to it is the sinful nature, the instructions are the laws of God, God is the doctor. Here is where it is prophecied that Jesus will come and die for our sins. Prophecy of Jesus' birthplace and pre-existence : "But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days." (Micah 5:2). Fulfillment: "And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. And while they were there, the time came for her to be delivered. And she gave birth to her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn." (Luke 2:47). Prophecy of the virgin birth, divinity and unique sonship: "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, a young woman shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (= God with us) (Isaiah 7:14). "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called 'Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.'". (Isaiah 9:6). Fulfillment "Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit; and her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, 'Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit; she will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.' All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: 'Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel' (which means, God with us). (Matthew 1:18-23). Prophecy concerning the time of his coming: "Seventy weeks (of years, i.e 70 x7 years = 490 years) are determined upon thy people (Jews) and upon thy holy city (Jerusalem), to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy (i.e. no more prophetic revelation added to the Bible after that), and to anoint the Most Holy (anoint = exalt, crown, dedicate, this is Christ). Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem (which at that time was destroyed and its inhabitants were captives in Babylon) unto the Messiah, the Prince, shall be seven weeks (49 years) and sixty-two weeks (434 years): The streets shall be built again, and the wall, even in troubled times." 49 years were actually needed to rebuild Jerusalem after Nehemiah got the royal order by Artaxerxes (B.C. 465-425), which he gave in the 20th year of his reign (Nehemiah 2:1,8b), i.e. 445 B.C. The book of Nehemiah states that Jerusalem was indeed rebuilt in troubled times, since many enemies were trying to hinder this. The remaining 434 years bring us to the year A.D. 38. Although this is some years after the triumphant entry of Christ into Jerusalem we must consider the fact that. a) Historical dates of this time are not quite as accurate as they are in more recent history, due to the fact that there was no proper calendar and different lengths of a year (Israel had a lunar year of 354 days) and b) this described event does not fit any other happening in history and we must consequently conclude that the error is more likely to be found in history than in the Bible. "And after 62 weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself, and the people of the prince that shall come, shall destroy the city and the sanctuary (temple); and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined." (The "prince that shall come" is no doubt Titus, the Roman conqueror and son of Emperor Vespasian who, after the death of the Messiah, came and destroyed Jerusalem and, against his will, the temple, in A.D. 70. After that "desolations are determined" and lasted until this present time!) (Daniel 9:24-26). Prophecy foretelling that he came to save and to heal: "Behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; He will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped." (Isaiah 35:4-5). Fulfilment: "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21). "For the Son of man came to seek and to save the lost." (Luke 19:10). "No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven, the Son of man. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. He who believes in him is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgement, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does what is true comes to the light, that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been wrought in God." (John 3:13-21). "But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from law, although the law and the prophets bear witness to it, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction; since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, they are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as an expiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins; it was to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies him who has faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:21-26). "Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God." (Romans 5:1-2). "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death." (Romans 8:1). "And Jesus stopped, and commanded him to be brought to him; and when he came near, he asked him, 'What do you want me to do for you?' He said, 'Lord, let me receive my sight.' And Jesus said to him, 'Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.' And immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God; and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God." (Luke 18:40-43). "And he went about Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every infirmity among the people. So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, epileptics, and paralytics, and he healed them." (Matthew 4:23-24). "Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to him, 'Are you he who is to come, or shall we look for another?' And Jesus answered them, 'Go and tell John what you hear and see; the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them. And blessed is he who takes no offence at me.'" (Matthew 11:2-6). "That evening they brought to him many who were possessed with demons; and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, 'He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.'" (Matthew 8:16-17). Prophecy predicting the name of Jesus ± B.C. 700: "Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken ye people from far, the Lord has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother has he made mention of my name. And he has made my mouth like a sharp sword; , I will also give you for a light to the Gentiles, that you may be my salvation (Hebrew = Yeshua, the actual name of Jesus, when he lived in Israel) unto the end of the earth. Thus says the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to whom the nation abhors." (Isaiah 49: 1-3; 6-7) Fulfilment: The Angel told Joseph: "She (Mary) shall bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21). Prophecy of Jesus' humble entry to Jerusalem on a donkey: "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Jerusalem; behold, your king comes to you, he is just and having salvation; lowly and riding upon a colt, the foal of an ass (donkey). (Zechariah 9:9). Fulfilment: "And when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, 'Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find an ass tied, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me. If any one says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them', and he will send them immediately.' This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on an ass, and on a colt, the foal of an ass.' The disciples went and did what Jesus had directed them; they brought the ass and the colt, and put their garments on them, and he sat thereon. Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. And the crowds that went before him and that followed him shouted, 'Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!'" (Matthew 21:1-9). Prophecy of the betrayal of Jesus: "Yea, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted , has lifted up his heel against me." (Psalm 41:9). "And I said to them, if you think good, give me the price, and if not forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the Lord said unto me: cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prized at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord." (Zechariah 11:12-13). Fulfilment: "Then Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went to the chief priests in order to betray him to them. And when they heard it they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought an opportunity to betray him. And when it was evening he came with the twelve. And as they were at the table eating, Jesus said, 'Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.' They began to be sorrowful, and to say to him one after another, 'Is it I?' He said to them, 'It is one of the twelve, one who is dipping bread into the dish with me. For the Son of man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.' , Judas came, one of the twelve, and with him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, 'The one I shall kiss is the man; seize him and lead him away under guard.' And when he came, he went up to him at once, and said, 'Master!' And he kissed him. And they laid hands on him and seized him." (Mark 14:10-11, 17-21, 43-46). "When Judas, his betrayer, saw that he (Jesus) was condemned, he repented and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, saying 'I have sinned in betraying innocent blood.' They said, 'What is that to us? See to it yourself.' And throwing down the pieces of silver in the temple, he departed; and he went and hanged himself. But the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, 'It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since they are blood money.' So they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day." (Matthew 27:3- . Prophecy of Jesus' mishandling at His "trial": "I gave my back to the smiters and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I did not hide my face from shame and spitting." (Isaiah 60:6). Fulfilment: "They answered, 'He deserves death.' Then they spat in his face, and struck him; and some slapped him, saying 'Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who is it that struck you?" (Matthew 26:6S67). "one of the officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand." (John 18:22). Prophecy of the suffering and death by crucifixion of Jesus ± B.C. 700: "When we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, and we hid our faces from him: he was despised and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows, yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the punishment that brought us peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed. All we, like sheep, have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way, but the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgement, and who shall declare his generation? For he was cut off out of the living. For the transgressions of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked (killed between two criminals!) and with the rich in his death (he was buried in the tomb of a wealthy man), because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him. He has put him to grief: When you shall make his soul an offering (sacrifice) for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied. By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many (not ALL!), for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he has poured out his soul unto death and was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors." (Isaiah 53). "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my rearing? , All that see me laugh at me to scorn, they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying: He trusted on the Lord. But you are he, who took me out of the womb. You made me hope, when I was upon my mother's breast , They gaped upon me with their mouths as a ravening and a roaring lion. I am poured out like water and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax. It is melted in the midst of my bowels. My strength is dried up like a potsherd and my tongue cleaves to my jaws and you have brought me into the dust of death. For dogs have encompassed me, the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet - I may count all my bones; they look and stare upon me. They part my garments among them and cast lots upon my vesture." (Psalm 22:1, 7-9, 13-18). Fulfilment: "Jesus answered, 'My kingship is not of this world; if my kingship were of this world, my servants would fight, that I might not be handed over to the Jews; but my kingship is not from the world.' Pilate said to him, 'So you are a king? Jesus answered, 'You say that I am a king. For this I was born and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness of the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice.' Pilate said to him: 'What is truth?' After he had said this, he (Pilate) went out to the Jews again, and told them, I find no crime in him. But you have a custom that I should release one man for you at the Passover; will you have me release for you the King of the Jews? They cried out again, 'Not this man, but Barabbas!' Now Barabbas was a robber. Then Pilate took Jesus and scourged him. And the soldiers plaited a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and arrayed him in a purple robe; they came up to him, saying, 'Hail, King of the Jews!' and struck him with their hands. Pilate went out again, and said to to them, 'See, I am bringing him out to you, that you may know that I find no crime in him.' So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, 'Behold the man!' When the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, 'Crucify him, crucify him!' Pilate said to them, 'Take him yourselves and crucify him, for I find no crime in him.' The Jews answered him, 'We have a law, and by that law he ought to die, because he has made himself the Son of God.' When Pilate heard these words, he was the more afraid; he entered the praetorium again and said to Jesus, 'Where are you from?' But Jesus gave no answer. Pilate therefore said to him, 'You will not speak to me? Do you not know that I have power to release you, and power to crucify you?' Jesus answered him, 'You would have no power over me unless it had been given you from above; therefore he who delivered me to you has the greater sin.' Upon this Pilate sought to release him, but the Jews cried out, 'If you release this man, you are not Caesar's friend; every one who makes himself a king sets himself against Caesar.' When Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgement seat at a place called The Pavement, and in Hebrew, Gabbatha. Now it was the day of Preparation of the Passover; it was about the sixth hour. He said to the Jews, 'Behold your King!' They cried out, 'Away with him, away with him, crucify him!' Pilate said to them, 'Shall I crucify your King?' The chief priests answered, 'We have no king but Caesar.' Then he handed him over to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus, and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called the place of the skull, which is called in Hebrew Golgotha. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them. Pilate also wrote a title and put it on the cross; it read, 'Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.' Many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek. The chief priests of the Jews then said to Pilate, 'Do not write, 'The King of the Jews,' but, 'This man said, I am King of the Jews.' Pilate answered, 'What I have written I have written.' When the soldiers had crucified Jesus they took his garments and made four parts, one for each soldier; also his tunic. But the tunic was without seam, woven from top to bottom; so they said to one another, 'Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.' This was to fulfill the scripture, 'They parted my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.' So the soldiers did this. But standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, 'Woman, behold, your son!' Then he said to the disciple, 'Behold, your mother!' And from that hour the disciple took her to his own house. After this Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the scripture), 'I thirst.' A bowl full of vinegar stood there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop and held it to his mouth. When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, 'It is finished'; and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. Since it was the day of Preparation, in order to prevent the bodies from remaining on the cross on the sabbath (for that sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who had been crucified with him; but when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water. He who saw it has borne witness-his testimony is true, and he knows that he tells the truth - that you also may believe. For these things took place that the scripture might be fulfilled, 'Not a bone of him shall be broken.' And again another scripture says, 'They shall look on him whom they have pierced.' (John 18:36 - 19:37). Prophecy of the resurrection of Jesus: "I have set the Lord always before me, because he is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices. My flesh also shall rest in hope, for you will not leave my soul in hell (here 'sheol' = underworld, grave), neither will you allow your Holy One to see corruption." (Psalm 16:8-10). Fulfilment: "But on the first day of the 'week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices which they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel; and as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, 'Why do you seek the living among the dead? Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise.' And they remembered his words, and returning from the tomb they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest. Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told this to the apostles; but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them." (Luke 24:1-11). I have to leave campus. I'll be back another day. So I hope this is enough for now. But if you will please wait for me to finish responding. Sorry for the inconvenience. |
You all should help me thank God for a successful surgery.Didn't even realise you went in for surgery. Hope all is well. God be with you. Will keep you in my prayers |
Anyway. I traveled only to return to find out that my internet connection is caput ![]() I have to access the internet on campus. I am not always on campus. So you can go ahead and comment on what it is I have written so far. But please comment on what I wrote, ask questions on what I wrote and not add in your own beliefs. Thanks. Olabowale did a good job of adding in his own belief. You can't explain or understand the Bible based on the Quran. Don't ask me questions that do not deal with the Christian faith. Thanks. If you do, I will ignore you. If you notice that I am ignoring you then go back and comment on Christianity not what you believe it to be or what Islam has taught you. Thanks. I will do my best to make it on campus until my internet is fixed. Which at that time I will continue to add to my write up, but at this time it seems I am unable to add to it. |
I read all the response of Mis Lady she is more talking about SIN/SINLESS, we want to know how Jesus became god in trinity give as some evidence in the bible? okYou must lack basic comprehension. If I didn't address how it is Jesus is God, then how was Olabowale able to comment in the aspect of Jesus being God? Go and read what I wrote again. At least come up with a rebuttal on what I wrote and not what you want to think I wrote. |
Does religion have a purpose?Yes. What exactly are the benefits of religion or spirituality for us here on earth?Guidance and salvation How has worship and religion affected our day to day life in Nigeria. Has it affected life in Nigeria positively or negatively?People have misinterpreted the word of God all too often and leaving behind a negative effect of religion Is it possible for spiritual people to still lack knowledge to improve their standard of living and if so is there any point in being spiritual without acquiring knowledge?Spiritual people don't lack knowledge to improve their standard of living. Americans are spiritual, so are Britons, and Italians, and Spaniards, and Germans, and many others, but they have a nice and comfortable standard of living. There are neurosurgeons, scientists, nurses, professors, philanthropists who are spiritual. How does spirituality measure a person's lack of knowledge. If for instance a person falls ill which path should he find to health, does he pray fervently to God for deliverance or should he seek for medical solutions and knowledge? Both maybe? Who said that praying for God's healing means sitting ant home and praying? Did it ever occur to you that God blesses the hands of doctors and nurses to administer proper health care to patients? Just curious about how Nigerians feel about this questions. Would love to hear your comments.Ihope my comment was satisfactory for you. Spirituality does not mean a lack of knowledge. Lack of knowledge does not arise from spirituality. |
As for the old covenant - i stick with Paul's pertinent summary - Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law (old covenant), but under grace (new covenant).one more time Christ put it best when he said "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish the law but to fulfill it." Mathew 5:17 The law contains the ten commandments. If they are not relevant, which ten commandments are? |
David why are you now saying that I AM THAT I AM is the name if God in the Old Covenant. I thought his name was not unknown, how is it now that it is known? You completely missed that part. Let me remind you on your own point: prior to the new testament God's name remained unknownHow is it that God's name is all of a sudden known to us. Did the Bible change in two days? God's titles also include - Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah elohim, Jehovah Raphae . . . which of those titles did Christ tell you every knee would bow to?All of them. If Jesus is God and God is called Jehovah, Jireh, Jehovah elohim. Jehovah Raphae, then all knees bow at all these names. I AM THAT I AM was the name under the old testament . . . the old testament that was only valid for one yr by the blood of bulls and goats. The "name" I AM THAT I AM is not the name wherewith we can be saved.1. I thought the name was unknown 2. Yes it is. If we really want to Get technical with it and use your reasoning, "Jesus" is not the name that we can be saved in. The name that we can be saved in is "Yahshua" seeing that Jesus was not known by "Jesus" but by "Yahshua" Make sure that you keep in mind that the Bible is translated into different language. In yoruba the name we can be savd in is Jesu in Edo it is Ijesu. Jesus is I AM and it is in his name that we are saved. The name under the new covenant is Jesus Christ. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.Actually it would be more like Yeshua Christos for the remission of sins. Another silly question.Answer it. Was Jesus Christ not the same God who appeared to Abraham? Why did He not to die on the cross for Abraham's sin rather letting his generation slaughter bulls and goats for over 2000yrs?So you're saying that Jesus is not the same God that Abraham worshipped? What was His Father's name that Christ came with? I AM THAT I AM?Yes!!!! By what name do we have life? I AM THAT I AM? Why then didnt the old testament prophets have this "life"? Why did they still need the blood of a bull every year?YES!!! Because God had not sacrificed himself? So Jesus is separate from God? His name is Jesus Christ - the name by which EVERY KNEE shall bow and EVERY TONGUE shall confess that Christ is the Lord to the Glory of the Father.Jesus Christ is the I AM The old testament was a shadow of the new testament to come . . . it is no more as relevant today as me going to Shilloh every yr to slaughter my repentance goat.It is a shame that you think this way. No wonder you have no idea on the essence of God. You say the Old Testament is irrelevant, you say the law of God is irrelevant. Christ put it best when he said "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish the law but to fulfill it." Mathew 5:17 You say the Old Testament is irrelevant, you say the prophecies about Christ are irrelevant. Lastly i need to make a quick correction - I AM THAT I AM i mentioned as the "name" under the old covenant . . . i should rephrase that to mean God's title under the old covenant.no need to rephrase, you already said what you meant. Besides the Bible does not lie. Moses asked for the name of God and God gave it in the language of that time. God's name was always revealed. If the Old Testament is irrelevant, why do you have it in your Bible? You should discard it because to you it is irrelevant. |
Why are we not praying in the name of I AM WHO I AM?WOW!!! My goodness. You don't know who I AM is then. If Jesus is I AM, wouldn't that mean that you pray in the name of I AM? Let me break it down for you. If Jesus is God, wouldn't that mean that you pray in the name of God? So Abraham worshipped a different GOD? The God that Abraham worshipped is not the God that you worship? God revealed his name to us and his name is I AM. Because God revealed his name, the Jews were able to tell that Moses was from God and had actually indeed been spoken to by God. It is because this name was revealed that we are able to know that Jesus is the I AM as in GOD. Jesus is I AM WHO I AM. When you pray in the name of Jesus, you pray in the name of I AM WHO I AM. But that wasn't my point. My point is God revealed his name to us. That is how the Jews came to believe that Moses was sent from God. Dude Christianity didn't come about to abolish the Old Testament. The Old Testament is revealed in the New Testament. Regarding the Old Testament as irrelevant is blaspheme. False. Read verses 24 and 28 . . . they have nothing to do with the name I AM. Its basic English, would these also qualify as being used as a name? -WOW!!!! My goodness. There is a difference between I AM and I am. Just like there is a difference in Son of God and son of God. Just like there's a difference in Spirit and spirit. It is not plain English. The Bible was not written in English. The I AM used by Jesus in John 8:24, 28, 58 is the word used for God by the Jews. That is how we are able to say that in these verses Christ clearly lets us know that he is God. You yourself have quoted these very same verses to the muslims to prove to them that Christ is saying that he is God, if he is not saying it there, then why did yo quote it for them? I AM is YHWH and not I am ~Lady~ So you won't have a problem with me saying that I AM. You won't have a problem with me saying that I AM WHO I AM. Right on point there. But surprisingly Gen 32: 29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. How does this show that God forgot his name? If you ask me my name and I ask you why is it that you're asking for my name, does that mean that I don't know my name? God is not human he does not move to the way of man. I AM was the name under the old covenant . . . Jesus Christ is God's name under the new covenant . . . the name that carries the power to save from sin. That was the name not revealed in the old testament. And here I thought the name of God was Osanobua. It is the same thing. God did not change his name. He has never changed his name. He is not inconsistent. He won't go by one name here and go by another there. You were too fixed on finding fault i doubt you even read through the post. Typical . . . i see u've abandoned your fruitless quest to justify unbiblical drivel and ignored the entire topic to pick on my posts. Becoming the christian version of ayinba1 i see.You are praying in the name of the God of Abraham, Isaac,a dn Jacob. If the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the SAME God that you believe in, you are praying in his name. Just because you don't open your mouth and literally say "in the name of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob" does not mean you are not praying in his name. I could care less about your being the one who posted. If this was any random person who posted this, I would have very well replied to it. You posted something wrong. And look you changed your mind as you do all the time. You said that in the Old Testament God's name was not revealed, yet you come back and stated this: "I AM was the name under the old covenant" I thought there was no name. How then is it that there's a name of the Old covenant? |
prior to the new testament God's name remained unknownI am sorry sir but God's name was known. Exodus 3:13-14 13 "But" said Moses to God, "when I go to the Isrealites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' if they ask me, 'what is his name?' what am I to tell them?" 14 God replied, "I AM WHO I AM." Then he added, "This is what you shall tell the Isrealites: I AM sent me to you." It is by this name that Jesus identifies himself in John 8:24 and 28 and 58 24 That is why I told you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins. 28 So Jesus said, "When you life up the Son of Man, then you will realise that I AM, and that I do nothing on my own, but I say only what the Father taught me. 58 Jesus said to them, "Amen, Amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM." "I AM WHO I AM" is "YHWH" but we know that the Jews had much reverence for the name of God that they dared not to speak it and would normally say "The LORD" it is by this that Christ was able to identify himself as "The LORD" in the language of his day and region. By this we know that he is "YHWH" "I AM WHO I AM" How then should we go back to praying in the NAME of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?Because the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the SAME God that you worship. I hope so, especially if you call yourself a Christian. |
[quote@lady LOL maybe it's time you went and produced yours then (na yams ). nwys, have a great day and stay blessed . ]
AHHHHHH!!!! LOLOLOLWell maybe not anytime too soon. But at the Lord's time sha. ![]() |
maureen, pls there's no need to go on an insult. Thanks. Olabowale should be respected despite his religious beliefs. Christians are called to love everyone not just Christians. Christians are called to accept everyone. That is what Christ did, please walk in his footsteps. Udyro Quoting the Bible for them won't prove anything to them. To them what you are quoting is what they view as corrupt. Why would they hold something corrupt to be true? Explaining it and helping them understand what the belief is, is the way to go. I hope after I am done, they will understand better. Maybe they won't ask questions about what Christians don't believe, but rather what we do believe and get to see it from our view, and not the carnal view in which they use to view and understand the Bible |
really lady? how nice. a window has just been opened for you to help mould a child into the finished product of a saint. an onerous job indeed! am sure you're up to d task.Lol. I am so honoured. When my uncle told me I just couldn't stop screaming. I didn't even let him finish. I accepted before he asked. It was funny really. This is such a joy for me. Looking at all I've been through, this is just a light for me. It really is even more amazing because he was married to a woman who was horrible towards him and disgraced him at every chance she got and blamed him for not being able to conceive and look he remarried and the baby will be born in less than a month. It is a miracle. This is the year of babies in my life. My aunt who's had many miscarriages got a baby boy as a gift from God after over 10 years of marriage. My cousin is having twins, my friend's brother is having a baby. A new friend I just made is having a baby, another friend is having a baby. My goodness, I am just surrounded with baby producing people. |
I like the way you put it, setting mom straight for the first time. So really, you agree wth me that the second lord in that verse is just a toothless lord, who actually depends on the real Lord? If you agree with me, why the heck are you in that group of 3 gods in 1?Why do you keep assuming ppl agree with you, especially when you misunderstand what they say? |
Let me knock out six of those writers you claim did not write about Christ. Tacitus, Josephus, Seutonius, Pliny the Younger, Lucian, Philo, there are more writers. The Sanhedrin wrote of Christ. They don't believe in Christ but do acknowledge his existence and his miracles and his message and no they are not forged. |
History reveals that it was decades after the death of the apostles that a politico-religious system repudiated the Sabbath of Scripture and substituted the observance of the first day of the week. The following quotations, all from Roman Catholic sources, freely acknowledge that there is no Biblical authority for the observance of Sunday, that it was the Roman Church that changed the Sabbath to the first day of the week. This is a lie. I know I am Catholic. The Church did not admit to this. I don't know where your sources are from but it's not from the Roman Catholic Church. 1 The sabbath was not moved. Who said it was? Don't make a false claim. We do hold the first day of the week to be a holy day because that's the day the Lord rose, but how does that state that the sabbath no longer existed. Acts 20:7 On the first day of the week we gathered to break bread together. The meeting did not start later on, but with the apostles. Please jsut because some Christians are confused as to what the commandments or beliefs of the faith are does not mean that everyone holds this belief. Thanks. One more time. The african slavery was not spoken of in the Bible. You are not a part of Isreal. Wake up and start loving yourself and stop with the identity crisis. |
Now Olabowale, allow me to finish before you comment and read through everything first so that you wont ask questions to something I already gave an answer to. Babs787 Thanks for respecting my wish, unlike Olabowale |
Olabowale, there is a reason why I asked that all comments be held until I am done. Babs respected my wish and I thank him for that. You however have shown complete disrespect for my wish. If you would actually adhere to my wish you will notice that the questions you ask are immediately followed by an answer in my post. That is my reason for asking that you hold it until I say I am done. Could you tell us when man was never separated from God? In other words, was there a time from Adam, onward that man and god are never separated? If there is no time then the concept of sin separating man from God will be wrong.Yes before Adam and Eve chose to obey satan rather than God. Jesus did not come to existence afterall of these and after humans were wiped out to a just handful in the Flood that occurred during the prophetic period of Noah. Please don't read the Islamic belief into the Christian belief. Jesus existed before the world. He became flesh later on. He was seen by humans later on, but his substance was already in existence. From your own statement we see that Mary herself is freed from sin. This simply means she was not created with the ability to sin, or prevented from sinning or whenever she sinned, she was immediately forgiven as it was never recorded for her.Being freed from sin does not mean that you do not have the nature to be sinful. She had to be cleansed from her sin by becoming "full of grace" (go look up grace to understand this more). The salvation that was to be brought to mankind was presented to Mary before she gave birth to Jesus. She was prevented from sin. That is why she is the model for the true disciple of Christ. She is the model of virtue for Christians. She is God's most faithful disciple (follower). If the craterion of being "GOD," on earth is simply being sinless, as you have said that God is in heaven, since you said that he had to come on earth, in the person of Jesus, then we would assume that Mary was also God.It is by God's grace that Mary is without sin. Stop picking what you want out of my statements and running with it. You missed the part about God preparing Mary for birthing Christ. Mary is not sinless by her own power but God's power. Christ is sinless by his own power, because he is God. The criteria of being "GOD" is not simply being sinless, we all are to be sinless before we can enter heaven, but we do not obtain salvation "sinlessness" by our own power but by God's. Mary had no power in her salvation. So no Mary is not God. The criteria is being able to be sinless by your own power and the only one that can do that is God. Bt wait, who decides what is sin or sinfulness? The one who decides, in this case god, will out to be above it. Anything that He deemed sinful, will have to be by His authority, alone, after He has warned against it. You can not be guilty about something unless there is a standing statement to indicate it as such. In other words, if thiefery was not a thing already considerd as sinful, w2ho ever took things that belong to othrs and not their own, would not have been considered to have committed thiefery!Having a sinful nature does not mean that you will sin. There are people who are capable of committing adultery but never do. You Olabowale are capable of committing fornication or adultery but does that mean that you do it? If Jesus is all of this to man, becaues he is God's word to man, then the heaven and earth will have to be the same to the galaxies and the planetary systems, known and yet unknown! Thats even harder, since Jesus deals with just humans, male and female, while the heaven and earth deal with many more and complex creations. Now, what is playing the same role for the animals as Jesus is for man and heaven and earth are for the planetary things? Give me what is playing that role for the many flesh eating animals, eg Lion, Tiger, Leper, Cheatter, Hyienna, etc?Lol. Ok man please stop grasping at straws. So tell me what your dog thinks about sin. Yet we still have loads of people who commit sins. Let just concentrate on the Christians, alone, being the single group that believe this roke you are saying that Jesus played.Being free from sin does not mean that you do not have a sinful nature. I don't commit fornication does not mean that I am not capable of it. But God allow the sinner, eg those who do not believe that he exists to eat, healthy, etc. Some of these peple are the most wealthy people on earth. Bill Gates is a very good example. I do not want to even talk about the hindus etc. God can look on sins. How else are sins recorded into the book of deeds which wll be read out in the day of Judgement?Don't take my words out of context. God does not accept sin. Is that better? He will not allow anyone to rest in his abode if he or she is still stained by sin. Are you saying that Adam and his wife, Eve were not forgiven, as it is recorded that they were inspired to seek forgiveness from God, immediately, as they arrived on earth?1. recorded where? the Quran? That's not the book of God. 2 So when they arrived on earth they already committed a sin before they arrived? 3 What sin would that be? If this is not the case, are you then saying that their fate is the same as the fate of the evil one who incited them to the evil that occurred in the garden?Using the stories of the Quran to explain the stories of the Bible is just plain "unintelligent". You don't use the story in the Quran to explain the Bible story. If this is the case, then what is the fate of those who came before Jesus was born and then began his ministry, by which you gave him the title of the one who overtuned the sinfulness of all after him and reconcile man to God?ahh see there's the thing about Christ descending to free those in prison. He even freed those who perished in the flood. But they had to be faithful to God, even though they were not as faithful as Noah was. They were still disobedient to God. What about Noah who by his prayer, the human raise was wiped out to a feww people who were saved with him in his vessel, because they believed his message?ok one more time using the quran to explain the Bible story is just plain unintelligent. You can't ask me questions about what I don't believe. Ask about what I ACTUALLY believe, not what you believe and hold to be true. If a person steps on an insect, knowingly or knowingly, is one of the situation not sinful? If a person cut down a cherry tree, or set fire to a tree so that the tree dies, depriving animals from making nexts and homes on it, depriving man from its shade from excruciating sun rays and the head of the afternoon, or the beauty of its lushness of uts green leaves and beautiful flowers and the fragrances of its petals and nectars, will any of these be considered as sin? How many sins do we knowingly or unknowingly commit, daily? We knowingly and unknowingly commit many sins each day. That is why we should ask for forgiveness for those sins that we may not even recognise as sin. I remember your argument with me that just merely the single passing thought of sexual relationship out of marriage, is sinful. That was just a thought that flashed through the mind and it was dismissed, immediately. Can anyone meet this sinless conditions that you had set, while he is fully engaged in life struggle and interracting with varied peoples? Please consider answering each and every idea about sin that i set forward for you to answer. If you can, but if not, its okay, too.Uh see you're lying. I remember that conversation vividly and don't forget that I had ppl around me at that time that became involved in the conversation. Your position was that there was nothing wrong with entertaining the thought of having sexual relationship with someone other than your wife as long as your wife did not know about it. I challenged you on that and told you that when you entertain such thoughts you are committing adultery. It wasn't until after I brought in the situation of pornography and asked why you consider that a sin eve though you are not partaking in the sexual relationship that you "flip-flopped" and said that such thoughts should be dismissed. So I asked you to ask your wife if it was ok for you to entertain thoughts of having sexual relationship with someone other than her. I still haven't received a reply. What's her position on it? I hope you are not saying that human head and each parts of human, is like that of God's? That will destroy your believe that God is a spirit, wouldn't it?No it wouldn't. Being created in the image of God means functioning as he does. As in he has these parts that work together as the parts of the body work together as "one" and "inseparable" not that God himself has a physical body as we humans do. Let me try to undersatnd you; Are you saying that When Adam and his wife were created they were sinless, and the disobedience was their first sin, right?Yes. If this is so again were they forgiven, ever, hence having the good grace of God's forgiveness?Yes. Interestingly, Jesus did not introduce any new word for which people to seek forgiveness, other than what the people before him used to use; realising their mistakes, being contrived and seeking forgiveness from God, alone.so who said he introduced a new way? Christ did not come to abolish the law, he came to fulfill it. If Adam and Eve were created sinless, are not children created sinless as they were just born out of the mother's womb? Will a newly born baby who dies after birth be considered sinful or sinless? Say the first minute of life, without even a chance to suckle from mother?Humanity was created sinless, but by disobeying God brought about the sinful nature. In doing so God decided ok, you've turned against me, now in order to get back to that level of comfort (grace) that you had before, you have to work for it. You have to prove that yo truly love me, now you have to stay true to my commandments. You have to prove yourself to be mine and not the devil's, you can't serve two masters. Just as we inherit heatburn or diabetes from our parents or highblood pressure, we inherit the sinful nature. We are able to have heartburn, we have a high risk of heartburn, diabetes, or highblood pressure, but if we are careful in doing what is right we stay away from it. Same with sin. We have a sinful nature but by being careful in doing what is right we stay away from sin. A child is born with the sinful nature, but if he/she dies immediately after birth then they he/she is accepted into heaven. Why? Because while they have a sinful nature they did not act upon it. But ironically, Christians who truly believes in Jesus can do all that you mentioned still die! Tell me, wasn't John paul that was buried in 2004, with his fet buried some where different from other parts of his body? Did any of those who followed Jesus as his companions not die? Did paul who developed the Christian doctrines not dead, yet?1. Paul DID NOT create the Christian doctrine. Christians existed before Paul became one. He did not write the gospels as you confusingly believe. 2. Did you miss the part about Christ rising from his own power? My darling, tell me one single person who has reached this very stage or level? I am not even giving you my opinion about Jesus? I am also of the opinion that everyone, those who believe with you or we who do not believe your concept above will be ressurrected. Thats how judgement will be pronounced. I want to hear about a sinless christian, in the maintime! The Saints. There are too may of them, do your research on it. PLease tell me how he tell you to behave to your husband?I am to love my husband and not committ adultery. Tell me how he tell you to distribute your wealth, or the wealth of deceased? They are already in the old testaments. Christ did not come to nullify the laws but to fulfill it. Tell me how he tells you to purify yourself after sexual intercourse with your partner, etc?DUDE, SERIOUSLY, you don't need to be told to wash you arse when you have sex. I'm sorry, it jsut seems like you know the prophet had to tell you to do these things, but for real personal hygiene doesn't have to be writen in stone. Tell me how he tells you to lay down to sleep?Lol, this is so laughable. There is a wrong way to sleep? Will God punish you for sleeping on the couch, on your side, on your back, on your stomach. Which one will God punish you for? When you sleep are you conscious as to which way you're laying? If you are, you're not sleeping. In sleep you are in a state of unconsciousness. Tell how he tell you to make prayer to him, or God?Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us of evil Christ asks us to go to the corner in our room to pray and not be like hypocrites who stand on the corner of the street to pray so that all may see that they are holy. God sees the heart. Efeosa! Oh girl. This one pass me o! Now explain how "My God, My God, why has thou forsaken me?!," came about? If doing the will is so important why trying to refuse it and prayed against it in the prayers at the Garden of Geshemine? I did not read "Father," here but "God!" Go figure.I am still yet to see how "why have you forsaken me" interprets to "I don't want to do this" Then you haven't gotten the idea of the Trinity and how it is that they exist. There is God, there is God's Word, there is God's Spirit. God's Word has been with him from the beginning of time. Certainly his word did not start existing when Jesus was born in the flesh, but Jesus is the Word that's always existed but now it has come in the flesh, now humans were able to see him. God's Spirit, now that's just a given. His Spirit did not exist later on but with him. His Spirit is Truth because God is truth, His Spirit is Wisdom because God is wisdom. The Word and Spirit are subject to God the Father. You are telling me that the Christian God does not forgive. Well, people in the christendom, it seems as if you have been praying for forgiveness for nothing. The reason is that your God does not accept repentance and so He does not forgive. Please explain how you got this from that statement I made. I think you just wanted to rant on something, because your statement holds no basis. Omo girl, how was the test(s)? I wish you well.I dropped the class. I refused to fail, call me stubborn |
Hello all. I am particularly excited today. I just found out I am going to be a God mum. I can't wait. |
The Trinity: The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. In simple terms the Father is God, the Son is God, the Holy Spirit is God. How can this be? The Son is called the Word of God and the Spirit is called the Spirit of God. God cannot be separated from his Word and his Spirit. If so, then the question arises, who existed first? God, His Word or His Spirit? God created heaven and earth out of his Word. The world came to be through the Word of God. God's Word existed with him and is subject to him. Jesus is God's Word made flesh, why did the Word become flesh? Because of the sin of man. Sin separates man from God. God is the only one who is sinless and in his infinite love and mercy he came upon the earth as a man. He had to come of a woman whom herself is freed from sin as sinful cannot give birth to sinless, that is why Mary is full of grace as the angel greeted her. Jesus Christ was equally man and God. He is truly man and truly God. With him man and God come together in a union. He is the "meeting" place for man and God. Why did he have to die? To free us from sin. Sin is the barrier that separates us from God. God cannot look upon sin. When our first parents were created they were without sin. They could seek the face of God, but after disobedience they could no longer do so, because they now clothed themselves with sin. This disobedience had to be overturned and in so doing reconciling us to God. Taking us back to the image and likeness in which he made us. He made us in his likeness (without sin) now with Christ we can get back to that likeness (without sin). He made us in his image, of one body, functioning together, different parts but still of the same body and never separated. Gen 1:26 "Let us make man in our image (body, different parts but functioning together, head not separated from hands as hands not separated from leg, as legs not separated from heart), after our likeness (without sin)." With sin comes death, therefore Christ had to conquer death, he alone could do this by his own power because he alone is free from sin by his own power. With his resurrection he defeated sin, and as he resurrected so will we do, those who walk in his footsteps. We too will resurrect in the likeness of God (without sin). As he walked the earth he showed us how to live faithfully to his commandments. As he died on the cross he showed us how to accept sufferring and doing the will of the Father without complaint. As he resurrected he gave us hope of one day being reconciled with the Father. To be reconciled one has to be without sin, because God does not accept sin. Walking in his footsteps---living faithfully, accepting sufferring, and dying in Christ. We have salvation to look forward to. We have resurrection without sin to look forward to, resurrecting without sin, we are reconciled fully with the Father, because the Father does not accept sin. How is it that Jesus is God? Because he is sinless. God alone is sinless, that makes Christ God. God alone can defeat death by his own power, that makes Christ God. Christ is God's Word, God did not exist without his Word, clearly he communicated with humans through his word, so his word had to have existed along with him. The only one that can exist from beginning is God. This is the mystery of the faith in the Trinity. How is it that Holy Spirit is God? Because it is the Spirit of God. He proceeds from the Father and the Son (the Word of God) he is at the commandment of the Father and the Son (the Word of God). He existed from the beginning along with the Father and the Son (WORD of God). He spoke through the Prophets. God's Spirit certainly did not start existing later on, it was always there. But was it made known to all, ofcourse not. Only a select few could know him, those select few being the Prophets. Those were the ones filled with the Spirit, those were the ones who could seek the face of God. Those were the ones who were worthy enough. But after the resurrection of the Son, who came to reconcile God with man, who broke the barrier that separates God from man (sin) all those who seek the Father through the Son receives the Spirit. The Spirit is now able to live within anyone who comes to the Father, through the Son. The two are subject to the Father. The Father is the head and the Son and Spirit are the hands that carry out the Father's works. But we know that as we have our heads that do the thinking and our hands that do the work, our hands are not separated from us. We are one body. Just as the Father, the Son, the Spirit are one body, functioning together and never without each other. Muslims say that what is preached in the Gospel is not what Christ preached. Yet they agree that he was crucified. There is overwhelming evidence of his cricifixion, even the Jews agree and till this day still tell of it. Well question is if what the gospels speak of are not what preached then how is it that his crucifixion came to be. If Christ had not preached about being the Son of God and being one with God then he wouldn't have been crucified. To the Jews this was blaspheme. But since we know through history that Christ was crucified and the reason he was crucified (before Paul), then how could it be that he didn't preach what is written in the gospels? It couldn't, therefore he did preach what was in the gospel. In so doing disproving that the Quran is correct. But for a more detailed view on the Trinity I will do the following write up. We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Hoy Spirit he was born of the virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. Will be back for more. |
Yisrayl The african slavery is not a prophecy. The verses from the Torah you qouted did not apply to africans. Deu 24:7 ¶ If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Yisrayl, and makes merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.Um are you a descendant of Jacob? |
You have been offended by that church. I pray you can forgive them, and get healing from their hurt. But here's a Psalm for you Psalm 121 I raise my eyes toward the mountains. From where will my help come? My hellp comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth God will not allow you foot to slip; your guardian does not sleep. Truly the guardian of Isreal never slumbers noe sleeps The LORD is your guardian the LORD is your shade at your right hand By day the sun cannot harm you, nor the moon by night The LORD will guard you from all evil wll always guard your life The LORD will guard your coming and going both now and forever |
Thanks guys, but @ lucabrasi, do you know i went to see a junior pastor that is very close to the overseer pastor, and when i told him my plight, he looked sad but told me that their anniversary is extremely important to my pastor and his wife, and with the international summit coming up at the same period my mum is to be buried, then there is simply no way, any junior pastor can be assigned to my mum's wake keeping burial. My dear please take heart. I understand you're plight. My mum went through surgery earlier this year. No one from her church called her to see how she was doing. They called twice, but the first time they were calling to see if she could interpret swahili for them, she doesn't even speak the language. The second time they called to ask her if they could casha check of hers that they found she wrote last year and wanted to know if it was okay to withdraw it, she told them yes. The members of my parish where my mum lives were the ones to check on her and cook for her and they didn't even know her. But she still won't leave her church. It saddens me to say that I applaud you for leaving that church, but dear, a church should not belong to a man, but to God. Infact the Church is God's Church, because it is the body of Christ. Become a part of the body of Christ and not a man's church. I will keep you and your family and mum in my prayers. May the peace of Christ be with you all. May God hold your mother in his bosom. May all the saints and angels give you comfort in your time of grieving. "At dusk weping comes for the night, but at dawn there is rejoicing" Psalm 30:6 Look to the cross of the Lord. |
Try to reduce it for me to be able to reply on time.don't reply until i say i am done. If you do I will completely ignore you. |
