If we are a serious nation we should be asking what deal Atiku struck with the US to gain their backing   America does not take interest in something they don't profit from.

once upon a time they backed saddam for their interest and ousted him when he was not doing their bidding, Nouri Al-Maliki the present prime minister and members of his government are at the final stage of passing a bill that will see america drilling Iraqi oil and profiting to the tune of 75%.
History has it also how america backed Mobutu Seseseco in other to protect their business interest.

I think its hi-time we begin to ask Atiku what deal he struck and in who's interest, that he is getting all this backing from the US.

The latest pointer to this is the latest concerns by the US over the religious antecedents of Buhari and yaradua. Is that not an attempt to raise some funny issues which Nigerians may want to play down on in the run up to 2007 elections. Nigerians should watch out for  this, wherever Americans go they exacerbate issues like this while exploiting the situation to achieve their aim. They have put the Suni against the Shiites in Iraq.

Nigerians must not fall to this cheap plot.
