Naija I dey hail ooooo. man 's wickedness to man.

A chilling tale of a lady named Queen from Agbor, Delta State who lived under a bridge behind the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos for 15 years! Enslaved, constantly despoiled, infected with HIV and eventually died of the AIDS.  Queen had four children born to different men, as this documentary shows, her children were stolen. For 3 years, Yinka Ola-Williams investigated the whereabouts of the children, and in the process learnt about the booming child- sale and racketeering in orphanages in Nigeria. Through meticulous and relentless investigation he found her last baby alive!

Laminating machines goes for 6k. You can get a fairly used laser printer HP 4050 for 10k. A fairly used canon or sharp photocopier with capacity to enlarge and reduce also costs between 35k and 40k. A new cannon scanner is about 10k. Good luck.
BusinessRe: How Are The Lagos Government Projects Helping The Poor & Unemployed? by lagbaja(m): 6:23am On Oct 13, 2010
It will be unfair to rate the impact of the Fashola administration on the poor in isolation of Nigeria, the other constituent states and the other poor neighbouring countries. It is a known fact that the continous improvement in the quality of living in Lagos attracts droves of the poor from other poorer states and even from west africca. The impact of this is a falling GDP when measured at per with the rising population. The reason is not far fetched, most of the immigating poor pays little or no tax to the government.

To answer the question, I will, in relative terms, say 'Yes'. What was d state of the poor in Lagos before the advent of the Fashola administration. How much is spent on programmes that impacts directly on the poor. What fraction of the state revenue goes into programmes that impacts directly on the poor ?. 7 years ago, the administration started with an IGR of N5Biliion per month, today, with credit to the admin, the IGR have been upscaled to N15B. That is a great leap with which to take up a lot of projects that impacts on the poor and that is exactly what is being done. I wont need to mention all, because it has already been done. Untill similar developments are experienced in other states. The Lagos GDP will continously drop inspite of obvious infracstructural upgrade.

Battle for soul of Lagos: Fashola settles lawmakers with N1.5bn

The cat and rat game between the executive and legislative arms of government in Lagos State over the battle for control of Lagos State seems to be fading out as Governor Babatunde Fashola and the House of Assembly members are now in good term after the governor has allegedly greased the palms of the lawmakers with about N1.5 billion to win their support in his quest for a second term in office.
It will be recalled that few months ago, the relationship between Fashola and the lawmakers, who are loyal to his predecessor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was sour until the intervention of some prominent chieftains of the then Action Congress (AC) who persuaded the governor to dance to the tune of the lawmakers for him to win their support.
According to Weekend News Star investigation, for Fashola to silence the lawmakers, he allegedly gave N35 million to each of the 40 members of the House of Assembly and the money was said to be given in US dollars, while the leadership of the House got more for them to sheathe their swords against Fashola.
It was gathered that Fashola was forced to succumb to the lawmakers when it became clear to him that the Tinubu camp was about to instigate the House of Assembly to commence impeachment process against him, by raising some allegations bordering on the governor’s mode of operation and award of contracts.
With the development, Fashola has now been given 80 per cent assurance to run for second term by the lawmakers.
Therefore, ahead of the 2011 general elections in Lagos State, the battle for the soul of the state between Fashola and Tinubu is taking another dimension as both of them have commenced plans to stop each other from having total control of the state, especially the Lagos State House of Assembly come 2011.
Investigation by Weekend News Star revealed that Fashola and Tinubu who have been at loggerheads in the last few months over the 2011 governorship election are now having sleepless nights, planning to outdo each other in the coming elections to have the total control of the state.
Fashola is working tirelessly to achieve his second term ambition, while Tinubu is plotting to stop him by rooting for another candidate to replace the incumbent.
According to a reliable source (name withheld), the battle for the soul of Lagos State in 2011 has now shifted to the state House of Assembly as both Tinubu and Fashola are planning to install their loyalists in the House of Assembly for them to have total control of the state.
Meanwhile, Fashola who is bent on running for a second term despite persuasion from Tinubu’s camp to abandon his governorship ambition and run for the position of the vice president or go for a seat in the Senate has now made it clear that for him to govern the state without distraction, he will work tirelessly to ensure that his loyalists are elected as members of the state House of Assembly in 2011.
The fear in Tinubu’s camp that if Fashola should have his way and be given the majority in the House of Assembly, he will be able to fight Tinubu to a standstill because presently Tinubu has about 35 members of the House on his side.
“Tinubu is calculating seriously how to stop Fashola from having total control of the state from in 2011 because he believes that Fashola will fight him if he gets the second term ticket.  This is because of his credible performance in the state in the last three years, beating Tinubu’s records,” a source disclosed to Weekend News Star.
The major trick to sway Fashola from contesting is the dummy that he should forget his second term ambition and be a running mate to former EFCC chairman, Mr. Nuhu Ribadu, who is likely to get the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) presidential ticket. When that attempt failed, they  told him to run for the Senate on account that his voice would be more respected on national issues, considering his background and vast experience in constitutional matters.
Fashola, however, turned down the two offers on account that he would not leave certainty to pursue uncertainty since he was sure he would win the 2011 governorship election.

Just like others have a right to praise fashola, you also have a right to critic him for what you think he hasd failed to do. My only worry about your post is its lack of balance. you could have compared him with any previous governor of the state or any other state governor to drive home your point.
As it is,your post appear as a delibrate smear campain.

While you chose to pick a couple of bad roads to display, you delibertely refused to talk about the many roads that have been done and are still undergoing construction. We all know that it is not possible to fix all the bad roads all at the same time, it has to be one after the other as the resources to do them becomes available. In recent reports, Lagos have been described as one of the destinations around the world with the highest number of ongoing constructions. Have you been to the Mile2- Badagry Express Rd. recently, have u also seen the activities going on at the Eko Atlantic City (this is expected to increase the IGR of the state), what about the Lekki Express road, what about the several link roads on-going across the state.
Unfortunately, Lack of objectivity has taken away shine from your post

http://g.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/world-cup/blog/dirty-tackle/post/Nigeria-suspends-national-team-for-poor-World-Cu?urn=sow,252542

Nigeria lost its first two World Cup group stage matches but still came just one goal short of advancing with their draw against South Korea. As one of the more heavily favored African nations, the early elimination was certainly a disappointment. So how is Nigeria handling that disappointment?

From the BBC:

Nigeria's president has suspended his nation's football team from international competition for two years after a poor showing at the World Cup.

Special presidential adviser Ima Niboro told reporters the decision by Goodluck Jonathan will "enable Nigeria to reorganize its football."

He said: "This directive became necessary following Nigeria's poor performance in the ongoing World Cup."

Of course. How do you improve an underachieving team? Ban it from competing for two whole years. Spur them on to playing better by not allowing them to play at all. Maybe England should try that.

Now, FIFA probably won't like this given its distaste for government meddling in the national team, so maybe Nigeria should try suspending FIFA, too. It might work. I mean, how do you say no to a guy named Goodluck Jonathan?
PoliticsRe: The Next Economic Hub. Minna Airport City. Minna-bida-abuja Cornurbation by lagbaja(m): 2:11pm On Jun 27, 2010
if like you suggested, Minna and Bida are the next wealth destinations, i believe investors would have instinctly trooped in the droves to the areas irrespective of the presence of the proposed 3 lane highway.

The first question to ask is if Abuja is truly a gold mine. The last time i checked the answer is still a No. Abuja's economy rely absolutely on the goverment. Most workers in abuja are civil servants. No wonder social activitives are at the lowest ebb during weekends.

Abuja does not have any economic stay. No water ways. No abundant natural resources to explore. No world class tourist attreactions, no productive sector activities. Abuja relies on other states for its sustenance. Why do you think investors prefers either to go to Lagos or port-Harcourt, why do we have 25 head offices of the banks in Nigeria located in Lagos. Investors will take their money to only places where returns and economic activities are guaranteed.

If Abuja cant stand on itself, what then do you expect of Minna and Bida ?

Argentina’s goal against Nigeria in their group B encounter last Saturday, should have been disallowed by German referee Wolfgang Stark.

ILLEGAL GOAL , Chidi Odiah jumps to stop Gabriel Heinze of Argentina's header into the top corner of the net as goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama looks on in a Group B match between Argentina and Nigeria at Ellis Park Stadium on June 12, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Referees' committee says the goal was illegal. Photo by Getty Images
A FIFA post-match analysis ruled that there was a foul in the build-up to Gabriel Heinze’s stunning header, and that Stark should never have allowed the goal.

The FIFA referees’ committee released their findings on Tuesday, as a guide for future judgements in this year’s tournament. And amongst other rulings, they made it clear to referees that they must watch for infractions at corners and free-kicks — specifically attacking players blocking markers, as happened on Saturday.

As Juan Sebastian Veron’s cross floated over Walter, Samuel enveloped Chinedu Obasi and stopped him from moving, thereby giving Heinze all the space he needed to propel the ball home. Stark should have therefore penalised Samuel for obstruction and awarded a free-kick to the Super Eagles — a judgement that could have changed the course of the whole game for Argentina.

Although the ruling comes too late for Nigeria, it has interesting implications for the rest of the tournament; a sign that FIFA will not tolerate the pushing, shoving and holding commonplace on both sides at dead-ball situations, and that in future such offences will be punished with either disallowed goals or penalties in the case of the defence committing an infraction
