It is a known provable FACT that Majority of Nigerians are aware of the Truth but will rather have their beliefs founded on weak lies. It is a case of Mass-mental psychosis that has affected over 100 million Nigerians. The only country where when truth is presented, the very people whom it is meant to benefit, kick against it and hold up lies to defend themselves. I pity Nigerians - Our end is inevitable, break-down in civility has already begun and it will reach a climax, when the truth will no longer be avoidable because it will be plunging knives into our bellies as we hold on to lies. @%#$ ignorant Nigerians
Politics › Re: Breaking News Tambuwal, Belgore Blame Foreign Powers For Nigeria's WOES by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 9:13am On Aug 04, 2011
Tambuwal has always been a dolt of pedestrian intelligence, unfortunately we all are involved in voting in absolute cretins into positions of power and when they do what is only within their intellectual capacity to do, we start complaining. Belgore on the other hand I would expect much from him, sadly he has fallen afar from the intelligentsia. He among our nation's founding fathers, ZIK, AWO, BALEWA and the rest of the greedy, self-serving ingrates we now deem heroes built the very unstable political foundations causing chaos in this country today.

Belgore and Tambuwal! it is common knowledge that there is a healthy market for Weapons-Smuggling all around hot spots in Africa, and this is driven by cold hard Ca$h. It is not the US or Europe that wants Nigeria to breakup, Breakup is inevitable slow-death. fortunately this crisis will accelerate the process.

These buffoons memories only go as far as the 60s their understanding of the realities of today are in black and white. that is why we have zero Foreign Policy initiatives and always sound like baboons on the International scene thanks to Ojo Madueke

Politics › Re: Why Are Teenagers So Stupid And Oblivious To Politics? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 6:17pm On Aug 03, 2011
@OP I share your sentiments exactly, a lot of posters even on NL Politics section do not realize the critical importance of Politics to Living in all its entirety. Politics has been in the fabric of society since the time of Adam/Eve. it is a state of discernment known as Political Awareness. It is the very essence of living as a Society. Teenagers these days are barely literate when it comes to Political Awareness, they know the reasons behind voting/elections but fail to value the importance of justifying why they vote from a political standpoint. to them it is simply a civic duty one must perform. the depths of Political Awareness in our teens is so shallow and can be seen in the mindless political rants and one-way traffic opinions we see daily on NL. It amounts only to Political Information thus little Knowledge is shared and little Wisdom gained. Our Youths are just cannon-fodder for the corrupt polity we see today.

Religion (Sister to Politics) on the other hand is more to their liking because it speaks to their individuality. Politics speaks to Society which is why Political Awareness is more important than Religion of any sort.  It is what enables the citizens to know their leaders and know how far they can go with their civil rights and why things must work as expected. We are sadly breeding a generation of jean-sagging boys, butt-flashing girls and MTV-addicted youths who care little for Political Awareness- I hear there are few among the minions but i do not see their contribution to building an institution of Politically-Aware citizens who can tell can use constitutional means to remove a bad leader long before he has done the sort of damage we see everyday.

vedaxcool:
It is very srange how persons can decide to ignore hard laid facts, it becomes clear how people use dual standards when it becomes to judging matters. lets see the legacy of state atheism:

Religious legacy of state atheism

Author Niels Christian Nielsen has written that the post-Soviet population in areas which were formerly predominantly Orthodox are now "nearly illiterate regarding religion", almost completely lacking the intellectual or philosophical aspects of their faith and having almost no knowledge of other faiths.

It becomes clear that the atheists in the soviet union were out to destroy religion, iT becomes clear that extreme actions are not dependent on being in one religion or the other, the atheist in the soviet union literal murdered people that believe there is a GOD that is worthy of worship, incidents like these undermines the inept arguement of atheist who use violence to discredit religion, they can no explaining away of violence done by atheist, noteworthy is that violence done in the name of atheism is usually cruel and inhumane, literally leading to massacres.
True for post-soviet; atheism as an institution of social thought. those were violent times indeed. Would you say the same for these times. is Social thought or Religious preference the cause violence we see, hear and breath everyday?

Are you saying we are not duty bound as upright citizens to monitor their excesses?

I shudder at this kind of reasoning that stands logic on its head. angry
grin grin grin he was just being sarcastic - but seriously our duty as citizens goes beyond monitoring or saying something. we must do something about it otherwise we are just arm-chair activists - who talk a lot and do nothing. Nigerians have said a lot and aired their protests as far back as i can remember, I doubt that has influenced the decisions of our elected leaders positively. they do whatever they please and we just monitor and rain curses. most simply go back to work

What is important is not what we think about our leaders actions - it will only stay in our heads. What is important is how we act going forward. Do you all realize how many Nigerians a senator's allowances can cater for in a month.? our public officers are barely doing anything new to politics yet we all sit back and think that the FEC meetings are sophisticated problem-solving sessions. these dolts have barely enough intelligence to pass GCE without preparing for it in advance - yet they their sentimental decisions control our lives. I am not sure who to blame now - the useless dolts running Nigeria or the Nigerians who sit back as if the hot charcoal on their backs have no effect  angry
Sports › Re: Easiest Position To Play In Football? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 8:17pm On Jul 31, 2011
@posters, you think football is easy based on positions, how simplistic. each position is as difficult individually. as long as players play as a team it becomes easier to play your position. If the striker is feed with good passes regularly, he does not need to work much because his mid-field is doing it for him. If the defense is working as a team, the mid-field will find it easier to manage the forward/backward field play. and the goal-keeper will relax and concentrate on guarding his area.

The easiest position in soccer is in the aisle. the position of a spectator, they see everything before it happens without lifting a finger or kicking the ball grin

Martian:
On theists and their lies,  smiley

Stop trying to lump Hitler with atheism. You're not talking to your congregations or fellow believers, so all your lies won't be taken as absolute facts.

In Mein Kampf, Hitler listed Martin Luther as one of the greatest reformers. And similar to Luther in the 1500s, Hitler spoke against the Jews. The Nazi plan to create a German Reich Church laid its bases on the "Spirit of Dr. Martin Luther." The first physical violence against the Jews came on November 9-10 on Kristallnacht (Crystal Night) where the Nazis killed Jews, shattered glass windows, and destroyed hundreds of synagogues, just as Luther had proposed. In Daniel Johah Goldhagen's book, Hitler's Willing Executioners, he writes:

"One leading Protestant churchman, Bishop Martin Sasse published a compendium of Martin Luther's antisemitic vitriol shortly after Kristallnacht's SinParty of anti-Jewish violence. In the foreword to the volume, he applauded the burning of the synagogues and the coincidence of the day: 'On November 10, 1938, on Luther's birthday, the synagogues are burning in Germany.' The German people, he urged, ought to heed these words 'of the greatest antisemite of his time, the warner of his people against the Jews.'"

A quick quote from the man who caused the split of Jesus' church, "Did I not tell you earlier that a jew is such a noble, precious jewel that God and all the angels dance when he farts?"
Martin Luther, On Jews and their lies, 1543.

That's Hitler's inspiration. Not Nietzsche.

God is Dead- Nietzsche grin

He died when logic and reason were applied
unfortunately a great majority are blissfully unaware of a simple truth and wish to see it through the veil of religion and faith. per chance it begins to crumble and sway to the relentless attrition of knowledge and reason (or even common-sense) - then the devil (as foretold) has swung his evil tail of tribulation and deception across the path of God's prodigal orphans. Religious reason must stubbornly entrench itself; rooted to the fallow soil of old tradition as it sucks out the air of insight from the lungs of the voices that cried out "The Earth is round and is not the center of the universe".

Atheists are equally as stubborn as Theists and you can liken their situation to that of two drunks (high on different spirits of knowledge and awareness) who argue with a lamp-post in the middle of the road  huh . of what value are your beliefs if it costs humanity more harm than good, more regression that progression, more sadness than happiness. Divinity matters naught if it promises Heaven on Earth but delivers Hell. what matters is what legacy we live to humanity, what knowledge we build for the future of man,s "endless journey".

Tragedy often hides true intent, and the more the public becomes sentimental, the more difficult it becomes for the Police detectives to direct their investigations in an objective and fact-finding manner. not that they have the intelligence to solve crimes that are not so obvious huh

Only in Nigeria will such a decision take root without adequate preparation., If you have statistics of crimes committed by Okada users then you would have already budgeted and acquired alternate transport before forcing the ban. does he mean crimes cannot be committed by drivers or tricycles and cars?

N50,000 is a one-time pay-off, the Okada owners make sustained income from their Okada, why not introduce small-scale farming (cheap lands, subsidized fertilizer and farm implements) at least the poor ones who have lost their jobs can have a means not only to sustain their livelihood but also give back to the state. I reckon more money will be spent on TINAPA and the yearly masquerade carnivals instead angry but hey, I am not the Governor
