Christianity Etc › Re: Everybody In Nigeria Born Again? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 5:34pm On Jan 13, 2011
@OP i figure you just wanted a general consensus about the righteousness of Nigerians as a people. IMHO i would say 1 in 100,000 Nigerian is really born again. otherwise God would not have turned his face from our travails if in ancient times the prayers of 1 righteous man was enough to avert divine disaster
Christianity Etc › Re: Dislike For Religious Hypocrisy by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 5:25pm On Jan 13, 2011
@yommyyuk, the situation of Spiritual leaders of late is that a good majority as you point out are definitely cut away from true Christianity as a Way of Life (Practice of Righteousness at all levels of Life) and are now avowed Religion-practitioners (Practices of Dogma and Doctrines as a Way of Life)

As in the life and times of Jesus, you can easily know these rug-rats of religion by the way they call attention to themselves with fancy clothing an air of pride. Jesus compared them to tombs that had been painted with whitewash and looked very beautiful on the outside, but in reality they were like graves full of dead men's bones. These men would even kill the prophets that God had sent, if they didn't want to hear the message they brought. They were very proud of themselves and wore long robes with broad borders, or fringes on them to show their importance. They wanted to get the best seats in the synagogues, the places of worship. They loved for people to call them "Rabbi", or teacher, and they would pray long prayers out in public just for people to see them.

Sadly the common folks till date look up to such Spiritual leaders as very religious.

^^^ there is a point in a Man of God's life where he has ambitions of God-hood and starts thinking the anointing has flowed long enough for him to stand on the strength of his words alone. He is only human but lately has failed to become aware of that FACT. Moses did, Elisha and Professor Peller

@Mudley, do you have insider information you are dishing out piece-meal, come'on out with it  grin

Confrontation usually means No Compromise- No Understanding, it means "We no go gree", it means "My way or The High-way", it means "You are hereby accused" and If you are familiar with Man right from the days of Adam. the first reaction is Denial and Blame-shifting and God was not being confrontational then . like Joagbaje pointed out, Love and Humility

BLACK African Nations especially ones who have long been unshackled from imperial colonialism have continued to sink in poverty and retrogression. only few with elements of races remnants of colonial powers like Southern African nations have remained forward-looking. the rest Blacks are steeped in corruption, ethnic and religious violence, more corruption, dictatorships, cannibalism, stupidity, squander, squalor, political backwardness etc. I hardly think Ghana will be any different, unless they are a rare breed of Black race

Family › Re: Are Girls More Difficult To Train Than Boys? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 5:49pm On Jan 12, 2011
@OP, children are a bundle to train, they can be trouble in their early days, boys or girls. but one thing is certain. most societies are male-dominated and most of your points are really some stereotypes established and sustained by a male-dominated society. it is why you see that most men avoid successful, intelligent and beautiful independent women. these ones were not given any extra-special girl-focused attention. i am sure they were given equal attention just like the boys.

Male-dominated societies are insecure of the fact that biologically, females mature much quicker than males the same age and this can pose a problem. so they give you that story that girls are harder to train so you need to buy em more clothes, give em money when they want and teach them to care about their looks (rather than intelligence) so they can find a husband easily and settle down to have kids angry give a girl equal footing as a boy child when growing up, chances are she'll be better off. guys always seem to rough their way through anything growing up, why not give a girl child the same benefit of doubt and train them equally?
Politics › Re: Sudan Breaking Into 2 by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 3:08pm On Jan 12, 2011
wishful thinking to think Nigeria will split into North and South. for Sudan it is a Religious problem. I hope y'all have not been decieved into thinking that Nigeria's religion-tainted conflicts are actually over Islam and Christianity? tsk tsk tsk. Why are muslims in the south not whipping out their machetes and gutting people on the streets. It is a Hausa/Fulani-North and Others Nigerians conflict.

Nigeria's History is replete with events that show a centrally-dominated Sokoto-Caliphate/Islamic style leadership in Northern Regions, unfortunately the non-conformity of the Southern Regions to this style of leadership is causing severe dissent among Northerners who believe the rest of Nigeria must heel to their Rule 4Ever. Unlike Sudan, Northerners have seeped deep into this Nations key agencies, Army, Navy, Police, Customs, Immigration, NDLEA, Maritme, Printing and Mint, Central Bank, NNPC. they are at the top echelons of leadership and lower cadres as well.

They have the means and power to stop any split and at the same time raise the level of political ambitions under the guise of religious conflicts.

The docile south is just too docile to do anything except donate billions to their pastors and keep the peace with their muslim brothers up north.
Politics › Re: A Letter To All Nigerian Jihadists And Their Sympathisers. by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 2:45pm On Jan 12, 2011
@OP. i don't know why i figured you to be a hardcore, islamic extremist, i must have mistaken you for someone else using your nl id.

The problem with Islamic Fundamentalism or Extremism has little to do with the influence of the so-called Extremists often termed as a minority. It has much to do with the naive and blissful self-deception of Muslims who consider this group of extremists as a minority. They have so-far managed to impact the entire planet on such a humoungous scale than so-called Peaceful Islamist will ever be able to do.

The Majority of Peaceful Muslims are simply not doing anything about their "barbaric" brothers. unless, they are actually a dying minority and not the other way round.

Libya's President may not be insanely wrong after all. if religion is the problem then let us split like Sudan, North Nigeria and South Nigeria. smiley
This one na walkover! As long as she's Mrs Tinubu, its a no-brainer! Let's see what she has to offer,
The question is what does she have to offer, we often fall for the trap of Wait-and-See only to realize that the Politician will sit through their tenure and achieve nothing inside (and outside) the Electoral Mandate they got from the voters. We never ask ourselves a simple question, what has she done before now that merits a seat at the Senate. what are her leadership antecedents. let us separate her from Tinubu. what has she done in the past that will suddenly change what she will promise to do in the future. If you are not capable of handling lesser positions, why should you be entrusted with a higher position.

ACN has already become the PDP monster she claims to fight, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a party tyrant and dictator (worst combination)

Oh pleeease. You guys have started again with all these delusionary and childish talk about unearned 'trust' and insecurity blah blah. Trust is earned, not a right! Why should any mere mortal be trusted gratuitously? Most of ya'll fail to realize that such foolishly given trust is often taken as LICENSE to embark on a misbehaviour spree. There's nothing wrong in taking proactive steps to protect one's wife and one's own ego. Trust has nothing to do with anything because she is only human and can FORK UP if given a free hand.

>>>after now, when it is discovered that she started an affair with Jim Iyke on a movie set, people would start talking poo about forgiveness, and how her husband is mean for kicking her out. SMH!

If you cannot trust the girl you are marrying to act-right in her chosen career, then you might as well buy her new friends and a new career that beats the heck out of the old one.  and hope she acts right in that new career, you insecure excuse for a husband-to-be  angry

Religious leaders not doing enough?
I know that every man is attempting to do his best for this country. We should not hang the fault on religious leaders. People patronize them. If you stop going to their shops, they will close down that shop. That is it.
^^^ grin
