PoliticsRe: LASG To Seize Vehicles Parked On Sidewalk by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 11:25am On Nov 20, 2012
Why are some posters seemingly mentally recalcitrant when dealing with Social issues. Human beings live in Lagos and of varying economic levels, regardless most contribute to the well-being of Lagos. You can drive around Victoria Island for 2hrs and not find a single meter of parking space. You will not find a LASG-funded Commercial Parking Space either, but you will find a lot of Mobile LASTMA and Council Offices for every Km. you guessed it--- Parked on the side-walk. I just have one question and it is not tribalistic neither is it flippant and people-unfriendly. Has the Lagos State Government provided enough secure commercial parking spaces to cater for the fast-growing population of private car-owners, is she planning to expand or should people park inside their office cubicles when they run out of options. huh Haba.. Car Tax is collected on each car bought by a Lagosian and licensing and various levies and dues are paid by each private car owner each year.. at least they deserve as much.
If everything about Lagos is Go-back to your Village or enter BRT to work (after a 2hr wait), how come even the shortest public holiday makes Lagos look like a deserted carnival cave with a few open-air joints selling kpafun or is it lafun with poorly cooked oily vegetable soup grin grin

Nairaland GeneralRe: Are The Young People Of Today Very Lazy And Materialistic? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 1:31pm On Nov 17, 2012
Well the evidence is laid our bare for all to see. Are Nigeria's youths lazy, unintelligent and materialistic.? If you are making a valid generalization.. YES 100%. You cannot use a small pool of the Chimamanda, 2Face and other successful young entrepreneurs to make a factual judgment on Nigeria's Youths.. you can simply take a walk and engage the first 20 youths the first 1km. you will surely agree that at least 18 are unemployed and would not further their education to get a chance at getting a better job, they would rather be cleaners or loaf about, go to the beach, clubs, sag their jeans, wear nerdy eye-wear and listen to music. The Nigerian Society is not helping matters either.. every youth-centered campaign is around Maltina, Big Brother Africa, Gulder Ultimate Search, Dance this and Dance that.. nothing around EDUCATION.. how else can the Nigerian Youth not be LAZY, and MATERIALISTIC

The dynamics of a revolution has evolved since the movement in the sands of Egypts (LET MY PEOPLE GO). grin
I cannot post in detail (I have been banned severally) but yes you can have revolution in Nigeria.. a sweeping movement that will bring about a complete annihilation of corrupt institutions and the reigning government of our time as well as ensure that the nation that rises from the ashes is well-equipped to grow and stand proudly among the league of nations as a progressive economy, one to be emulated as truly a Giant of Africa. like i said, i will be banned. wink
PoliticsRe: Reno Omokri Attacks Elrufai Again(pix) by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 4:58pm On Nov 16, 2012
ehie: One of today's pet Indisputable Historical Truths is that the German Chancellor Adolf Hitler advocated the "Big Lie Technique" to discredit and confuse one's political opponents.

NOW WHAT TYPE OF PROPAGANDA DORENO OMKRI AND CO USE?

Ad hominem
A Latin phrase that has come to mean attacking one's opponent, as opposed to attacking their arguments.
Ad nauseam

This argument approach uses tireless repetition of an idea. An idea, especially a simple slogan, that is repeated enough times, may begin to be taken as the truth. This approach works best when media sources are limited or controlled by the propagator.

Appeal to authority
Appeals to authority cite prominent figures to support a position, idea, argument, or course of action.

Appeal to fear
Appeals to fear and seeks to build support by instilling anxieties and panic in the general population, for example, Joseph Goebbels exploited Theodore Kaufman's Germany Must Perish! to claim that the Allies sought the extermination of the German people.

Appeal to prejudice
Using loaded or emotive terms to attach value or moral goodness to believing the proposition. Used in biased or misleading ways.
Bandwagon
Bandwagon and "inevitable-victory" appeals attempt to persuade the target audience to join in and take the course of action that "everyone else is taking".

Inevitable victory
Invites those not already on the bandwagon to join those already on the road to certain victory. Those already or at least partially on the bandwagon are reassured that staying aboard is their best course of action.
Join the crowd
This technique reinforces people's natural desire to be on the winning side. This technique is used to convince the audience that a program is an expression of an irresistible mass movement and that it is in their best interest to join.

Getting What He Deserves.

The Lie
The repeated articulation of a complex of events that justify subsequent action. The descriptions of these events have elements of truth, and the "big lie" generalizations merge and eventually supplant the public's accurate perception of the underlying events. After World War I the German Stab in the back explanation of the cause of their defeat became a justification for Nazi re-militarization and revanchist aggression.
Black-and-white fallacy
Presenting only two choices, with the product or idea being propagated as the better choice. For example: "You're either with us, or against us...."

Classical conditioning
All vertebrates, including humans, respond to classical conditioning. That is, if object A is always present when object B is present and object B causes a negative physical reaction (e.g., disgust, pleasure) then we will when presented with object A when object B is not present, we will experience the same feelings.
Cognitive dissonance
People desire to be consistent. Suppose a pollster finds that a certain group of people hates his candidate for senator but loves actor A. They use actor A's endorsement of their candidate to change people's minds because people cannot tolerate inconsistency. They are forced to either to dislike the actor or like the candidate.

Demonizing the enemy
Making individuals from the opposing nation, from a different ethnic group, or those who support the opposing viewpoint appear to be subhuman (e.g., the Vietnam War-era term "gooks" for National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam aka Vietcong, or "VC", soldiers), worthless, or immoral, through suggestion or false accusations. Dehumanizing is also a termed used synonymously with demonizing, the latter usually serves as an aspect of the former.EG,BUHARI IS A TERRORIST,EL RUFAI IS CORRUPT,RIBADU IS CORRUPT,YARADUA IS TOO SLOW
.
Half-truth
A half-truth is a deceptive statement, which may come in several forms and includes some element of truth. The statement might be partly true, the statement may be totally true but only part of the whole truth, or it may utilize some deceptive element, such as improper punctuation, or double meaning, especially if the intent is to deceive, evade, blame or misrepresent the truth.

Labeling
A euphemism is used when the propagandist attempts to increase the perceived quality, credibility, or credence of a particular ideal. A Dysphemism is used when the intent of the propagandist is to discredit, diminish the perceived quality, or hurt the perceived righteousness of the Mark. By creating a "label" or "category" or "faction" of a population, it is much easier to make an example of these larger bodies, because they can uplift or defame the Mark without actually incurring legal-defamation. Example: "Liberal" is a dysphemism intended to diminish the perceived credibility of a particular Mark. By taking a displeasing argument presented by a Mark, the propagandist can quote that person, and then attack "liberals" in an attempt to both (1) create a political battle-ax of unaccountable aggression and (2) diminish the quality of the Mark. If the propagandist uses the label on too-many perceivably credible individuals, muddying up the word can be done by broadcasting bad-examples of "liberals" into the media. Labeling can be thought of as a sub-set of Guilt by association, another logical fallacy.

Latitudes of acceptance

If a person's message is outside the bounds of acceptance for an individual and group, most techniques will engender psychological reactance (simply hearing the argument will make the message even less acceptable). There are two techniques for increasing the bounds of acceptance. First, one can take a more even extreme position that will make more moderate positions seem more acceptable. This is similar to the Door-in-the-Face technique. Alternatively, one can moderate one's own position to the edge of the latitude of acceptance and then over time slowly move to the position that was previously.[10]

Lying and deception
Lying and deception can be the basis of many propaganda techniques including Ad Homimen arguments, Big-Lie, Defamation, Door-in-the-Face, Half-truth, Name-calling or any other technique that is based on dishonesty or deception. For example, many politicians have been found to frequently stretch or break the truth.

BEAF AND CO ARE CHAMPIONS IN THIS AREA

Name-calling
Propagandists use the name-calling technique to incite fears and arouse prejudices in their hearers in the intent that the bad names will cause hearers to construct a negative opinion about a group or set of beliefs or ideas that the propagandist wants hearers to denounce. The method is intended to provoke conclusions about a matter apart from impartial examinations of facts. Name-calling is thus a substitute for rational, fact-based arguments against the an idea or belief on its own merits.[13]
Obfuscation, intentional vagueness, confusion
Generalities are deliberately vague so that the audience may supply its own interpretations. The intention is to move the audience by use of undefined phrases, without analyzing their validity or attempting to determine their reasonableness or application. The intent is to cause people to draw their own interpretations rather than simply being presented with an explicit idea. In trying to "figure out" the propaganda, the audience forgoes judgment of the ideas presented. Their validity, reasonableness and application may still be considered.
We need more Nigerians like you in this quest to rescue and rebuild the nation

Ricoluv: The press war raging between Dr Cosmas Maduka of Coscharis Group and Mr.Ifeanyi Uba of Capital oil and gas Ltd is one which has been in the news for some weeks now.
It is sad to see two brothers of Nnewi origin, descend so low as to engage in a public mudslinging and image defamation contest
I for one am disappointed in the way Dr. Maduka has chosen to make public this issue know fully well that the consequences of a full investigation would be dire for him and Access bank.
Dr. Maduka, being a non-executive director in the bank, has been using his position to extend credit to Capital oil and gas to which he and Ifeanyi Uba have been enjoying the proceeds.
Here lies his mistake.
As a member of the board of directors of Access bank, he is prohibited by law to influence any credit facility for which he has a personal interest in.(BOFIA Act,1991.sect,17 subsection 1a.).
Also, with the recent directive from CBN to all banks, restricting credit dealings with Capital Oil ltd, this is about the wrongest time for Dr. Cosmas to fall out publicly with Mr.Uba.

Looking at the whole thing playing out, I just hope that these two men would sheath swords and try to resolve their differences amicably.
So True.. you are right about that.. but do you think for one second that thsi will matter when AIG is in deep with GEJ, have you forgotten the Intercontinental Bank sale? Access Bank is a CABAL roosting ground

3: GEJ Cancels Manitoba/TCM Contract on BPE's insistence that a 5-year review and due diligence was not enough and some irregularities and breach of Due Process
4: GEJ and a Team of Experts (origins unknown at this point) begin to review the Manitoba/TCM contracts 3 days after it was unequivocally cancelled.

OLAADEGBU grin grin patient, unrelenting pastor.. I think the more Christians delve into the occult the more stuff like this comes out. granted there are regions of the human mind that are still yet to be understood, there are practices (forbidden by God) that you can use to explore these regions. OBEs can occur in some traumatic instances but they can also be induced intentionally. Hell is real depending on how much gap between reality and actual depth of information available to your mind about Life (Energy) itself.

Imagine exposing human consciousness to an ant, without proper enlightenment and proper conditioning, Hell/Heaven will be all that the ant in its unprepared and finite state will experience. I often wonder why these Hell/Heaven travelers always seem limited by physical structures even when they are not in a physical body.. they experience smell, walk instead of appear/disappear or phase-in/phase-out. there are doors, handle-bars.. i mean have you got carpenters and brick-layers like a regular hell we are in presently.. gosh

I still believe that if we remain united and we kick indiscipline out of Nigeria/ Africa , we will solve our problems and no foreigner will solve it for us.
This is idealistic however the reality is no nation has ever grown to its pinnacle without foreign investment.
