Gbawe: Well, he has plenty of shoes now and he appears hell-bent on using Nigeria's wealth to buy shoes for all the miscreants, AGIPs and blackmailers in society.That would be ascribing too much initiative to GEJ where there is none. He is not hell-bent, he simply wavers to any side that says NO twice. If he tries to resist MEND and they say NO, NO he gives them amnesty, If he tries to resist corrupt oil marketers and they say NO, NO he pays up. people.. we must learn to dump our over-zealous allegiances and alliances to party, tribe, individuals and events in favor of vision. in spite of our vaunted intellect, we continue to fight over rotten seeds like over-sized chickens in a decrepit cage. We must learn to push for worthy Ideals that create or strengthen existing institutions. Chrome Energy CEO Emeka Offor claims he performed TAM on each of our refineries before they bulked under the weight of incessant break-downs. all he has to show for it are job completion certificates he only recently revealed after more than 15 years of uncomfortable probes for evidence that his company actually did the job. the stark truth is that he did not. Apparently he has become a magnanimous hero of sorts in Nigeria. We adore dangerous criminals and lynch pick-pockets, our collective conscience tolerates religious LovePeddler-mongers (FYI MOGs), murderers, terrorists and kidnappers yet we have little patience for Doctors, Teachers and Charity-workers. We celebrate mediocrity and trample on calls to Change the Life of this Nation for Good. It seems we enjoy the scalding heat of the sun when we are most fevered, we enjoy thirsting for mud when there is water to drink. When we cease to Think and Act like our wicked leadership feel we should. we can begin to expect change that starts from the ground up. Nation-building is not stuff for intolerant citizens outside a mansion, fighting for scraps when the meal has long been consumed and the master lying comfy in his bed. People. please give it a thought to change your Thoughts and Actions for the Collective Good of this Nation. Peace |
