Christianity EtcRe: Atheists: Do You Believe In Extra-terrestials? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 3:59pm On Jul 23, 2012
nyameke: Aliens are actually light beings or spiritual beings that exist in a much higher dimensions than ours.. Most of our visitors are actually fallen angels. Because they are spiritual beings capable of taking on any form that's why they sometimes appear as reptilian forms and small grey creatures with large heads at other times. But in their truest form, they are pure light beings with humanoid shape. In biblical terms, the stars of the universe signify angelic entities. When you know the nature of angelic existence, you will find it very similar to the nature of aliens because they are one and the same. Higher dimensional reality is spiritual and mental reality.

The agenda of these angelic aliens is to help humanity evolve spiritually. They are here to assist the ascension of planet earth. Their constant interactions with humans are to open up our minds to the worlds beyond our own and to alter our genetic codes. Its like Noah’s time where fallen angels merged with humanity.
They seek to raise our collective consciousness towards mass enlightenment so that our earth vibrations will become more forth dimensional instead of three.

Half of what the aliens are doing is right while the other half is wrong. It is a good thing for them to aid us in our evolution, but much of these alien interventions are done by fallen angels. The true angels usually don’t intervene with humanity in this manner
Please gi me some somethn grin

ROSSIKE: Most definitely. That's exactly what they're trying to do. Preparing the people for Full Disclosure.
It is gradual immersion of the FACT (I think the idea already exists through ancient history) - I think it is becoming painfully obvious that we are not alone (f'course we have got the Bumper-sticker Christians and flag-burning Islamist for company)

Taxes from ticket sales and memorabilia goes to the state, taxes from visiting tourists goes to the state, money spent inside the state by tourists goes into the local economy and businesses.

The key to any sort of investigative endevor is the availability of verifiable information. It does not have to be much, but if you have critical information that can link Mustapha directly to Abacha's death then you will need witnesses who last saw or engaged him via phone or physically - the indian biatches grin

Christianity EtcRe: Is Morality Possible Without An Authoritative Source? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 1:12pm On Jul 17, 2012
The answer to your question is the God's nature as shown in the bible. He is the source of morality

The love you describe here has no definite character, how can this love which is subject to emotion and perception be a valid universal moral tenet?
Your love brings us back to the problem of not being able to define exactly what is right and wrong since it in itself can be thought to be hate by another person.
OK. i have kept a straight-face through all this - I give myself some credit. grin

I do not agree that Morality is impossible without God.
1: God's Nature is Human (or Human Nature is derived from God's) as documented in the Bible and as evidenced throughout History - "we" are created in his image Spirit, Soul and Body
2: Human Nature is Fluid-Duplicity between Good and Evil as is God's - He is the Source of Everything is he not?. It falls to Man to make that Moral Judgement where his Human nature and experiences decides.
3: Above All Preservation of Human Life and Unconditional Love can be realized with and without God
4: Character of the Authoritative Source of Morality: I agree by your Rule-based definitions as posited earlier, The problem with your position is this A Rule-Based Morality is insufficient for a continually evolving societies.
However virtues such as Love place less emphasis on which rules people should follow and instead focus on helping people develop good character traits, such as kindness and generosity. These character traits will, in turn, allow a person to make the correct decisions later on in life. This approach emphasizes on the need for people to learn how to break bad habits of character, like greed or anger. These are called vices and stand in the way of becoming a good person.

Peace
Christianity EtcRe: Is Morality Possible Without An Authoritative Source? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 11:34am On Jul 17, 2012
There is a difference between an "is" and an "ought" .Progress is moving from "what is" to "what ought to be".
Because one society thinks something morally right, it doesn't make it morally right. An authority implies that it is not subject to the whims of these societies therefore it's word is law and the two societies must be subject to that law so one of them must be wrong.
There cannot be multiple moralities else morality becomes meaningless.
Okay.. .. in essence you posit that there is a Singular "precedent" Law of Morality for Simple to Complex "human" Societies.
You may answer the next question with a Maybe or I don't know of have that information or YES

What or Who is the singular source of this Universal Law on Morality? (I have a good reason for this and any answer will suffice)

how do you personally define love?, I do not believe in personalizing a common virtue even at its elemental level, however I believe at its most evident, Love is an unselfish benevolent concern for the good of others - it is mostly emotion driven by value we place on them. so Love on one hand can be construed to be Hate on the other

lagerwhenindoubt:
Can humans discover on their own what is Right and Wrong? A simple Yes or No will suffice, but if you wish to lace it on with Scripture, be my guest
Your Answer
My answer to your question is No. Human beings need a reference point from which to judge right and wrong.
In other words, your reference point for Morality is not Universal
(though I'd like to believe LOVE is a Universal Tenet of Morality) let me give you an example, there are Societies where it is considered Morally Right to Kill one's Daughter or Son for falling in Love with a person deemed lower-class or an outcast. Yet in that same sphere there are many who believe it is an individual's moral right to choose whom to fall in love with. How does this Authoritative Source determine what is Morally Right in one society and classifies it as Morally Wrong in another?

Are there multiple types of Morality? This is another question if your answer is yes to the above
Christianity EtcRe: Is Morality Possible Without An Authoritative Source? by lagerwhenindoubt(m):
In a nutshell, the following were the criteria mkmyers45 and I agreed to (I think you'll find it on pages 2 and 3 of this thread)

the validity of any judge may be based on:-
1. How much power it has,
2. How much it knows about the case
3. If it can see the case from diverse veiwpoints,
4. If it has a good conscience and yet discernible
5. If it is impartial
6. If it is firm and unwavering
7. If it is singular in essense and purpose

The better a judge is at satisfying these criteria, the more he/she/it is qualified to judge or be a moral standard.
I grow weary of this discourse and I wish to stop this perambulator in its petulant journey, it is like a poker game where all the players hold all 4 Aces but won't show their hand grin soooo; let us play a little, perhaps, I hold a joker (4 even grin)

Earlier on, I refused to be serious with this thread because the question reads like a dishonest Accountant grin yes, GOD's Nature (Authoritative Source) finally emerges after much mental cattle prodding tongue It is really a Fly in the Ointment for Atheists grin

Permit me to present the End-Game from this Theist's perspective which is.. Atheists cannot Rationally defend being Moral since God is the source of Morality tongue

I agree that It is possible to Define/re-define and Experience Morality without an Authoritative Source
Since "we" presume to know what cards you hold, let me deal mine.

Can humans discover on their own what is Right and Wrong? A simple Yes or No will suffice, but if you wish to lace it on with Scripture, be my guest

The Forer Effect http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forer_effect
The Forer effect (also called the Barnum Effect after P.T. Barnum's observation that we've got something for everyone) is the observation that individuals will give high accuracy ratings to descriptions of their personality that supposedly are tailored specifically for them, but are in fact vague and general enough to apply to a wide range of people.

Many people die everyday.
