The availability (or non-availability) of alternative explanations hardly validates or serve as proof for clearly controversial (slippery eel) claims the Bible presents in "Blind Faith" (believing in something you know ain't true).
I agree (however) it is also a bit of indignant ignorance to discount the Bible in all its entirety as a result of its historically evidential issues in moral, cultural and academic (sciency parts that is) contradictions.
It is (arguably) impossible to leverage Faith to discuss Reason not because Faith is beyond Reason (as believed by deep Christians) but because they are as far apart as Mormon is from a Wahhabi Zealot

The singular similarity you described as "Blind Faith" is actually a misnomer - here is the difference.. While Religion Begins and Ends with Blind Faith, Science Continues with Exploration and Discovery. This is not Faith, it is simply belief founded on growing scientific evidence (not complete as Higgs has shown us). on the flip-side,Faith is not a divine virtue hallowed from God's Grace or some innate element of Creation - it is as much Will-power and some certain capacity to suspend reality outside Reason.

Faith is not without purpose (albeit non-divine) it gives Hope and Emotional Strength which is needed in this frail creation called man.

So can we keep our eyes on the ball (Higgs Bosons) - no amount of prattle will resolve an issue centuries old

I think the issue is not whether it is boring or interesting, but that it is progress in a field much in the realms of the unknown. all the articles I have read speak more on the side of "Strong Possibilities" rather than Provable FACTS . For those whose interests are not piqued in any fascinating way as the Physicists who made the "un-covery" - it won't cure cancer or cause the world to grow new brain-cells, Higgs boson is not a "God particle", it is only part of the universe in which we live. This "un-covery" allows for learning more about it and perhaps it would be like the discovery of electricity, nothing much was thought about it until 50 years on. It is worth celebrating.

This guy sure puts up a mean grill. what most people fail to note is that there are many Nigerians making a difference across the globe (Negative and Positive). the Majority of people making a Negative Difference in Nigeria is actually a small minority of politicians and their crooked friends.

It is started by Christian Zealots - they understand the Bible the way a Child understands The Law of Jurisprudence. They are Evangelical dunderheads who do not follow a simple advice in Proverbs - Above all gain understanding, following Knowledge & Wisdom, very few Christians do that.

@OP, my word you have a point. Why is it imperative for Religious folks (especially Christians and Muslims) to see it as a duty-bound obligation to convert non-believers to their Religion. I thought each man was born alone, dies alone and faces judgement alone. Why do non-believers have to be continually preached to, provoked, manipulated, deceived, insulted, beaten and murdered for the sake of Religion.
If Atheists do not believe in God, why make it your evangelical mission to eradicate that belief system from their minds. Is God not capable of doing that in the blink of an eye? why does he need violent zealots to do his dirty work

God is the single, independent cause of all that exists because Nature given the laws it follows (which could have been different) does not exists in a vacuum (i.e all by itself).
