The Banking Industry is the same in Nigeria - That Glass Ceiling where female staff find it hard to break. 1: Devote more of your productive time to improving yourself in other areas different from your present role. 2: Are you Customer-facing (i.e Cashier) or Desk-sitting Treasury & Operations or an Account Manager. This is a determining factor 3: Who do you know up the ladder of Executive Management or Middle-Management 80% Promotion is Hard-work but the remaining (critical) 30% is how you are appraised and who thinks you merit a promotion. Know the right people (do not sleep with Management whatever the gains) but you need to make yourself relevant (nobody is indispensable) to remain relevant 4: Unfortunately the Banking Sector is not very favorable, i would have suggested moving sideways into another bank. I have a friend who spent the past 7 years moving from one bank to another getting a better position and salary as he did. now he is a Manager for one of the bank's subsidiaries 5: This is a last resort - Start Planning to become your own-boss |

For those who feel English is not necessary, please what do you communicate in 80% of the time, How did you get past University and how did you pass your Job Interview. unless you work Full-time with Babalawo Ventures, I suggest you learn because it is Nigeria's OFFICIAL language. Nollywood has been blamed a lot for the dumbing-down of our youths due to the Poor Grammar, Poor Reasoning and Poor Culture Values it brings to the audience. Stop making excuses for it and criticize it, suggesting ways to improve the industry. At a point a lot of our actors had to go back to school ![]() |
buzugee: REVELATION 12 VS 4 His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born.Reads very straight-forward-like to me - some rare verses where things are not so muddled-up in mystery. I can identify with Habbakuk though reminds me of my Uni years at parties where we got girls drunk so we mayest look on their unclothedness!! ![]() |
Beaf: Bro, let us leave Islam out of this, otherwise we heading into a tunnel with no end.You are right, BH and its apologists are only a minority - The Political game that is presently playing out requires a widening PR awareness locally and internationally. Nigeria is slowly being dragged in the mud of terrorist waters by selfish, corrupt and in-human political groups intent of causing as many deaths as possible to exploit emotions and sentiments that can ruin this administration |
Not at all. Similarities exit in beliefs and practising the beliefs
Please proceed to explain. I must advice that you do not submit lists or articles that are cleverly sprinkled with unfounded assumptions and leveraged to cement the argument that atheism is a religion - I would gladly wish it were but it is simply a position in thought open to reason and the ever-growing evidence the previously unknown presents. you have kept me from my pillow ![]() |
Deep Sight: Pascal's Wager is nonsensical. In fact I will go so far as to say that there is a lot to lose from believing in God when such belief is delivered and practiced in the fashion common with most Religions todayNice of you to put closure to this slowly lengthening thread |
Many similarities exit between Christianity and Atheism
If you will agree to discount superficial similarities akin to saying because we both have eyes, then we are human. that line of reasoning is what is bringing about this uncomfortable association. When truly devout Christians (and there are some on Nairaland) encourage and practice humanizing injunctions in the Bible - it imbues their thinking and actions with elements that contribute meaningfully to the rest of humanity. (An Atheist is no less moral than a devout Christian who practices what he preaches) ISLAM is a Religion (of Peace) why is it not comparable to Athesim, let us work with ISLAM instead of Christianity after-all, they are both Religions are they not? |
okeyxyz: i don't understand??What will cause a fully-grown, thinking man to believe that his God demands the death of another man because he worships a false god. Only a flawed philosophy, its practice and evidently its leaders. ISLAM is what it is today (evidently) because Allah demands death to every unbeliever - or so its devotees believe. or one that will cause a sick man to refuse medication because he has been miraculously healed of his ailment even when the evidence is to the contrary. Believing in God gives man the latitude to stop thinking for himself and allow this unseen, almighty being become the final word on his life on earth. what a travesty |
I think it borders on cruel, barbaric and undeniably inhuman behavior that Atheism would be classified as a Religion by anyone. it is typical thinking for Religious folks to try to associate or leverage on a position that allows them to attack other religions or thinking on equal terms or better yet, at a perceived higher position. There are obviously many positive virtues in Religion, however there are three times as many vices, faults and dehumanizing values in Religion. The Argument is flawed from the beginning but that is not the real danger. The real danger is that severely closed-minded folks will latch on to this flawed position and make it a daily mantra for the rest of their lives. A sad travesty indeed. Christianity (even more than islam) thrusts itself on it unwilling audience and threatens you with eternal damnation and soul-death if you do not submit - I can only tolerate this because as closely-similar as it is to ISLAM, Christians hardly actualize their threat, it speaks volumes. Indeed it is a Master Piece. one that Hitler would have been proud of had he the time to come upon it. it is a potent composition for sub-human servitude and eternal stupidity. It bears the very seeds of dehumanization. You can lap it up like the obedient dog you are (well not you personally -the sheeple more like) - or pass it up for the regurgitated chaff that it truly is and practice the aspects of Religion that encourages Wisdom,Knowledge and Understanding - not this Meecrob. PEACE (See you in Church on Sunday) |
okeyxyz: sadly, many gullible & vulnerable people are taken advantage of & incited to kill non-believers. But do you judge christianity by the exception or the norm? there are criminals in the society at large, do you judge the societal values because the few who have been decieved & destructive? There is a root cause for this malady, they are judged on the basis of that not their resulting behavior - does that help? |
Go and become a pastor!
He is already a qualified pastor, all he needs to do is become an anointed pastor and become a member of CAN |
hacklilc: Dude why are you after insulting guys on here ?. You educated them not insulting them. How would they learn if you continue to insult them? Why not - you cannot do any more harm than they are already doing to themselves. - y'see the worst kind of insult you will ever find in this world is when a complete r.etard presumes to know more than his obviously better-informed peers (for lack of a more appropriate word). It is this kind of growing phenomena we see in Nigeria when bona-fide buffoons somehow get into positions of governance in Nigeria. It is personified idio.ts the likes you see on this thread that establish the very breeding grounds for brainless tadpoles who somehow chance on the Internet and feel in their miniscule capacity as low-life zombies, they can contribute their quota of dead spermatozoa into the progress of Humanity - sadly they do not have the capacity to learn, it is beyond them to learn when they have reached the limits of their reasoning abilities. Insult is the only remedy - you cannot cure them of their stupidiity (sadly) |
Alh. Lateef believes in his mind that his has made diplomatic statements that will allow any foreign interest see Boko-Haram as legitimately presenting their grievances to the Federal Government. It is obvious to anyone reading his statements that he is only playing a soft-tune but his intentions and approval of Boko-Haram are in line with Islamic injunctions. American Government is not dumb, they have had decades of history dealing with ISLAMIC Terrorists. they can undermine the Nigerian Government definitely, all it takes is to identify a few Colonels in the Military (They are already fractured North and others already) and fund them adequately to eliminate our corrupt political and religions leaders (what a glorious day it would be) . You can sing romantic berber tunes but all the evidence since the past 30 years identifies who is funding boko-haram, how and why ISLAM is not a Religion of Peace, but one of Fatal Violence and Fear. This is the only Weapon available to ISLAM and it is the lowest and basest of human emotions, (FEAR and VIOLENCE) ISLAM has absolutely nothing to offer humanity but these two actions. |
thehomer: Have you heard about armored vehicles and defensive driving? Have you also considered that those shooters may not have been well trained?Nigerian Politicians have had the past 3 decades to become experts at Political Violence. Oshiomole is a rare case of a Politician who escaped the Assassins bullets which makes me very suspicious of this incident. A public event as a place to carry out an assassination presents a lot of problems. 1: Unplanned, Unexpected Crowd Behavior - The crowd (students) can either panic and run closing down escape possibilities or worse unwittingly becoming a shield for the target (Gov. Oshiomole) 2: True Assassins look for the least resistance areas (distance, time and speed) to the target, from all accounts it looks as if they were waiting in the vicinity, enough time for people to identify them or at least the car they came in. There are gaps of information (Pictures of vehicles, collateral damage i.e innocent bystanders who got caught in the fire) |
Billyonaire: This has nothing to do with Nigeria, criminals need to face the full wrath of the law.I quite agree but you seem to miss the point entirely - African Societies (and Muslim communities) especially have stereotypical behaviors towards women from Work-palce to Home which is why I mentioned Nigerian Women - in more civilized societies - the man would be thrown in Jail for assault and battery and the woman compensated. There are even institutions specialized in orienting Women about their rights and how they can fight Violent Crimes and Rapes. In Nigeria the Male-dominated Society, there is little room for Women to fight-back (Legally or otherwise. Get it? I wonder what RCCG is doing in terms of re-orienting their congregation about the incident since the guy in question is a respected pastor of RCCG |
exxell: Jesus was crucified to save the world from your master because of our sins. Now, we are redeemed except you whom we are still giving a chance to repent. Satan is way too below Jesus. He is not even fit to clean Jesus sandals!Stop Defaming Satan - It is libelous |

Sadly many women in Nigeria today are in such marriages and many more are dating wife-beaters and they see the signs but for some reason - continue on this path to Death. God has given you eyes to see and a mind to discern but you will never pay heed. The signs are always there. Women continue hoping that the 1st, 2nd or 3rd child will bring some sense and peace - LIE! it will only frustrate the wife-beater further- women have lost pregnancies through violent beatings from spouses |
How convenient - -ahead of 2015 do not be surprised that Boko-Haram and Fulani Herdsmen and Hoodlums will start killing political candidates ![]() |
Efficient assassins are difficult to hire these days ![]() |
texazzpete: She was a partner in money laundering, not just his mistress. she actively participated in Ibori's criminal dealings. stop spreading misinformationIt is his likes that gradually distort facts and corrupt history such that 5 years from now people will forget what Ibori did and make him a national hero |
Every World President has his faux-paus moments - it is not un-natural for GEJ to say his mind the way he feels on National TV. It is natural for the Press to take it on the basis of Emotions and Sentiments and stretch it to the limits. I blame his PR Team, considering the vultures hovering over him waiting for the earliest opportunity to strike, GEJ innocently (naively) opened himself up to attack. What he meant was that there are far more critical matters than a declaration of assets (which for all intentions he has fulfilled sufficiently). GEJ needs to be a lot more diplomatic in matters that can shake his ratings with public opinion and be forceful with matters that can enhance his Administration's confidence. Much of the FG initiatives are blunted by several (simple) matters that were not handled in a manner that assures his voting public - allowing the opposition to crowd out importance in place of sentiments |

logicboy01: Good, I 100% agree with you. When you say "skeptics" it looks like you are saying there is still room for belief in theism - to keep an open mind |
