Thread like this without any member of the 40 laptop crew? Today must be really a sad one in the life of the likes of Beaf & his pack of scoundrels commissioned to attack any anti GEJ.
I am a bonafide 41-laptopper wink
Apart from that, Nigeria has other strategic points other than OIL.
I am curious so I will ask.. what other strategic points of interest? outside the real potential for unbalancing the region in the event of a nation-wide civil crises that results in 150+ million refugees spilling into neighboring states. Peace-Keeping? Funding AU and OUA and ECOWAS Budget like the US does for the UN grin

HNosegbe: I'm not sure I get the full gist of your post but if what you're saying is that the centre should "strengthen and purge" itself, just know that it will be a cold day in hell before those thieving rent-seeking oligarchs in Abuja try to change the status quo. History has always shown that those who benefit from a rotten system are the least motivated to change it. Until we stop the practice of sharing oil money from Abuja and give the regions control over their resources, development will NEVER reach the grassroots.

End of.
My bad.. that happens when one speaks in frustration. we already know how fractured this political family called Nigeria is. further division will not amount to anything positive. when I say Strengthen and Purge I mean Political Awareness and Empowerment of our Youth in the Political Arena. in 2005 a close friend vied for the House of Reps Jire Constituency in Maiduguri. bright fellow, de-tribalized Nigerian. He had to withdraw because the God-fathers were too demanding. This is what happens and how our present crop of Political Leadership are where they are today. If BAT is truly serious about this then he would groom future leaders. not the hopeless windbags and incompetent laggards he has been sending to the senate and house of reps. (e.g Surulere ex-LGA Chairman) If the crop of young leaders are empowered (highly unlikely) by the corrupt God-Fathers we have today there is hope of a Progressive or Cohesive Polity that is Diverse (Yet Unified) and able to deal with issues like SECURITY, MEND, BH, NNPC, LOCAL/Foreign DEBT etc.. all these issues end up being politicized because of people the likes of BAT and his friends in PDP
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Blows Hot Truth From The United States. by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 9:26am On Aug 23, 2012
HNosegbe: Though I doubt his motives, he spoke the truth. The centre needs to be weakened.
No.. the Center needs to be Purged and Strengthened not fractured and open to r.ape and violations by Tinubu.. (not that it is not going through that already) and it won't be achieved with the likes of pre-independence oafs like BAT, IBB, GEJ, OBJ, ATK, NOI, Daddy GO, UBA and SLS running this country deeper into shi.t creek.

A rare phenomenon, the 1-eyed oracle leaves the shrine. grin It is a known fact that all that Tinubu says is true however, you will be a hopeless ignoramus to believe that GEJ is responsible without considering the dynamics of our sordid political environment Nigeria has been in since our vaunted claims to Democracy since 1999. The only problem I have with GEJ is how he allows himself to be burdened by obvious political whining and bullying without a sensible rebuttal angry

It is sad that Political/Economic giants the likes of BAT cannot throw down exemplary initiatives to develop the nation and in his own small way, rather he keeps pick-pocketing from all his stooge governors and appointees. Yes GEJ is a Arrow.. do you have to be a Arrow as well you hypocritical oaf

obowunmi: Chooiii.... More trouble. Ethnic clashes, .... Boko Horam is the new MEND.
On the contrary - BH is a deliberate elongation of a Political Agenda by the Northern Elite. But if this is true then it is good news. The North should explore all possibilities of Crude deposits and invite multinational Oil corporations to help derive all the benefits associated with crude oil. We should expect to see the much needed development of the North in both Agro and Oil production. which leaves the East, West and South with producing Musicians, Comedians and Multi-talented fishermen with no shoes grin grin grin

Gbawe: Indeed. Highly incompetent and clueless to boot. Our worst Olympic outing in modern history is just the beginning. Even as we have seen a lot already, we will all witness many more grave outcomes directly highlighting the corrupt and inept leadership of this opportunist and his gang of brazen crooks.
This is getting really tiring, i fear i may not see an incorruptible Nigeria earlier than I will see a disintegrated war-zone Nigeria. we all know exactly what is wrong with this nation and it is not as if these leaders are half as intelligent as illiterate local council chairmen - yet we seem to be in their perpetual grasp. unable to make positive change over 5 decades angry

and we know from experience that it is in great abundance when reasoning is lacking grin
Christianity EtcRe: Do Atheists/humanists Have No Morals, Mr Anony? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 8:42am On Aug 22, 2012
sooo it seems only Christians (you know the type i mean wink) are capable of exhibiting a keen sense of morality grin I fear the words of Jesus before he departed (fortunately) will come true in my time, Christians will face heavy persecution not because they are Christians..but because they are hypocrites, lacking in every sense of the word - Moral fiber that is universally applicable to all situations. Christian morals seem only effective when working in a small bubble of christian intelligence

PoliticsRe: JTF Attacks: Genocide In Borno, Yobe - Elders Cry Out by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 9:20pm On Aug 17, 2012
JTF must have their fill before FG will listen to the elders.. grin grin Northern Governors kept silent while Bioko-Haram and Fulani's butchered non-muslims, none hausa/fulanis. placing a heavy burden of consequential action on the shoulders of GEJ.. now they are worried because they can neither call their boko-brothers to order or stop their Funding from b@asta$%#D muslim nations like Saudi-Arabia. yes innocent civilians who stood by and watched their non-hausa/fulani/muslim neighbours get gutted by boko-haram and offered no helping hand.. JTF must step up the game.. get at least one sponsor and nail it to one of these radical governors who have their own stupid political agenda like Peter Odili had with MEND..

Christianity EtcRe: Cnn Reports: Gay Christians In Nigeria by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 7:01pm On Aug 16, 2012
EarsWide: @Jenkins718

Ok it seems there have been some crossed lines here - I thought you were advocating making it illegal to be gay and it seems you think I am advocating the promotion of a gay lifestyle in society. I am not - what I am saying however is that if two people say they are gay and want to sleep with each other - there is nothing the rest of society can do about it. The only thing that can be done (which you dont support) is some form of punishment - which as you rightly pointed out is barbaric.
I agree.. I think it is a personal exercise in hypocrisy to punish gay people and think promiscuous straights are just that - promiscuous. there are other sorts of "deviant" behavior in society that is worse than being a genocidal maniac and these are severe mental conditions a lot of hypocritical folks place on the same pedestal as being gay.

It has only leaked in trickles what goes on in the hallowed halls of Mother Church. and yet they seem less likely than openly-gays to be challenged, punished and burned to the ground. you will be shocked at the large number of gay folks smack in the middle of Allah-Country Saudi Arabia.. there is that odd silent acceptance there too. so why is it a problem for general society

Nairaland GeneralRe: How Did Spammers Get Our E-Mail Addresses? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 6:27pm On Aug 15, 2012
I did not get spammed but even this explanation is not comfortable. Yes you can blame Nairalanders for posting their email publicly. it is hard not to.
Nlers - Please post a private message to whom-ever you wish to communicate with via email or be a little clever about it xyz at hotmail dot com often suffices. bots are not that clever to decipher that. The Nairaland Forum is quiet good at banning posters based on a few banned words I think it can be tasked to replacing @ sign or replacing email addresses with something else
