Eko Ile:Oh Mr. Eko. everyman is vigilant - unless you have been oblivious to wanton crimes in Lagos State. obviously you pick what you want to bash to discount everything else. but who else is surprised by this Be Vigilant, okay So what is the State's responsibility and how are they fairing thus far. You are spending money on Security for your tax-paying citizens but you cannot measure the impact nor show anything in terms of performance. Wait - let me guess what comes next? "What has PDP done abi?" ![]() |
babagy82:Now here is a true patriot who has come to terms with this forced marriage that has stagnated Nigeria for over 50 years. Nigeria was not meant to be Amalgamated. each region was economically stable on its own terms before independence. the idiotic founding fathers, Zik, Ekwueme, Awo, Tafawa with their lofty pan-africanist visions ignored the warning signs - Ojukwu at least saw them and tried to do what we have blissfully ignored all these years. Mr Mallam Aboki, thank you for saying why Northern Governors are quiet over Boko-Haram. They understand what needs to happen to Nigeria and have folded their arms to let the course run through |
Hmmmn. I have no problems with BRF saying the painfully obvious. Lagos has always been known for its odd air of false sense of security. everything looks fine and dandy until an area-boy or robber turns on you right in front of an armed Police or heavily armed Police Station - na there your own finish. I hear Lagos State has instituted a Security Fund and all well-meaning Lagosians are urged to contribute their own mite to improve security in Lagos State. no problems there either, however I would like to see how BRF's Government plans to utilize these funds for Security matters. I still remember the CCTV issue and a friend was robbed an eye-shot from Government house in plain view of a CCTV camera. I have my doubts and it is 6yrs after CCTV. crime is definitely on the increase - If only Lagos will furnish us with crime statistics so we know how/when/where to be vigilant. saying to be Vigilant for mouth is just friendly advise - some Lagosians live in real dread of Estate-Robbers, Drive-by Robbers, Highway Robbers, Okada-Robbers, Bank-Robbers, One-Chance,Kidnappers etc. we know how bad FG sucks at curbing crime - it is no excuse for the State to also follow suite. |
Naija - all talk, a whole lot of bullsh.it and no action - Boko-Haram can step out and kill 1,000 igbos everyday and all that will happen is 1,000 igbos will come to nairaland and talk trash all day long. GEJ has been talking bullsh.it all year long, southern politicians and citizens have been talking bullsh.it all year long. The only people keeping silent are the Northern Governors and Political Leadership and the only people taking action is Boko-Haram ![]() |

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was as effective as a lame-duck. It is plain-obvious that he was invisible as a deputy governor/governor/vice-president/acting-president/president/frog. He will never be an effective human-being. the Arrow confessed as much to the US envoy that he was Hajia Turais a5re-washer the bloody dumb-koff has made it to such heights on the back of a corrupt PDP and a bunch of clueless hungry voters |
ayusman16:let me guess - there is no poverty in the North, all you have are well-fed and contented and un-educated lazy and silly Muslims who just feel the need to exercise their religious right to kill non-believers. is that it? |
Princek12:add her leaders (religious and political) |
ayusman16:hmmm. between the reasons of Laziness/Silliness and Economic stagnancy you actually reason that people who kill have primary motives that border on just being silly and lazy score one for a misfired semen sample ![]() |
The prevalence of Violence in Islam has nothing to do with Ethnicity - it has a lot to do with grinding poverty and the apparent inability of the reigning government to uplift the impoverishing conditions of the masses. Northerners may form the larger percentage of Nigeria's population, they also form the poorest. they are prone to get angry and violent when they are so darned hungry - f'course Politicians will play this to their advantage, just like Hitler played the Germans into thinking that the Jews were responsible for their economic woes |
it takes an even greater f00l to believe Religion is divine, selfless and without fault - Politics is the Blood-sister to Religion. the sooner the f00ls called The Masses realize that, the better. Boko-Haram is on the rise because of the Political anomalies in the Nigerian system |

It is not easy for an in-experienced car-buyer to land the car of his dreams without passing through the proverbial "eye of the needle" especially with crooked Nigerian-based Car Dealers and all the cruel tricks they play on the buyer to turn his expected blessing into a curse ![]() A Car Dealership is out to make (a huge) profit at the least expense. It costs more to sell a "Clean" car and very few car-buyers can afford a "Clean" car or have the budget for it. Most dealers sample the market for fast-selling cars and what people can afford depending on the Age of the Car, Mileage and Physical Condition. 1: Do your Research - Find out what a used car (your preference) goes for on the average in the US, European or Asian Markets. 2: Take into consideration Age, Mileage, Physical Condition, Shipping costs and an allowance for 100% Profit for the Dealer (My Rule of Thumb - this should be your budget) 3: If you cannot wait (Pre-Order)- then by all means take your check-lists from your Research and go shopping on the Nigerian/Cotonou Market. while it is hard and it costs money, carry a mechanic along (A honest one if this is possible). Crooked Dealers emphasize on the following when they play their cruel psychology on you.
[li]a: This Car is Clean - and they mean it. Waxed Paint-work, Polished Seats, Clean Engine parts [/li] [li]b: This AC is Factory-fitted and it is very Chilling[/li] [li]c: This Mileage is very low - @150,000km+ [/li][li]d: A Buyer has already placed a deposit (if it is toks) or the previous owner got an official car and wants to sell this one (if Nigerian-used)[/li] [li]e: It is 1-Month-Registered [/li]
While all of the above are good points - what are important is listed below
[li]a: Focus on the Test-Driving Experience ONLY! How does the engine sound when it STARTS, how does it sound when it is IDLE and when you try to OVERTAKE. also keep an eye on the Smoothness of the Gear-shift. If it is not smooth and it lurches with a clud sound. It may have been "Serviced" (Only in Naija) Make sure you do this with the Factory-fitted AC on at over-drive [/li][li]b: Make sure to drive on uneven - bumpy roads so you can test the Brakes/Shocks and Suspensions always brake Sharply - if you hear a cranky squeak. it means brakes have been tightened and drum riveted to hide a failing brake-pad and a poor suspension[/li]
You can ignore the Mileage if the Car drives well but know this - The approximately estimated travel/road distance between Lagos and Kaduna can be around 729.62 km to 793.06 km let us assume 800km per trip. you will need to travel 63 times between Kaduna and Lagos to hit a 50,000km Mileage - I don't care how bad or good the roads are or how often the engine is serviced. Mileage has a discounting impact on the price of the car. the higher the mileage the lower the price should be. (In Nigeria, what is considered Good Mileage in Nigeria is meant for the Grave in developed Countries). Try to go for cars with at least 40k-50k Mileage for Toks (Avoid Toks-Nigerian-used at all costs) |

OMG!! when will some Christians start learning the meaning of "Christ" ![]() Christ is the English term for the Greek Khristos meaning "the anointed one". It is a translation of the Hebrew (Masiaḥ), usually transliterated into English as Messiah or Mashiach. In popular modern usage the term usually refers explicitly to Jesus of Nazareth or more appropriately "The Messiah Jesus" Christ is no way related to Christmas any more than a Patriot is related to an ACN Politician (My Political fiends better not see this)The Origins of Christmas was from Pagan Roman religion because around the time of the winter solstice, Romans observed Juvenalia, a feast honoring the children of Rome. In addition, members of the upper classes often celebrated the birthday of Mithra, the god of the unconquerable sun, on December 25. It was believed that Mithra, an infant god, was born of a rock. For some Romans, Mithra's birthday was the most sacred day of the year. The only Religious holiday Christians marked in the early days was Easter and this was held in the highest regards. Yes we know Christians are not really worshiping the Roman Sun God when they celebrate Christmas, it is just odd that Santa-Claus has more presence than Jesus "Christ" and all the other bearings of the pagan Christmas celebration are an exact copy of what Christians celebrate today - what a wild coincidence - or is it?? ![]() For your own good Christians. stop celebrating Christmas as a the birth of Jesus Christ. it is not. We all know that pagans, witches, seculars, and Satanist all celebrate Christmas. They’ve been doing so for many years, way before the birth of Christ. We can see on Jeremiah 10:3 that this custom was practiced during Jeremiah’s times throughout the Old Testament, way before the birth of Christ. Jeremiah 10:3 describes in detail the custom of the so called “Christmas tree. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. |
