ddippset:
my learned friend larimo, no player can be the best without playing with other world class players, OK. that is why b4 you can be world player of the year you must be playing for the barcelonas, the real madrids, the AC milans, the inters, the man u's, the chelseas, the bayern munichs of this world. so dont start up any controversies.
mr ddippset, the smartest, are you saying that any player that plays for these clubs is a orld class player? undecided. I simply asked for analyses. You need to pass your point cool wink
SportsWho Would You Pick To Complete Your First 11: Messi Or Ronaldo? by larimo(op): 7:53pm On Jul 10, 2011
I had this debate with a couple friends. If you have a team of 10 players (say the Super Eagles or any other) and you need to complete it with either Messi or C. Ronaldo, who would you pick? You have a balanced team.

I actually picked Messi but I now doubt if he can do anything outside Barcelona grin grin!
SportsLionel Messi At Copa 2011 by larimo(op): 7:50pm On Jul 10, 2011
Is Messi really a quality world class game changer? Does only Barcelona bring out the 'best' in him? huh undecided undecided
I think it would very fair to say that without his team-mates at barcelona, he would just be labelled a talented player.

He has proven again and again that he can't perform the same way with the Argentine team undecided
Or is he just concerned about his paycheck and drops his game when playing ofor his country? grin lipsrsealed undecided

RomanceRe: Let's Discuss Why Relationships Break Up. . . by larimo(m): 11:27am On Jul 07, 2011
andromida:
I think its communication and commitment at the end of the day whether inlaws or boredom or whatever.when both parties are committed to eachother and make constant effort to understand eachother pls underline constant because just because you understand someone last week it does not end there, thesame person maybe going through different things in another week if you dnt communicate how will you knw the person just looks troublesome to you thats not to say there are no troublesome people. dem plenty. Then commitment, when you are committed to something you make sure it works despite the odds and sometimes some people just dnt want to learn, they are proud and selfish and some people are not meant to be.
Spot on. COMMITMENT AND COMMUNICATION. Relationship is defined as "the way in which two things are connected". There must be a connection. People are not connecting, hence they break. Relationships need hardwork and patience. If you want something, you go all the way.

All the factors listed as causes for a break-up are largely external and can be addressed. Troubles come to every relationship but if we choose to look at it from a commitment and communication perspective, we'll do well smiley wink
FamilyRe: Should A Lady Marry A Man Who Is Jobless? by larimo(op): 1:45pm On Jul 04, 2011
The reason for the question is the attitude that do arise from such men in their homes, where their wives are breadwinners. I think a high percentage of these men struggle with this.
FamilyRe: "It Is Not Good For A Man To Be Alone" by larimo(op): 11:57am On Jul 04, 2011
From my understanding, God created man and placed Him a garden to work it, etc. After that, He said, man did not have one who is like Him (human), hence he created a woman from man to be his "helper".

It does not insinuate that man was "lonely" because after God clearly specified why He created woman; to be helper to man in the tasks that God had entrusted to man.

Any objections to this viewhuh huh undecided

I spoke to a friend, who worked at arik until she left for personal reasons (nothing to do with the job) and she CONFIRMED that the allegations are VERY TRUE; from the attitude of the arik boss to the non-payment of ground staff salaries.

- She said everyone is scared of the boss. They all flee when they hear that 'chairman is coming' grin embarassed
- The expatriates are given the best positions even when over-competent Nigerians are there. angry
- Staff can be over-used cry
- Salaries not paid to especially ground staff. Cabin crew, she said, didnt have the salary problems, while she was there.

@ All,

Hearsay hearsay has never and will never do good to any man.

If you have genuine questions on this cancer centre etc, channel them to the church. Go to RCCG City Of David (@ Oniru), which is the seat of Province 4 headquarters that championed this act to get more information.
HealthRe: Pastor Adeboye Builds N100m Cancer Screening And Prevention Center by larimo(m): 7:55am On Jun 21, 2011
Tithes and offerings do not go into his pocket huh. Do you the number of men and women who are in the mission fields carrying this gospel to all men? They need support.

A part goes to the headquarters for paying allowances as well as running of the commission.
The other part goes to the local parish and the province in also running the affairs of the church and paying wages of staff.

These are full-time servants of God. This is what the Levites were getting because the Lord separated them out from the rest of Israel to serve in the house of God.

Offerings are used to meet the needs of the church and church members.
HealthRe: Pastor Adeboye Builds N100m Cancer Screening And Prevention Center by larimo(m): 7:49am On Jun 21, 2011
I want to urge everyone on something; if this man, Adeboye, is not a man of God, he will fall someday, but if he is, there's absolutely nothing you do or say that will stop what he is achieving. Thats what we call the 'wisdom of Gamaliel'.

Many people do not know that a lot of these men of God get gifts from members without asking for them. If his teachings have inspired them and transformed their initially sorry lives, why wont they show appreciation? There's nothing wrong in receiving these gifts. Even Paul the missionary acknowledged this. Its up to him to decide if he will use the gifts for his personal interests or not.

Do you know many nations RCCG is affecting? Every corner has a church so that no one has an excuse of nt being able to go to church.
Can you then estimate how many lives are being reached? Everyone runs to him because they see that God is with him?

Everyone forgets that RCCG started as a small church in Ebute Metta but by God's grace alone has grown.

The Bible says that even Jesus could not do so many signs and miracles in His hometown because of the peoples' unbelief. God surelys heals, but you need faith to activate it!

Kudos. May God continually encourage us to reach our communities with the love of Jesus.

To our atheists, who believe that there's no God, pls consider this: "Would you prefer to live your life as though God exists, only to find out in the end that He doesnt OR would you prefer to live your life as though God does not exist only to find out that He does?"

FamilyRe: A Salute To Single Mums - The Unsung Heroines by larimo(m): 11:36am On May 11, 2011
Frankly, I do not understand the message behind this post. I want to assume we are talking strictly about girls/ladies who got pregnant out of wedlock, but not under any forceful or non-concensual acts.

Heroines? How? Its great that they have chosen to keep their babies over abortion. Thats laudable. There is nothing 'heroic' about it, just as there is nothing smart about those who abort willingly aside medical issues. We should not consider/see them as outsiders of the family circle, that I agree a 100%.

RomanceRe: Caught My Fiance Cheating: Kai, What Should I Do? by larimo(m): 9:25am On May 03, 2011
It's a horrible situation. I don't know why guys would tend to cheat so often just before their wedding.

When a man cheats, it means there is something that he is after. It suggests that there is something he is looking for that you do not have especially if he doesnt have a history of cheating. Cheating can however be set-off by other reasons such as pornography.

A broken relationship is always better than a broken home. You must forget any thoughts of marriage for now and focus on whether the relationship is worth it or not. It is divinely encouraged to give him a second chance but you also need to sit down with him and address the cause of the problem. He MUST come out clean as to why he cheated. His sincerity about it is a must.
If you believe you do not have the mental strength to go through it, call is quits and re-order you precious life.

God bless you.

PropertiesRe: Actual Cost Of Building On A Swampy Land And Is It Adviseable by larimo(m): 9:33pm On Apr 03, 2011
@poster, that cost isnt unreasonable for the project you want to do (speaking from experience). if that cost would affect great your budget, you shld scale it down. budget is always key! dont start sth you cannot finish. swampy terrains are challenging but if you have the foundation welldone, no wahala. you can simply do a 2-unit bungalow. without a doubt, a 'dry terrain' is always better.

@aasog, check your sum. you calculated 597 million! wink

PropertiesRe: The Real Cost Of Building A Six Bedroom Duplex by larimo(m): 8:15pm On Feb 25, 2011
spyder880:
You are right, blocks are inconsequential when the building has columns and beams. The strenght of the columns and beams are what matters. But seriously, do you mean 1 cement:2sand: 4stone as the mixture? Do you advice this for a one storey building like mine? I am planning to use up to 4 sand and 7 stone. Looking forward to your advice.
Yes thats what the 1:2:4 means. What have you been using so far? These ratios depend a lot on the materials. It can vary from country to country. Some even use 1:2:2 in other countries. you need to make sure your materials fit your proposed ratio. you would not want too much sand in your mix, which would make it week (granite/gravel is denser than sand, hence stronger) nor would you want too much granite/gravel, which would not give a good mix. Talk to a builder about it, as well as numerous casters.
PropertiesRe: The Real Cost Of Building A Six Bedroom Duplex by larimo(m): 10:30am On Feb 25, 2011
spyder880:
I have seen houses built with granite that still collapsed or cracked seriously. Granite is only a type of stone, and failure to apply the right mixure of sand, cement, mixed with the right amount of water, and poured in the right wether and soil condition will still make a mess of your granite.
Enugu is hilly, with no water on the soil, very dry land and so stony that digging anything here is very hard. Dont compare Enugu with Lagos or other water logged cities close to the ocean with salty water that can corrode the rods. Gravel is another type of stone and have various sizes, we have washed, dug and river gravels (pebbles). I am using washed gravels to build my house to avoid the dust associated with dug or gathered gravel.

Please feel free to critique my work, I learn from the feedback I get from comments like these. Thanks.
you are right. The concrete mix ratio is what counts with respect to the materials at hand. In Lagos, everyone does the 1:2:4 which is ok depending on what you are doing like foundations. The coarseness of the sand is also very key. Its up to the engineer to check these things. Many don't do this and it can be dangerous.

Are u using hand-made blocks? If so, its good to give a strong fabric to your building. By that i mean the columns and beams, cos blocks dont carry any weight and cannot transmit it efficiently leading to cracks.

Good job you are doing,
