PoliticsRe: Isreal Sold Non-Functional Drones To Nigeria For $240m by larimo(m): 12:59pm On Nov 05, 2012
I think the title of this post is very wrong.
I would rather believe that "Dubious/incompetent Nigerian officials acquire Non-Functional Drones from the Israelis for $240m".

How could we, at the government level, be this blind to receive dys-functional items at any pricehuh?
CrimeRe: Desola Ade-Unuigbe Supports Aluu Community by larimo(m): 4:39pm On Oct 09, 2012
@Poster, the Bible teaches us that we should mourn with those who mourn. Its as simple as that. Millions are mourning, even if they can't do much about the situation. Job's friends were sympathising with him in a way that brought him more pains.

You didn't chose the right time to share your thoughts whether in good faith or not, hence the reactions you are getting.
It's being insensitive.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Oil Production Ends In 41 Years – World Bank by larimo(m): 7:55am On Oct 06, 2012
The report is correct and does not bring out any new information as such. We have always known that our current reserves should last between 35 and 45 years depending on daily productions. The lifespan also depends on if new discoveries are being made. So in 10 years to come, we might still say another 40years. Fields discovered in the deep offshore have helped increase the lifespan of oil production. Most of the fields developed in the 70s' are at the end of their lives. They may still be producing but in a few thousands of barrels and plenty water grin.
Someone mentioned that Nigerian has more unproven reserves than proven reserves. Thats an ERROR. We have huge unproven resources not unproven reserves, beacuse they have not been drilled yet so you cannot really say what you have. We speak of reserves as something that you can actually account for. The onshore (coastal swamp in particular) holds significant resources but mainly in high pressure/temperature contexts. Companies aren't ready for that yet. Currently we are not exploring as much because companies are very skeptical about the PIB as well as the the avoidance of working onshore. Companies for now, are content with developng abd producing current discoveries until things become better.
SportsRe: Mikel Obi Deletes Twitter Account After Racial Abuse by larimo(m): 1:03pm On Sep 21, 2012
Some people are naturally troubleshooters. Mikel played and excellent game for Chelsea that the commentators continually lauded. Lampard also made a silly mistake which fortunately Juventus didnt maximise. Ivanovic did the same. The first goal was a lack of concentration by defenders, same for the second.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Mexico:U-20 Women's World Cup Quarter-Final (1 - 0) FULL TIME! by larimo(m): 5:33pm On Aug 29, 2012
I have decided to show little interest in age-grade competitions when we participate, knowing fully well that we are yet to clean up our mess in age cheating. I have serious doubts that Esther Sunday, Francisca Ordega and Desire are U-20.

All our 'heros' from these competitions get out of the spotlight after these tournaments both locally and internationally. Is it possible that all of them have badluck in getting good clubs? Where's Rabiu Ibrahim? Lukman? Okoro? Ajagun? Sarki? Ramon?

blank: Have you guys checked out British Airways, they have some planes that are over 20 years old. If you check, those planes fly to Lagos and to London.

THe age of the plane is not as important as the maintenance.
The age of an aircraft is misleading when mentioned in years as well said above. The life cycle of the plane is what counts that the number of take-offs and landings. A 10-year old plane may do better than a 5-year old plane.

Christianity EtcRe: Preachers And Pastors Receiving Monthly Salary For Preaching The Gospel. by larimo(m): 2:32pm On Feb 28, 2012
There is one principle I urge all Christians to abide by and that is: Pray SINCERELY to God to enlighten you about his own word and His work before making needless judgments or statements.

A lot of people are using the seemingly unpopular trend of 'having rich ministers' for their arguments.  Granted, in many corners, not all, there seem to be a lot of manipulation of naive individuals when it comes to tithes and offerings, however, we need to uncover the Bible for ourselves. Only lazy and stubborn Christians will choose not to read and study the Bible. No good preacher will tell you not to read the Bible. Only the Holy Spirit can give you the right interpretation of God's word. No one gets it right all the time, some of us held some doctrines in the past, but have today denounced them!

The Bible clearly says that there is nothing wrong to support ministers. Better still, we should support ministers. In today's church, this support has been structured into a salary scheme. Do they not need this support to continue in the ministry? They do. If the support from members fall, will their salaries or call it support not fall also? Surely it will. I agree that in some sectors, there have been abuses, but it doesnt change the truth that we should support God's servants.

The original poster said Jesus said 'freely you've received, freely give' but trhe same Lord Jesus in Luke 22 vs 35-36 said to them before he was arrested that: "Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered. He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one". Let's understand the Bible in context.  Have a blessed week everyone.
Christianity EtcRe: self-service Controversy: Pastors Blast Oyakhilome by larimo(m): 2:04pm On Feb 28, 2012
The Bible never explicitly mentions masturbation or states whether or not masturbation is a sin. The Scripture most frequently pointed to in regards to masturbation is the story of Onan in Genesis 38:9-10. Some interpret this passage as saying that “spilling your seed” on the ground is a sin. However, that is not precisely what the passage is saying. God condemned Onan not for “spilling his seed” but because Onan refused to fulfill his duty to provide an heir for his brother. The passage is not about masturbation, but rather about fulfilling a family duty. A second passage sometimes used as evidence for masturbation’s being a sin is Matthew 5:27-30. Jesus speaks against having lustful thoughts and then says, “If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away.” While there are parallels between this passage and masturbation, it is unlikely that masturbation was what Jesus was alluding to.

While the Bible nowhere explicitly states that masturbation is a sin, there is no question as to whether the actions that lead to masturbation are sinful. Masturbation is nearly always the result of lustful thoughts, sexual stimulation, and/or pornographic images. It is these problems that need to be dealt with. If the sins of lust, immoral thoughts, and pornography are forsaken and overcome, masturbation will become a non-issue. Many people struggle with guilty feelings concerning masturbation, when in reality, the things that led to the act are far more worthy of repentance.

There are some biblical principles that can be applied to the issue of masturbation. Ephesians 5:3 declares, “Among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity.” It is hard to see how masturbating can pass that particular test. The Bible teaches us, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). If you cannot give God glory for something, you should not do it. If a person is not fully convinced that an activity is pleasing to God, then it is a sin: “Everything that does not come from faith is sin” (Romans 14:23). Further, we need to remember that our bodies have been redeemed and belong to God. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). This great truth should have a real bearing on what we do with our bodies. In light of these principles, the conclusion that masturbation is a sin is biblical. Clearly, masturbation is not glorifying to God; it does not avoid the appearance of immorality, nor does it pass the test of God’s having ownership over our bodies.

EducationRe: Help! Lecturer Wants To Ruin My Life by larimo(m): 1:57pm On Feb 28, 2012
Very sorry about your situation. Its pathetic with some lecturers these days.
It was already a big mistake giving him some money 'cos that made him know you are desperate for the result. Of course, he would ask for more.

Now you really do need God's wisdom before you make another rash decision. You have prayed, which is good, but I personally think you need to ask for God's forgiveness first for paying the guy some money (this act of seeking forgiveness applies if you haven't asked for forgiveness yet). You need to first come clean with God and let Him do the rest afterwards. The initial prayers may be out of desperation of the failed attempts.

Its easy to think that you can set him up, beat him up etc, but you need the right wisdom from above. You will overcome wink wink. DON'T ACT DESPERATELY AND REGRET TOMORROW smiley smiley.
RomanceRe: Is Waiting Until Marriage An Outdated Concept? by larimo(m): 9:11am On Feb 03, 2012
What does it mean to wait until marriage? It is not just a slogan or common saying that we should reason out or try to secularise or modernise, but it come from a bliblical (and islamic) position that we should not engage in pre-marital sex.

If we all were virgins who only practiced sexual things in marriage, where would the concept of 'she/he-is-not-good-in-bed' come from? How would you have assessed your partner if you had to prior knowledge?

If you hold/accept these values, then there would be no need to discuss the issue further.  cool wink smiley

Besides, on what grounds has Yaya won it? Impact with club/country or personal capabilities? I think André Ayew was the best amongst the 3.

RomanceRe: She Is Married But Kept Calling And Sending Romantic Messages by larimo(m): 7:58am On Jul 22, 2011
@ poster, you MUST cut off the friendship. Let me use the right words; this is called CHEATING. The reason why you might be hesitating is because you are enjoying whats going on (the attention, illicit e-romance, etc) and if given the slightest opportunity, you would like consider doing the wrong thing, which is adultery. The Bible say that he who commits adultery does not have any sense shocked. I know you do have sense.

You dont need the friendship because its bringing more harm than good (if there is any good anyway). No more phone calls pls. You don't need them. She can get other counsellors when she's in distress. You cannot be her comforter over emotional matters when she's emotionally attached to you. She's married!

"Father, pls show the poster the right thing to do. Urge his spirit to obey your word. Bring calm and order into this lady's life and home, that your purpose for marriage be honoured, in Jesus' name. Amen"

Agreed. thats the part we can at least do as citizens.

nevertheless, i have always maintained that fashola hasnt done much with whats available to him. I personally think people have given him high ratings in comparison to what his predecessor did rather than what he's capable of doing with the resources and personnel available to him undecided. my opinion.
