Mikel's absence is a very big loss for Naija. His vision, his passing, his calmness. He wins fouls in good areas. We are now very limited in options in midfield creativity - Haruna and yes Kanu, maybe Kaita too. Sad! |
too bad for Mikel and Nigeria. he would have made an impact especially in winning fouls in attacking plays. Lukman has all responsibilites / expectations now on his shoulders. I think he likes the big stage. Shocking is Mikel's replacement according to eurosport - Ideye! http://eurosport.yahoo.com/05062010/58/world-cup-2010-mikel-world-cup.html |
Chongaiman:the statistics are so incorrect and negatively skewed. pls get your facts. dont copy and paste anything you see on the net. yaks and kalu, i know, scored more than that. you also failed to look at how many matches these players played and also bearing in mind that most of the Nigerian strikers were injured throughout or most parts of last season (Martins, Ike, Yakubu). @poster, why do you analyse using the Saudi game alone? What of the Colombia game? That's not how to analyse. You could simply have said you want/expect a loss for Naija. The Argies are better on paper but anything can happen. I have hope cos the Argies dont have a decent midfield, hence no supplies to the ferocious attack. This problem was evident throughout their WC campaign and even at the Olympics. Our midfield is getting into great shape and should overwhelm them as we did in most parts against Colombia. I predict a win for Nigeria. |
llade:thats a pretty harsh analysis . Is that from the street you live at ? If you say almost every girl are sexually active, ok that may be true. maybe you need to relocate to another area or state where such statistics dont even exist . |
Some people have suffered from men/women who lied about who they are. Marriage is a life-long thing and it can be traumatic to find out that the one you call your husband or wife cannot have children with you. Its terrible. However, the solution is not making the woman prove, by getting pregnant, her fertility. The real issue here for me is trust. This is what the couples need before going into marriage. Telling the truth! Infertile couples can be divinely made fertile. I believe that. From another angle, its a give and take for a particular group of people - the desperate women and the macho men. If you are not desperate as a woman, you will not accept a man's request that you get pregnant before marriage and vice versa. Infact, before the pregnancy comes is fornication, which is not acceptable in christianity. We need to be truthful all the time. Its the truth that sets a person free - never a lie. Let's not sow seeds that will haunt us tomorrow. God bless. |
@poster, it appears you have a 'big' wedding in mind but you dont have the cash. If so, thats not a good way to start a home. We must always think and plan ahead. However, since you are not sure about changing the date, be reasonable, do a court wedding. It costs very little. You can also organise both immediate families (maybe 20 people ) and do a very very little trad wedding/engagement with very light refreshment. For that number you may spend N500 per plate and N150 for drinks, etc. Thats about N13,000. Take a few photos (memories ), etc. You may just use N20,000 - N25,000 for everything. Think about it. BE WISE. God bless. PS: I hope you already have a house rented and a regular paying job too |
Kanu is old, doesn't play regularly, isnt so fit, not quick, so he should hang his boots sharp sharp but he is still still required in this present near-toothless squad.Yes, he should be in the squad. ![]() |

Superbrain:good response. its in order in my opinion. i no dey joke with tithe too o . sometimes (like stated above), its important to state how much you want to save monthly. Then, see if the rest can cater for your needs and work it out. Remember that its you who makes the expenditures so you can control it. its important to save. imagine saving 10k from the day you were employed (say at 25 years) to just before you will retire (say 55years). Without interest, that amounts to 30 years x 12months X N10000 = 3.6M. A good sum for a middle-class earner. You can retire in your home. Assume that you can save 5 times that sum monthly, thats 18M before your retirement I have prepared an excel sheet for myself in this regards and it helps me to focus. I also do the same savings for my 9-month old son and future children in preps for their education up till their university. It makes you relaxed in your 40's to 60's. No amount is too small. N5000 a month for example, for a baby today, will yield 360k for his primary educ at 6years. Its significant. Its when we have fewer financial responsibilities that we should save adequately. |
honeric01: Iyineda:guys, u miss my point . you'd agree that a player can be in a game for as long as 90mins but he neither contributes nor destroys. That was Martin's story for me . "didnt see much of him" ![]() @iyineda, you stated that as well in your comment to my initial post . abi u don forget ![]() |
honeric01: Your comment, no offence, points to nothing. What are you trying to say? ![]() |
Most Nigerians have given up a second time on the Super Eagles after an unco-ordinated and uninspiring display on a near-rubbish turf in Austria. The game lacked everything good from the Nigerians. It however, did reveal a lof of things: - Its just a way to make up the final 23! All the players that didnt play or came in late already have booked their places in SA. - It was an experiment for unfit and untested players (both old and young! hic). It was a game that showed a lack of playing time from our 'big boys'. We should expect the same squad against Colombia. - There are still potentials in Nigerian football (home and abroad). We should not look at the result and judge Lagerback yet because this is neither the Nigerian first team (though not so far from it! ouch) nor a team, but an assembling of players. The real test will be not against Colombia but North Korea (we then we would be 23). As regards the players: - Ejide is so rusty though did show some good reflexes and a knee punch. He does not take the 18-yard as his fortress. Still uncomfortable coming out. - Yobo, briefly put, calamity! Its obvious why Everton doesnt need him anymore. No vision, poor timing, cannot hold his own under pressure. He should go! But if he does, he should never start. - Shittu reminds me of rugby a lot. Anywhere belle face. He just has the zeal but little skills. - Echiejile was my biggest disappointment in defense 'cos he was near excellent in Angola and made rubbish of himself yesterday - Suswan, well, played all he could and was offensive and defensive. Still a prospect, but will he make the squad? i hope so. - Ayila, simply put, too old. He is tired jare, but he still tried. - Lukman was everywhere. Excellent workrate, tried one or two things but still needs to calm down and play constructively. We have an Essien in-the-making. He should be in SA without a doubt. - Kanu my man. Old soja neva die. The only player who could hold the ball for more than 5 seconds and not worry. He still has it and we need him in this squad at least. - Obasi was the worst next to Yobo. Gave the ball away everytime, couldnt run, couldnt pass. I insist, he should not go! I wonder why he stayed on for that long. - Kalu the flamboyant. Always watching when he should be playing. He has something but doesnt like using it. I wonder when? - Anichebe, though still lacking in fitness from his last injury, he showed character, strength and purpose. Should be quicker with the ball though and should be in SA! - Martins, didnt see him much so not much to say - Ike, rusty but still has something. A bit too slow on the ball - Kaita, held his own and did all that was needed as a unscheduled full back. - Odiah, too old. Couldnt even muster a decent cross when he has the chance. - Utaka was just kata kata. Rusty! should not go anymore (to be replaced by Anichebe in my squad) - Peter Utaka, did he even play? - Lagerback, experiment was ok, but has a lot of work to do but time to no time. He must just produce a miracle somehow and probably work a lot more on his defensive tactics. These is just my own perspective o. What do you think? Enjoy! A warning to Supersports: Please never you guys just walk on the streets of Jo'burg and pick any Nigerian to analyse. What was that? |
The game was so boring. Though an experiment but not a pleasant one to watch. They are so unfit. However, I think the coach tried giving the "fringe, unfit and old players" a chance today cos all others who didnt play are already in the squad and he has to make his selection in 5/6 days! The positives were: Haruna (great work-rate; he was everywhere), in! anichebe (showed focus but still lacking full fitness); in! Suswan (showed commitment but may not still make the cut) Kanu (was the only player who wasnt scared to at least hold the ball without being in a hurry to release it!)Yobo, out! he cant even time the ball, cant even create a fortress for himself in defence. Obasi, out! doesnt even know when to dribble or give a good pass Ayila, tired! Echiejile, so disappointing but defended when needed! Shittu, playing rugby! Haruna can play alongside Mikel cos he plays like Essien |
snowdrops:even in Lagos, you still drill expensive boreholes. you'll notice the heavy treatment of water in Lagos cos most boreholes dont even get near to the aquifer. everything na money, |
RICHIE BOI: sulad82i: snowdrops:guys, snowdrop's very right. the price can go up to 1M or more. Like he/she said, it depends on the quality of water you want and the location. Most of the water we are consuming does not even come from the aquifer. |
Please return, without a second thought, that sum of money. |

@ poster, when you read the split opinions of everyone (48% to 52 % according to a poster), you would agree that you need to seriously pray about it (am a christian and thats the way I choose to view this issue). major life decisions like this one needs to be addressed properly. many have spoken from their own experiences or experiences of others or what they MIGHT do but that isnt enough. you cannot even see tomorrow. its complicated cos you need to please above all God, then family and self in varying proportions. You need to sit your wife down and hear her opinions CLEARLY too. If she accepts the new 90k lifestyle + its consequences, you need to know. Career is good and can be godly but it shouldnt come before family (my opinion). Families today are suffering because parents are too busy to be around children. The ages of your children also matter. Children in formative to teenage years need their parents presence a lot. In short, as long as you have time to pray about it (even if you dont have that much time sef), start now. |

12large: 12large:dis 12large guy should be cautioned. he fails to understand that opinions are not facts. |
12large:you are so childish because you don't know how to focus on the subject. examples like you are the reason why Nigerian is so backward with their insultive & provocative lifestyles . Rubbish! |
@poster, isnt Stella from delta state? ![]() |
Kx: . That was really funny! In my opinion, Ideye(no experience), Akpan(no experience), Anichebe (no experience but like the guy ), Ayila (too many mistakes; we can manage Kaita ), Suswam (no experience), Adeleye(no experience/out of form), Obasi (lukewarm) I know some many condemn by choice of Obasi instead of Utaka but this is the world cup . Its not a league. You have only 3 group games and need experience. Obasi went blank after his screamer against Egypt. Utaka can still come up with something. Just my opinion ![]() |

segcy.moor:haba! your comments are harsh and out of place, u as a 'builder' should know that your building is NOT a reference for building in Ajah or anywhere else. There are many factors involved in building. Please make professional comments and stick to the subject. |
@ poster, now that she has opened up this topic in the most unusual circumstance, you need to ask her what she really wants now and what she wants you to do to save the situation. you also need to reflect to see where u might have missed it while urging her to do the same. you guys need to sit down and work this thing out. Above all, you need to commit all to God's hands. You need a stronger prayer life. God bless you |
All haters of Mourinho back off. He outclassed Barca in the first leg and now you are saying he was playing destructive/defensive football . Why wouldnt he, after the referee and UEFA gifted Barca a 1-man advantage and an invalid goal? ![]() This is to let you know that you cant have your conspiracy working everytime. You did it last year against Chelsea but not today! Mourinho had every right to celebrate emphatically after the injustice he received tonite! Barca should go and sleep jo. ![]() |
