The location is different, but at least you get an idea about the quantity of various items I purchased. For example, your decking should not take more than 250 bags of cement. My duplex has not yet been roofed.

Can someone in the house give me a professional advice as regards decking and roofing?

I am about to perform a 28m by 13m, 150mm thick decking in Ajah. I have two sets of numbers. I want to be informed. Which is appropriate?

340 vs 300 bags of cement
3 vs 7 trips of sand
5 trips of granite (no conflict)
6.5 vs 9.5 tons of y16, y12 and y10 for beams and slab reinforcements
750 vs 1020 bamboo sticks

The labourers are charging 300k casting, 230k carpentry, 180k iron benders, omo onile 110k (2 families) for the decking.

Which is the realisitic one as per a standard job? Is there anything more special about the decking than the german floor? Are these charges reasonable or I should look elsewhere?

The roofing has a calculated 'area' of 610m2. How much wood and aluminium (longspan 0.55 gauge) do I need?

the estimates given here maybe very correct and maybe very wrong. lekki is huge and the conditions are not the same everywhere. i am currently building and I know some of these things. an estimate unattached to a plan doesnt really make sense. to avoid a shock, i suggest some things:

- do a survey if u haven't done one yet
- get all arch drawings first. its the starting point. it costs 'nothing' compared to the project itself.
- take the architect and the structural engineer to the site! very important!!! the soil is not the same everywhere in lekki, hence not d same cost for foundation.
- get all other drawings - structural, mech and electrical, etc
- get a quantity surveyor to give u an estimate based on the drawings. tell him its not a govt contract too . seek more opinions where possible.
- get someone to help u understand the drawings as best as possible. its very good for you.
- get a builder, get a contract. pray to God to give u someone trustworthy you can rely on even when you sleep.

i have learnt that in almost every task, there is a minimum requirement and a maximum one, hence an influence on the budget. you can send me your email address, so i sent you some information based on my own little experience. God help you.

Do you bruise his ego so often with your achievements? Very key to a man

Are you the type that act 'I married you to be my husband'?
