EventsRe: How Much Do I Need For A Regular Wedding by larimo(m): 8:15am On Oct 14, 2010
@poster,

It depends on you and your spouse-to-be. The key to having a good wedding when you have financial constraints is to have a fixed budget that you can have a firm grip on.

Some tips are:

You don't need to call a band that will cost some cash. Plead with your church choir if you are Christian to do that for you or get a DJ, which can go for less than 15k.

For the meals get an aunt and her friends to assist you knowing that a caterer will charge more. If you cant do that, then reduce the number of invited guests and make it more of a family-close friend thing. No room for "the friends of my brother's colleague's friends"! grin. You can get a decent package from N550 (jollof-fried-chicken-beef-moimoi-salad). You can scale it down and get something cheaper.

Get a friend to be your MC. Keep it simple as long as he/she has the ability to make people laugh for a very short while.

You can get decent souvenirs at amazing prices. In order to give a good impression, you can diversify. Look for items that aren't so common but are also affordable. The packaging will matter a lot.

For cakes, it a matter of 'how may steps' you want. You will always have a good bargain. You can go for something stylish that requires a lesser cost of production but a decent finish.

Chairs and tables, you have to get if you are using a hall or doing an outdoor wedding. Its costs a lost! Simply use your church venue where you'll get the chairs free of charge. Then you just have to rent the tables.

Drinks you have to buy but you can cut down your cut by cutting down the number and keeping it simple with soft drinks. No room for exotic juice packs, etc.

I hope this helps, wink grin

God bless you!
PoliticsRe: Why Is America So Blessed? by larimo(m): 7:58am On Oct 14, 2010
There is surely a God effect in the US. Put Nigeria aside and compare the US with France or the whole Europe as one body. There isn't a comparison. The US is miles ahead. Even these Europeans were founded/established long before the US was. If the US economy does down, the world goes down. The US was founded on God even if today secularism is crippling their values. They have a decent history with God. Check out the elections and you'll see that the belief system of a candidate is a always an issue.

Remember that righteousness (having a right standing before God) establishes a nation (from the Bible)..

Remember also that its the 'Israelites' that are ruling the US. Go check out the family trees of prominent individuals. They are a favoured people and nothing can ever change that.

In Nigeria, we are largely religious with only a small % of those who can match their talk with their walk. If we uphold the law and do the right things in the eyes of God as a nation, God will lift us.
CelebritiesRe: Is Genevieve Not Being Overated? by larimo(m): 8:03pm On Oct 09, 2010
When analysing things like this, pls put aside your bias, beauty, etc that dont equate to acting.
Genevieve isn't overrated. In my opinion, she's the best today; better than my favourite actress Omotola and others.

Even her take home pay confirms it grin:

PropertiesRe: Pls advise: 600k For Labour, 4bedroom Bungalow, Fence/Instal Gate, Aboki House by larimo(m): 5:39am On Oct 01, 2010
am a client and not a trained builder. however, for the foundation, you may need to test the soil. impressions you get as being sandy may be wrong if you do not dig to see whats beneath. Mine was the case. If the soil is solid like we find in the north, no need for an elaborate foundation. If its water-logged, a raft may be needed. Just make sure they check the soil before starting. "If the foundation be destroyed, "

I really think 600k is cheap based on what I am doing. Probably its not going to be a challenging one for them but counter-check! Am doing a 4-BD twin duplex (324 sq.m) and the labour for water-logged foundation alone was over 1M but it was a 1.5m raft foundation (i think its possibly bloated being my first experience).

All the best!
PropertiesRe: Pls advise: 600k For Labour, 4bedroom Bungalow, Fence/Instal Gate, Aboki House by larimo(m): 9:38pm On Sep 30, 2010
Its very reasonable to me, but the real challenge should be who he will be bringing.
It also depends on the challenges on ground, e.g. the type of foundation needed, etc

You can equally talk to ask least 2 more people and get their quotations and compare the prices. Best of favour

@Poster, Have you pictured living with someone out of pity for at least 40 years?

We must never marry because of one thing or the other. Marriage has its purposes as clearly taught in the scriptures. Its a godly thing not a pity/sympathy thing.

na wa for this kind thread. havent u heard of defensive midfielders (DM)?

how many goals/shots did makelele have?
how many goals/shots did mascherano have?
how many goals/shots did busquets have?
how many goals/shots did de jong have?

one can go on and on with this list. these guys are DMs' and their job is not to score goals. The only teams where DMs' even attempt to score or have decent shots are free passing teams like Arsenal and Barcelona or teams that make use of 2 DMs' in a three-man midfield (Man U, Bayern, etc).

Can someone give me a rough current estimate of fencing a plot of 700sq.m in a muddy/swampy-like plot in Ajah? The fence would require a sort of raft foundation.

Thank you wink

What "fact" do you have that Okoro is not U-17?
larimo:
@ Sagamite,

Yes, its in the records that we have cheated many times but before you make conclusions, you need to have the facts particularly for these falconet players. I agree that Stanley Okoro is not U-17 because people who know him have said so and its so rare (to impossible) that a player has played at least 2 seasons in the Premier League and it still 16.

Still, don't just look at faces and conclude by guessing their ages.

@ Poster,

This is no disrespect to women or our wonderful female teams but

- How many people do you see in the stadia watching the games?
- Can you name 5 players in the squad?
- Can you name 3 female clubs in Nigeria? Who won the league last year?

Women foot is not the same as men's: the quality, energy, business, etc in the games is not the same. Besides this is the U-20 tournament and not the WC.

The FIFA world Cup is pure politics, that was why they "sent" home al the other african contenders like Ivory Coast,
Dont worry its always been like this, and from what it seems its never going to stop, until people like Jonathan start making decisions like he make about  the Nigerian team. in my oppinion CAF should be riped and africa should stop participation.
