Politics › Re: Amnesty: Militants Demand N3bn For Arms by lastpage: 10:41pm On Aug 04, 2009
Few things became apparent!

1.) Those who lord it over Nigerians, those looting politrikcians and Govt officials are WEAK, TIMID LILLY-LIVERED AND CHICKEN! grin grin grin
They are soooo scared they would do anything to keep their hats on!, and that is what l've always said, "How can a few thousand people, hold 140million others to ransom? Even with all the Police and Armed forces, How many are they in all?
Now, we have seen how scared they can be, and we thank the N.D millitants for this!

Now is the time for the masses to seize the opportunity and over-run the scumbags and take back our country from them.
CONFEDERATION is the government we want: Each region will develop at its own pace, control its own resources and secure its own people (Policing).
No more South fighting East or West fighting North over resources/executive posts.

The regions (as was operated in the 60's when Zik, Awolowo and Balewa ran their regions on behalf of their people) will then pay a certain "to be agreed amount" to the "Center" (The Federal) who will be in charge of external, national security.

Before you know it, N.D will become like London,
Oduduwa land will brace-up with its Cocoa and Rubber,
The North will once again delight in the Groundnut and Cola pyramids!
Everyone will export what they have and earn as much as they can produce.

And there will be less attraction to become Nigeria's President! grin Less Money to steal at the center!! shocked shocked shocked

Whatzsup, my people, is that not better than killing each other in some stupid ethnic or civil war?

2.)The Militants started out well, since the Federal Govt will not do its responsibility to its citizens and the citizens themselves are either "Mumu" or too selfish to raise an eyebrow.

But along the line, greed and criminality did set-in and the current demands (even Harry himself should have been ashamed to read out those demands) have actually convinced us that these Militants are better referred to and treated as "Terrorist".
Mind you, the aspirations in the N.D are legitimate and the Federal govt MUST heavily improve lives in that terrain and other parts of the nation are also due for an "upgrade".

Those spearheading the current agitations have derailed and they are loosing, if not already lost, the goodwill of every sane person in Nigeria and world over.

As scared as Yar'aslow is, THIS IS PURE BLACKMAIL and no group must be allowed to blackmail a country or Govt.
All Nigerians must unite to
(a) Make/force the Federal govt to build roads, schools, Hospitals in the N.D
(b)Pressure the Federal govt to provide stable electricity in this country
(c) Sequel to (b) above, provide enabling environment for the start-up of small and medium scale industries so as to provide employment for people.
(d) Condemn these criminals using a noble "N.D cause" to blackmail and intimidate Nigeria.
We must stamp them out mercilessly.
The genuine people of N.D know that 3Billion naira for gun exchange is not on their list of demands and we all know it too.

Having lost face and spine, the F.G needs to live up to its responsibility (and l doubt they ever can, only looting the treasury is their main concern) in the country and in N.D in particular.

Certainly, MEND has ruined a good cause but then, its an opportunity to "reshape and re-negotiate our unity", as a country.

Who will be the losers here?
The criminals masquerading as Regional activists and the Treasury looters sitting on-top of our national assets and income, and both will fight back because their "free lunch" is about to end  grin

Events are crystallizing for a showdown,, between life and death, poverty and enjoyment, evil and good.

thanx alot, very brilliant comment but the fact is i do not know how to trust someone who has already accused me of swindling fellow nairalanders.
if MONITOR1 verifies VIN and tint permits then i wont have any problem pasting a scaned copy of one of my permits to be verified.[/qote]I feel you on that but it is not him you're actually doing these for.
You're doing it because of your own "reputation and name" and those people who are looking up to you for their "Tints".
Its easy to destroy than to build, l agree but at this stage, he has thrown the gauntlet!

I am sure a lot of people are poised and waiting to see how this would pan-out! You know what l mean?
Seeds of doubt have already been sown and the only way to "kill those seeds" is to earn your customers trust.
You can bet he will come back and say "Did l not tell you he's fake?, why cant he provide just one copy for verification?

@Sandee575
Lastpage,
I would rather learn to drive before owning a car. So would i want to fill the potholes on my roads before embarking
on constructing water fountains at my roundabouts and junctions, i would build estates for the people to live in to bring
rent rates down before having visions of banning advance rents, i would emulate the Ghanaian government's success at
providing electricity for their people even as their President has no jet of his to fly in (we have a fleet), etc
Exactly my sentiments.
Some things have to come first since a keen observation would show that there is more benefit to be enjoyed by the generality of the citizens, if one "fill potholes" first before building water fountains, despite the fact that both are "good things", desirables, as l will call them.

If you wonder, why are the Govt Officials/the rich bothering themselves buying "Hummer Jeeps" (some households have 4Jeeps!  huh ) when repairing the roads (Good surfacing and drainage) would have achieved the same "primary" objective of a smooth ride?

Why would everyone who has a little coin in his/her pocket turn their house (built from hard work and sweat!) into a "High-fenced Prison yard" when a little focus on the needs of the populace (education, infrastructure, Employment, adequate Policing, e.t.c) would have achieved a better level of environmental security,, and the aesthetics of the neighborhood will still be enjoyed?

The answer lies in "misplaced priorities" borne out of corruption or outright ignorance!

But in a world of "scarce resources which have alternative uses", Economics has taught us to always satisfy that "most pressing need"  and rank the others on a scale of preference!
People seem to underestimate the power of the forces of "Demand and Supply" as a potent regulator of Price!.

I pray Fashola would take a closer look and achieve the same aim (affordable rents) with/in a more systematic approach.

Cheers.

@Larez
What you fail to realize is that if it were left to Fashola, there wouldn't be an issue with power in Lagos. This is a guy who understands the importance of Industry which relies on power. Unfortunately, as discovered with the Egbin power plant which Lagos State built, the constitution requires that power is distributed evenly across the country regardless of the source. Lagos therefore produces power only for 2/3 of it to be lost in transmission to Abuja. The fact of the matter is that there are a few IPP projects in Lagos already built. These are currently acting as Private power projects targeted at Industrial customers. If the constitution was changed, I could almost bet that Power will be continuous along the full length of South Coast of Nigeria. Well, of course it will depend on MEND leaving the gas pipes unruptured.
Thank you Sandee575,
Larez,
This point of yours brings us to the issue of "unequal yoking" and the idea of "True federalism".
It seems our Politicians are not up to the task and
"those who make Peaceful change impossible, are gonna make Violent change inevitable"! I hope it does not get to that sha.

Nigeria as it is, is a very 'unfair contraption' but we want it to remain a united country based on fairness to everyone.
Why should a "constitution" written for the people, by the people, ENSLAVE the same people?

I have said it over a hundred times in different fora that "Nigeria's development, like that of other countries, hinge heavily on "Stable power Supply".
Nigeria can not be an exception.
All the "Re-branding and wasteful foreign tours to attract  foreign investors", under Obasanjo yielded no result, as predicted and same is happening under Yar'Adua! When will our leaders learn simple A,B,C? Even for PHD holders like Dora Akinyilu?

In over two years  now, Mr. President has not been able to complete a single power Project!
Obasanjo spent Eight wasteful years attempting to do "a hundred meters crawl" on the same issue and failed woefully!!

There are "Chinese Models" of portable, "Neighborhood Modular Power Projects" that can come on stream within six months of approval (cash and carry NEPA! grin) currently in operation in highly inaccessible regions in China and the beauty of it is that the "Maintenance" is done by the local users themselves!
Whats wrong with our Leaders?

Its just wicked to "yoke" us under a constitution that is not fit for purpose, as an excuse to stunt developments in certain areas of the country.
Why should "amending a faulty part" of the constitution become a "political arm-twisting event"?
ITS SHEER WICKEDNESS.

This same rationale is what Mr. President is trying to apply on the issue of Lagos state "Local Development Council Areas" and his muscle flexing and threats!
As long as what you give the state does not change in terms of Revenue, why bother with whether Guv. Fashola "fragments" Lagos at Street level? At least until the National Assembly ratifies such decision (if political witch-hunting will ever allow that).

We just have to find away around these problems.
If other states want to remain in stone-age, then we cant force them to change but No one should also force us to remain at that level!
Thats what true Federalism entails!!

I sent you a message on your messenger, see u there.

Cheers,

Sandee575,
I feel you but at times, we need to take a step back and see where we are, currently.

"No Advance Rent" is possible.
It is desirable.
It benefits everyone, including the Landlord.
Agents/Commission business needs to be certified and regulated.

Having said that, where l defer with most people is in the implementation.

Consider this: would you buy a car first, before learning how to drive?
Or will you consider it more prudent, to learn how to drive FIRST, then buy a car after?
In both cases, you buy a car and you will probably drive it grin but one way is sure better than the other, and is less of a danger to others! lipsrsealed

This is my stance on the issue:
Lets tackle a few "teething problems" first and then implement the LAW, that way, we can sustain it.
I do not want us to enact and try to force the law first, before giving those issues a thought!

I hate to see laws enacted without teeth, a "wasteful" waste of time.
If you have time, you can read all the various suggestions a lot of well-intentioned people have made, on its "workability" and what groundwork needs to be done first.

One way or the other, we are all Tenants and Landlords, in various places.

No Bile, waalahi grin

Cheers.

Larez,
Thanks man.
My greatest pain has always been that of being a Nigerian, knowing How blessed we are and yet seeing how "Prodigal" we have become, so much so we are the butt of jokes from those countries we should be giving AID!

We cant give up on this country, till death do us apart! At least for the sake of the next generation.

Before Guv. Fashola (lets ignore our level of expectations for now) came to be, NO ONE knew that Governors could even be different from the likes of our "Regular Politicians" but we see now, there can still be light at the end of the tunnel!

I've seen some of your work in "building and design", since the days of "www.Nigeria.com in 2005" and am sure you will remember someone called "Afarikorodo" grin ! No be today o!

Politics › Re: N180,000 Tuition Fees For Nigerian Universities by lastpage: 11:18pm On Jul 28, 2009
@xyzed23
Please appreciate what you have! Please tell me where University education is cheap in the world. my fees are N8,000,000 per year here in the US!! Thats $50,000x4=$200,000!!
Hmmmmm, You should at least be generous and tell the whole story, as it is?
If you want to use that "relatively HUGE amount" to justify your argument, in the Nigerian context,
You can also add that:

1.)When you finish school and start working, even as a Teacher in the U.S., your salary in just one year, will cover that $50,000!
Tell me which Teacher in Nigeria, even if JESUS comes, will ever earn 5% of that amount (#400,000) annually?

2.) Work or no work, you will get "Unemployment benefits/Job seekers allowance" till you get a job, and the amount you get weekly, approximately #40,000, is more than twice the minimum wage in Nigeria and more than what most Teachers get on a monthly basis over here grin

3. You can also add that the "Economy" that demands such HUGE amount from you for College tuition, uses the money to "sustain" their standards, get you a "clean accommodation", get you a sound laboratory, ensure your security on campus, provide electricity to run things as required and you're almost sure of getting a job, when you finish your schooling
, unlike where you are comparing it with; where students read with "Lantern" grin and lecturers, justifiably, can be on strike for non-payment of salaries, for one year! After the "struggle sef", you can roam around for the next five years looking for employment and lack of energy will surely not aid you in setting up self employment!

Nigeria's population, at National level or at Tertiary level, is nothing compared to America, a minuscule! Yet they still provide jobs and educational opportunities for all that are interested and capable.

I wont go further than these but all am saying is that "If we must compare", let us compare "SIMILAR SITUATIONS" and if we must justify a horror, let us at least be "completely open" about it!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@A-town:
You are no doubt a brilliant person and maybe you mean well but like our Mr. President, you apply your wisdom "upside down"!
Forgive me, l do not mean to be rude and no porn is intended so l will justify my position with some examples:
We have way too many candidates for too few schools and to be honest, the tuition costs can not and will not sustain the system.

For those of you comparing the US/Sweden to Nigeria, please think again.
The US has like 4000 schools. Nigeria had about 35 until the recent inclusion of private uni's which has turned that number closer to the hundreds.
How do you expect to gain quality when you have a student/faculty ratio greater than 2000:1.
True as your assertion about student/faculty ratio is, it is not thecause of the problem, it is only a symptom, an outcome of an underlying issue.
If "number of schools" and/or "student/faculty ratio" was the problem, the solution would have been "build more schools" to increase "Number of schools and reduce the quoted ratio! But do you really believe yourself that more schools will solve our educational problems NO.

The Nigerian economy is not diverse. We have an oil driven economy. As a result., a lot of courses being taught in Nigerian schools are in reality : a pure waste of time.
Students just want a certificate.
Even with a degree in religion, people want to work in an oil company.
Courses studied at University level, any course for that matter, is a journey in acquiring knowledge and preparing the human mind for further challneges.
What you do with such knowledge or where you decide to apply such knowledge is up to you and is a different kettle of fish.

Nigeria is a country where Veterinary Doctors and Dentist roam about looking for JOBS, (Remember NMA just called off a strike last week?) not because our Teeth are not decayed grin or because we dont own animals or Pets like Dogs and Cats but ,
At least we know that if you studied one of those two courses in U.S.A, you will be very comfortable in life! The pertinent question, which you fail to address (or comprehend) is WHY is Nigeria's case different?

Here are the things we know :
-Govt won't pump more money into the tertiary sector
-The system is dying
-We don't have a vibrant enough economy to support as many college graduates
.

In lieu of this, a solution is needed. Sitting here and raining curses without offering your own plan/solution is just ludacris.
The thought that everyone in Nigeria has to go to the University needs to be taken off our minds.
If the current global crisis results in a greater demand for alternative energy and crude demand falls seriously by 2015 - 2020, what do you think will happen then?
The one sided economy will collapse. All the people scrambling to go the university because of that dream job will no longer have that dream job.
The financial sector that supports that dream "oil" job will also be gone.

Again, very brilliant analysis but COMPLETELY MISGUIDED and misapplied!

Why would/should Govt not pump money into education?
If America, as we speak, intends to pump Billions of Dollars into its educational (and Health) sectors, so as to revamp those sectors for the challenge of the 21st century? Despite their level of advancement??

If you take time to look again, you will realize that you are good at stating "THE SYMPTOMS" but you have never delve down deep enough to unearth the CAUSES OF THOSE SYMPTOMS!

, and that is why l likened you to "Umaru" who does not appreciate the problem (exp: he wants to pay Militants monthly income grin , while leaving unattended, the cause: WHY they became Militants in the first place! FAILURE from start!!)
If we tackle the causative factors of all the symptoms you have listed, then, the symptoms themselves, as in other countries like U.S.A, will disappear.

I have listed HOW TO TACKLE THOSE SYMPTOMS in my earlier posts (you cam reference them) so l wont bother to repeat myself.

But without shying away from a "responsible manner of response", as you require, CORRUPTION is one of those causes, and by far the most potent, of those symptoms you listed.

If all the Billions of Dollars being looted left, right and center (estimated o be around 400Billion Dollars by the World Bank) by the same Government officials that want to increase tuition, are properly managed and applied to the educational and other sectors of the economy, the Dentist, the VET, the IRK graduate will all find somewhere valuable to apply their knowledge.

By the way, University education only "prepares one" for independent reasoning and onward application to particular life problems, encountered in the real world.
So what you read is not of too much importance as long as you dont delve into "specialist roles".

Reducing the acceptance rate into universities will certainly result in better quality education due to a small teacher/student ratio.
My friend, you are patently wrong and this sort of reasoning has no place in a highly diversified and globalized world.
Need l remind you that there are truants, even in Babcock, Convenant, Redeem University and other private Universities, may be on a smaller number, due to the same "small student population" of such schools!

I say increase/improve the facilities instead using Govt funding and when desired standards are attained, and supporting infrastructure for "employment of Technical school graduands" are ready, one can then consider turning University Education to an "Elitist aspiration".

We can not create more of those type of illeterates that set the whole of our Northern Region on fire, sice Sunday!

Thank you.

Until l get a fair answer to this question, l have no choice than to agree that Umaru's illness has taken a dangerous dimension grin

Please, can all his "legal team" answer this simple question? P-L-E-A-S-EEEEEEE

These are his best achievements so far, in pictures!

Alright, enough of invectives on Yara-whatever.

Let face reality: What can he do? How will the Government and people of Lagos respond??
1.)Like Obasanjo, he can maliciously with-hold allocation due to the state

Response: The LSG will go back to court and he would be ordered to release the fund, as an enforcement of an earlier Supreme Court judgment. If he does not, Lagos will still thrive, Lagosians will "sacrifice" and pay more tax and put him to shame, and the country will loose its authority over Lagos in due course!

2.) He may (try) to use the authorities like EFCC, C-of-Conduct Bureau, e.t.c to stir-up dust in form of some financial challenge!

Response: LASG will go tow--2-tow with him, he will deflect attention away from his comatose performance and waste the nations resources, at the end of day, its all ruse and he cant do jack.

3.)Finally, lets assume the unthinkable (since nothing is impossible in a situation of insanity!), He may order military action against Lagos!

Response: Of-course, we will all be happy since that would mean a very quick end to this contraption called Nigeria and he would be held responsible for it.
No one will get high marks if you predict that it will no longer be a fight between Lagos and F.G, it will quickly balloon and this "fragile association" would simply breakdown - MEND would seize the opportunity, simmering Biafra would erupt, OPC would bare its fangs (and AREWA can join the 'Nigerian' Army if it wants) so everyone would simply declare its own Republic!
At a point, even the Military would stop obeying his orders, (go and ask Ex-President Zaleya of Houduras!) and he is "caput", as we say grin

Maybe those the Gods are about to destroy, they first make them dumb and deaf?

Lagos is not Odi, neither is it Gbamaturu!

Yara-something may actually be a blessing in disguise, who knows?

I hate to use a "foul word" on the President of my country but if the U.S govt predicted, a few years back, that Nigeria would fail within 15yrs, I doubt if they had "Yara-sick" in mind!

What single achievement does this guy have, in the last 2years in power? Who does he even think he is?

As we speak, over 50 have been killed in Bauchi!
Imagine, threatening a whole state govt? Does he think he is threatening a band of Militant?

Enough of this Rubbish called Pres-i-dent.

I am becoming very afraid for this Nairaland o!
If the quality of response we get to simple questions, is a testament to the quality of our peoples level of understanding, then we are in real soup!

Imagine, the question was :How do l get a loan without collateral"?

Answers range from, you can get one if you have a job, if you operate a salary account with the bank, if you have landed property, if you have a good business plan or running business, You must have good credit ratings, e.t.c!

For Christ's sake, are all the above not "COLLATERALS" or how else would one define collateral viz-a-viz something that can be used to minimize the risk, in case of default?

Na wah O, if we no get "reasonable answer" keep quiet or say l dont know! Chikenna.

@poster, the very idea of "a loan" implies a collateral, even if its from your family member - Your family relationship, as a leverage, is a collateral grin
Even a loan-shark uses your "good health and family members" as a collateral!

Maybe what you need is a GRANT, and l doubt if that system still operates in Naija otherwise, the likes of our IGP's would not need to borrow #161Million with landed collateral shocked NO ONE WILL GIVE YOU MONEY FOR FREE, except its for burial ceremony! grin angry angry

I would suggest you work hard for the next one year and have some savings, with that, maybe you can convince a few people with money to come-in and party with you on your vision.
Your savings can even then, become the collateral that is barring your moves!
You see why this is the major reason the rich get richer and the poor get poorer!

In your spare time, l recommend this books: 1.) Rich Dad, Poor Dad. 2.)What the Rich teach their kids that Poor people dont teach their kids.

It would lift your spirits but all the same, dont give up on your dreams.

Larez,
I must thank you and "A Wenger" for your contributions. You guys are wonderful.

Mediocrity has been elevated to an Art, in our society.
Its even more annoying when you try to make a point that could benefit everyone and one "half-illiterate" just sweeps everything under the carpet, out of ignorance.

I am not into 'detail construction' but when l see roads constructed in Europe and America, l always wonder how we expect the shoddy work we do down here to last a year and one is not surprised that most roads dont last a season of rain, some dont even last six months!

We are saddled with policy-makers who think only in the short-term since we're always putting square pegs in round holes and our penchant to worship any "white-skin" is legendary grin

You threw a very good insight into "strange" building collapse, up there.
I have seen buildings whose columns seem very strong and well ironed, crumble like biscuit and l've always wonder what the heck was the problem but your opinion got me thinking in another direction.
Yet we have over a million Engineers roaming around jobless while we are in dire need of qualified manpower!

We will keep saying what we have to say, what we know is right, till they decide to listen to us.
Its our duty to our country and our future.

Best regards.

You mean you dont love your spouse? What will happen if your spouse should accidentally read your comment??
I guess you would let dem do your spouse grin grin Nice dude!

You really speak for urself.

Anyway, What if it was "your daughter" or even "your son" that was "arse-raped" in your presence, deranged Robbers?
Does it make a difference to you?
Or you would just "dey look like Monkey" (as Fela would say!) grin

As "developed and pro-active" as American Police are, 'the Right to bear Arms" by citizens is enshrined in the constitution, so whats all the whinning by our "I.T.K" Nairalanders?, or are we just "Yellow-hypocrites"?

As a person, l respect "human-life" and always pray not to be confronted with a choice of "kill or be killed" but if it happens, God forbid that l am "helpless"!

lastpage & those of like mind

the fact that someone on the internet says they want to "defend themselves against robbers" doesnt they themselves arent armed robbers.
tpia, lets be real.
First, the "summarized" story up there happened in real life, about 15years ago.

I asked, if you're the "victim" (God forbid), what would you do, if you had a gun?
Will having one have made any difference? Please respond to these question first, before calling "us" armed robbers!  grin

We dont know each other, and none of us have offered to "sell guns" to the other.
javascript:void(0);
The "poster" only made a "request for information" which, l will assume, will lead him to the proper, legal authorities, licensed to trade in firearms.
Is that a bad thing to do or would you rather he goes to the black-market and obtain one?

Does it not bother you where all those criminals (at least they dont come out openly) get the guns they use in oppressing innocent and law abiding victims like me and you?

Remember, armed robbers in Nigeria dont discriminate!
I pray you dont experience them, especially the drugged and crazy ones! grin

But, per-chance, if you do, like some have,  ,
you will thank God, if you have the means to protect, if not yourself, at least your family (wifey and children) cry

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hanoo,
its really sad that "robbers" can have Uzi but law-abiding citizens are left with "Shakabula".
The trick, as my Uncle said, is to license "what is recommended" and have an unlicensed, "solid backup"!

How do you expect a robber firing 180-rounds/minute, to get scared-off, by some "cork-and-shoot"?

Better not to have at all, than to have something ineffective; puts you in more danger.

That "Govt prohibition list" seems destined for decoration!
Even Govt officials dont obey it to the letter.
In 1960, the list could meet the demands of the time, but in the 21st century, even the Police are crying for more fire-power.

@Samparian
I dont mind if my wife makes more money than i do as long as we both find time for the family and understand ourselves well.
Naija men these days no want house wife
Thank you for the above.
Most people tend to neglect the fact that some men are just not comfortable with their wife being out of the house for most part of the day, like from House-Gate, to work and back to House-gate, 10-12hrs!

Everyday!! And the man is working too!!Who looks after the kids? M-I-N-D-E-R-S?

What is the essence of acquiring all these wealth when, because you dont have time for kids, which naturally translate to bad upbringing, the "future" turns out to be wayward or a complete waste?

Only men who are "inherently weak or inferior" bother or feel threatened about their wife earning more than them.
Real men, at that stage, look at the impact of "Mummy's absence" from the house, throughout the day time, on their offspring,
, though, different people place different "premium" on their children.

My wife earning more than me can only mean one thing: I have a lot of reserve to fall-on, should the need arise grin grin
I borrow in "cash" and pay her in "kind"! No be only women sabi dat style!

Nairaland General › Re: Yay! My Cybercafe Got An Inverter! by lastpage: 5:17am On Jul 25, 2009
I have been using an inverter since 2001. I bought it from a company along Apapa-Oshodi express road (cant remember the name now) just after that Ibru warehouse but on the other side of the road, going to Mile 2.
Cost me 55k then, Could carry most house electronics (not fridge or iron).
The major item of concern will be your battery, and hey will cost you the most.
I use two batteries, 2000Amps cold cranking, OPTIMA dry cell batteries. Imported, 12V and each cost 38grand! I can tell you these batteries are wonderful, extremely good.

Like people have said, if "NEPA" is not regular, inverter solutions are not very efficient.

On the other hand, l am currently working on "flexible solar panels" for house roofing, to cut out the "NEPA" angle. Still needs lots of dry cell batteries which am considering importing direct from U.S.

I feel, in the long run, SOLAR will pay for itself, its more reliable and the technology is getting better and more efficient, but you need a very huge upfront investment, to get real benefit out of it.

Goodluck.

BTW: Nothing like "NEPA" power,, Govt should just get their acts together fast.

Shitheads!
This guy asked for "information" on a process/procedure.

Before you could say fire, everyone turned to pastor, psychologist, Counselor, Accuser and all sorts of deranged advisers!

If you dont have the answer to his question, let him be.

Owning a gun does not equate to being a murderer. My Uncle is  retired Military man, he has three guns for over twenty years but l have never seen him "shoot anyone" , unnecessarily anyway  grin
When has it become a crime to "attempt" to defend yourself, when in mortal danger?

In Okota, Lagos, anyone who lives around there will bear witness that we all own guns, every house owner owns one. Thieves think twice before coming to rub us.

Have any of you ever wondered what difference it would make if you had a gun and the following happens to you?:

Four over-drugged guys come to your house in the night and after robbing you of ALL valuables, instead of leaving in peace, decided to take it to the next level.
They proceed to rape your pregnant wife in the presence of your 8year old son while asking you to "Toshiba" the whole scenario. You could feel the cold barrel of the gun against the pounding blood in your temple.

Your son was shouting "Daddy do something" and you looked into his eyes , and he saw naked fear in your eyes! One after the other, they took turns on your wife!
After all said and done, they "shot" your son that would not keep his mouth shut, in the leg, and left your wife bleeding, from a forced-miscarriage,

Can you ever look at your wife or your son in the face and call your self "A MAN"?

What difference would it have made, assuming you had a gun? Be honest, for once in your miserable life.

Okay, some of you will "pray" for the thieves and wish them a safe journey back grin grin grin.
Alright, l hear you, "e no fit happen"!

Okiro owing money is his personal business, haba we should know when to draw the lines,it is not public money here we are talking about so whats our own?let him and the bank sort themselves out,he didnt rob the bank he took a loan for christsake
Indulge me to re-visit the above, especially where "empasised"

Lead Bank, from which he borrowed the money, was distressed and went under, with other people's money (Public's money). Banks dont "print" money, they use depositors fund.
So, the money Okiro took since 2001 and refused to pay back, is NOT HIS PERSONAL BUSINESS.

By Borrowing and refusing to pay back , and on time, he has done a few things even armed robbers dont do!
1.) Created unemployment for the staff of the bank, due to its bankcruptcy.
2.) Social and family upheaveal, for those children of staff and customers whose money he is "chopped" grin
3.) What is the difference between "robbing a bank" and "borrowing and refusing to pay" the bank back? On both cases, the bank is "deprived of its asset" and even in this case, the bank went UNDER!

It was the same Okiro who was hounding and humilating Ribadu! Imagine? A FORGER!

Infact, all those "Yahoo-yahoo" boys he has been arresting better sue him to court tongue tongue
"Pot should never say the Kettle is black", but Okiro did!!

Even as we speak, l know a few friends whose savings died with that bank, in Okiro's pocket! angry

A whole I.G of Police!

I wish Onovo would read all these and take a stand that his fathers name would not be brought to disrepute, on his account. History does not bear him out but he has the chance to "write his own version"

Ehindero,
Okiro, , Habbaa, there must be something infectious, (like H1N1 grin) in that I.G office!

No wonder Nigerian women are "Rated as highly too-Materialistic", by other women folks!

Quote
@otukpo
Who is doing the rating? You?
No, not me.
The text says "other women folk".
I actually read such comments from non-Nigerian men/women, about Nigerian women, on the issue of Materialism, on different threads and websites. In other cases, such pronouncement was made during verbal conversations.
Mind you, it is "their opinion" of Nigerian women, not necessarily true (as some ratings are), and "generalizing" it is certainly  "statistically contestable".

I made the inference as a reference to those who postulate that their "husband is stupid" as long as the wedding RING used is not Diamond! angry

Thank you.
