Paddyboy
MOST NIGERIANS ARE IDIOTS ON NAIRALAND, I REPEAT IDIOTS!!
I agree with Paddyboy up there. At least HE has shown us HE is one of them grin

Who in his right senses will quote some senseless figures that were CONJURED-UP by one misguided analyst and jump to conclusions that Nigeria's economy, National Production and development will overtake Egypt or S.A? Not even Ghana, or Botswana or Tunisia?
Smell the Coffee man,

Since the late 80's, S. Africa has been producing somethings as "simple" as Warships, Cars, Submarines, and most of what it needs while Nigeria still imports "second-hand" Rifles from Eastern European countries like Khazastan!

Sandton City Mall in J'bourg has been powered non-stop since it was built While the Presidential Wing of our own "International" Airport frequently has to pack up (in 2009!) because they couldn't even get DIESEL! Haba, why not just run a Hose-pipe from NNPC depot to that Generator!
Even Aso-Rock has a budget to buy its own diesel grin

Anyway, we can delude ourselves as much as we want, ITS ALL ABOUT BEING AN ATMOSPHERE OF MIRACLES tongue

When will our "Ankara cloth" Mills start producing?
When are we even going to break the jinx of producing a functional "Keke-Marruwa" that is wholly made in Nigeria shocked

Hmmmmm, Gone are the days when "Fitch-Rating, Authur Anderson rating", e.t.c.  was a consideration in choosing which bank you save your Pension Benefits, all those "AAA+++" rating, just like our friend's "GDP-list" are all cooked and belies reality grin

"Lehman Brothers" was Triple A+ when it collapsed!
I guess Sanusi and the egg-heads like him have just given Nigeria its own Triple-A, Triple-plus (AAA+++) rating! BUNKUM RUBBISH huh

Aaaah, l just remembered we are even rated better than France! grin

Poster, dont mind them jare!
I bought mine, with "korrekt" customization at Central Lagos.
I even bought 2pairs for my boys and it was not only original, it was way cheaper - of-course, by the time you remove VAT, import duty "dodging" and other naija "ways", its got to come cheaper.
Got the Yellow short sleeve Jersey for #3,500 and the Red/White long Sleeve for #4,200
Customization was additional one bale! from the same place!!

Directions: Using a popular landmark, the Lagos Central Mosque, keep going towards the Tinubu Square.
In-between the Square and the Mosque, there are these two shops (almost directly facing each other) on the first floor of those shopping plaza, just facing the main road. You will see them hung outside for display.

Caution: Ensure the customization is well pressed-in otherwise, one wash and the name is off grin

I had to use a white cloth and hot iron to seal mine-in proper cheesy

Politics › Re: Ribadu Resurfaces In Nigeria! by lastpage: 1:12am On Sep 13, 2009
@wirrinnet
I think most Ribadu's fans do not know what a hero means, to them a Hero is somebody whose sole claim to Fame is media hype, like in the movies. They do not know that qualities of a hero must include courage, fairness, consistency and ability to fight for what is right no matter whose toes are stepped upon. Ribadu falls short of any of these qualities. Let me give a few examples of Past heros.

1 Chief Gani Fawehinmi, thought he has his own eccentricities (we all do), but no body can argue that he is a true Hero In all languages and definition. I cannot imagine a Gani being declared wanted and him running away, he would rather face his oppressors and die in the process. I cannot even remember Gani going on Exile under Abacha, please someone with better memory should remind me if Gani had run away from any body or government.

2. Chief M K O Abiola, I was never a fan of Abiola, because I believed he was entrenched in the corrupt Nigerian establishment. But after winning June 12, he shown the character of a real hero, He fought and died for what he truly believed in. If he had wanted to Run away as Ribadu's supporters suggest i am sure he would have lived and even be Richer today. IBB promised to Give him any amount he required to forget the mandate and he refused. He knew his life was threatened was still bold enough to declare himself president in the open even when most of his backers chickened out.

3. General Tunde Idiagbon, He is a typical hero reminiscent of any classical Greek hero, he was out of the country when he was toppled over in a coup. The saudi Government offered him asylum as no body knew what the new helmsman IBB would do to him, his boss Buhari was already in Jail. But in a show of courage he refused asylum and wrote to IBB he is on his way home, he came home and was subsequently arrested and detained. Now that is a man with a clear conscience, and was POISONED!(sic)

4. Fela, I aso doubt if Fela would be declared wanted and he would rum away. I am sure the minute Fela is delared wanted, he would report immediately to the IG's office.

There a a few others like ken saro wiwa, but i gave these few examples to show Ribadu's fans what a Hero is and their hero who boasted than that he was ready to die fighting corruption is now running and hiding like s scared crow, and they are making excuses for him.

I have always said ribadu does not deserve the persecutions from the federal Government, he is far from being a Hero figure.
You try o,my shista!

It bothers me a bit, that in your own "Dictionary of Heroes", (and that of people like Beerlegend, Hollandis, Cre8tivity, Fhemmy and worst among them, Back2back!) the only defining virtue is "DEATH"!
Could it be that you just love the taste of death or how come ALL your own Heroes are ALL DEAD? huh

Of what use is a dead hero?
Okay, l've heard it before "Heroes live in heaven" grin
In all your examples, their DEATH WAS HASTENED by the Nigerian government!

Let me analyse it:
1.) Gani died as a result of the ailments he developed while suffering various detnetions at the hands of the Federal government, even though he never took a single govt contract not stole anyone's penny.
2.) Abiola died in detention, again, under the Government detention of Abacha and then Abdusalami.
3.) Tunde Idiagbon was eventually poisoned when he refused to die in Government detention grin (hard man!)
4. Fela died of heajavascript:void(0);lth issues he "acquired" while serving numerous detention by various Nigerian government, most notable, Obasanjo's rabid hatred for a fellow Egba man whose intellect far oustrip his. It was the same Obasanjo's F.G that threw his 78 years old mother down from the top floor of Fela's house and killed the amazon of a woman (first Nigerian woman to drive a car!)
5.) Brave as he was, it was the same Nigerian Government that hange Ken Saro Wiwa, when all he was doing was asking that justice an fairplay be displayed in the sharing of the nations wealth. While he was rewarded with death for "not running away", those that ran to the bush and "bombed from afar" are not only alive today, they are been courted with all sorts of "reconciliation pecks" grin I hear a foreign training in Ghana is being arranged for them! I beg, include my name for that list O grin
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So you "morbid-minded people" prefer a Ribadu that is murdered by these same "rotten treasury looters" (and he will become your hero and you will even shed crocodile tears, like some are shedding for Gani now!) than one that is alive and probably still able to change the course of history?

WHY ARE WE NIGERIANS SO WICKED, WICKED BY NATURE?
Though some have said that Nairaland seems to becoming a play ground for immature minds, questionable characters, agents of treasury looters and l tend to disagree with such assertions but some contributions herein and the anonymity of the internet seems to re-enforce this opinion.

*We have mentioned Tafa Balogun, former Police I.G. (and we all know corruption is epitomized by the NPF), as a "high profile" that was nailed by Ribadu yet "Beerlegend keeps asking the same question over and over again! We need not mention how he stemmed the "Yahoozy business" that is making SONY Corporation have a jib at us today.
*We have mentioned (as you can read it up) that Nigeria was "de-listed" from the list of corruption-ridden nations under Ribadu, by the U.S and other Western nations (funnily, we are back on it now, under Warida Faziri grin)
*We have all seen what giant steps corruption has taken in the last 2years where people like Ibori, Andooaka, The Alams, e.t.c have returned to power, and to looting the nation dry!

*We have seen how "nations that work" have embraced Ribadu, while our own President "begs and lobbies for appearance" at international events!

All these would not satisfy the Ribadu-haters until they spill his blood.
They're goading him to "confront animals in government", the way they did to Abiola, Ken-Saro Wiwa, Dele Giwa, Riwane, Idiagbon, Bola Ige, e.t.c, so that when they have killed him, they can turn around to tell us about how he was "the best Corruption Czar that we never had" shocked

No one is claiming Ribadu is an "Angel" but again, like in the country of the blind, "show me just one person, among 150million Nigerians, who had took corruption head-on, like he did?
SHOW ME PLS ,,,,,and dont point to the "dead ones", if you dont mind!

As a parting shot, let me quote Winston Churchill: "'Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen".

Finally, "Bravery is not encountered in the recklessness of utterance or of action, but in a methodical assessment of any situation where, even if the odds appear to be against one, and the risks seem overwhelming, a choice is still made that embraces the inherent dangers in the pursuit of that reasoned objective". Wole Soyinka, 2006

Gentlemen and Ladies, say a Prayer for Ribadu (even though you never might have met him) and others like him, there is power in the prayer of strangers!

Nairaland General › Re: Nairaland Needs Moderators Urgently by lastpage: 11:25pm On Sep 11, 2009
@Seun
Desired qualities of a Nairaland Moderator:
------
- Humble and loyal enough to always listen to the admin and not cause trouble.
- Knows and respects the rules of Nairaland.  Not a rule breaker.  Disciplined.
A short QUIZ:

There was a man who was "given a job to do" by his benefactor.
The Benefactor "laid down the rules and told his employee what to do"
Being a "good man" the employee did his master's bidding.
But his master was "powerful man", and he used his employee to achieve selfish and not so noble purposes!
This employee tried to use his wisdom, to do "a few things" that were right!
People were annoyed and criticized this employee.
They were blaming him for what he was doing (not minding he was "just obeying orders and being loyal" )
This employee was to be convicted for being loyal and obedient but his master was "a free man!

Would anyone have preferred that this employee did not listen to his "Master"?
Would this employee have been a better person, with a better legacy had he been disloyal to his benefactor?

Do we actually consider "unqualified loyalty" as a virtue and asset?
Should we actually be "demanding loyalty and obedience to us" from those who are responsible to us?

Can anybody tell me THE NAME OF THIS EMPLOYEE?
(clue: he was a Nigerian public servant)

Please let me have your guess, thanks in advance.

Now, l came-up with this analogy, in reference to what SEUN listed as one of the requirements to qualify as a MODERATOR. (as highlighted above)

"Loyalty and obedience" is considered a good virtue but we all know that "the heart of man is wicked"! (So says the good book!)

In the above analogy, "the employee" now has to live with the result, negative consequence of his "loyalty and obedience" to his Master.
Some have said 'but he should have not obeyed those vile instructions of his master",,, and be considered disloyal?

For me, l think l am grown-up enough, mature enough and intelligent enough to distinguish between right and wrong, fairness and l have a conscience.

While l like Seun and would like to support "his project", l am too "independently minded" to remain loyal to anyone!
He can bet on my integrity and fairness but there will be times that "SEUN" will, like all humans, including myself, "miss it" and at those times, you dont need a "loyal and obedient" companion, you need someone who is bold enough, to tell you the truth, to "say it as it is".

To do otherwise is to wallow in mediocrity.

Let me ask SEUN, "what are your expectations of a moderator" that you require his/her loyalty and obedience to you?
What if a "politically charged but true post was made" or one against your interest"? would you require a "loyal and obedient moderator" to bring it down?

I cant remember who said it but it was said that " to demand loyalty and obedience from one human to another, is the beginning of dictatorship" (now, this is generally speaking!)
Now, imagine if even my parents demand absolute loyalty and obedience from me, even as a grown up (as opposed to a child)?
Is it that they are never wrong or is it that l dont have a mind of my own or is it that they dont trust my judgment or mental state or is it that they will prefer not to be told the truth when they are in the wrong?

I may be wrong but l think one of the things that would really make a "great site" is its independence and the independence of the posts their-in.
The feeling that "your voice will  be heard unedited, the way you want to say it".

I write on a few forums where my write-ups are not edited
I know the most "important rule" on Nairaland is not to annoy the Admin!(Seun) and l hope l have not, with my reminiscence? huh

I guess by now, it will be obvious that l can not qualify to be a Moderator grin

All the same, l wish Seun and all the MODS well.
,,,,, and please, easy with the hammer o! shocked

Politics › Re: Ribadu Resurfaces In Nigeria! by lastpage: 10:14pm On Sep 11, 2009
A "recurring phrase" in most "anti-Ribadu" posters is that  he was "A TOOL" used by OBJ to fight his enemies.
Granted, this is true. He who pays the Piper dictates the tune, to a large extent! wink
Shouldn't be so but OBJ is actually the main culprit here (as President and Commander-in-Chief), Ribadu to a lesser extent.

Now, TWO questions naturally follow:

1.) IF the President has the power to "appoint and dis-appoint (remove)" the EFCC chair-person, (and remember that what Obj did is exactly what is being played out between UMYA, Andooaaakkkaaa and Farida), from whom then does the EFCC chief, take his or her brief?

IF you are appointed to "do XYZ", you can either refuse the appointment or "do XYZ".
Ribadu may not have arraigned all the "big thieves in Nigeria (if we consider Tafa Balogun, a whole I.G of corruption not big enough,)  but he definitely has reduced their number by a few percentage. (those few percentage might be chipped out of OBJ's enemies but they are still corrupt thieves!)

The question l will ask all his detractors is "what have "YOU" done to reduce the number or percentage of corruption" in this country?

2. Since no one has come up with evidence to show that Ribadu was corrupt (all we hear are innuendos and baseless, unproven insinuations), we MUST then agree that he is NOT CORRUPT, until proved otherwise.

Having said that, if the F.G. declares him wanted and he strolls into the country, spent a few hours or days traversing the nation's capital cities and he was still not arrested then we can conclude that the F.G is just blowing SMOKE!

Even Farida Waziri, the I.G, all the SSS operatives did not touch him?!
What other "clean-bill" does he need?

To those that keep saying he should surrender himself, or he is abusing the law of the land", l think it is you people that are misguided (back2back and co).
An innocent man does not go to "Evil doers out to kill him" and say "Here l am, do as you wish", that would be very foolish.
It is not the duty of "the accused" to surrender (guilty or not), he should be arrested and we have employed and are paying "officers" to enforce the law of the land.

If you doubt this, just look at the way "lethal force" was used on those "Boko Haram" people! Those who floored Odi and some parts of the N.D are still alive and in service, those who will "kill and go" are still in employment, right?
How come Ribadu was able to come and go, if he was really a wanted-criminal?

Like others have highlighted, that the "civilized world" did not consult UMYA (due nonsense), Mr. 'Ruse of lawlessness" (A.G), Madam Waziri, or the Nigerian govt but would rather "consult and appoint" a "WANTED CRIMINAL", to address and represent them in teaching other countries how to fight corruption, is in itself a testament to how silly all the arguments against Ribadu are!

Can the whole world be stupid while it is only the corrupt fools in the "Nigerian Mafia" and a few hirelings on N.L., be the only wise ones?

If you have facts about Ribadu, "state it" or "shut up", better still, as a lawful citizen, go to court to have him convicted.
Dont just smear a man's integrity, out of malice.
Dont just hide behind your computer and be "yawning" rubbish like you're retarded.

If Ribadu today, can address those even our President can not be invited to address,
meeen, those accusing him need to really engage their brain before putting their mouth into GEAR.

Nuff said.

Its is FREE if and when the Provider you use, ENABLES IT ON THEIR NETWORK!

Our PTO's are just too greedy they would not enable such SERVICE on their Network but l bet that one "Naija Business man" can arrange with them for a fee, to offer the free service to our people for a fee!

We should demand that the PTO's enable this service for us, not jumping up and down to pay for it.

Of course, we should also bear in mind that it has the tendency to REDUCE the Income of the PTO's but then, somethings are just Immoral, like being forced to pay-call a Mobile just to pass info to your cousin at the next house!

I don't blame Yobo or any of the super eagles players.

Sack AMODU and bring in a foreign coach, that is the solution
. England has the best league in the world yet their present coach is a foreigner. Ericsson (hope this spelling is correct) was also a foreigner. The entire NFF should also be sacked, fired, dismissed, terminated.
I am very angry. Frank Oliseh in his days at Newsline said " if you take away football from Nigerians, we would be left with one thing, POVERTY". See,how Amodu has impoverished the entire nation.
The last time l checked, it was this useless foreign (German) coach that was in charge of the Eagles and Ghana walloped them?
The poor German that said he would live in Germany and coach Nigeria from there! grin
He did not even come back to Nigeria with his fumbling team!!
Thats what you are recommending AGAIN, like THE LAST TIME huh

Well, l hear some people make a lot of money each time we employ a foreign coach? huh

Better a "completely ignorant Amodu than a clueless foreigner"!

Winning is based on preparation and planning. End of story.
If you like, replace Amodu with Sir Alex, Prof. Wenger and Fabio Capello all roled into one, without Proper Preparation and Planning (PPP), Republic of Benin will still beat the "Chicken Eagles" grin

You should thank your God the woman in your live seem to be a dormant housewife.  Assuming I am your wife (thank God I'm not and thank your star for your wife, really!), you would have known there are two types of water (HOT AND COLD WATER ) Angry Angry Angry You see, it is not funny to me and anyone can laugh about this.  I hate lies and deceit especially in a relationship.  Guy, you are so, so lucky!  Sure you'd never play these games with SMART WOMEN.   For the sake of peace and rest of mind in your household, enjoy this FREEDOM now 'cos, it might not last unless your wife has no ambitions of her own and is happy to remains dormant in her married life otherwise, your would have learnt never to disrespect your life partner this way.

Because, you provide her with this and that, gave you the audacity to marginalise and treat her like a child, eh! Just wait, this your child-wife will grow up one day and when she does, you will know.  Thank God, Nigeria is developing fast in this area of things and you selfish and wicked husbands/boyfriends, will soon learn your lessons.
Ma Shista, no be fight now, unungo?
See grammar, see Police, see lawyer, see judge, see appeal!  grin cool

Anyway, thats how you feel, and its your right to feel as you like!

BTW, l want to make a general observation:

When a man loves his wife and is ready to do anything for her, hold her bags, open doors for her, sweep, cook and wash for her,do her biddings and both are generally happy with each other, e.t.c, some third-party person, MEN especially would refer to the man as "stupid, Woman-wrapper, weak man, mugun or that Juju is working on his brain  grin and all sorts of dissings like that!

The other side of the coin is when a woman loves her man and does not question his authority nor challenge his place in the household, she generally will do what pleases him, some third-party persons, especially women will call her "village-wife, child-wife, mumu, bush-woman, uneducated, uncivilized, unenlightened, dormant, dumb, unexposed, unambitious, e.t.c"! embarassed

Could it be that some have taken it to be their right to "set the rules" on how a husband and wife must relate and anything other than that is viewed negatively? Why cant people just mind their business and let husband and wife decide what is best for them instead of trying to influence one against the other?
And if per-chance, this same spouse should change to the opposite, some other groups will start the name-calling!

Feel free to comment on this, man or woman, take your side grin

Ok! that was unfair on my part. It is insensitive for me to just pick your post and refer to it as coming from someone with "poverty mentality".
Thats mean! My bad! Do Accept my apologies!

However, I tried to make a point. It is too common to see Nigerians celebrating at the downfall of any successful person! I usually call it "poverty mentality". That idea that the rich man next door is responsible for one's poverty! It just isn't right!
Fine, its true in the case of our thieving politicians, but not in the case of many of these bankers who worked real hard to get to where they are, it is false.
Papabrowne,
l also want to express my unreserved apology for replying in like manner, l guess two wrongs dont make a right.
I blew my fuse grin

first, l am not against rich people, infact, l wrote a rejoinder in respect of one of the Debtors who has shown some measure of commitment to his repayment, over time, (if not for the sake of confidentiality, l would have linked it right away).
Moreso, l was also a banker for many years before l went into other things that present greater challenges.

The crux of my argument is this:
1. Depositors expect a few things from their bankers: Security of their funds, pay-on-demand for their money, returns on their deposits by way of interest, as partner as they develop and grow their business. These are universal expectations or else, why would anyone keep money in a bank and be paying charges?

2. Depositors (big and small) should have preference in obtaining loans from their bank.

3. If a bank can not assist its small depositors to grow (very easy in the same U.K that Gettysburg empty-head,  is mouthing about) and become big players afterall, conglomerates also started small-small, what right does it have to give out loans to the tune of billions, UNSECURED? thereby putting the small-small change of those small players at risk!

I appreciate rich people, riches and those working "hard and smart" to be well-off, l dont consider myself poor also! grin though l am still a long way off, to my destination wink but really, l expect us (Nigerians) to be fair to people who are less privileged and struggling to stay afloat.

Have a cool day bruv.

@Soloqy
This is the kind of comment that keeps us rooted to where we are. In a cesspool of rot and decay and fraud.

Such denial.

You didnt read about the Nigerians caught in Ghana(yes ghana), who relocated to ghana because the Address Verification Systems for IPS(AVS) which online merchants have put in place, would not allow them do any fraudulent credit card transactions from Nigeria anymore.
Those countries didnt just wake up to decide to give Nigeria a 'bad name'.

Any email that is sent, the address or location of the person can be determined via an AVS or IP address.

When they recieve 1million scam letters and 999k of them is determined to come from Nigeria, what do you expect them to think or feel?
.
Soloqy, the highlighted part refers:
I think you would have had of Anonymizers before?
Any I.P address can be made to come from anywhere, its a question of choosing your Server.
What if, (like some foreigners prefer to use Nigerian Passports to commit crime) some of these scammers ain't even Nigerians but "anonymize" as if from Nigeria?
In this modern times, 99.99% of origin means nothing, in real terms.

You start by telling people like Thisday Newspapers that they are an embarrasment to Nigeria for inviting Olu Maintain to the States to sing Yahooze to distinguished guests. With all the 419 connotations.
if we go by your logic, then America, where the TUPACs, Dru and all the hard-core Rappers sing and hit platinum sales, on Rape, Gun-crime, Murder, Drugs, e.t.c, should have a worse image than just what "Olu Maintain" may have caused Nigeria, if truly it can be attributed to that song.

Just my 2cents.
Cheers.

BTW: Kobogunje, survey has shown that SONY PSP is loosing market by the day despite reducing its price (while Nintendo Wii does not and has double sales figure!) so l can understand their being desperate to "do anything" to attract attention, including maligning a whole nation.

All the same, you are as cheap as your SONY products grin
My greatest Joy was when my son read comments on NL and decided he would give-away his PSP (l have to buy the latest Wii as replacement though! huh ), and he thinks you're NUTS grin

Cheers

@Papabrowne
Isn't this what is termed poverty mentality?. Nigerians really do need to shed this mentality! Its too rampant here.
When you deposit money with a bank, you enter a contract with that bank to help you keep the money safely and not to provide loans for your business. Loan provision is at the discretion of the bank! Being a depositor does not automatically qualify you for a loan!

Depositors should stop whining as though they are shareholders.
Your ignorance stinks to high heavens!
If your educational level is up to secondary school, provided you weren't playing truancy all along, then l will suggest that you go a pick a copy of the most common Economics Textbook, (I will recommend O.Teriba grin to you, l doubt you could comprehend anything more advance!).

Check under the Heading "MONEY" and read the sub-topic "Duties/Roles of Commercial Banks".

It is part of the responsibilities of banks (at the macro level) to create Money (wealth).
This is done by offering "LOANS AND ADVANCES" to CUSTOMERS and charging INTEREST !
You are only required to meet the set criteria, to qualify.

You probably think they just lock-up those Billions of naira in the Vault (so that ignoramus like you can force your way-in tongue )

And talking of Poverty mentality, l will not even bother to answer you! lipsrsealed
U never reach, walahi!!

Go make some millions, build a few houses in choice areas of Lagos, own choice lands and have property abroad, then come back and see if you are close enough!
Then we can take a look at each others "mentality".

Lousy bloody cunt!
Politics › Re: Federal Govt Please Stop Sony Entertainment. by lastpage: 12:24am On Sep 05, 2009
I am deeply ashamed, not about SONY but about some idiots, scumbags that got their pregnancy delivered in Nigeria and gets to call themselves Nigerians.

First, l am surprised some of us can not separate "Bad Governance" from "Local criminals" and from "National Insults".

Let me explain:

1.) Our Government is very "baad", infact, it is non-existent. Most of the problems we have in this country can be traced to bad governance and criminal leadership.
If we had a good government that can provide "quality education", some cunt called "Kosovo" would not be mis-spelling and writing rubbish that he does not understand the full ramification.
The fella "Kosovo" went to school BUT unfortunately for him, he just PASSED through school, School did not pass through him, he is what we call "A LETTERED ILLITERATE"!
He can write in English (even when its mis-spelled and disjointed) but he lacks educated reasoning!

I know he is one of those highly traumatized Nigerians who will "sell their country's dignity" for a chance to live abroad! cry

2.) Criminals are those who do what is legally and morally wrong in the society.
They are not peculiar to Nigeria alone!
Infact, we delude ourselves thinking that because some ignorant and malicious people from the West find it entertaining to label us as criminals, we think we are somewhere near "the real criminals"?
Every country has its own fair share of criminals.

Ponzi-King "Madoff" is not a Nigerian
, yet he schemed the whole world, from rich to poor, white, black and Asian!
Tell me which Nigerian can match that American chap in scamming? Yet, its like its only Nigerians that scam? shocked

Nigerians, those engaged in Yahoo-Yahoo are very minimal in number (less than 0.5% 0f our 200Million population), unintelligent, petty thieves that make noise over the internet.
The real smart, silent and profitable crooks operate from the Eastern Block (dont want to name country names since its not all its citizens that are engaged in these bad behavior).
These guys are what is referred to as "organized criminals", they empty bank vaults and ATM's like its child play!

Yet, you dont hear them boasting on the internet or writing stupid, "ill-composed, grammatically suicidal"  scam letters (like our friend Kosovo is writing around here!) to people who are apparently smarter than them or boasting and jumping around when they make a few Dollars that soon run-out in a few weeks and they are back on the Computer again!
This our Yahoo boys are just petty thieves that needs to be flogged publicly, counseled and given employment to keep them busy.

3.)Now, "National Insult" is when someone or a group slams a derogatory statement on a whole nation, not minding whether there are upright people in that country (as we are all sure there are.)
IT IS CALLED PROFILING.

Its a generalization that is baseless and unscientific - Like saying all white people are Pedophiles simply because we can count a few hundred "white-skinned" child-rapists!
Or saying all "all South Africans are car-jackers" simply because the rate of car-jacking is high in S.A!
Its simply wrong. You can not judge a man based on Nationality.

But its even worse when some of the people so wronged and maligned are themselves "mentally and emotionally diminished", that they see nothing wrong with such profiling simply because they are stupid or have been conned into believing they are the worst creatures of God!

Such people, represented by Kosovo and his likes on this thread have shown that they are either criminals themselves or are just too mentally inferior to their accusers!

Whatever is the state of the Nigerian Nation right now, other countries have gone through an even worse situation in the past, and are today, better.
In Africa, Ghana was worse than these before they "acted" and took back their country from the Vampires "Servant Leaders" (Serpent Looters) that foisted themselves on the citizens.

Before the Eighties, Irish Citizens where flooding to Nigeria (Late Father Slattery of St Finbarrs College was one ) and we actually offered then "Economic and financial Aid" when their own country was in shambles. Today, they are better.

France was a "jungle" were blood flowed, before the French revolution, Italy was a fiasco before the Roman uprisings.
NO ONE LABELS THEM AS CRIMINALS,

Its criminal to profile any people based on race, color, nationality or religion; END OF STORY.
We can take SONY Corporation to Court.

What is wrong is wrong, even if the wrong is done against the most maligned people in the world.
Ignorance from a few people on this site does not constitute a verdict, even individuals can come together (proving that their interest as Nigerians have been hurt) and file a "group suit/ class action" against Sony (l am not a lawyer but the Lawyers in da house can bear me out on this matter).

We should not be feeling sorry for ourselves, we are not the worst people on earth, except if we feel we want to make ourselves one.

I know some people feel like shelving their Nigerian nationality (if it were a T-Shirt, some would have set fire to it grin) but hey, you did not ruin this country, did you?
Lets channel our anger properly and direct our bile/energy at those who ruined our nation, our Youth and our future.
They are still around enjoying the loot and and telling us to be patient, telling us to wait on God, telling us violence does not pay, telling us life is precious (which miserable life is that?), trying to cajole us into inaction, using our friends and church  grin

We can start by petitioning the American Senate, our Lawyers can band together and file a "class-action", we can picket the American and Japanese Embassy (peacefully), our "Area Boys" can be galvanized to "act against" SONY's interest in Nigeria, our computer hackers (in our higher institutions and at home) can "yaawaa" SONY's site, everyone can play a small part and next time, they will think twice before making us the butt of their silly jokes!

Can any one make such jokes about "Jews", or "Nazis"? or "Russians" or some so-called "Suicide Bombers"?
Nope, RESPECT IS DEMANDED AND EARNED,,,, NOT "EXPECTED"!

God help us, if we fail to help ourselves. Nuff said.
Lastpage.

BTW: If countries like America "have been fixed", you wouldn't have their jails full of criminals, same goes for Britain, e.t.c!
Its an "ongoing process" and can not be "fixed first"! We can not fix Nigeria first before refusing to be criminalized or profiled!

If really true, and l suspect it will turn out to be true, Granting loans without security, to the tune of Billions of naira, to family members, cronies and companies they have vested interest in, is a grave abuse of "Depositors Trust"in the ability of these CEO's, to manage and create wealth for their customers.

How can i deposit say #50,000 with a bank, when l need a loan of additional #50,000 to improve/expand my business, they would refuse, using some silly excuse or will ask me to go and bring the C-of-O of a storey building located in Lagos! huh

Yet, here they are granting Billions to their "favored" friends! using my/our money! shocked shocked

Sometime, l feel some of them should be allowed to rot in jail.
They are he ones killing this economy, along with the Political class.

Rubbish crooks grin

Why do we have referees in the first place if players can not tackle, can not dive, can not remove Jersey to celebrate a goal, can not wear a designer T-shirt we a "mess-Man-U" message underneath  Tongue , can not do sliding tackle, can not elbow some ruffian breathing down your neck, can not even glare at a wayward referee? What is football turning into?
@tocdee
Go watch some rugby then Wink I'm sure all those stuff are still allowed there!
Tocdee, what l am saying is that "for every sport, there are certain elements that makes it interesting; remove those elements an that sport becomes something else", , which may be less interesting.
There is this passion about football that makes it still interesting so much so that even if only a single goal is scored in 120mins (something American football lovers cant comprehend till date grin ), fans will still go home elated.

Over-regulation is what l am talking about!
If the Referee is forced to blow his whistle at every contact, in a "contact game" like football, then we might as well go to church an enjoy Sunday Mass, instead of "Super Sunday"! huh shocked

I guess my church pastor will croon "prayer answered"! grin

We need some fresh blood in FIFA and UEFA.

I think FIFA and EUFA are finally at tethers end!
If care is not taken, these "Ruling bodies" and their Potato-couch officials are going to ruin the beautiful game.

We are talking about football, not handball or horse-racing? huh How can you say Players should not dive?
Why do we have referees in the first place if players can not tackle, can not dive, can not remove Jersey to celebrate a goal, can not wear a designer T-shirt we a "Bleep-Man-U" message underneath tongue , can not do sliding tackle, can not elbow some ruffian breathing down your neck, can not even glare at a wayward referee? What is football turning into?

Somebody rescue our game from this charlatans that sit in their over-stuffed chairs, making rules right, left and center!
Look at the stupid punishment they gave Chelsea? So, if by some strange magic, most of their players get injury or decide to leave at the end of the season, they would be playing the EPL with just 7 players? shocked grin

Look at UEFA banning Eduardo because the FIFA Ref was blind, drunk and stupid 'on-duty'?
Was it Eduardo that blew the whistle for a penalty?
Instead of giving the Ref a thorough caning, for bad judgment, it was Eduardo, the young man that does not want his fragile leg broken finally, that is being called a cheat?

Did Platini put his legs down in those days, to be broken by a rampaging keeper on the charge?

Wonders will never end, l suspect football is beginning to wind down and we will all be Basketball very soon!

Or is it another American conspiracy to destroy the round leather game? lipsrsealed
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester Utd (2) Vs Arsenal (1) On Saturday 29th August by lastpage: 2:03am On Sep 04, 2009
I think Michel Platini and those Scottish people at EUFA are just being stupid.

How can anyone say Eduardo deceived the Referee into awarding a penalty?
Is the Ref dumb?
What is the Ref's job? Was he not trained to take a fair decision?
If the Ref was not sure of his decision, why did he not ask his lines-men?
Assuming Eduardo "dive", why did the Ref not Yellow-card him, as was done to Ebue?
Was it Eduardo that pointed to the spot and blew the whistle or does he have control over the Ref's action?
If a Referee declares a Penalty, can Eduardo as a player, change that decision, even by telling the Ref that he dived?

Its like saying "someone made you rob a bank" when you are caught in the act?

EUFA has just called that Ref a dumb idiot, no more!

Having said that, every player is taught to dive, in other to avert a dangerous tackle. We learn this things instinctively!
No one can eradicate diving, the simple solution, as they do in my own neck of the woods is that the Ref will just ignore you and wave play-on.
End of Story.

If you like, sleep there on the turf for the whole 90minutes, thats your "short-one" grin

EUFA REALLY SUCKS! tongue tongue tongue
