None of Uwazurike's children has ever been shot or even arrested for Pro-Biafa activities. They are all flexing in the wealth gotten from the Biafran struggle by Uwazurike.

None of Kanu's relations has been arrested for the Biafran struggle. His wife chose to protest for biafra abroad. Why didn't she come to Onitsha or Aba?

Why am I not surprised? sad You got called out on your attempts to rewrite the history of whole ethnic groups, and so the next thing you decided to do was to throw out insults? I have few questions for you which you have to answer satisfactorily or you keep mute and go and read. Questions: Why is Igbo and Yoruba under the same Kwa Family? What were the criteria used in this classifications? Why wasnt Igbo classified with their closest neighbours Ijaws in the South and CrossRiver in the East, Why with Yoruba? Were the two groups grouped together even without glaring similarities? Was this classification done by specialized anthropologist/ethnographers/scientist or was it done by quacks orally? Has there been any DNA test relating Yoruba-Igbo-Edo? After answering these questions satisfactorily I'm sorry for your outbursts, Truth is bitter they say. Your outbursts have no bases... Only in-built envy... Shake it off and open your eyes to new superior horizons and views. It is not a matter of opening your mouth and talking
Guy, go back and re-learn the facts, and stop trying to elevate your false hypothesis to a high art. I have told you before, the fact that certain tribes belong to the same 'kwa family, does not mean their languages will not be mutually unintelligible to each other. Stop trying to force a wrong identity on different ethnic groups.

You might have a point in this thread but I'm just remembering how much you like to accuse Igbo people of forcing an ethnic identity on unrelated tribes.

Remember you saying I came to face the Igala and dictate to them on that Kogi thread I made? Do you know my grandma's Igala by blood, hm? Or does being Igbo alone mean I'm trying to push an identity on people I supposedly know nada about? huh
Yes, I have always accused the IPOB-ian Igbo people of forcing their ethnic identity on others. Going by their antecedents on NL, I have no apologies for asking them to stay in their lane. They have opened several threads on such issues. undecided

As for the Igala thread, yes I do not deny asking the Igbo to stop trying to declare to the Igala what their identity was, or what they felt it should be. They have done so in the past, on different threads. undecided I believe it is the indigenes of a place that can state exactly who or what they are, or where their origins emanated from.

A lot of tribes have diverse, multicultural origins, and many of their people like to identify with their diverse origins. Most of the time, it is the Igbo who are not even related to such communities or tribes, that try to foist a mono-cultural identity on these tribes, and get very offended when members of such tribes do not subscribe to their assertions. angry This same attitude was displayed on the Ika, Igboid vs. Anioma thread, too. sad

The company is a business it is not limited to Lagos or Nigeria oil.Just like you have the right to start such a business so does Lagos State , There is nothing stopping other states doing so whether alone or in combination /partnership with other entities individual corporate or governments and if they do they are free to compete with SHELL and others. This is not limited to oil and gas but ANY OTHER BUSINESS whether Telecommunications, Aviation, Banking etc.Everything Dangote is doing a state government can do.The problem with Niger Delta Leaders is they lack imagination
Oh, I didn't even know that you had given him such an articulate response. Na you talk am well, sef! cheesy

bakynes:
You are not well informed about anything in the Oil and Gas Sector. The Ibile Oil and gas company is owned by the Lagos state but the Oil produced is owned by the FG through NNPC and Lagos will only get it's own share of the 13% derivatives. Your state Governors have many private Oil companies that drill and produce Oil, they collect contracts from the Oil majors but all the money accured is going into their pockets which they ought to make a state govt Oil company since they are using the state money.

Ambode could have done that too by secretly setting up a private Oil company to collect drilling and production contracts from NNPC but he didn't do that instead he set up a Lagos state Oil company to do that. So all the money accused is coming back to the state purse.

Lagos Oil is Nigeria's Oil they will only get 13% derivatives.
Another great response. Well said!! cool

So it is slavery if the wife submits to the husband in whatever acceptable forms. And the husband is ready to lay down his life for his wife?

The other day Nigeria's richest woman, Mrs Alakija said she's washing her husband clothes. She is a slave too right?

We just copy oyinbo blindly and relegate our own culture and biblical injunctions.

One of the major challenges of Africans is that we do not have a voice of our own. The whites ( we are also becoming whites by the day by the use of chemical creams in order to appear attractive and intelligent) dictate everything bad to us including same sex marriage and we accept them in order to appear 'civilized'

Chinese, Japanese, Indians have their own distinct cultures and values which they are proud of and these have helped them in no way to develop their home grown technologies that have become the wonders of the new world order.

Marriages don't last in western world. They must not last here too now because we don't want to be slaves to our husbands or protective of our wives.

It is only we, especially Nigerians that will squeeze their noses to sound like the British or the Americans whereas these people still value some of these things that we think are not longer fashionable.
So you think that the only way for a woman to show submission is by kneeling down? Amazing. cheesy There are women who know how to kneel down at the drop of a hat, but have a sharp mouth that can cause havoc at the slightest opportunity. Others have such a pretentious attitude that will make it difficult for a man, to know whether she is coming or going. sad

It is not a crime if a man wants a subservient woman. All he has to do, is to make it clear to every babe he meets (right from the toasting stage, o!) that this is the kind of behaviour that he expects his prospective wife to display, or these are the conditions she must fulfil. undecided But most men would not do that. They are too busy observing the physical attributes of the babe and her dexterity in the 'other room,' to pay deep attention to her manners, attitude and behaviour, her likes and dislikes as well as her cultural norms, and spiritual values. sad

In their bid to sample as many babes as possible, they end up with baby mamas, fashionistas or slay mamas who have little or nothing to offer, apart from an opinionated view or vacuous inanities. I pity the current generation of men. They need a lot of luck, and a huge dose of common sense. undecided

onitsha got its first river s port on 1879 but was destroyed doing the war .if fg treat all regions equal, many cities will rise in Nigeria and not just Lagos
List the airlines that applied for licenses to land in Enugu, but were denied the opportunity to do so. sad Please provide the relevant links and url, so we can read and verify! undecided When Stella Ada Oduah was Minister of Aviation, why didn't she license different airlines to carry out operations at Enugu airport? When Kema Chikwe was also a former Minister of Aviation, how come she failed to license many airlines to carry out cargo and passenger operations at Enugu airport, during her own time?

Exactly. The picture quality and the pomp and pageantry is up there. But the delivery especially from the Actors were average a best. Alibaba was not convincing as a typical Yoruba man. Neither was RMD and Iretiola doyle as an Igbo man and woman respectively.
What is a typical Yoruba man, and how exactly does he behave? And in what way did RMD and Ireti Doyle fail in their attempts to portray an Igbo man and woman, respectively? huh Each ethnic group is made up of people with diverse features, characters, backgrounds, lifestyles and inclinations. Sadly, most folks only believe and propagate stereotypes, for reasons best known to them.

The Film was meant to entertain and it did just that. In the peak of Winter, people troop to Wembley Stadium in London to watch football matches just to get entertained and not to receive any message!
What a beautiful rejoinder!! God bless you. cheesy I still do not understand why some folks think that every film has to have some kind of political undertone or message, for it to appeal to the audience. Haven't they ever heard of people creating "art for art's sake?" huh

They don't share anything in common yet they are placed in the same African Family of Kwa, where I can mouth - Onu and they call Mouth - Onu, I call Ear - Nti and the call Eti, Where I call Spring water - Omi and they call water - Omi... You see you are out here not to make any sense. You have refused to illustrate something systematically and academically. In science you prove and not state or deny. You are not quarrelling with anyone. I am not in for that ethnic rubbish, loud mouthedness and sacarsim, cos I don't think anyone has monopoly of it. What is the confusion here? That your ego wouldn't allow you identify similarities between groups? If they are not related, then they don't have any business being in the Kwa Family group of Black Africans! Talk and behave like an educated personality if you are one!
Guy, you are not just confused, but totally clueless. So blo*dy what if they belong to the 'kwa family? huh Do you know how many tribes belong to the kwa group, yet their languages are mutually unintelligible to each other? Do you think everyone is gullible enough to swallow the lies you are trying to recycle and pass off as 'truth' here? The only person spewing ethnic rubbish, loud mouthedness and sarcasm is you!! You know what? Never mind....
