Toks2008: And this is wjy many Nigerian ladies will grow grey hair waiting gor a husband.
You spend nights with a strugggling guy in one room apartment,he screws u at will front and back in one room apartment, sometimes u cook for him and do his laundery yet u say he is not ready for marriage,he is jobless,u cant marry him in one room apartment...DUMB FOOL. Please what else does he want from a wife?
Most Nigerian ladies are so so dumb...the economy of this country no longer warrant the criteria of this job thing. Where is the Job sef?
What a lady needs is a man with vision, purposeful will and leave the rest to GOD. . How many men have proposed to a girl while they were struggling or jobless & living in a one-room apartment? Do you know of any, as am yet to see one. A lot of such men will tell the girl directly and indirectly that they are not financially ready to take a wife.....some even go as far as telling her to hold on by promising that things will get better. And in some cases, the poor girl does exactly that. She may even assist the guy financially from her meagre earnings, once in a while. Once things improve, many guys start looking for excuses. That is when you hear stories like: "She is too old for my taste!" Guy, you met this girl when she was 24, but now after spending time waiting for you to make up your mind and praying to God to improve your lot, she is now 32 years old. Suddenly, she has become old, abi? God dey! Other stories you will hear include: "She is not from my area.." Bros, when she was using her small salary to go to the market and cook for you while you dated for more than 7 years, and when she was helping you with small loans in order to ease the financial pressure on you as well as letting you slake your lust in her body, you did not remember that one oh! Dia ris God, oh! Or the last one: "My people said she is not good for me!" Chai! When you were poor and you were telling her to stick around because tomorrow would be bright, you did not ask your people's opinion oh! Now that you have exchanged your 'leggediz-benz' for a Kia Cerato, your family have suddenly decided to voice their opinion.... There is something called karma.... |

CaseyA: The Nigeria Railway has been neglected for some decades now. An industry that served Nigerians so well... But thank God... We can now Smile. The Trains are back. But for an industry that was in existence in the dark days of NO internet. There is NOT much provided online. So with this crowd sourcing blog cum portal we hope to guide all those intending to take a Train ride. Just visit http://www.naijarailway..com Bros, I checked the portal and was embarrassed. Too many spelling errors & grammatical mistakes. Kindly correct them. The correct word is 'Corporation' and NOT 'Coperation.' "Nigerian' is the correct spelling, and not 'Nigeran' in the second sentence where you stated that " Nigeran Railway Trains Back and Better..." Finally, your blog still does not contain any information that is different from the NRC website. Imagine, there is no schedule or rates showing the cost per trip for train rides from Lagos Iddo Terminal to Ikeja or to Ebute Metta Junction. It is so sad....more than 3 years later, nothing is being done to educate the citizenry or create awareness about how much it costs to take a train ride within Lagos, or go by rail from Lagos to Abeokuta or Ijoko-Otta. I will not even mention the possibility of booking train rides online, as I know it does not even exist in the agenda of the NRC management. And some people are being paid to run the NRC. Dia ris God oh! |

meforyou1: Lagos, a conquered colonial enclave, has never been, and will never be yorubaland Let me guess...you now speak for all the people that come from Lagos State, abi? ? You need to take a course in History. Wikipedia is your friend: Wikipedia: Area Lagos has a total of 3,577 square kilometers; 787 square kilometers is made up of lagoons and creeks including: Lagos Lagoon, Lagos Harbour, Five Cowrie Creek, Ebute-Metta Creek, Porto-Novo Creek, New Canal, Badagry Creek, Kuramo Waters and Lighthouse Creek.
Names of Lagos Lagos means "lakes" in Portuguese, the language of first European-settlers known to visit the settlement, then already inhabited by the Awori people, in 1472.[1] From the first contacts with the region until the early 20th century, another Portuguese name for the city that was interchangeably used was Onim,[2] finally abandonned in favor of Lagos.
Prior to Lagos being adopted, the settlement was called Eko by its Kingdom of Benin conquerors, which stems from either Oko (Yoruba: "cassava farm" or Eko ("war camp" .
Founding of Lagos According to the oral history of Lagos, at some point around 1300-1400 CE, the Oba (King) of the Benin Empire - who used to send trade expeditions to Ghana, where spices were traded - heard from one of his traders complaints about the way she was being treated by the Awori who lived in the area of current day Lagos. The Oba of Benin then sent a trade expedition by sea to engage with the Awori people, who nonetheless declined to engage and attacked the mission sent by Benin.
Upon hearing this as the mission returned to Benin City, the Oba of Benin commanded the assembling of a war expedition, led by Ado, a Benin Prince, which headed to the settlement of the Awori (current-day Lagos; then called Eko by the Benin people) and demanded an explanation.
On getting there, Ado and his army were more than well received - the Awori from Lagos asked Benin Prince Ado to stay there and become their leader. Ado agreed, on the condition that they surrendered their sovereignty to the Oba of Benin, to which the Awori people of Lagos agreed.
Upon hearing this, the Oba of Benin gave his permission for Prince Ado and the expedition to remain in Eko with the Awori. The Oba of Benin later sent some of his chiefs, including the Eletu Odibo, Obanikoro and others, to assist Ado in the running of Eko.
