dupyshoo: Regarding the bolded, in which field will you easily get this pay in Australia? If it is IT, then you will need years of experience. I was recently comparing IT salaries in UK vs Australia and I realised IT kind of pay more in the UK. Not so sure of other profession though.
Australia also come with a lot of issues such as high cost of living, expensive houses among others. All countries have their pros and cons. You forget to Add that snakes are your next door neighbour in Aussie |

giselle237: you are unserious. You came to this country of your own accord. Nigeria did not send you here. Nigeria did not send anyone here. What’s all this drama? The UK is skimming/scheming of the best of you?? Tuh! What is this you are speaking? Did they ask for you? You were looking for a better life and came here. Nigeria DID NOT SEND ANY BRIGHTEST AND BEST ANYWHERE. We came for better lives. Stop this for God’s sake. We can’t fight the power that be in Naija yet we come here and want to fight another man’s country. If can’t build where we come from we will always be a second class citizen even with your red passport. |

RalphJean: So long as you want to justify British Policies, using NIGERIAN standards, you will never get it right in this debate.
For you to suggest that Legal and law abiding Nigerian Immigrants in the UK should not be treated as equals and Infact should not have ‘audacity of equality’ proves how you want to judge the British society using (your) Nigerian standards. My own is as a black skinned you can never be free in a white man land. They are the majority and they will always make/ bend the rules to benefit their own. |

kwakudtraveller: Imagine calling people’s view on neocolonialism nonsense just to sound politically correct. The UK gains way more from Africa’s natural resources annually than the change they give in the guise of "aid". Na our leaders I blame, if they didn’t mess up the country to the point where we all had to run to another land for "greener" pastures, we wouldn’t be having this conversation where people see opposing views as faux activism. When some of you are done jocking the people who were actually born here, remember that your passport is still green, you are still black and changes in immigration policies still affect you regardless of your visa status. Enough of the rant. Where do we go from here and how do we correct things. Not buy big grammar online. The change starts with you and i |

Schoolhike: Another angle to this is that, securing a job with less than 2 months left on the visa might be a little bit off to some employer most especially those that can’t sponsor, except if you are only pursuing sponsorship jobs.
Last year December, I locked up not to only apply for jobs that can sponsor, so I started applying to jobs that can’t sponsor after getting the psw, eventually got one, after 4 months on the job, like 10 of us in the company were made redundant, eventually got another one (which would probably come with sponsorship from my research), after a month of thorough searching with lots of interviews rounds like 2 in a week,
(then I remembered an advise from the thread that not to be too loyal with a company when opportunity arise, some other opportunities did arise when on that job, but turned a blind eye)
Well all in all, would advise you apply as soon as possible cos of the increment and also be able to apply for jobs without the fear of an expiring visa which some employer might take serious because sincerely, I got to know during my job search that the competition out there is stiff, compared to when I came in in 2021. Competition is very stiff. It’s hard to get an interview this days |

Once some people start earning change from HCA job they just give up on their dreams. Well maybe their dreams is to become care worker 🤷🏽♂️ |

rinzylee: I'm tired of these headless arguments .
If we are tired of UK, then leave to another country.
No one forced anybody to come here.
The day you took that visa, you signed up for any "shit".
We can cry and moan, it is their country.
If we had it better... ..... .... 1 pound won't be 995 naira today.

samsmokey: PSW can work in any sector indeed, but why would they go for PSW in the first instance which is essentially worthless if they aim for ILR in 5yrs? How many of the blue collar jobs are offering sponsorship outside H&C? After spending £15-20k for an MSc why should the new entrants not target the “high powered” jobs? You don’t expect someone who invested so much in their education to just go do something else unless as last resort do you? In case you’re not aware, SWV holders cannot work outside of their primary field. Knowing Nigerians and the hustling spirit, I know their are many people with white collar jobs who wouldn’t mind doing a second or even third white or blue collar job to build themselves up, but the same government made that a very complicated process. No one is doing the other a favour in this country, if the government wants to fill more blue collar or low skilled occupations, they can come down their high horse and recruit low skilled people to come in and do the jobs. We have an abundance of people in Naija and other parts of Africa. If they only want to attract the best and brightest don’t expect they’d come in and be in servitude to you for eternity, everyone follows the money. Pls Some should share that driving in the uk Thread. |

Goke7: who were they expecting to fill in the gaps, Angels from Heaven? Look here, the Brits are what they are, it's even beyond the issues of racism, they just get irritated when they are fed up of so many people within their space contending for the same resources whether white, brown, or black. From the old days of the Windrush generation to Brexit, it's the same story and the same narratives around net migration and how it's affecting them badly. The benefits they have enjoyed from this migration influx over the years they play down when whenever they are bored. It's a cycle or is it now they realise the benefits of being in the EU? do we not hear stories of how the Windrush generation helped to build their NHS and even their railways? did they not always wake up one day and start chasing people up and down be it Europeans or whoever.
Now they are even fed up with even the refugees from Ukraine and Hongkong, nothing is new jare about their behaviour This is the truth…once they sense other race filling out their jobs or where they live they will begin agitating to kick them out one way or the other. We should all realise that eve if you acquire British passport, it doesn’t make you one of them. They know their own people and when it’s time they will show their real colour. |
