bigtt76: Una nor de fok? Funny as it may sound, but it is the truth. I don't know the cause of your quarrels though but I think if she say she doesn't like you ignoring her during such quarrels ...try to be the bigger person and don't ignore her. Never leave the house in anger or sleep over a quarrel. Sometimes just a hug and some knacks would resolve the whole issue. Also try to initiate moves to see the gynecologist if conceiving is an issue ...this is one of the causes of tension in newly weds. God bless your marriage.
Updated.. Before I forget ...you guys should sign up to go see a professional marriage counsellor that is if you try playing the bigger person to resolve the issue doesn't work out. Think of what she loves best, order it and get it delivered to her at work or at home. Ladies love surprises. Try to knack too ...inside kitchen or where she least expect in the house ooo big tt |

PalestianIsrael: Her visa is tied to mine and she would be shooting herself in the foot as well, maybe we’ll both go home. At this point, I can’t rule out anything from her. I have seen insanity face to face. So sad that I used to judge men in my position in the past, meanwhile the wife is literally instigating the violence by struggling, slapping, bringing knives (poking me with the knife) etc. and anything resulting from struggle/self-defence is called assault. It’s utterly ridiculous. I have minor cuts all over and my body is aching me from slaps and blows. slaps cuts blow my guy you better flee.. |

Taal17: From the paragraph shared , seems they are targeting health and care visas that don't have prerequisite qualifications. i.e care assistant jobs. Limiting those to no dependents allowed leaves them for single ppl, students in the UK and excluded migrant families. That answers to the political posture of reducing legal migration numbers. They also want to nurse and mid wives from naija to rewrite nursing exams. |

jedisco: P.s I found this reddit page interesting- mirrors some of my sentiments on care jobs. https://reddit.com/r/UKJobs/s/qAUr5e9reP
I'm keen to see how the care issue would be solved... no easy answers her. It's a sector largely contracted to private firms (that have to be efficient to survive) and has for a longtime been heavily reliant on foreign labour. The funding from the government has been constrained hence why they struggle to demand a reasonable minimum pay for the sector. Even the UKVI salary limit had to be reduced for carers.
With EU net migration becoming negative post brexit, the visa pathway became needed (not wanted). With masters students now being barred from bringing dependents in, there'd be more constraints. Also, that no one needs to have a prerequisite qualification and there being hundreds of such firms make it prone to abuse. Eventually, it'd have to be culled but lets hope its not another deja vu. The comments on reddit thread is something else. Even brits are complaining about jobs, underemployment.. |

rinzylee: Bro, no be today e start. All those Senators all own business in African countries. They have back ups here and there. But, they would never initiate and sustain policies that would make agro business thrive for the common man.
Uganda and Kenya are reaping massively from agro export.
With our arable farmlands in Naija herdsmen no go allow you see road.
Imagine the market sesame, ginger, hibiscus (which we relegated to making zobo) , cashew, stoneflower, etc control globally.
Indians and Lebanese and Chinese guys with their heavy capital and favours from greasing palms are exploiting these markets in naija.
I remember how these guys would go to farm gate and because they are fair and yellow , they spoil the price and the unexposed natives who have not seen oyibo fall over themselves to sell to them. I suddenly become "Omo yigbo" as better don come. The problem of that country is just deep rooted.
Abi na the wahala of getting goods into the ports? Chai... Naija needs a miracle. I remember how Indians come to farm and buy all cashew seed from farmers. |

KOVIC19COVID20: I thought I was the only one who noticed. It’s like there is some voyeuristic orgasm she gets whenever ‘Church’ is mentioned. Even if she’s on Nairaland holiday. As soon as church is mentioned, she will rush to castigate.
What I know - for a fact (and based on my UK experience) and the experience of thousands of others is that we have amazing stories of how God used the Church as a place of comfort for us when we arrived as newbies in this obodo UK.
For every 1 negative experience that some people may have, I dare say there are thousands (nay, millions) of positive experiences. But guess what? A microscopic few, very vocal minority makes it look like the ‘Church’ is a horrible place. Far from it!
Ps: Who else notice that there is this certain individual who is like Justwise’s doppelgänger. Whose moniker starts with the 1st letter of the African country that Priti Patel (and now Suella) wants to send small boat arrivals to. The individual’s moniker ends with the letter of the alphabet that rhymes with eggs. The individual Always, always concurs, seconds or supports any post by Justwise. 😉😉😉😉😉 When are Africans going to break free from religion contraption? white man that brought Christianity to you has moved on to other things. |

justwise: I was a victim of this in my first few months in this country, the default advise given to new immigrants is to find a Nigeria church so as to get help with job, accommodation etc
I get to know a Nigerian through a family friend here when i was looking for accommodation, He gave a room in a house he was subletting, gave me a bible, helped me find a 'job' with Royal Mail,(i worked for a day and never went back) took me to their church where he is very very respected and almost everyone knows him.
I was settled with him and keep going to that church even without him. when i moved in there he told me that the rent is bills inclusive(£50 a wk) which i was happy with.
just 3wks in the accommodation i received a bill of £200, i called to ask him and he said i should just pay it.
The job he helped me with turns out to be an arrangement with the agency whereby he will be getting £1 hourly from my pay and i was let into the warehouse through the backdoor, no training, no orientation given. After the day shift he wanted me to go back for night shift but i refused and he was pissed.
We had a physical fight because of the bill and he asked me to move out immediately that night after i paid for only 3wks i lived there.
That winter night i went to woolworths (now closed) to buy a bag to pack my stuff and the next day I was on the street looking for an accommodation, missed lecture that day, at the end i found nothing, i came back locked myself inside and he tried to break the door down to through me out.
It was a Zimbabweans i met while looking for a house the previous day that helped me to find a place and i finally moved out.
This is just the summary of the event as the fight lasted for 12days before i moved out. A likely scenario is a guy here that is trying to rent out a house. They will rent house at lesser price and giving it out at a neck breaking price. |

yolkman20: Hello everyone, Please I need advice. I'm in a situation and i need advice on how to opt out. So my uncle wife took advantage of my wife because of too much respect. (wifey bleeped up big time). We recently moved close to them because she's the one who helped us with COS. She recommended a cooking pot (salad master) as we needed to set up the house and kitchen, but i declined immediately after i heard the price (4200 pound DD payment for 4years for 5pcs set.) During the chat, i discovered she'll get about 500quid referral and thats why she's desperate for us to buy it. The discussion happend about 3 other times and my response was no. My uncle got involved at a point and he also supported her wife because that's what they use too but i insisted. Then she turned to my wife and start to convince her but we'd already discussed and it was a NO. Fast forward to a month after, my wife was in their house sleeping, she then woke her up only for her to see the pot has been supplied, and they were already cooking with it for her induction and to use it. In the prescense of the supplier, my wife tried telling her we've already discussed this many times and we were not interested but she cut her and told her since they were already cooking with it, we cant opt out. She couldnt call me because she wasn't with her phone. She ensured all the paper works was done and DD was set before she let her near her phone. My wife has so much regard for her and that's why she couldn't say NO. Too much respect...
I got to know that day and i got mad at her, how can you let her lure you into a 4k financial engagement despite several discussions, she just dey cry and she was preggy....
I immediately told her to come take the pot but the supplier said no way, DD has been set and there's no going back)(dey don plan am.) Bleep up i did was, i should've rang the company directly but i just gave up because i dont want issues between me and egbon. Now, COS no get shift, there's no work in cardiff at all and all the load is on me. DD is 94quid per month and it's choking.
Here is my question, is there anything i can do to opt out legally? we're 6 months into the contract and it feels like forever, i dont mind losing 1k just to opt out, but i dont wanna do this no more... We can't afford with the all the bills and expenses we already have.
It's tiring... I look forward to ya'lls suggestions Una no rate us on this forum at all. 4200 for pot na wa |
