Nigeria is a country where an eighteen year old can go to bed broke and emerge in the morning as a billionaire despite not having won a lottery or having inherited a fortune. That is how low the society in Nigeria has sunk since the ascendancy of the oil money dependence by governments in Nigeria and since the ascendancy of prosperity preaching by self styled 'men of God'. In any society where no one cares about anyone's source of income, crime will then soon become a culture. It never used to be like that in Nigeria. No society started off being decadent. No society is originally afflicted with clergy that will celebrate such dangerous anomalies as Godsent miracles.

However, where is correction going to come or start from when even the respected and trusted clergy are steeped in thesame filth? We live in a country where a Bishop Oyedepo of Winners Chapel Incorporated will cheekily declare in the public that he established a university worth tens of billions of naira using private funds. This is a man who has no other known source of income apart from his work as a clergy man. Yet the man can come out in the public and declare that he built a university without touching a kobo of church funds. This inadvertently means that the university is registered in his name and as his personal estate.

These capitalist Pastors see themselves as mafia dons who are above the law. They see themselves as people that can not be questioned or brought to accountability by any institution. They are a law unto themselves. Bishop Oyedepo is morally a sibling of the notorious Pastor Adeboye of the RCCG who had over 160 people killed for rituals and etc, all while posing to the public as a holy clergy man with a broad smile plasticked on his face.

These people are the people trusted by Nigerians. They are therefore the problem with Nigeria. When you are failing serially you have to ask yourself sincerely 'Who do I trust?' Not all Pastors are crooks. The clergy is not the only vocation crooks have invaded in Nigeria. However, many Pastors have skeletons in their cupboards like heading a very conservative church while being a closet homosexual and condemning the practice in public and etc. However, the crook who is a Pastor is likely to be more successful in the short term than others who are straight because of the crude manipulations and brutal criminal approach such a person will covertly bring to bear. A crooked Pastor will fatally crush any opposition in his path without thinking twice and while smiling, go to extreme lengths to institutionalise his church, fake miracles and etc and therefore gain a multitude of gullible followers easily. Their empires are built through sheer but covert violence and etc.

If Bishop Oyedepo had come from a country that is not morally bankrupt, then the Covenant university, he publicly boasted about would have been seized from him after investigations spurred by that public statement of his. However, this is yet to happen just thesame way yahoo boys are allowed to roam the streets without inhibition.

Bishop Oyedepo can not easily make billions from bank robberies, advance free fraud, online scams and etc even if he is into those criminal ventures too, and he has no business that can mass such huge returns to build a university within such a short time that he built the university.

I urge the police to investigate him for oil bunkering to save the nation's name and for Nigeria to be taken seriously as against indiscipline. Oil bunkering is an ongoing criminal venture in Nigeria where huge money that can be used to establish a university can be easily made by a criminal having regular deals within a short time.

No country, not even Nigeria should descend so low that a clergy man will publicly make such statements as credited to Bishop Oyedepo without inviting police investigations.

Ifa Divination is to communicate with your Ori or higher self or maybe I could say Olodumare, the Supreme being and the resources, for guidance. So, is it the people who could not or who failed in stopping Russia, China, India, North Korea, Pakistan from having locally produced nukes that are in a position to stop any nation from advancing or industrializing? They have principles that they run their nations with and such a course of action is against those principles.


So, what was the AG leadership expecting? For the US, Britain, China, India to come and force them to trust them? Orisha religion system does not recognise a single all-powerful god but 401 Irunmales who govern the earth and the ancestors realm. Eledumare is one and part of the Irunmoles. Yoruba religion system is different entirely in the cases of Abrahamic religion (Christianity and Islam). The 400 Irunmoles and Orishas are been worshipped. Ones Ori is a deity which have a dedicated shrine/altar, prayed to and scarifices made to appeals to it. Egungun (dead living ancestors) are been worshipped in a dedicated shrine among families. This does not end with worshipping but a belief that these deity are closer to one and are powerful. The case of a single all-powerful God is ruled out here. This is polytheism.

On the other round, Eledumare is not been worship in Yoruba religion system. Eledumare does not have a dedicated shrine, ordain a special prayer or ask anyone for sacrifice. He does not seek for our faith. He only set everything in motion and interfare not in the system of things. This is classical deism.

Yoruba religion system could have been tagged Henotheism but there is no record that Eledumare been worshipped directly.

Now you need to understand what polytheism really is. Polytheism is the worship of or belief in multiple deities/gods usually assembled into a pantheon of gods and goddesses, along with their own rituals. In most aspect, the gods and goddesses are representations of forces of nature or ancestral principle, and can be viewed either as autonomous or emanating part of a creator God.

All the Orishas are representation of forces of the nature and are been worshipped as part and constellation of Eleduamre. This is polytheism not only in the number of God but belief in the existence of a specific pantheon of distinct deities called Orisha or Imole.

It is more complicated than you think and there was no Ifa in Egypt nor Orunmila, Ogun, Obatala and etc. Those are indigenous to this area. However we speak an Egyptian language that was spoken in Egypt thousands of years ago. The linguistic evidence is valid and a ressurrected Egyptian of 5 thousand years ago would be able to communicate with Yoruboid speakers to a large extent. Those Egyptians gave us names like Daodu which is David and Moremi. I am still looking for the equivalent of Moses, it may be Amusan . Those early Hebrew names were definitely Egyptian in origin especially Moses, Miriam and Aaron, Joshua which means victor and may infact be same as Ajase. Joshua is same as Yisha which is Jesus. Akhenaten means effective for Aten as Akinogun means effective for Ogun. Peter is Apata which means rock. So the evidence is more than overwhelming. Sueg is suegbe which means fool. Ika is ika meaning wicked, ibudo is ibudo which means dwelling place. Majority of modern Yoruba words were used exactly in same way in Egypt. The language of the Israelite was ancient Yoruba of Egypt before they switched to the Semitic language they speak now. Those are the incontestible facts.


My position.

During the peak of Egyptian empire, the Ife people spoke proto Akoko. The Egyptians established Egypt from Ife over 5 thousand years ago and saw Ife as home, so when their civilization collapsed, a large contingent of them relocated to Ife that they saw as the remnant of the lost Atlantis that we here call Ife Oodaye, they met people on the ground speaking Akoko on Yoruba land. Akoko is still spoken in Kogi, Kwara, Ondo and Edo states, in remote parts of Yoruba lands forming a semicircle over Yoruba land sort of. Those are the people who kept the old language, the remainder now speak Kemitic Egyptian but we are not wholly or majorly descended from them. That is hardly possible. Ife is from the very beginning and I blv Orunmila was not Egyptian. He is infact described in Ifa as going to Ejigbokoro or Ejigbomekun, Ejigbo for short, which apparently means Egypt.


Later in the 7th century, the Ifa oracle halted the installation of an Olofin Aye in Ife, saying a stranger will arrive and that stranger must be given the position. That stranger crowned in Ife instructed his children that he is a descendant of Nimrod which brings South Arabia into the equation. A monarch or aristocrat from South Arabia, Mecca was made Olofin Aye in Ife because Nimrod is a property of South Arabia just like Osiris is a property of Egypt.


That is my submission. The large group that gave us our language were Egyptians but Oduduwa was a South Arabian that came from Mecca.

This is probably the first time you're saying something about Igbo culture/history that I agree is probably very close to the truth. I independently arrived at a similar conclusion about the etymology of 'Igbo' years ago. My theory is somewhat more complicated than yours, however.

Concerning Ndi (Igbo) and Idi (Yoruba) however...I do not find your hypothesis convincing.

What about Ikwerre and Nkwerre?

To buttress Gov Jeb Bush's position that strong families inside strong communities is the most viable anti poverty (even anti societal ills) measure, look at Hausa land and the Almajiri scourge on that land which lies in the foundation of the religious extremism prevalent in the Hausa culture of nowadays unlike in the past. The Almajiri system ensured that the Hausa masses in the past were literate in Arabic while only an elite group of the Yoruba were literate in that script. It came along with Islam and derailed the Hausa from what God created them to be. In that system, if I marry and have children, I will hand that child over to a Mallam who will tutor him and that child may not return home, he will be radicalised and will become a Muslim adult zombie, ready to kill for Allah at anytime. Go to Hausa cities and see them on the streets in their millions, begging for alms and causing trouble all over the place.


WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?

As posited by Gov Jeb Bush in his Washington post article, the best way of tackling poverty and I will add all societal ills is the family unit, a strong unit headed by two parents, working parents who are totally committed to the proper upbringing of their children while being propped up by their community.


Pray, why would a family propped up by two workers having two or three children not be able to build those children up into responsible adults? All children can even be put in tax funded schools financed jointly by all workers to reduce cost per capita. That should be the ideal globally and such an education ought to be compulsory.


So, the Hausa nation should take Governor Jeb Bush's advise by banning the Almajiri system, the minimum should be for two workers to marry, have children and support those children until they become RESPONSIBLE ADULTS WITH MARKETABLE SKILLS.


May God assist the Hausa nation to take this advise. I will also add that Islam and Christianity should be banned in Hausa land in favour of their traditional theology of Maiguzuwa.

Okay, please do. Being a non-linguist, I feel super-awkward (even arrogant and stupid) having to disagree with some of these guys' conclusions on proto-Igbo words.

Roger Blench, for instance, argued that proto-Igbo for leopard was agui. His argument was that since leopard in Ogba was agi, and agu in many of the remaining lects, the proto-Igbo word must have contained both i and u at the end - hence, agui. Now, I don't understand his argument for why both sounds must have been present in proto-Igbo, instead of one sound replacing the other in some of the lects at some point during the evolution of the Igbo 'language'.

(Personally, I had thought that proto-igbo for leopard would be a word like egu or possibly eku.)

Now, coming to alia, I immediately sense that Ohiri-Aniche must have used a similar argument to support that reconstruction. That is, the i in ali/ani and the a in ala/ana suggested to her that both the i sound and the a sound must have been present at the end of the proto-Igbo - hence alia.

I like that she has an alternative reconstruction that takes into consideration non-Igbo cognates. Personally, I have always felt that these non-Igbo relatives (Edoid and Yoruba languages, most importantly; but also Idoma and Nupe) and Ekpeye must be taken into consideration by scholars attempting to reconstruct proto-Igbo words. Taking these relatives (and Ekpeye) into consideration, I had long thought proto-Igbo for 'earth' would sound close to ale.

This is just me voicing out my thoughts. They are the professionals in this; I'm not.

That is possible because ale is the word for land in SE Yoruba dialects.

Why is immigration an issue? It should not be an issue at all because in the past, it was not an issue but land and territory control were issues. In the past, immigration was encouraged. For instance in the 19th century when Offa was deserted and the Olofa was staying in Osogbo, the people of Ilorin were sending emissaries to urge him to return home with his people because Offa is adjacent to Ilorin and if the people are there, life would be fun and more interesting. We, the Yoruba carry a Neanderthal component in our DNA which must have been gotten from the Egyptians from whom we got the Kemitic Egyptian language we now speak. Those Egyptians got the genes from proto Celts, Greeks and Germans who lived in Kemitic Egypt with them thousands of years ago before a huge population of them relocated to West Africa some thousands of years ago. The Tuareg and Mandinke are genetically closely related to the Yoruba or Ife people with whom they share no land border. The Yoruba have never been nomads, so the link points to a time when the Tuareg were sedentary and when the Mandinke and the Ife people were one. The Ijaw speak a language similar to Dogon in structure which in turn is similar to the Basque language in Europe pointing to a common past. All three languages are isolates in their areas. So, in the past, migration used to be rife but with all groups holding on to their territories while seeking to add more if their neighbours are not up to the task of nation building. Adding territory to your existing territory is the only thing that can no longer be acceptable in the modern world but the competition for people can restart if the United Nation member nations agree to put measures in place to ignite it.



Let us look at a scenario where the United Nations join hands together for an integrated electrical power project for the globe which will reduce the cost of electrical power by 80 percent the month it becomes operational all over the globe and continue driving the cost South thereafter. I have already described in past notes how this can be done with solar PV arrays, microwave plants and power broadcast stations using the DARPA built 16 bit phased array antennae system to broadcast power. People will give up some lands here and there for the PV arrays all over the globe and within some years a 60,000 GW PV capacity for the globe can be reached which will solve the power problem globally.


With power for homes, industries and even automobiles thus provided by a UN global joint venture, there will be more or less nothing left to struggle over and immigration can be easily solved.




SOLVING IMMIGRATION.



A simple United Nations treaty agreed to by all can solve immigration problems once and for all. All UN member nations can agree that all national governments on Earth must restrict their income to income tax especially, then corporate tax, land use tax and other sundry taxes. The use of money from natural resources as government revenue should be banned globally. If a nation has oil money income, that Earth nation should be bound by a United Nations treaty to share the money out to the citizens bank accounts. Income tax may be put at a minimum of 30 percent of personal income in all nations with a global ban on the informal economy.


Such a move will change the world, as the only source of government revenue will be workers, small businesses and corporations and a struggle by nations to attract workers to their cultural or national sphere will commence at once across the globe. With electrical power for factories, homes and industries at mediocre costs, all nations including the China and India said to be overpopulated will do all in their power to keep their people, even swell their population by attracting tax paying workers from other places. It must be noted that China and India produce more than enough food, more than enough clothes even now. Their not being industrialized is because of no other thing than because they are not exerting themselves enough like Japan. Japan has much less natural resources percapita than either China or India. Japan has too import coal from Australia, yet Japan sits on top of the industrialization index.


So, with such a move and with God's help, immigration will immediately seize being an issue across the globe.

The US should not be slit down the middle between Republicans and Democrats. That is wrong. In the Washington Post article referenced below that is authoured by Governor Jeb Bush, he said in the November Presidential elections of the USA, he would either vote the Libertarian candidate or write in a candidate which may mean himself, Mr Kasich and etc. He wrote about strong families being the most viable anti poverty measure, a family headed by two parents, living in a strong community, I will add 'where the community helps to raise the children'. He opined that the USA must be more assertive and must maintain leadership on the globe, the USA must take on, headlong, the threat of Islamic terror, I will add, Christian bellicosity and war mongering as well.


As a Republican deeply meshed in the politics of the USA, he did not have nice words for President Obama and Mrs Clinton who are Democrats. For as long as the divide lasts in the US, I am also a Republican, for obvious reasons.


Governor Jeb Bush wrote about term limits and putting white house power under check, I will add that the power in the white house has always been under check since the USA was inaugurated in the 18th century but term limit is ridiculous. It is part of the problem. The focus should be on making state administration just another job, the job of state Chief Execcutive Officer should be just another job, another job from which the employee can be fired without much ceremony. That can only be possible in an Ogboni system where thousands of people are legally privy to everything the government and individuals in government does in a place like the USA and those watchers will be a supreme court over the government. The Ogboni council will be the only party and the government CEO will be a direct employee of the Ogboni whose prime member is the Oluwo who can not speak in public on government issues. There will be Ogboni councils for every tier of government and Ogboni councils are not remunerated. However, the council carries the residual blame if things go wrong. The government CEO will nominally carry the blame as CEO. It must be noted that the United Kingdom has no term limit for the Prime Minister but they have elections.


Opposition Party politics is dirty and it is not beneficial. It is not necessary for nation building in anyway. Nations that have beaten the US to realise this includes North Korea, China, Singapore and etc, even Russia to a large extent. The USA ought to adjust. Party politics is not needed to debate policies. If you have a sound idea as a concerned citizen, then start to articulate that idea on twitter, facebook and etc, even if you have no other resources or platform to use. The world is now a global village!. If you are making sense, it will eventually carry the day and of course you might be called upon to implement it by the Ogboni council. That should be the way forward, even across the globe, not only in the USA.


There should be only one party in any nation. The party for development, conservation, prosperity and progress. Politics is not needed for nation building. Nation building needs only statesmanship and not politics. A statesman is totally different from a politician who is generally a two faced individual in most climes. Ancient people in ancient empires and states had no politicians but states men. No need for politicians. Julius Caesar and etc were no politicians. Stalin, Hitler, Lee Kuan Yew, George Washington were also no politicians. Those were serious minded, business minded statesmen who succeeded or failed according to their character. With an efficient Ogboni system, somebody with a deficient character would not be in place for six months, even today, such a person as US President would not last six months.

Actually, I didn't know what was in my mind when I made that post.

On Igbos having more issues than yoruba, that is very wrong.... And that's part of the problem with Nigeria ... It is only when someone succeeds that he is a Nigerian. .. Or when they want to share money. Every other time, you're yoruba, hausa or igbo.

On Igbos not voting for yoruba, it's really not their fault cos Nigeria ' s system is based on North -South divide... It does not take into recognition that there are two major tribes down south... And the northern politicians ruthlessly exploit this shortcoming to divide southern votes.

If you have a Yoruba presidential candidate and igbo vice candidate, igbo will vote for the party.... But when the candidate is Yoruba moslem and Vice also Northern Moslem, ... Give me a good reason why any sensible igbo man should vote for that party.

On the other hand, if a Northern politician picks an igbo vice, ... Igbos will not be compelled to vote for the Party with Yoruba-Hausa candidates ... Especially when both are Moslems. ...

Awo and zik cannot run together because the Nigerian system complells they must pick vice and other important candidates from the north .... So it is not as if igbo does not want to vote yoruba... Its Just that anything that has too much hausa and Muslim inside it, count most igbo out of it.

On the civil war... I personally detest the way ojukwu ran it.... He was confused about whether he wanted biafra or southern Nigeria. If he wanted Biafra alone, he should have respected his boundary or pushed his army up instead of west.

Ojukwu ' s thought at the time must have been that he could win by quickly taking over Lagos which was the capital at the time so he wouldn't have to spend more on defending his flanks..... And that was beyond the mandate given to him by the Eastern House of Assembly which is stritcly limited to Biafra.... Instead of Negotiating with people and carrying them along, he forced his personal opinion on them... No world super power suport...He deserved what he got.

The assumption of the average igbo man is that it would be far easier to develop the south as opposed to attempting to develop the whole Nigeria at the same time... They think the North is the problem with Nigeria .... Just look at how Buhari has scattered everywhere ...

Though igbo want southern Nigeria free of the north, .. half of the yoruba are divided over whether they want one Nigeria or if they want restructuring. ... Not their fault though since the Moslem yorubas often oppose and flow along with the north... This kind of "hesitatation", or indecisiveness is what igbo ppl dislike about yoruba

Moving troops into friendly regions without clearance can not be excused and no self respecting people would take such.
