anonimi:If no Obi and it was between Tinubu and Atiku. The dynamics would change. Igbos might vote for Atiku but not Yoruba Christians, southern Christians and Northern Christians and Tinubu would still pull weight among Northern Muslims. It is not a simple addition of opposition votes or do you think all Obi voters would have lined up behind Atiku? Not possible |
gidgiddy:Lagos was only capital of Nigeria from 1960 to the 1990s. Whatever happened in Lagos before 1960 was because of Lagos and not because of Nigeria or are you among the policy makers or among the Awos that cast IFA for the city? Lagos was capital for thirty years. Presently now who is owing each other between FG and Lagos? Remember that they make money in Lagos ports without paying Lagos at all when we all know some countries depend on port revenue just like some depend on oil. The FG is owing Lagos Then all states have their strong points and Anambra is miles behind Oyo in VAT payment which means VAT related economic activities in Oyo is much greater than in Anambra. That is a metric too and not only storey buildings. Agric is more developed in Oyo than Anambra. Oyo is more populated than Anambra and etc. Apart from storey building what metrics brought you to the conclusion that in fifty years a state with high IGR can not measure up to Anambra. On a per Capita basis, Osun has more hotels and SMEs than Anambra. Osun has more absolute number of SMEs and more hotels per capita. The information is online. Only that Anambra's urbanisation is more concentrated. No city in Osun has as many banks as Onitsha or Awka but Osun has more urban centers in total |
potland:Religion was created by over zealous human beings. It is the opposite of science. When you have books that can't be peer reviewed and beliefs that must not be questioned as well as super human people then you have religion. Other things are science. All traditional spiritualities that don't claim the monopoly of truth is science. They listen to themselves and learn from each other and they don't describe God as a mad man who is burning people in hell for unbelief. There is no true religion and the only thing acceptable is science |
simpleseyi:There is a compound allocated for Fulani in Ilorin and another allocated for a combination of Hausa, Nupe etc. I don't think the two compounds make up to ten percent of indigenes then this arrangement exists in all Yoruba cities. It exists even in Kano where some indigenes have Yoruba ancestry but are Hausa. The Emir of Ilorin is from the compound allocated to Hausa and etc and not from the Fulani compound |
WizardOfNG:Of course not. The whole population of Ekiti is not up to the population of Ibadan. I doubt if there was anytime Ekiti had more PhDs than Oyo state |
Kobojunkie:Yes you can use nuclear energy for war or prosperity. All know how is like that. Your character is what is important. You can use spiritual energy for anything conceivable both good and bad. However religion (Christianity and Islam) spread harmful beliefs and conclusions about God which makes people fight and kill each other over God. This is a new thing that we have never seen before on Earth and it needs to stop. Do you know any other group describing God as a mad man burning people in hell for unbelief apart from Christians and Muslims? |
Atheism just like religion is alien to human culture. No recorded atheism movement before the advent of Christianity. Atheism is a response to religion. None of our ancestors were atheists because there was no religion. Prof Soyinka is now saying he accepts the traditional way but he is an atheist!. That is a contradiction. No ancient Yoruba person was an atheist. Why will you be an atheist when there is sufficient proof of the spirit world? Atheism is only a response to people describing God as a mad man who is burning people in hell for unbelief. No right thinking person will accept that definition of God and that gave rise to atheism for those who had nothing to fall back on |
erniok:Abraham saw nothing wrong in human rituals |
If you buy the primaries can you buy the general elections? If it is money required to win the primaries then let every candidate go and find money but it is not really money at such a level. The only Presidential primary that was won by the richest person was SDP's primary where MKO won and we all know it was not only money that worked for MKO. Ethnicity, influence and religion also worked for him. If Gani Fawehinmi had joined the PDP, he could have won the primaries |
erniok:It would be fair to believe such a person is a thief pending evidence to the contrary |
MEGAWATCH:Your children are incarnates of your ancestors and they come mainly from the paternal line. Maternal line only possible via concessions in heaven. You can also as an individual go under any line by adopting them. If you keep saying someone is your ancestor then that person can incarnate in your kids if he or she sees you as worthy. That is how it works according to my research using Ifa. A white man whose great grandfather is Yoruba can have all past incarnation as Yoruba and vice versa. We are spirits wearing DNA as body. We are not DNA. |
erniok:A thief does not see anything wrong with stealing just like a human ritualist does not see anything wrong with killing human beings for rituals or for God |
The Odus of Ifa that birthed Ijesa and Ibadan Since the 256 signs of Orunmila became popular in Yoruba land thousands of years ago, most people will not take any major step in life without seeking guidance and clarification from Awos of Orunmila. Be it marriage, start of a business, journey, establishment of a city and etc. I once read a British writer say the common way of rejecting a marriage proposal in Yoruba land was by saying the Ifa reading was not satisfactory or not good enough. When a city is to be founded, the stakeholders will pick a date to determine the ODU that birthed the city which will determine the destiny of the city or the trajectory of it's life. They will give enough time for the irunmales in heaven to prepare. When the ODU is determined for the city, the stakeholders will then provide all the ritual items needed for the ebo. The ODU that birthed Ibadan It was Ose meji that birthed Ibadan which is why the ODU is also called Ose Olubadan. OSE meji means victory in all it's ramifications. A city birthed by Ose meji will always have its way. It will not align with a side destined to lose during a war nor will it start a war it can not win. The people will prosper. It is not destined to be a village. It will be a big city. This played out in the history of Ibadan. Ibadan was a village established by people led by Lagelu from Ife originally. Ose meji birthed it, so how would a village become a city?. Oyo Ile was disbanded as a result of war and the refugees turned Ibadan into a city and it became the defacto capital of the Oyo empire within decades. Ibadan was never at variance with the British as were the Ijebu. They opened up their city for trade and aligned with the British to force open the Ijebu country. They remained aligned with Britain until the British came to end the civil war at Igbajo after invitation. The British never at any time had the plan to take Ibadan by force because Ibadan was birthed by Ose meji. Ose Olubadan says Idandan ni atupa ile A difa fun won lode ilu nla Nibi won ngbe bi olu lomo Ebo ni won ni ki won se. Won gbebo won rubo Ero Po Ero Offa! E wa gbe omo olu gesin gogo! Translation Idandan is the lamp of the Earth This was the ifa cast for them at the big city Where illustrious sons are birthed They were advised to sacrifice They listened and complied Onlooking people of Po and Offa! Up up the prince on the royal stallion! The Odu that birthed Ijesa It was Iwori Irosun that birthed Ijesa and this is why the odu is also called Iwori Ijesa or Iwori Warawara. It implies big vision, big plans, big projections, plans because of the advantages you have and etc. Many plans at the same time and etc. Somebody planning to send his kids to elite schools is Iwori Ijesa and etc. Somebody having a plan to be a doctor, lawyer, architect and nuclear physicist all at the same time is under this odu. Iwori Ijesa says Esikanri Moba Iwo! Oro ni mo gbe Ijesa! Okansoso isooro Ohun ni ki je ki aye oloro o baje Ohun loro bi O so Loro Gbogbo e gbogbo e loro Loro A difa fun Aluko do do do Ti nse omo olododo ikefun Won ni korubo O gbebo o rubo Nje bi NBA seyi tan NGO tun se imin si Omo isooro kan kii ku soro Translation Esikanrin Moba Iwo I align with doing rites Ijesa One particular rite that was done Is why the life of the rites master goes on smoothly He was born by rites Also named with rites Everything about him is rites, rites and rites This was the IFA cast for Aluko do do do Who was the son of the righteous man of Ikefun He was advised to sacrifice He listened and complied See! When I finish doing this particular rite, I will start another one! A rites master will never be the victim of the rite! I don't really know the meaning of Esikanrin Moba though I think it is comparing an attribute of the traditional state of Iwo to the Ijesa who are known to be fond of doing Oro or rites. Doing Oro requires a lot of planning and that is why it is Iwori Irosun. Iwo was birthed by Obara Otura and that Esikanri moba will have something to do with it. Oyo was Ogbe Otura. Ilorin was Okanran Irete, Ede was Osa Irete, Osogbo was Idi Irete, Lagos Island was Ogunda Irete but IFA told me it was actually Ose Irosun that birthed Lagos island as it was the ODU that was gotten in Benin before they set out while Ogunda Irete was gotten when they arrived on Lagos island |
oroje1:Yet if someone is caught today trying to sacrifice his own kid, you will be quick to accuse the person of being responsible for some missing people. Double standard. There were no religions in the past. Religion is the opposite of science. If something can be peer reviewed then it is not religion. If something respects other people's culture, it is not religion. Spirit science is not religion and that is what was passed down to every human group by their ancestors and not religion. |
The SE receives three times more allocation than the SW per capita and if Lagos were added to the SW the difference will be much greater. Therefore there is no reason the SE governors should not perform better than the SW. Their HDI will be higher and etc |
erniok:Somebody who was told by a voice in his head to sacrifice his own son must have sacrificed other people's sons to even believe that voice in his head or how do you define a human ritualist? Infanticide was common in that part in those days |
ariesbull:Only Lagos and Ogun are doing substantial IGR in the west. |
They have more revenue so they should. The SE receives three times more allocation per Capita than the SW |
DoTheNeedful:Tinubu will rather break up the country than lose the election and hand over to another person. Jonathan could not break up the country was why he capitulated. The US refused to sell him weapons |
MEGAWATCH:There are Yoruba leaders with Igbo mothers and if there are none there is no need for you to complain since you can't find Yoruba complaining that there are no Igbo leaders with Yoruba mothers. That is the issue. Why will anybody reject you in your father's compound? You mean if the person is extremely good and serving the community, the father's compound will reject him? That isn't possible. |
oroje1:Was Abraham a demon worshipper too? He was a human ritualist |
MEGAWATCH:There are many politicians with Igbo mothers in Yoruba land but if there are none, leave them. It is not your business or how is it your business? Nobody can stop anybody in Yoruba land from anything because their mother is Igbo and etc but even if they are doing that it is wrong for any Igbo person to be complaining because you will be making things more difficult for them. They are Yoruba and not Igbo and if there is a war between Yoruba and Igbo they will fight for Yoruba. Your mother is Igbo, Hausa or Chinese does not affect your chances here in Yoruba land if you love the land, work for the land and are responsible |
MEGAWATCH:We have leaders here in the west whose mothers are Igbo. How many leaders exist in the east whose mothers are Yoruba? You have full right in your father's compound in Yoruba land no matter the origin of your mother. Your narrative is not the reality |
akpumping7720:Has any woman ever represented any state in Nigeria on the basis of being married to a man from that state? |
oroje1:They are demon worshippers but we had nobody killing over God, raping and etc until the God worshippers arrived around 2000 years ago |
I have already shown that Ogun and Lagos that have high IGR also have the highest HDI. Then the next question is why is a state like say Imo having a higher HDI than say Oyo? In my opinion it boils down to FAAC allocations which is also revenue. NIN shows Oyo is more than double Imo in population but is the allocation double? Answer is No and that will tell on the HDI since both states don't do enough IGR. |
Morizo:Ok. Some things can be up for debate but the language of old Benin city is not. It was a Yoruba dialect just like Itsekiri or Ijesa. Benin city had a population of around 50k people and Yoruba used to be the lingua franca. Somehow the city lost its population probably due to emigration and new people entered the city. More or less the same thing almost happened to Warri. |
Ofodirinwa:You ask why Lesotho is taking tax? Isn't it obvious it is to develop their country? Then most African countries are just starting and the effect will not be felt instantly. However it is a free world and nobody can force policy on any country and if you succeed at something as a country then others will learn from you. You can contest elections, win and try to be the first developed country with high HDI and negligible taxation. Just remember that the average tax to GDP ratio for the OECD is over 33 percent |
Don't be deceived. There is no other way for any nation to get ahead other than via cooperation through taxation |
Ofodirinwa:To know your data is wrong. See Germany
|
Ofodirinwa:All those countries in Africa with high tax to GDP ratio definitely have a higher HDI than any west African country and I don't need to check. It is somehow pedestrian to think a nation spending half it's GDP on its infrastructure, economy and human capital will not be better off than another spending ten percent or less. No free lunch in Free town! There is no developed country where tax to GDP is less than thirty percent. Don't calculate only federal revenue. The only developed country like that is the USA that has no universal healthcare. And this is China for 2024 and China isn't really considered as developed
