They are not the largest stateless group. There are many others who don't have exclusive control over their destinies. For example, Yoruba. How is the condition of the Yoruba different from the Kurds?. Or the Hausa and the Igbo?. And many others across the world? I hope they get a sovereign state but if they don't, they should at least be able to control their destiny in any country they find themselves. They should be able to police themselves, use their language and etc. |
MaxInDHouse:If someone said today 'I and the father are one' as Jesus was recorded to have said in John 10:30 would you consider that blasphemous or not?. Let us face it, Jesus was an apostate. The Jews were right to have apostasy laws but it should not have been capital punishment. However Jesus was not the first or last to be executed for apostasy. |
Were the Jews right to execute Jesus Christ?. First of all, some people insist it was not the Jews that killed Jesus but the Romans but I do not support this view because Jesus was not a threat to Rome in any way. He did not oppose Roman authority and when according to a Bible account he was prodded by the Jews on Rome, he advised everybody to pay tax to Emperor Caesar. He was not a viable messiah and only viable messiahs with large followings were engaged by Rome. A Jewish messiah is someone that will free their country from Rome as at then and make them sovereign again. Many people that assumed that role were killed by Rome and when their followers still insisted they rose from the dead, a particular one was left in a gulley to rot so that everybody can see he did not rise up again. Back to the Jews and Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus Christ was killed either directly or indirectly by Jewish theocrats for being an apostate. He broke blasphemy laws. Going by what is happening in today’s world where people are allowed to make all kinds of theological claims and brainwash people causing death and misery all over the world, I believe there should be apostasy laws. People should not be free to publicly make any claim about God that they deem fit. They should especially not be able to make claims putting themselves on super human pedestals. There is nothing any human being is that other human beings can not become and if we don't respect that fact we will have issues in our society. In that light I support the Jews that had apostasy laws to prosecute Jesus Christ with in the first century. Though that was not his name but a Greek alias. What I don't support is the severity of the sentence. Jesus Christ was prosecuted by the Jews specifically because he publicly claimed to be greater than David, Moses and etc and went further to say he was equal with God. All in public. He claimed to be a leader (more or less King) of the Jews and the Romans were involved because of that. He however never led any insurrection against Rome and did say that his own Kingdom is in the minds of men. The Romans did not see any reason to convict him and they handed him over to the Jews according to the Bible. In conclusion, were the Jews right to prosecute Jesus Christ?. Yes but the sentence was too severe. However in the past and even in modern times, sentencing for apostasy are always that severe. Since Jesus, many people have been executed for apostasy. |
[quote author=Slytiger post=136280451]It's possible. They bear Yoruba names to due to the influence of Oranmiyan. Infact, if you travel to Usen. Their kings retained more of the Yoruba culture. The founder of Usen was one of those that followed Oranmiyan to Benin but stayed back to create his own kingdom. Check how the Elawure of Usen is being praised here in pure undiluted Yoruba. Usen is in present day Edo State. but the similarities between their language and Yoruba is not because of Oranmiyan. Its because of shared ancestry thousands of years ago |
MrIcredible:Gambia must be getting expensive to live in. 800k for house officers is high. In the average Nigerian city that will be too high for a fresh graduate. |
Slytiger:I was surprised when one Benin guy told me Edokpolor means Edo are very plenty. He could have been speaking Yoruba. Another said Okada means Oke Ada upside of the Ada river. It is also the same way in Yoruba |
gidgiddy:How can you take away Lagos which contains the highest population of Yoruba?. However SW minus Lagos still has a big economy bigger than most. Then after Lagos in.this country it is Oyo state economically. Check everything like VAT, number of hotels and etc. |
DNA and linguistics say Yoruba and Igbo share some common ancestors. The languages share many common words like for body parts and etc. One set of ancestors decided not to have kings and be living in villages of maximum 2000 people while the other were living in urban centers that required kings. Both groups mixed with new people and became more distinct from each other. They cut links totally with each other for thousands of years and now have cultures that are radically different. The British have now brought them into the same country. They share a common Y chromosome and the concentration of the Y chromosome is highest among the Yoruba. This means the Igbo are more a creole people than the Yoruba. They are more a mixture. The name Igbo in my opinion means everybody. We have Ndi Owerri, Ndi Onitsha, Ndi Enugu and etc. When all come together they call themselves Ndigbo which means everybody. Ndi Onitsha for instance means people of Onitsha. The word Igbo or Gbo is a remnant of the ancient language spoken by the common ancestors of both groups. In modern Yoruba it is rendered as gbogbo or gbo. It means all, similar to everybody. The Igbo in Yoruba place names means forest and it is pronounced with a different intonation. Both groups are like brothers and brothers can have completely different characters. Presently the debate about king or no king have been lost by Igbos since they now live in urban centers that needs sophisticated administrations. The British ended their system and things fell apart for them |
I was the best actor and newscaster in primary school but suddenly started stammering in high school. I have more or less outgrown it now. Moses was a stammerer, MKO Abiola was a stammerer |
Lionessza6:And that is good and it is what every nation should be doing. Nigeria is still a shame but I don't accept that any South African group can match up yet with the Yoruba for instance. You know population is also a factor. Then Yoruba have been building themselves for years when South African ethnic groups were restricted due to apartheid and the gap is not yet closed because post apartheid children are still young. Whether home or abroad when you add everything together the Yoruba is still ahead. Professionals, business, scientists. However any South African group competing against the Yoruba will just be like Norway competing against the USA in the long run because of the size discrepancy. They can be more successful in some areas but the Yoruba will win with size |
Lionessza6:The Yoruba and Igbo are doing by far better all over the world than South African groups, however they are also larger in population. South African ethnic groups are almost none existent in North America, Europe and etc. It is like comparing South Africans to the Lebanese or Jews. I mean south African blacks though not the Boer. |
Lioness5280:Well if they are catching up, it will be a post apartheid occurrence. |
Lioness5280:However the Yoruba and the Igbo are more successful and better educated than South African groups. The only problem is they tend to run away from their country rather than get down and build it. There is unhealthy competition in Nigeria is the problem. The country is better off split |
Lioness5280:Not all Nigerians. The Hausa are not like that. They mostly stay put in the country. However they are not as educated as the Yoruba and the Igbo. |
linearity:They are not really borrowing money from the federal reserve in my opinion since it is a US organ. It will count as intra government debt or so. As far as I am concerned, the central bank is a revenue source and should be treated as such and how much to inflate the currency should be determined by the national assembly. I don't really support mining metals to keep in bank safes in the name of sound money though it has its advantages. Fiat money is okay if managed properly. Fiat money has not failed yet and I don't really think it will fail. AI says the cost of managing the debt is 921 billion dollars per annum as at June 2025. It depends on prevailing interest rates. Then all countries are doing the same thing and it is only inflation rate meaning level of new currency printing that differs. TB in Nigeria is 19 percent per annum |
linearity:The US prints the dollar but the amount printed is low compared to the volume in circulation hence the US dollar has one of the lowest inflation of any currency. There is more dollar outside the US than in the US. The only problem in all of this is that the US has to pay interests on all these debts and even the interest is suffocating. The interest is suffocating is the problem. It costs the US 921 billion dollar per annum |
When you are building a business the most important part is human resources but the apprenticeship system don't let you retain good people. Business ownership should not be by force. You can rise to top management and become a billionaire in a company starting as an employee without owning your own business. Even if you are doing apprenticeship for those who want it, your real people should be salaried workers, well paid and dedicated to the business. That is the only way to build a big business. If you have a trustworthy and hardworking Nwa boy, your business will grow because of him, once he leaves maybe the next one will be a thief |
They have a very ambitious government but are the bandits going to allow them to work?. However bandits should not be able to beat an organized government with authority especially if they have armed security organization |
CoronaVirusPro:You are mostly right. The USA must stop policing the world on their own bill. Peace must be contributed to by every nation. The problem of the high income world (I will not say rich world) is high cost of living occasioned by over valued real estate. A real estate that is valued 30,000 dollars in a second tier Nigerian city is 500,000 dollars in the high income world. The high cost of rent has driven wages up and jobs overseas. The problem has to be addressed at some point. As for public debts I think everything should be added together and acquired by the UN which should be funded by member nations. GDPs too have to be re based because if you check actual consumption outside rent and services, the US can't be even half of China's GDP. Many things have to change |
CoronaVirusPro:The edge the US has is innovation. US leading companies are innovative companies Then the fact that it is somehow more open to everybody than any other country |
The right status quo for the world The right status quo for the world is one whereby each government is struggling for people to come, work and pay tax in their country. However it can only be achieved when the whole world is similarly organized. Not when some nations have all their income earners paying income tax and others don't. Not when life expectancy is high in one country and very low in another. It can happen but it requires uniformity in organization. |
CoronaVirusPro:How many Tesla, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook etc has Japan produced?. Japan is not even a popular immigrant worker destination unlike the USA where you can go from Africa to become the wealthiest person in the country. Japan is well organized and doing well but nobody will pick them above the USA |
Why don't we get to see foreigners must go protests in Europe?. Because they have a welfare system that takes from everybody to give the indigenes first!. And the indigenes understand that. If you still have this kind of protest in your country then you don't have a good country yet!. |
New Odus of IFA July 27 2025 Otura Osa Do not go all out to extinguish your adversaries. This was the IFA cast for the person preaching against religion and its ills while shying away from supporting its total ban. Story Many people are aware of the ills caused by religion and they actually make pronouncements against religion but have not gotten around to calling for the decorporation of religion. Iwori Oyeku The whole of the USA is my constituency and support base This was the IFA cast for Akin Lawanson who could not support any Presidential elections because all USA resources, parties and all are helping him and he is indebted to them. Story. Having found out that the USA is using all their resources to aid what I do online, I refrain from taking sides in their politics especially Presidential. Otura Oyeku The things you do must be fair to others and not only to you. This was the IFA cast for the person who will never be found doing wrong. Story. Contrary to the opinion of many that nobody is perfect, there are many people who can successfully defend anything they are caught doing even without them needing to apologize to anybody and there are also some who can set themselves right by a simple apology that is very easy. Oyeku Ika Agbatan laa gba ole, bi a ba daso fun ole a ba palaro. A helpless fellow have to be saved completely. If you are buying clothes for a helpless person who can not do anything for himself or herself you also have to dye it. Obara Ogunda Your spirit is not your secretary to receive directives. This was the IFA cast for the diviner who will always pray profusely before seeking clarity. Story. When we go into verbal gymnastics before getting IFA readings, it is to beg the spirit not to lead us astray Irosun Otura You have to fight for your lineage. It is only by fighting for your lineage that you grow. This was the IFA cast for Akin Lawanson who became the darling of a US led alliance because he took it upon himself to force change Nigeria for good by online writing. Story. You have to love yourself, your lineage, your community and the world in that order to be a viable person and it is only by fighting for your constituency that you grow. Irosun Owonrin Solving a scarcity is the path to wealth. This was the IFA cast for Aliko Dangote who doubled his net worth by building a refinery to solve Nigeria’s fuel scarcity problem. Story. You have to solve a big problem to get ahead in a big way and there are many problems lying around to be solved. Irete Otura A lost dog will always find its way home. This was the IFA cast for the spirit of Orunmila the founder of IFA whom whatever family type he is incarnated into, will always find his way to become a Babalawo. Otura Osa The vagrant puts up for sale his only inheritance. This was the IFA cast for Ibrahim Babangida who conducted a long awaited election and also annulled it. Story. IBB, former military President of Nigeria conducted an election believed to be freest and fairest in the history of Nigeria and it was won by MKO Abiola and he squandered all the accruable goodwill by annulling the election instead of handing over to the winner. Ika Otura Knowledge about God is universal This was the IFA cast for the people that existed before religion who would refrain from preaching to foreigners about God because they knew they have God in their culture too. Story In the olden days people did not preach about God because it would be like forcing strangers to learn your language which should not be so |
Only Christianity and Islam think they are the only way. Even Judaism their progenitor do not. It is Christianity and Islam that are not compatible with civilization |
Easyincome24:As a matter of fact, I once consulted IFA on the matter and IFA said no matter who impregnated the woman, it is the ancestors of her husband that will incarnate in the children unless there is animosity between husband and wife |
High minimum wage is why we have people migrating to other countries to seek employment. You have to take care of your lowest earners first |
anonimi:There has been an Ogbomosho governor of Oyo in Alao Akala and the suspended governor of Rivers is not Ikwerre. |
Safyqueen:You are not correct. There is no way power will remain in the North in a democracy. MKO won without zoning and Awolowo won Kano. Left without zoning even North may have issues. Kano can vote anybody. They can vote Obi if they think he is serious. They are the most progressive in the country. Your analysis is not correct |
Dtruthspeaker:You are actually supporting my position with your logic. If you agree you can greet other people apart from your parents though less then why do you think worshipping lesser deities a little is wrong?. You are countering your own argument. |
Do people really want a constitution that says an Hausa man born in Enugu can take the minister slot for Enugu and etc?. I don't think so but people can and have been integrating themselves. It does not need to be ingrained in the constitution in my opinion. On the issue of states, any group that wants a state should be given a state but what is making it hard is that states are equally represented in the senate. As it is now the SW and the NW are underrepresented in the government if their population is compared with other zones. |
Putinofrussia:Why should harmless culture be stopped?. Christianity and Islam also have what can be called idolatry. Bowing down to the statue of saints is what?. Killing people over the desecration of the Quran is what. They term our culture as idolatry but there is nothing wrong in idolatry itself. Only evil is wrong. God can not say don't worship other Gods just like I can't tell my kids don't greet other people. It is not right to extinguish a culture because of religion and a King sits atop the culture. |
