PropertiesRe: Need A Plot Of Land Before Fara Park! by lawyer(m): 1:34pm On Oct 13, 2009
@henroske
Honestly to be frank, its going to be quite difficult to get a plot of land for N1.8Million before Sangotedo especially one with a good Legal title. Except you are ready to deal with Omonile's and that i cannot Wish such a Transaction for my Enemy! Please dont skimp on Money and end up buying a defective Land. If you have N1.8Million, You can still save up and contact an Agent who will get you something within the Prevailing Ajah Market Price and with a good legal title!

Remember Penny Wise always results in Pound Foolish! Do the Math!

Cheers! smiley

This thread was opened in 2007 and we are in 2009 and this omonile issue is still waxing stronger than ever in Lagos and i think its about time we start educating ourselves to know how to deal with these people because the bitter truth is that they AINT GOING NO WHERE as long as you want to own a land in Lagos.

Let's share our experiences with them good or bad and learn how to handle them next time we come across them: smiley
Nairaland GeneralRe: What Makes A Good Moderator? by lawyer(m): 8:52pm On Oct 05, 2009
The Question shouldn't be what makes a good moderator, rather it should be what makes a good Forum Member!

Members are quick to blame moderators for everything wrong that happens to them even if their Wives or Girlfriends are not pregnant. The complain of incesant banning or deleting of posts continuously, but this begs the question:Why should a poster be banned?

You only get banned because you flout the rules and laws of the Forum and there is no exception. Even if a moderator breaks the rules or goes afoul of the laws of the site Administrator Seun, Moderators will be sanctioned too. So there is 'no conspiracy theory' or 'this moderator hates this and that person' or 'one moderator has been targetting one member' blah blah. Its just simple. Keep your arguments and discussions civil and once in a while if emotions flare up, try to water it down and let it not become a habit.

A lot of people on Nairaland confuse a disagreement with an Argument and lace it with torrential verbal abuses hereby confusing it with freedom of speech and right to freedom of association. When it gets to a stage that a moderator has to intervene and realise that that member ought to be removed for the greater good of the Forum, it will be a worthy sacrifice any day any time to restore sanity because lawlessness with restraint, is an invitation to chaos.

Moderators are also human beings and we do have our own flaws and managing over 300,000 members is not an easy thing especially when every second 24 hours of the day, someone somewhere is posting either something intelligent, mind stimulating, debative and educative and another lunatic on the other side of the planet is posting a catalogue and brochure of drivel, dross, bloviates and caterwauls to upset people and destroy the forum.

And its our jobs to always sieve the wheat from the chaff and keep everything sane and when we identify an erring member who has broken the rules and the appropriate sanction has been metted out, some loyal fan members of that person banned, will start an online rebellion blaming the moderators for being too biased or sentimental or judgemental without actually looking at the reason why that person was banned or his posts were deleted. Moderators are not daft and we dont act in vacuum to just pick out a person to ridicule or met sanctions against.

Follow the rules and we will all live happily ever after! smiley
PropertiesRe: I Need An Estate Agent In Nigeria by lawyer(m): 10:21pm On Oct 02, 2009
Why do i have a feeling this Post is Scam related? I know there are hundreds of Agents on Nairaland with their contact addresses and phone numbers for you to contact one on one if you have a Million Pounds to Invest!

And if you had One Million Pounds to Invest, i am sure you have family members or close family friends who will link you up with reputable lawyers and Real Estate Agents or Agencies and not to come on NL to Wind up Agents who might fall for this Scam?

Am sorry and i dont believe your post one bit! undecided

With much due respect Grandstar, Nairaland Properties does not and will not condone discriminatory posts. The Issue of the kind of tribe that a Landlord wants in his house should not be advertised on Nairaland Properties  and is deemed offensive. We are all Nigerians and we are all entitled to prove our worth!
