The Real Mowe and Ofada:

For almost a year plus, People have been calling and mailing me to ask about the status of the famed Mowe/ Ofada/ Ibafo that is being advertised everywhere for Prospective People to purchase in Ogun State.

There are a Million and one Gimmicks to hoodwink people to buy these Estates ranging from the Sublime to Mundane and sometimes outright Silly!

You see the perfect 3D designs of Houses and buildings in the papers and on T.v commercials and you are totally flocked with Testimonial words of how many plots are remaining and you should hurry to Subscribe now for less than N200,000 unless the plots to be allocated will soon finish and the prices will Jump up astronomically BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE RUSHING THAT ESTATE LIKE MAD ! But are the Agents really telling you the Truth? undecided

Today i decided to take a trip  for the third time to investigate once and for all the Mowe/ Ofada/ Ibafo axis on behalf of a Nairalander who contracted me to do a search to see how viable the place is. Trust me when I tell you that you must do a search before you buy a place, You consider it to be a Joke until the inevitable catches up with you.

The Word going around from Most of these Agents is that Mowe/ Ofada/ Ibafo Estates are so developed that people are rushing there in their droves to build houses and get plots but from the pictures below, you will see that its one huge thick forest filled with Bushes that i dont see anything considerably happening there within the next 3 to 5 years! undecided

There are over 300 estates with Huge banners advertising the same thing and making people believe that its Lekki Phase 1 or Maitama in the making Right now undecided but from the pictures below, you can tell that Badagry Has a better chance of developing tomorrow than those places! They spend Millions and Millions of Naira to advertise these proposed Houses but its easier to find a needle in a Haystack before you find a completed Proposed House there!

Anybody buying a land there should either buy those lands for LONG TERM INVESTMENT and not for immediate Movement. Apart from these 3 Estates that considerable development has occured i.e Golden Masters Estate, Yotomi Estate and Sherry View Estate, the rest are just Mere jungles over filled with bushes and trees.

I also went to the Ogun State Land Bureau in Abeokuta to perform a concrete search on some of those Estates and know whether they even have the right to market to sell them to the public and have the right certificates, you will be shocked to know that Most of them do not have a Certificate of Occupancy (C/O) from the Ogun State Government granting them the right to own those lands and sell to the public, which automatically means some of them are selling defective lands to unsuspecting people and you will have to cough out blood to procure your own C/O tomorrow from the Ogun State Government. I was even reliably told by a senior Official that The Ogun state Government, intends to swoop on that place soon to Verify and reclaim some of those Lands and Estate because they havent followed Due process in acquiring them for sale to People.

Luckily, for the the Nairalander who wanted to buy a Plot in Sherryview, SherryView Estate has applied for a C/O and it has been published:

A classic Search Report to be valid goes thus like this:

A Piece of Land Situates along Papalanto/ Sagamu Road Kori Oja Village, Via Owode, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area shown on survey Plan Number OG/1381/2008/10 OF 06/06/2008 with Survey BEACONS nos SC/OGY6780GR to SC/OGY6860GR all Inclusive. Having an Area 127.216 Hectares and granted by Family Chief Jimoh Biliaminu (Olori Ebi), Mr Alani Shittu ( Secretary) For Biliaminu Family OW/PL-

Applicants: City Planners property and Investment Limited
So next time somebody tries to hoodwink you to go all out to buy a Mowe/Ofada/Ibafo Land, Ask him about the status of the Estate and the Documents it has before you Part with your money and begin to chase them left right and centre asking them what happened to all the promises that was been fed to you!

So Enjoy Pictures of the Real Mowe/ Ofada and remember to always do a thorough search and Investigation before you buy a Land

Nairaland GeneralA-z Of Registering A Non Governmental Organization (n.g.o) In Nigeria by lawyer(op): 11:07pm On Aug 06, 2009
Frequently Asked Questions: A-Z Of REGISTERING A NON GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION (N.G.O) in NIGERIA

I have been running away from this question for the past one year since Nairalanders have been bugging me to state the process and requirements for registering an NGO. The basic reason is that its is very difficult to do and quite time consuming for the lawyer doing it and the clients really don’t appreciate the efforts and stress involved in registering one but recently i met a Nice Nairalander who encouraged me to not feel aggrieved by the acts of some but to continue assisting people so as to make Nigeria a more better place and much much closer to the desired information being craved by all.

So as usual in my usual simplistic and humour filled manner of explaining these things, i will attempt to explain the process of registering an NGO in Nigeria:

QUESTION: Lawyer what is a Non Government Organization (N.G.O) ?

ANSWER: Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are organisations that are not part of government and do not exist to make a profit from the work of the organisation for the owners or members of the organisation. They exist to serve some public purpose rather than just serving the personal interests of the owners or members of the organisation.

They exist for the benefit of the general public or specific sections of the public. If members receive payment or benefits, it is only in the form of a reasonable salary and benefits in return for the work that is done as an employee of the organisation. Any profit that is produced is used by the organisation to make a greater impact in terms of their public purpose.

Examples include:

Wide group of organisations, from large charitable NGOs like Red Cross, Better Life for Rural Women etc down to small community organisations like sports, clubs or civics e.g. Lagos Country Club, Yoruba Tennis Club, Chess Players Association of Nigeria, Abakaliki Progressive Union Foundation etc

The definition of Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) covers all organisations that do not exist to make profits for owners or members. It does not cover private companies or even co-operatives or income generating projects that exist solely to produce benefits for members.

Most Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have to rely on grants and donations from fundraising because Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) usually serve sections of the community that could not afford to pay the full cost of the service. NPOs do not usually choose their target groups according to who can pay for the service, but according to who needs the service most.

QUESTION: Okay, I understand what a NGO is and its aims and objectives but what are NGOs known as in Nigeria?

ANSWER: Under the Law more especially the Company Law in Nigeria, they are known as INCORPORATED TRUSTEES. These means that the Non-governmental organisation (NGO) formed is under the protection and guidance of a set of people called TRUSTEES and the Non-governmental organisation (NGO) assets and funds are placed squarely under the TRUST, confidence, reliance and dependence of the Trustees to carry out the aims and objectives of the Non-governmental organisation (NGO).

TRUSTEES are different from DIRECTORS OR SHAREHOLDERS in a company because unlike share holders in a company who will do anything to make sure their company derives a profit, Trustees are not entitled to make a profit from the Non-governmental organisation (NGOs) but rather to promote the welfare, aims and objectives of the Non-governmental organisation (NGO) freely.

QUESTION: Lawyer are you sure that these trustees are not entitled to make profit because somebody i spoke to said my Church next door named “I GO HAMMER INTERNATIONAL CHURCH” grin is registered as an Incorporated Trustee and they are making Mad Millions judging from the cars that park outside my house every Sunday. Are Churches also Incorporated Trustees and who can register Incorporated Trustees?

ANSWER: Very Funny Question! Yes ALL Churches and Mosques are Incorporated Trustees and the Pastors, Priests, Imams etc are the Trustees or part of the Trustees of the Churches or Mosques near you and they only survive due to the grants, tithes, benefits, welfare and donations pouring in every time. But it is a different thing all together when your talking about how the donations are being disbursed either to the welfare of the people or into private pockets to enrich the trustees themselves.

So that depends on the members of the Non-governmental organisation (NGO) to provide checks and balances on their Trustees.

I know so many people register Incorporated Trustees in Nigeria to open one Church or the other to make millions ;Dand some genuinely register these Churches to Help people and promote God’s words, so it depends to be honest which Incorporated Trustee Church is helping people and which one is using the donations and tithes to enrich their pastors. Thats not my own call here to judge people!

Also the kinds of people that can register Incorporated Trustees include the following:

a. Person Bound together by religion, custom, kinship or nationality

b. Association established for religious, educational, literary, scientific, social development, sporting or charitable purpose

c. Clubs, Cultural Associations, Foundations and Schools

Examples of Popular NGOs include:

Nigeria Youth AIDS Program
Nigeria Youth Working Group on Environment & Development
Nigerian Association of University Women
Nigerian Environment Study/Action Team
Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Lagos state chapter
Nigerian Integrated Rural Accelerated Development Organisation (NIRADO)
Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC)
Nigerian Medical Association (NMA)
Nigerian Youth Action Rangers
Nigerian Youth Environmental Network
NISER
Obi/Akpor Patriotic League
Odua Peoples Congress
Ogoni Youth
Oil watch Africa
Olabisi Onabanjo University
OMEP World Organisation for Early Childhood Education
Omni Medical
Operation Happy Home
Organisation (ACHDO)-Formerly Mother and Child
Organization for the Advancement of African Women (ORGAAW)
Organization for the Dev of Sports & Youth
Orthodox Welfare Association
Etc

QUESTION: Okay i think i am beginning to Understand what a Non-governmental organisation (NGO) or Incorporated Trustee is, but what are the advantages of Forming a Non-governmental organisation (NGO) or Incorporated Trustee legally or Illegally? wink

ANSWER: LWKMD (Laugh wan Kill me die) grin

Simple, do you mean apart from having Access to FREE Millions of NAIRA or DOLLARS pouring in through donations, aids, tithes, contributions, benefit, assistance, offerings, hand-outs etc that is 100% TAX FREE and almost Unaccounted for by the Members!!! LOL? grin

or

Do you mean apart from having access to all these Monies and you can be so unscrupulous to line up your pockets and introduce you to a better life aka the Nigerian Dream? LOL grin

Anyway apart from the above crooked and dodgy reasons Nigerians register NGOS, the advantage legally include:

a. It is a body Corporate i.e It has a right to sue and be sued

b. It has a Legal Personality i.e No one Man can claim it to be its own no matter the amount of Money a person donated. i.e despite the Billions invested by Bill Gates in the Bill gates Foundation, it doesn’t belong to him but he can be a major influencial Trustee amongst the board of Trustees

c. Perpetual Succession: It continues for life and even after the death of the major donors or board of Trustees, it continues with new Trustees taking over i.e if the Principal Pastor of Church dies, the Church continues and a new successor and new board of Trustees take over.

d. Power to Hold Land: This is a Major factor in being a Non-governmental organisation (NGO) or Incorporated Trustee. The CAC is very particular about Non-governmental organisation (NGO) or Incorporated Trustees Having the capacity to own lands or buy lands for its operations immediately unless it won’t be registered
e . Capacity to own a Common Seal:

QUESTION: Okay i am ready to Register A Non-governmental organisation (NGO) or Incorporated Trustee! What are the requirements to register one then in Nigeria?

ANSWER: Okay, at this junction, get your pens and paper and cram it down: Before you contact your lawyer, get all these things down first:

a. Select 2 names of the Association i.e Incorporated Trustee of I GO CHOP MONEY DIE FOUNDATION or Incorporated Trustees of Nairaland INITIATIVE! The CAC will choose one that is registerable or deny both of them in all its entirety. So choose Carefully.

It is very Important to select a Name that is unique and it must end with either the words Foundation, Trust, Organization, Association, Network, Initiative etc (Bottom line it must confirm with the practice that is common with Non-governmental organisation (NGOs)

b. Choose the aims and objectives of the proposed Incorporated Trustee normally minimum 3 i.e Sample :

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

A. To foster Unity, Peace and Love among its members, business men and general public

B. To create a condusive environment where members meet, interact and Discuss their problems, challenges and welfare.

C.To promote and encourage peaceful co existence and mutual benefits between members
c. Address of The Association

d. Names of the Trustees (They must be 2 or More)

e. 2 passport photographs for each of the Trustees

f. The personal residential addresses of each of the Trustees

g. Occupation of each of the Trustees

h. Tenure of each of the Trustees, the removal and filling of the vacancy of the Trustee

i Auditor

j. Membership

k. Common Seal (The seal must be made in Metal that can be inprinted on and must be physically inspected at the CAC

L. List the Executive Members of the association i.e –President, secretary, Financial secretary, auditors etc

QUESTION: Okay Lawyer, Now that i have gotten the Pre-Registration Requirements, what do i do next?

ANSWER
: The next thing includes the Registration Process Proper which includes the following:

1. Procuring, Conducting Name Search and Reserving your chosen NGO name (Normally takes 2 weeks or less)

2. Filling the Application forms after it has been purchased (Trust me, there are so many forms to fill and sign by all the trustees)

3. Advertisment of the name of the NGO and objects of the NGO in 2 National Dailies and One local Newspaper circulating in an Area of the chosen Registered Office where the Association is based

e.g Guardian Papers and Punch Newpapers (National Newspapers)
Ikeja Report or Abuja Chronicle (Local Newspaper)

clearing stating the name of the Association and Trustees and calling for Objections from the Public to the registration of the Association

d. Submission of the duly completed Typed Application form which should be accompanied by the following:

1. Availabity of name Search Report

2. A formal letter of Application to the CAC director General stating the reasons why you want to form the NGO and should be signed by either the Chairman, Secretary or the Applicatants Solicitor i.e yours truely wink

3. Copies and Proof of the Original Newspaper Publications

4. 2 Copies of the Applicants CONSTITUTION (This is the real wahala drafting a constitution). The Constitution must provide for the following:

a. AIMS

b. PROVISION FOR TRUSTEES IN THE GUIDELINES

c. CUSTODY OF THE COMMON SEAL

d. APPOINTMENT OF AUDITORS

e. PROVISIONS FOR MEETINGS

f. AMENDMENT CLAUSE

g. SPECIAL CLAUSE
5. Minutes of the Meeting where the Trustees were appointed having the list of Members Present and Absent and showing the voting pattern, signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Board.

The Minutes must be on the letter headed Paper of the Association

6.Minutes of the meeting where the SPECIAL CLAUSE rules was adopted into the constitution of the Association, signed by the Secretary and Chairman showing the list of Members in attendance.

7. All Trustees Must attach 2 Passport sized Photographs and one of the passport must be attached to a declaration Form sworn to at the High court by each trustee. This form replaces the State Government Security Clearance)

8. Attach the copy of the court registry payment for the Trustee Declaration form

9. Trustees should sign against their names on the application forms, state their permanent residential addresses and state their occupations

10. Pay all the filing fees at once

QUESTION: Finally how much does it cost to Register an N.G.O?

ANSWER: It Basically costs above N120,000 and above to register an NGO with all the fees included. Personally, if i am drafting the Constitution, i always add something extra to that fee because of the time and stress involved. It takes days, sometimes weeks to get a perfect constitution without query and it is the most cumbersome thing involved minus drafting the Minutes of the Association.

So the price is not static. It depends on the lawyer and because the CAC knows registering an NGO is the fastest way to create Millionaires in Nigeria either legally or illegally, they have to increase their filing fees to chop their own now because you wont remember them and the lawyer tomorrow when your NGO hammers! grin

LOL grin

Anyway apart from the above crooked and dodgy reasons Nigerians register NGOS, the advantage legally include:

a. It is a body Corporate i.e It has a right to sue and be sued

C.To promote and encourage peaceful co existence and mutual benefits between members
c. Address of The Association

j. Membership

It depends on the lawyer and because the CAC knows registering an NGO is the fastest way to create Millionaires in Nigeria either legally or illegally, they have to increase their filing fees to chop their own now because you wont remember them and the lawyer tomorrow when your NGO hammers! grin

Ok i am tired of typing, I hope i have been able to answer most of your pressing NGO/INCORPORATED TRUSTEE registration questions in a very simple and understandable manner, To be continued someday!

Cheers!

d. Submission of the duly completed Typed Application form which should be accompanied by the following:

2. A formal letter of Application to the CAC director General stating the reasons why you want to form the NGO and should be signed by either the Chairman, Secretary or the Applicatants Solicitor i.e yours truely wink

3. Copies and Proof of the Original Newspaper Publications

It depends on the lawyer and because the CAC knows registering an NGO is the fastest way to create Millionaires in Nigeria either legally or illegally, they have to increase their filing fees to chop their own now because you wont remember them and the lawyer tomorrow when your NGO hammers! grin

Frequently Asked Questions: A-Z Of Company Registration In Nigeria

Nairaland GeneralA-z Of Registering A Non Governmental Organization (n.g.o) In Nigeria) by lawyer(op): 1:09am On Aug 05, 2009

Examples include: Wide group of organisations, from large charitable NGOs like Red Cross, Better Life for Rural Women etc down to small community organisations like sports, clubs or civics e.g.

Nigeria Youth AIDS Program
Nigeria Youth Working Group on Environment & Development
Nigerian Association of University Women
Nigerian Environment Study/Action Team
Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Lagos state chapter
Nigerian Integrated Rural Accelerated Development Organisation (NIRADO)
Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC)

(Also kindly note that the fees here were as at 2008, might have been reviewed, but would confirm and revert back if it’s still the same).
The fees have been reviewed and its more expensive with new things and requirements added and dont forget the brown envelope fees for the bureaucrats in Alausa has also increased with the expectant N60,000 tax clearance fees if you dont have your Income tax being to N100,000 now depending on the area the property is being purchased.

One more thing, the average time to get a C/O in Alausa takes almost 9months to 1 year not 3 months depending on how you settle the Alausa bureaucrats!

NIGERIA: Boko Haram sect leader Ustaz Mohammed Yusuf vows revenge
The following report is from the Daily Trust, Abuja, Nigeria. [Note the term Kafirci may be used in reference to "unlawful or against the practice of Islam; apostacy or something to be eliminated", such as Muslims who are subjected to Western education in violation of their religious beliefs - which Boko Haram seeks to end.]

Maiduguri - Leader of the radical Islamic sect opposed to western education, Ustaz Mohammed Yusuf, yesterday told Daily Trust that his group would not take kindly to the killing of dozens of its supporters in Bauchi.

Yusuf, who spoke to our reporter by telephone on the clashes between his supporters and the police in Bauchi, said his men were ready to die to ensure the institution of a strict Islamic society.

Last week nine suspected followers of Yusuf were arrested in Biu, Borno State, carrying bombs. Also on Saturday, a prominent member of the sect died in an explosion at his home while fixing a bomb for use on a target.

Yusuf confirmed to our reporter that those were his men. "I received information that my followers were attacked in different locations at Biu. Initially I thought it was an attempt by the authorities to justify their plan to arrest me but I later gathered reliably that our brothers were doing what Allah said, arm yourself to defend yourself and your religion in the face of an attack and an attack was eminent. This was what Malam Hassan (bomb victim) was doing when he became a martyr.

"What I said previously that we are going to be attacked by the authorities has manifested itself in Bauchi, where about 40 of our brothers were killed, their Mosque and homes burnt down completely and several others were injured and about a hundred are presently in detention. Therefore, we will not agree with this kind of humiliation, we are ready to die together with our brothers and we would never concede to non-belief in Allah," he said.

Asked why he would not surrender to the authorities given the number of deaths on the side of his group, Yusuf said, "I will not give myself up, if Allah wishes, they will arrest me, if Allah does not wish, they will never arrest me. But I will never give up myself, not after 37 of my followers are killed in Bauchi. Is it right to kill them, is it right to shoot human beings? To surrender myself means what they did is right. Therefore, we are ready to fight to die."

He added: "The end of this crisis is, Kafirci and the kind of harassment my people are facing must stop. Democracy and the current system of education must be changed otherwise this war that is yet to start would continue for long."

Reminded that even during the time of the Prophet of Islam, Muslims and non-Muslims co-existed peacefully, he said, "Kafirci was never imposed on the Prophet, he came and met it and gradually turned it into an Islamic state but our land was an Islamic state (Borno) before the colonial masters turned it to a kafir land. The current system is contrary to true Islamic beliefs."

He added: "When they shot 18, they promised to do more and now you have over 70 that have received gunshots both dead and alive. Therefore, if we give ourselves up or they get us or me sure, they will kill me. We will not hear anyone. It is not with our strength that we will confront the authorities but with the help of Allah.

"What I want to tell the general public especially Muslims is, turn to Allah, pray and remain patient. Everyone must worship Him, this is the promise the Prophet undertook on our behalf before coming to this earth. We don't have any quarrel with the public, only the authorities, unless the general public supports the authorities."

JIHAD IN NIGERIA: Reports that Boko Haram sect entered cross-border / Intelligence indicates new attacks may be pending
Pine River World News / IntelTrends
July 28, 2009

The current unrest in Nigeria's northern states continues as Islamist Boko Haram sect members, led by Ustaz Mohammed Yusuf, are reported to be regrouping for additional attacks.

Keeping tabs on the Nigerian press this morning I note Daily Sun correspondent, Molly Kilete in Abuja, reports "The sect members who were said to have gained access to Borno State from a neighbouring country some few months ago, were first spotted by men of the Multi National Joint Task Force, who Daily Sun gathered had been keeping a close watch on them."

Which neighboring country? The article doesn't say. Maiduguri, the scene of the initial attack, is located in the northeast of the country in close proximity to Chad, Niger and Cameroon. The Chadian capital, N'Djamena, is not far from the border and has been the scene of domestic rebel assaults. However, it is unknown if this is the country referred to.

Despite widespread property damage the Daily Trust, Abuja, reports that "The Ibn Taimiyya mosque and residence of Ustaz Muhammad Yusuf, leader of the sect, was intact as at 4pm yesterday." By the way, for my non-Muslim readers Ibn Taimiyya (1263-1328), for whom the mosque is named, was a dedicated Islamic fundamentalist on whom Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (i.e. Wahhabi sect) based his philosophy.

The following article, which I am reproducing as it does not appear to have a permalink associated with it, is from the Nigerian Tribune and states that the initial attack on Maiduguri was launched by "thousands" of Boko Haram followers - which would explain the high casualty figures but still allow for the remainder to regroup. The Tribune reporters write that "The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Christopher Dega, when contacted for his comments, said he could not address the press for now. He only said that intelligence report revealed that members of the sect were regrouping for another attack on the state."

Full text article appears below. (My further comments follow.)

Hundreds killed in Maiduguri, Kano, Yobe, Bauchi - As religious crisis spreads - 50 Talibans, 5 policemen also slain, IG claims - Security beefed up in Jos, Gombe
© Nigerian Tribune
By James Bwala,Kola Oyelere and Okey Muogbo
July 28, 2009

THE religious crisis that sparked off in Bauchi State on Sunday, spread to some other northern states on Monday with a number of lives, running into hundreds, lost in Borno, Kano and Yobe states.

Mayhem was unleashed in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Monday as an Islamic sect and security operatives clashed, leading to the killing of about 102, including two pastors.

The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the Islamic sect led by one Mohammed Yusuf, had earlier stormed Maiduguri city in their thousands, destroying churches and attacking innocent people. In the process, two pastors were said to have been killed, while churches on Wulari Street except one were torched.

Policemen who were said to have been deployed in the area to maintain peace and order following the attack of the Islamic sect on the churches were attacked by the sect.

At the end of the exchange of fire between members of the sect and the Borno State Police Command, over 100 of them (members of the sect) were said to have been killed.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that on Sunday around 6.00 p.m., the leader of the Islamic sect, Yusuf, according to police security reports, had informed his members of a possible attack the following day.

It was gathered that the sect struck about midnight and burnt down Lamisila Police Station, during which about six policemen were killed.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Christopher Dega, when contacted for his comments, said he could not address the press for now.

He only said that intelligence report revealed that members of the sect were regrouping for another attack on the state.

Meanwhile, the state was in a confused situation, at the time of this report as people were seen taking their families out of their homes to police barracks for safety.

Business premises have been shut down, while police and military operatives have taken over Maiduguri streets.

But members of the sect were seen chanting "Allahu Akbar" - meaning "Allah is Great."

Also on Monday, some suspected Islamic militants, popularly called 'Boko' who are opposed to western education, attacked the Wudil Police station in Kano State and injured the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) CSP. Sagir Idris, and two police officers. The police killed three of the suspected militants and arrested 33 of them including three teenaged boys and one girl.

Also the policemen on surveillance duty at main entrance to Kano from Bauchi to Maiduguri arrested over 100 people in two trucks but it had not yet been ascertained whether they were members of the group.

Speaking with journalists on Monday in Kano, the state Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Mamman Chafe, explained that the suspected militants who unleashed terror on the divisional police station took away two AK-47 rifles belonging to the police after exchanging fire with the police.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Baba Mohammed, who spoke on behalf of the CP stated that a team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lawal Tanko, had successfully arrested 33 members of the group, while the town of Wudil was now calm.

He disclosed that the DPO of Wudil town who was attacked by the sect, CSP Idris, had been admitted at the Dala Orthopedic Hospital for treatment of the injuries he sustained, while a mobile policeman was admitted at Nassarawa Hospital.

According to him, the game plan of the militants in attacking the police station might have been to get guns which they would then use to carry out more nefarious activities.

The PPRO said security had been beefed up around the town and called on members of the public to report any suspicious people to the nearest police station.

He said: "the security has been beefed up in the town to ensure the peace and order," stressing that the militants came to Kano in their numbers, warned that the police would not relent in their efforts to crack down on criminals.

Speaking after being paraded at the police headquarters, one of the arrested Islamic militants, Mallam Abdulmuminu Ibrahim Muhammad, declared that "of course, I am a member of the group, and I do not believe in western education, it is against our practice."

"I have no regrets for being a member of the group. It is Jihad, Western education is bad practice."

Mallam Muhammed said that they operated an Islamic school at Panshekara with over 100 students who were all against western education, stating that "our aims is to ensure that western education is abolished within the society.

"There is no going back on our mission, they can arrest all of us and they can not kill all of us, that is what we believe and we are ready to fight against it."

However, a teenage girl, Aisha A. Abba, lamented her involvement. "It is my uncle that influenced and took me to the group, I don't know anything about militants, I am a student who is learning Qur'an and hadith, and I am not part of those who attacked the police station," she said.

Meanwhile, the acting Inspector General of Police, Ogbonnaya Onovo, said on Monday that five policemen and 50 suspected members of "a Taliban Group" were killed in the mayhem which occurred in Bauchi and Maiduguri at the weekend.

In his maiden news conference on Monday in Abuja, Onovo said that last week, suspected members of the group unleashed mayhem on the people of Bauchi and Maiduguri.

"What I have here now is that five policemen and 50 Taliban members were killed; one police station burnt and various uniforms and arms were recovered from the suspects.

"This is a fanatical, anti-government and anti-people organisation. We don't know what their aims are yet but we are out to identify and arrest their leaders.

"It is our duty to ensure that nobody unleashes mayhem on the public," he said.

Meanwhile, President Umaru Yar'Adua has ordered security agencies to take contain attacks on police posts and public buildings in states of the federation.

After being briefed, on Monday, by heads of security agencies on the crisis in parts of Bauchi, Borno, Kano and Yobe states, President Yar'Adua directed that no effort should be spared in identifying, arresting and prosecuting leaders and members of the sects alleged to have been involved in the attacks.

The president further directed that security be beefed up in all neighbouring states and also that security personnel be placed on alert to ensure that the attacks did not spread elsewhere.

A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Olusegun Adeniyi, said "President Yar'Adua regrets the unneccesary loss of lives occasioned by the unprovoked attacks on the police and other innocent Nigerians in the affected states."

[End article.]
__________

Note that Mallam Abdulmuminu Ibrahim Muhammad, a captured Islamist, stated "I have no regrets for being a member of the group. It is Jihad, Western education is bad practice."

Presently the global media is treating the unrest as a largely localized (granted, over a sizeable area of northern and northeastern Nigeria) matter concerning Islamist objections to Western education - which is only one aspect of the problem, the other is the group's aim to impose sharia law throughout the whole of Nigeria. Should the current situation become publicized as "Jihad" then theoretically it opens the door for participation of foreign fighters. We already have at least one report (Daily Sun, above) that sect members entered cross-border.

The Nigerian military may succeed in restoring order in the immediate term. It is, however, the long-term security situation which is of increasing concern.

There is a possibility of future unrest in Lagos due to its sizeable Muslim population. While it is unlikely that Muslims will "travel North" to assist Boko Haram followers, fundamentalists in Lagos and other centers may take the opportunity to open a "southern front" advocating nationwide sharia or the advancement of an Islamic state of Nigeria.

But i have to warn you, you have to know the exact area you intend to buy in Badore because 75% of those lands there are under government acquistion. If and when you ever decide to buy from there, make sure you do a concrete search to determine whether that area falls under acquistion or not, unless you will have yourself to blame.

Cheers!

Lawyer, Pls, is it advisable to start building on a land that has got only deed of assignment, Survey plan and receipt or do I wait till the CofO is out?
Hi Nobilia,

The law states that you must have your C/o before you can get a Building plan Approval before you start building. Any other advise i give you contrary to this would be a huge violation of the legal professional ethics regulations.

Its better you mail me privately for more discussions on the issue.

Cheers!

Honestly, i am totally upset with coolface and this is a major disappointment to me. This whole problem started in the property forum when coolface and larez where discussing about a property to build for coolface until i started getting private emails, phone calls and text messages from Well meaning Nairalanders that Coolface is trying to rope larez into a scam because she has done same to people like inspired and sienna. Despite the rough words and evidences proffered by inspired and sienna, i was ready to give coolface the benefit of doubt to redeem those damning accusations until it turned into a verbal shout match and i had to transfer the thread to the general discussion hoping it will die a natural death if all parties could settle their grievances amicably outside the public eye.

Now with Uspry's new revelation, it is becoming quite clear that coolface is not what she really is and seems and despite her previous promise that her arguments with inspired and sienna where just personal private problems which she will solve between themselves, she forgot to mention that there are others who she has either involved herself in a shady or dodgy deal on Nairaland and there may be more.

This is not a laughing matter to anybody and nobody should treat it as such because it could be you tomorrow.

Nairaland is a place where people meet everyday and network for business opportunities and situations. One thing is pertinent on Nairaland; Everybody has gained from Somebody business wise and this is contributing to make the world a global village. I have met quite a handful of Nairalanders personally and done deals with them and for them and one thing that stands out like a sore thumb is the Issue of Trust and Honesty exhibited by all of them including me. These are the key things that makes Nairaland different from all other sites because we make sure our dealings are in the open and with the utmost sincerity. Once that trust is eroded, it leads to a lot of factors that potray negativity everywhere and the Moderators on Nairaland will not condone such absurdities in what so ever manner and form it rears it head.

Coolface i have not met you before but i responded responsibly when you were accused at first by making sure the complainants provided concrete and real evidence before they convict you. You denied every wrong doing and i tempered justice with mercy by appealing to all parties to sheath their swords but you have abused that trust and i expect more people to come out to complain about your work ethos and manner of business dealings. There is only one word for people like you and that's called a "SCAMMER" and i would encourage all parties to take up prosecutorial and legal options against you. This is cyber crime at its best and any how you look at it, its a crime. You had all the opportunity to call all parties together to arbitrate on the issue but you chose to deny it until it has all being exposed to the world.

On my own part, i would work with the site administrator and respectable moderators to invoke any sanction that is necessary against you.

Nairaland is a supposed to be a safe, trusted and honest community and we dont need people like you adding to the already bad image of Nigerians!

You will be well advised to Govern yourself accordingly in Future unless you could be looking at Multiple, concurrent and consecutive jail time years if you dont change your ways!

You Estate Agents on Nairaland are Very Funny undecided

Everyday, you bombard the property Forum with all manner of Properties, land, Mortgages blah blah blah for sale ranging from N100,000 to N10Billion looking for clients and purchasers to buy these properties and hand you a hefty commission.

Everyday, you complain that business is slow, economic crunch, global recession . . . blah blah blah

For once, somebody has come to challenge you directly that he needs to buy a property ASAP immediately and is waiting for your offer so he can wrap up the deal that will make one estate Agent very happy with his hefty commission and all of a sudden, its as if Time has stopped and your all frozen and cannot give a valid offer to this Man! undecided

Its really sad and tommorrow, you will resume on Nairaland properties shouting, screaming and spamming:

"3 bedroom bungalow for sale in Onipanu N50 Billion Naira good title"

"Available"

"Still Available"

"Owner has reduced the Price"

etc etc etc

But when you are presented with a golden opportunity, you refuse to take it and tomorrow you will be wondering why your own share of the Miracle hasn't reached you, when your not even trying to help your selves!

I am extremely pissed with all you agents angry Next time i know someone is interested in Buying a property, i will definately refer him outside Nairaland property because your definately not representing Nairaland Properties well!

From Coolface

@ Larez,

Am back home Sir, I need some paperwork and will be going back again. And I've had it listening to talks about not responding and all these other stuffs. So from now on, my Cell phone will be switched off as I wouldn't want anybody telling me not to respond.

@ Siena,
Even though my strings keeps pulling me back and stopping me from fighting this battle, I feel not fighting this evil today means fighting it another day.

If I have a choice, I'll prefer to fight now.

Come, let us reason together, even though am raving mad right now, but before we get raw and dirty, let's not loose sight of the real issue.

Let's have it as a civilized adults. I will not hide the fact that it's obvious that I've made a serious error by having any type of acquaintance with a particular member on this forum, You!

But that can wait. For now, there's been the issue of what? Notes and Pattern of fraud comparisons ? I'd like to know how we get here. Let's decode the mystery behind the face.

I can handle your mess, and quite a match for your Male incompetencies, you just don't know it yet.

I thank God, and should continue to thank him that I called for us to slow down a bit while we were together. You're proving to me with everything going on right now that I would have walked into a live wire!

Is it by force? Afterall I never met you in person? I am not your property, nor did you pay any dowry on me. I asked for a break, and rightfully so after all the issues going on. Yes we discussed moving to London and I said I don't want to bloody rent, and took out a loan on my house, then asked you the status about your credit as I would not have any since I'd be considered a foreigner in UK. While we were on that someone alerted me about your multiple facebook accounts. I asked you and you denied and said you've lost contact with all your childhood friends. I was your only friend on the one you created newly.

When I presented to you the new ID that showed your real friends, your question was, "why did you ask me when you knew all along?" That, alone, shook me to my very foundations. And I was going to uproot myself and move to UK, for you? So I treated and obviously you got married(and please leave that lady(your wife) alone from this mess, she has nothing to do with this).

I heard about your upcoming marriage from a source on Nairaland, and contacted you as we were not on speaking terms then reason being because you had stated something which was very private to a third party, and that third party had relayed it to somebody in Naija, and it had found it way back to me. Out of all the confidential things you had repeated, the one that got me most was that I was getting worried not making love for a long time, that it might lead to a medical condition. I never thought any man that's worth its salt would ever relay that to any human being. It was shocking, but it was true! And how did that info get to Naija?

And I heard about your allegations that I also ripped you off while building your website for you. I can never get over this, not in this lifetime at least!

I was the one that suggested the whole damn deltavag and registered your domain for you. I told you to stop working for that idiot and that you can stand on your own because I believed in you. I sweat to get things straightened out and was the force and brain behind deltavag website and Deltavag ltd. I gave you passwords to my Firstrust Bank account so you can access it, gave you my ebay account and paypal log in details so you can trade until ebay flagged my account and suspended it because you were trading from london while the original owner was in US!

Yes I may retreated to my shell at one point, but it was not always like that! There were things that happened and they were not cause because I was unfaithful, Nairaland doesnt know this, but you know. You have facts as to prove that! And I made it plain I don't want to come to UK neither wanting you coming to US for a reason. I needed to see who you are. Things were moving too fast and I felt chocked. Remember how you'd complain even when I sat down and watch movies for two hours without talking to you?

I emailed you when found out you were getting married, and it was from my heart! I wished you well and hope you'd find happiness with whomever you are with. I didn't think it was right to keep malice when you big day is coming, and I happen to know. You sounded like you have nothing against me too and had said you'll be watching over me as a Big brother! You never hinted that you have all these venom bottled up inside of you!

What is it this time that you are comparing with Inspired m? Why not take it up with me? Why now? I don't know how I'd have handle this if I had been married to you and watch you pick up notes and compared with friends of an ex, right under my nose!

There's obviously something else to this. What is it? I can do whatever I want and be with whomever I choose to be with and it's not of your bloody business! Go and look after your wife and be contented cause I believe she deserve some respect. And Yes, I will call you a busy body person again just like I did yesterday! Sue me!

This is between me and you, take me up and hang me here, it's ok, I can handle it. Stop drawing attention to people that really knows nothing about this. They only got your part of the story and blew it up. I'm not worried about them.

You want to fight and attack me over the romance fraud? Or Over website fraud? Or for failing to come to the UK nor stopping you from coming when it became obvious that you may not be the person I thought you said you were?

Or you want to fight me over the fact that I dare to dream and put it here on Nairaland? Which is it?

Come with your dirt with the best game and skill you're known for. You def have abundance of drama and I'm your willing spectator.

Trust me, no one, I repeat, nobody is immune to a dangerous bloodclot.

The greatest freedom in life is to separate your emotional barebone away from the public.

The stage belongs to you now Siena, I'd like to see you roll.

You can take and use my brain but you can never take away my passion, my spirit, and I can take it to whichever place I want it, whether with a real person, flesh and blood, or to build castles in the air! I owe you nothing! Absolutely nothing!!

I fought Seun for you on Nairaland here when you said he was messing with you. I tried everything within my power to get you to see that you can soar as high as you want to be! And you were in your bed snoring while I stood up all night looking for domain name to suit you, and couldnt find any free until you suggested deltavag about 6:30am. I was an ammateur and knew nothing about website building when I met you. Everything we did in building your site and my site, I learnt and got burnt before I got knowledgeable about how it works. I couldnt write a single line of code if my life depends on it, but have to dig for skills to be able to deal with programmers and understand the diff between PHP & ASP, and all the rest jargons.

And Yes I ran with my life when I felt that some things are not quite in place. You obviously got settled too. So why the need for bloodshed? Why the need to compare notes with Inspired m? Or are you guys into some kind of cult, you exchange notes on your girls?? What if we'd actually made it to see in person? What notes would you be comparing by now?

And as for my house and all I did on it, and how I got it, it was not with romance fraud or car fraud or whatever. I paid my price and did some work many of you would have snorted your nose and never touch. I have reason to dream. I should be able to dream, I have paid my price! And it did not start in US. I started long ago. Go to Nigerite in Nigeria, Lagos, and Eternit in Sapele, And I can tell you names of their TD that transacted business with me that you can confirm what I claim. I missed out on parties and clubbing when I had the time to do all of those because I have a specific goal of where I'd like to be, probably too early in life. I repeat, again, I have paid and still paying my price!!! You must have been running around on the streets of london digging up dirt on ex's and comparing notes on with other men on your private affairs while I was trying to build a name for myself in Nigeria then. I had a huge Porta-Cabin in the carpark facing the Union Building in Marina, Lagos. And I was so little then and could never summon courage to tell people it belong to me until my Mum came followed me there one morning and told me I have every reason to be proud! I paid for it, cash. The man who sold it to me is Tunde Gaji and he can attest to it! So also is the low-loader driver at Wharf, Apapa who carried it from Yaba to Marina, Lagos. I never needed to con men to get their money or use their car to make my dream come true.
Coolface, can you expaniate on this more because i need to get to the bottom of this thing now. Tempers are flaring and people are being hurt and allegations are being made. I would like all parties to respond according and see where we have all erred and provide what ever remedy to alleviate the problem. Nairaland is suppose to be a family and things like this makes me sad and those that have lost valuables have to be compensated and those that have said things in error and malice have to apologize!

So please lets get this thing sorted out!

A piece of advice, You should both edit what you posted and delete them. Pinkequity, we'll discuss further via yahoo and email. I'll be online for a while.
@larez

Why are you advicing that they should delete their posts and edit them? An allegation has been made towards coolfaced by a respectable member of Nairaland, dont you think coolface ought to respond to the allegations in a manner that seems judicially plausible to the complainant and if not, necessary sections should be administered to the defaulter either inspired for making such a libelous claim or against coolfaced for defrauding another member on Nairaland?

Please i would want your own advice on this issue now!

These are serious allegations and the truth must prevail!

@coolface

Its really nice that you want a house like this and hopefully encourage others to build their own houses as beautiful as your proposed house cheesy

When do you want to start building? Have you bought the land(s) where you want to build them because with these kind of designs, its fit for mostly the V.I, Ikoyi/Lekki settings? Have you done the total cost of the amount you will spend from begin to end? And dont forget Larez fees for labor o! grin Because with all these designs, i am sure bidding starts at $1Million dollars to engage him because they are very good designs! The fact that even a VP of a bank posed in one of his brochures shows this guy is top notch!

Anyhow sha, keep me posted!

A group of companies means when you form "3 separate limited companies" you can now term them as a group after you apply to turn your company into a group of companies and the more you have individual companies the more you can lodge them under the group of companies tag!

E.G

1.Dangote cement (1 Company)

2. Dangote Sugar (2nd Company)

3. Dangote Flour (3rd Company)

All of them can now fall under the banner of Dangote Group of Companies with one CEO and probably the same set of directors running it all!

Cheers!
