3 months is a lot. Not visiting family…. Not healthcare. Tourism for 3 months? U give reason as tourism and visiting a friend and say you intend to spend 3 months. That is a huge red flag. Put yourself in the shoes of the ECO.
You will outrightly deny this application as yet agaon they do not even have the funds to fund this 3 months but relying on a friend. What happens if after 1 month the friend decides to back out of your tourism plans??… so you will recourse to public funds or probably overstay.
This is very very simple. Intention is doubted with a great deal. Even me sef if this is a foreigner intending to visit Nigeria with the above profile, I will deny the visa. You have not proved your intent beyond reasonable doubt.. come worsen am with such a long time and tagged it tourism and visiting a friend.
No offense intended @olamzy45 pls
putting myself in the ECO shoes, i would give the applicant the visa, with lesser duration and a single entry..

The refusal says the documents provided don’t show these funds from the sponsor.
Yes, there’s no urgency to return him but going to spend 3 months sleeping and waking up abroad and as a first-timer, in his or her application is not the right way to present one’s case.
If the sponsor was the writer's child yes it would have been acceptable but in this case, it is stated friend so there’s a lot more to prove.
Any first-time applicant to the Uk has a lot to prove because everyone is deemed an immigrant and only the documents provided refute that immigrant Intent.
Greetings Debbieeeeeee and permit me to add the Prophetessssss, but no enter Mummy G.O levels oooooo pls
Now, whilst still in the spirit i quote, 2 Corinthians 13:1 says "This is the third time I am coming to you. Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses".CSB version.

2-3 elders had stated 3 months as being too much or too long.

personally
3 months is not too much, not too long (there is no immigration rule as such) thus, i'm so sorry, but I could not have allowed the establishment of such matter without an objection not when 3 and more respected elders and gurus on here had suggested so.

As long as your visa would be valid for the duration of stay and one can demonstrate he/she would exist UK territories after his/her visit; also he/she should be able to explain why and what he/she will be doing for most or all of his/her visit, as such 3 months is not too much for a 6 months visa, and i believe this applies to old and new applicants.

He/she can re-apply at anytime, but must get it better next time.

Thanks and God bless.

If you are refused you will get a mail from UK embassy before getting a collection mail but if you given you won't receive any refusal mail you will only get collection mail
If you write them...

If a decision has been made you would be told that a decision has been made and that your case would be escalated, and in some cases you maybe told to not write them until after 10 working days.(in some cases that may not be included)

If a decision is not made yet, they will tell you that due to high volume of non-immigrant visa application they are unable to process application with the normal time frame, they would then slide in the mail instructing you not buy a ticket or do any such thing that may cause you to loose more money in the event of a refusal unless need be.

Finally, they would slide in the mail that they DO NOT DISCUSS OUTCOME OF AN APPLICATION VIA EMAIL OR PHONE and that you have to wait for future instructions from them if need be..

Note, the above text is no quote, but you get a response of such context or structure.

Ok. Please kindly do all Leef2022 stated and I am 100% certain you will get it next time you apply. Good luck
Pls oooooo there's no 100% certainty, best we do is advise either from experience or what we have learnt and read. The decision(s) lies with the ECO handling the application(s).

But i 100% agree with your positivity that the op gets it right when next he/she applies.

Hi, Olamzy45 Giselle and Amelia have hit the nail on the head.
You don’t apply to a developed country saying you want to spend 3 Months on holidays, nobody takes a holiday of 3 months abroad except for maternity or other very pressing things like health and co.
£3000 from your friend, this friend must be too generous
I’ll say this application wasn’t well put together and you should never be in a hurry to reapply if not you’re knocking on the door for another refusal. Wait at least 6 months is what I always advise although it’s not a rule on paper it’s only customary.
You’ve been refused once so your next application will be to be in top shape.
I wish you all the best.
That could have been the op's case as highlighted, and considering the op is a pensioner, i personally do not see any urgency why he/she would have needed to return back home or why he/she can not afford him/herself a 3 months vacation abroad. The op's friend may just have intended to foot part of such bills for medical tourism or something deemed important for their friendship.

Sorry about the refusal. 3months is alot of time to spend in the UK on a visit visa. Was it 6months you applied for or 2years?
Did you also provide them with your own statement showing you have that said money? Also what documents did you submit from your sponsor?
It's best you sort this things out very well b4 reapplying so that you dnt waste money, energy, time n effort getting denied again
Not outrightly wrong if your visa would still be valid at that time.

My 1st approved UK visa i stated i was spending 2 months as was on summer vacation at that time(this was 2 weeks after an initial refusal), reason for refusal by the VO was i intended to travel a month earlier when my vacation had not started which was true, so i changed by intended departure and return date. Note also, at the time of re-applying i submitted Uncle's P60 and bank statement and evidence that i had made payment of my next academic tuition and a letter from my school that i had passed all my exams and would head into year 2 of my 6 years program.

Good afternoon please I got an mail yesterday that my application is been refused with the reasons for refusal..
Am going to upload the reason my question is how soon can I reapply and how can I go about the reasons correction. Please help me out sir/ma
Sorry about the outcome of your application.

answering to your questions, you can reapply as soon as possible but you must make sure you correct and address the VO's concerns.

What you can correct
1. Ask your friend to support you with his/her P60 and or personal bank statement to demonstrate that he/she can afford the 3000k pounds you stated in your application.
2.The friend can make available the funds you stated either via money transfer/directly to your bank statement so you could include with your application to demonstrate that he/she can indeed finance your visit.

On your ends;
When next you want to apply try to submit evidence of your pensions or any financial documents at your disposal if you did not do so in your last application, this is to support your monthly and yearly earnings.

Subsequently, you and your friend may/may not wish to reduce the time you intend to spend in the UK, IF

May- If you and your friend do not have sufficient funds or financial documents to support that whilst in the UK you would have no reason to seek recourse for public funds or access the UK social benefit(s)/system, then it is only wise you have and must reduce the duration of your intended stay to match the size of your pocket and budget. Mind you, you would likely be issued a 6 months visa or more (depending on what duration of visa you would be applying for), multiple entry visa, as such you would still be able to spend the 3 months duration you intend to without being judge on probability of doubt by the VO about your intent of visit and duration.

May not- If you and your friend(sponsor) are able to support your financial capabilities, and you are able to demonstrate that you would leave the UK and her territories after your visit, then i don't see why 3 months is too much considering your stay would still be within validity of your visa.

wish you success in your future application.

Hmm, when i submitted on the 21.12.2021, i was thinking i would have to wait that long, but picked up my passport today with a 5 years visa. It was standard as i intend traveling in March for MRCP exams..

I wish all waiting, that the wait won't be in vain.

Good day, What happens if your stated travel date passes while the Visa application is still Awaiting decision? Do they give visa approval afterwards?
It may/may not affect the outcome.

May- If the intended arrival and departure dates were for an event(s) that a future valid visa may not be needful, then the VO may consider that, thus, concluding on the probability of doubt if you met the immigration rules at such time.

Maynot- If the intended arrival and departure dates are such, that a future valid visa can still serve the purpose, then the post-date should have no effect and you should have a successful application.

Wish your application success.

Thought travel agents advised against Royal AirMaroc and Emirate because of the ban to the UK and Nigeria respectively. It is advisable that before making payment, you should please confirm from the airline that they would be flying.
Oh yeah?? I'm not aware of such ban or travel guide, but if that is the case it is indeed wise due checks are done before/when purchasing a ticket through any of the previously mentioned route....

Thanks

departure, arrival date and airport play a role, try some popular departure and arrival airport and a possible non festive date.. btw Ethiopian, Royal Moroc and Emirates had round trip for 500USD and less

Yes you can, as long as your visa would be valid for the duration of your stay and you're financially capable.

Enjoy your visit......

Okay, I may try this route. A decision within ten business days is not bad. Was it her first time applying for a UK visa?
Also consider applicants that are still waiting and had their biometrics way back in Oct in Abj TLC. And actually 22-6 (12 business days though).
You maybe better calling off the trip and look forward to it at a later time. However, go with your heart.
Best of luck

My sister was refused visitors visa. The reason stated on the refusal letter is that large sums of money was deposited into her account. How soon can she reapply? Or what's the way forward?
Sorry about this, she could reapply soon as she could explain and address concerns(the deposits but not exclusive) as stated on her refusal. Way forward, is hopefully, she gets it right when next she applies. regards

Hello everyone! Silent reader here. I applied for my mum (5 yrs visit visa) and biometrics was done Nov 10 - Ikeja. Got courier dispatch email from TLS Jan 05.

Is there any way to know the decision made before getting the passport?

Thanks!
No and yes..
No- some op have shared here where they got collection mail, passport arrived with no vignette and they had to write to know their faith.
Yes-meaning since you have not received any refusal mail, most likely your mum was granted and hope and wish that would be the scenario.
wish you loud celebrations when her passport arrives

Let's call a spade a spade, if the CAS had indicated that OP paid a deposit of 1k quid, OP would likely have reached out to the school to get it fixed irrespective of the time it would take. Let's try and be doing the thing and stop speaking from the side of our mouth.
btw, the op would get a better comment(s) from the student thread as mentioned@cutebear, there must have been persons with similar experience(s).

well, i don't know the condition of the sch for issuance of cas. and IF was deliberate or not from the school, and op stated what he/she had in the CAS. However, if he/she had doubt, would be wise at that time to reach out to the school and would have had absolute peace now. but to state time as a reason and support with the interest thingy is not helping.

[quote author=AmeliaT post=109132440]I think the point here is that based on the form she filled, it is indicating that she went there on holiday and actually spent 6 years there which is an obvious breach in immigration laws and grounds for the UK to refuse her. @motunrayoo, sorry about this. It depends on how thorough and forgiving the ECO is. If it was a recent trip, the ECO could check the submitted passport for entry and exit stamps and realize it was an error and move on but this was 10 years ago so they may take it that you overstayed your visa and are a flight risk. Or they may reach out to you for further information to clarify this. Have you been to the UAE after this?

@debbie what do you advise in this case?
[s]1.Can she reach out to TLS or the embassy to correct this mistake with proof of the entry and exit stamps?[/s]
2. Does she withdraw and re apply
3. Or does she just hold out and pray?

personally, i think should be fine. But option 1 is not applicable. 2 is possible. 3. maybe best option.

Somebody please say something.
Well, i am not sure you did any wrong as you indicated info as shown on your CAS, but then best thing you would have done would have been to reach the school and correct the error, they say "what's worth doing is worth doing well", regardless of time it would cost you to get it done. But, to indicate the interest you were paying on a public thread like this is probably what you doing wrong now and shows you probably went for an arranged POF which are wounds you would not like to unravel. So be calm and hope for the best.

I booked an appointment for 3rd Jan. I received a call from TLS ikeja on 31st not to attend as they will be closed due to the public holiday. They also suggested I book for another date, knowing fully well that getting a date is very difficult. It's for a visitors visa. I don't know what to do. I plan going there on 4th and trying walk in as it's their fault for making 3rd available on their site. Although I have tried walk in before but I was turned down at the gate, they said only students are allowed for walk in. What do you guys suggest?
Just to add to options you have (which are; a walk-in/rescheduling as suggested), you may want to cancel your application and start afresh, as such you are able to change your intended date of departure, if you feel current available appointment dates are not okay with your arrival date to the UK in current application.
