Good evening seniors. Please I need some clarification. Is it possible for an uncle of mine to sponsor me on a tourist visa to the UK? I mean if he’s willing to provide some supporting documents. Will it be possible ? If it will, what do I have to do and what documents do I need to gather. Thanks and God bless
Yes it is possible.
your uncle may wish to assist you with the following letter of sponsorship, P60/bank statement, passport not extensive list though.

Best of success with your application

Good Evening House.

Thank you everyone for the assistance and help.

I have an enquiry to ask;
My sponsorship letter carries my passport details which is expiring in 6 months. I have applied for a new passport and I am about applying for Visa.
Do I need to inform my employer about my new passport number?
If I go to the embassy with the 2 passports, which of the passport will be Stamped?

I am quite in a dilemma, I would appreciate your response.

Thank you.
1.when you apply for a new passport, the previous is "cancelled without prejudice", meaning, even if it were still valid, it becomes invalid and not possible for travel outside the country, as such all visa would have to be transferred to a new passport as maybe the case.
2. Wise you inform your employer, so they could include the new passport details on your cos or notify the embassy or advise you on what to do.
3. You would have to submit the new one, regardless if your cos have the former details... You may wish to add datapage of the previous passport though.

Hi everyone, I'm planning to apply for UK visa soon, can I use my account statement.
Got several transaction for over two years now, I'm full time into crypto I don't know if such account is acceptable due to crypto transaction ban in Nigeria
Yes, you can use the account statement.... but my people talk sey "prevention better pass cure".... i.e rather than having to cure by explaining large deposits and withdrawals that the VO may consider or disregard, prevent having to cure by keeping things simple and clean.

all the best mate.....

Good evening everyone. For the sake of some of us that are first time travelers, please what are the possible questions to be asked at the airport (esp some of us that are young, and don’t have any relative in UK), and if you can also take your time to write the way in which we’ll answer, will be so much appreciated.

And what are the things to put in order, the necessary things to do and have. Please just share experiences. Thank you

Pls, do you still have your VAF?

Pls after getting an admission from a UK school when should I apply for visa and regarding the block account when should it be funded
the student thread would help you better, but i would suppose you would have to apply for a visa when all necessary requirements for a tier 4 visa are met by you and should be, such that your arrival date to the UK and the school, is not beyond the school's final date of arrival for incoming international students...

Goodday,
I was refused Uk visa and feel its too short a time to reapply. Hence i am applying for the German schengen visa of 90 days.Seeing your message now means this is also a wrong move as I need schengen of 180 days right.
Please respond.
The op never implied that you have made any wrong moves or should not go ahead with your german visa application. The op was only pointing out or drawing awareness of some secondary benefits that comes with having a valid visa(s) for any of these states UK, US, Japan, Eu states and schengen territories.

Take all the benefits that come with your UK visa if you have the means.

Like you don’t need another visa to visit Cancun Mexico if you have UK visa.

Mexico: Visa is not required for passengers holding a valid visa issued by the United States, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, or a valid tourist visa issued by a Schengen Area member states. Maximum stay of 180 days.
And that's no extensive list. But yeah you right. Brazil did permit that in the past, not sure if they still do.

If you are in Lagos or ibadan, healthtracka.com will do test for you in the morning at home or your preferred location and send your results by evening. So you can book the test a day before your flight. My partner and I used them and there were no issues.
My advise thou, if there is no urgency for a visit atm, intended travelers may wish to hang in there a bit, with current review about testing and all going on by the UK government, I expect testing to be scrapped at least for fully vaccinated travelers and maybe a choice thingy for unvaccinated.

Thank you very much Ma Ameliia....I really appreciate your concerned yesterday.

I have sent an email to UKVI complaint department for wrongly denied my wife for a large fund deposit the ECO mentioned.

Now I was told to reapply immediately to counter the refusal letter on a ground by providing the statement of account where I transferred the money into my wife bank account.

I used my personal bank statement to transferred the money to her which I used the account for miscellaneous and domestic stuff at times, Although I have a salary account which showing a steading 550k monthly salary.

We will write a cover letter to address the reason Eco wrongly denied my wife and the kids, also to provide my salary account, personal account I used to transferred the money into her acct, my payslips, and my work ID card, previous bank statement indicating the salary and 1.5m sponsorship fund apart from that no any other funds.

Please is that a good ideas?

All the gurus ...leef,, madam, cutebear , Ameila, Giselle and everyone
Great you have had a response,
But again, you seem so stressed with the bank statement thingy which you shouldn't, do as you have been advised by UKVI, and include other necessary documents like you have noted.
Your main worry now should be would your wife be on leave, and your kids on holidays? I am putting into consideration that, that might have been the case for the kids and wife during the festive seasons the initial travel and return date was planned. If that is a possibility, kindly re-apply at anytime your wife and kids still need a valid visa for their trip..
Best of success with their future applications.

Also, better the complaint be in the writing of the applicant(your wife) denied.

AmeliaT:
You can't re-check in luggage with an airport or airside transit visa. To recheck in your luggage, you need a city transit or visitor in transit visa as you will need to exit the departure area, clear immigration etc.
"Airport Transit Visa

You remain in the airport’s international zone while waiting for the transfer flight to your final destination, and your final destination is located outside the Schengen area.

Airport transit visa
1/ You are travelling from an airport in a country located outside the Schengen Area and staying in the international zone of an airport located in metropolitan France while waiting for your connection to your final destination, which is also located outside the Schengen Area.

You must apply for an “A” airport transit visa (ATV) if you hold:

An ordinary, service or special passport issued by: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, or Sri Lanka;
An ordinary passport issued by: Angola, Bolivia, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Mali, Mauritania, the Philippines (except in the case of seafarers holding a seaman’s book issued in accordance with international conventions), the Republic of Guinea, the Republic of the Congo, Russia (if you are travelling from an airport located in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Turkey or Egypt), Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria or India;
A service passport issued by the Republic of Guinea;
A travel document for Palestinian refugees;
A travel document for Palestinian refugees issued by the Egyptian, Lebanese or Syrian authorities.
This requirement does not apply to holders of diplomatic passports.

You do not require an airport transit visa if you are:

An aircraft crew member or national of a country that is party to the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation (except China);
A holder of a valid residence permit issued by a Member State of the European Union or the European Economic Area;
A holder of a residence permit guaranteeing the right of return and issued by Monaco, the Principality of Andorra, Japan, Canada, the United States or the Republic of San Marino, by one or more countries or public bodies from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius);
A holder of a valid visa for a Member State of the European Union or the European Economic Area, Canada, the United States or Japan, by one or more countries or public bodies from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius);
A family member of a national of the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland;
A holder of a valid Schengen visa, a national long-stay visa, or a residence permit issued by a Schengen country.
There are three types of airport transit visa (ATV):

A one-way ATV, which authorizes one-way transit through a Schengen country;
A return ATV, which authorizes return airport transit through one or two Schengen countries;
A multiple ATV, which authorizes several transits through one or more Schengen countries.
Holders of ATVs are not authorized to enter the Schengen Area. If you have a connection between two airports in the Schengen Area, or if the airport through which you wish to enter the French territory is closed overnight for the duration of the transit, you must hold a valid short-stay Schengen visa.

2/ You are travelling from an airport in a third country and you will remain in the international zone of an airport located in a French overseas department, community or territory while waiting for your connection to your final destination, which is also located in a third country.

The same rules apply as for transit through metropolitan France (see above). If you wish to leave the international zone and enter the French overseas department, community or territory in which the airport you are transiting through is located, you must hold a valid short-stay visa for the territory concerned".

As available on France visa application for transit visa. I did not find where it states a person with an airport transit can't re-check his/her luggage. Maybe when i did so, was error for the immigration to allow me.

I wouldn't disagree with your op. think the applicant demonstrated quite enough on the deposit. (like Date, time). Not sure what more and how clear that could be explained. Unless and Unless there were other large deposits...

Dear AmeliaT,
Pls explain why you can't recheck if you have the transit visas, I would have thought that is one of its purpose(s)?

So if for instance you depart LOS with Air france or if Rynna air or whichever, and your connecting flight to the Uk or final destination is Lufthansa or another carrier or such you have multiple stop overs, would Air france or Lufthansa do the re-checking for the traveler?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by leef2022:
Dinoforyou00:
Please can someone explain transit visa. And is it all the flight that has stop overs in another country that will require transit visa
There are two types transit visas
Airport transit visas, means you would remain within the airport (i.e area for international departure), whilst waiting for a connecting flight to your final destination, mostly needed if you would require to re-check your luggage and your stop-over time exceeds 2hrs waiting time if not mistaking.
City transit visa means you can leave the airport, enter the city for duration of your transit visa (usually very limited and this type is ideal if you are travelling by road/land) and you wish to pass through a third state or more to your final destination. (mainly the EU, USA, UK, etc would require Nigeria passport holders have a transit visa. which ever of you choose to apply for is your choice and the ONUS would be on you to show you merit the transit visa.

No, not all countries/flights require transit visas for Nigerian passport holders and a transit visa is determined by a country's policy for immigrants and not the airline (note; diplomatic passport holders are in most cases excluded) Turkey, Dubai, Ethiopia, and more do not require you to have a transit visas for stop-overs.

You have provided a Nigerian birth certificate as evidence of relationship to your EEA citizen sponsor. It is noted that it has been registered 17 years after the date of birth. According to Nigeria Births, Deaths, Etc. (Compulsory Registration) Act, No. 69 (14 December 1992) it states late registration after 12 months shall only be registered ‘with the authority of the Deputy Chief Registrar’.
As you have only provided a birth certificate in isolation and no evidence from the competent authorities in Nigeria that such authority from the Deputy Chief Registrar has been given I am not satisfied that you have provided the ‘required evidence of relationship’ to show you are a ‘family member’ of a ‘relevant EEA citizen’.
On that basis you have failed to meet the eligibility requirements of Appendix EU (Family Permit) and your application is therefore refused.
Next Steps
If you have further evidence you want us to consider, you can make another application under the EUSS Family Permit at no cost: https://www.gov.uk/family-permit/eu- settlement-scheme-family-permit
If you have any questions or would like to discuss this letter, details on contacting us can be found on our website: https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-inside-outside-uk/y
You can also appeal this decision to the First Tier Tribunal under the Immigration Citizens’ Rights Appeals (EU Exit) Regulations 2020. You have 28 days from the date since you received this decision to appeal.
You can appeal on the basis that the decision is not in accordance with the EUSS Family Permit Rules, or that it breaches any rights you have under the Withdrawal Agreement, the EEA EFTA Separation Agreement, or the Swiss Citizens’ Rights Agreement. You may bring or continue an appeal from inside or outside the UK.
Information and support on how to appeal, the process, and the fees payable are all available online at https://www.gov.uk/immigration-asylum-tribunal/overview
Hey Papi/Mami
You are a few steps away from reconnecting with your fam. and would say is something you can easily sort...
I am not sure what was the source of the birth certificate you submitted with your application but you may want to take the following steps, if this was not the case
Get a birth cert. from National population commissions(NPC) that is issued under the births, deaths etc (compulsory registration) decree 69 of, 1992 of the federal republic of Nigeria, and that should come at no cost and you should have it issued on spot where and when you would be filling a request for one(in most cases such birth certs. come with a seal, stamp of LGA, name of registrar as well as his/her signature), afterwards you may wish to have the BC notarized, this could be done in Abuja or any state across Nigeria by legal bodies with such jurisdictions. Note this comes with some cost though, somewhere around 1000k-5000k or less, this from knowledge of one that was done 2 decades ago, as such cost maybe less or more now
After you must have done this you may want to proceed with this quote "If you have further evidence you want us to consider, you can make another application under the EUSS Family Permit at no cost: https://www.gov.uk/family-permit/eu- settlement-scheme-family-permit"
Or other steps provided to you in the letter.
Pls kindly visit the NPC and other legal bodies as you may require to support your refused current birth cert.
Best wishes and happy reconnecting with your fam.....

Not vexed a bit, was never convinced with your suggestion that attending a wedding is not a strong evidence, I had put into consideration your moniker as an elder/guru on NL, as such, could discourage the applicant from going ahead with such a life-time event, then you says "third world countries" as if applying for a tourism/studies would change the third world country thingy abi? I tire for your wisdom. You interpreted that as illiteracy then perhaps i understand reasons for the poor op and rushing into conclusions further shows how poorly you handle corrections. Yes google is enough. Or perhaps it is not enough for tourism. Lmao.
When you get a better understanding of why people are refused visas so easily you will understand my point especially from countries such as ‘acclaimed third world nations’. If I start explaining, you wont understand so there’s no point. no vex.
I strongly stand for parents reasons. Theirs is most paramount, others are secondary… again I refuse to delve into this.
The op was hinging on the fact that he was issuing invitation letter for wedding… i am only trying to make him/her understand it is not the lifeline for visa issuance. Check the ties of the individual to their country. What will bring them back. This is the basis for a visa to be issued. IV for wedding is inconsequential to me. Na my opinion.
Lots of visa denials here are easily avoidable. There are however those few that you can see ecos winchi winchi. The rest are starightforward and could have gone in the right direction. So when I see I am going for birthday.. I am going for wedding .. this is inconsequential.
Howver if another person says this has been the most stressful year of my life.. I have had a hectic time at work and just deserve a break from work and my immediate environment and decided to undertake this trip whilst backing it up with reasons and adequate ties you have a fighting stance. What ever it is the trip must have an intention! It is not enough to say I want to attend wedding… why? Answer the intention!
If we start now. We wont finish.
We have 195 countries in this world, one is work stressed or as you have stated and needs a change from immediate environment. Africa alone has 54, the person sees 53 other countries as not sufficient for immediate change and rest?
Then there is a wedding function that a couple have chosen a singular venue within the UK (guests do not have 194 or even 54 countries but one to visit or miss out) to attend the occasion yet that is not good intentions to visit or be issued a visa if all supporting and necessary documents are presented?
Honestly, either is sufficient and strong enough for issuance of a visa, and we need not go in to the tag of developing countries, because whatever intentions the applicant chooses for applying for a visiting visa, does not make us developed nation, the applicant must do the right. simple

Well you could argue that in a circumstance where the visitor overstays, Home office has a reference point to track the visitor. (Inviter's address in this case). Also, if the UK resident is sponsoring the trip, does the visitor need to prove ties to Nigeria? I mean some people are stay-at-home moms for example, without proper earnings. Do they not stand a chance of visiting the UK on invitation?
Op, this you putting out argument for overstay and tracking which be your own abeg? Your only argument should be you want to go for wedding and return full stop.... all this track, address and rest no be wetyn you go explain for application.
No one is gonna track you, unless you become a danger to the society or you commit a crime or as maybe applicable and are declared person of interest. I off my hand oooo abeg

I maybe lacking understanding from your claims but I doubt it, it is only right an applicant present reasons for an intended visit as applicable to him/her. failure to do so and the ECO handling the application finds out may result in a refusal. An IV for a wedding is not inconsequential yet should not be the only thing presented, weddings are mostly attended on an Invite and without an invite, how does the applicant demonstrate that he/she would not constitute plague in the function or exceed the permissible number of guests for a public function if there were to be any public policy in regards to this pandemic? The invite carries honor to the guest from the couples and should be honored by the ECO if the applicant is able to demonstrate with other supporting documents that being at the wedding is something both parties are very happy and looking forward to.

Hello @7031646386. I have gone through the recent replies and I believe that @giselle237 & @AmeliaT have both given enough scrutiny of your application based on the refusal letter. Kindly take note of these. You can reapply once your circumstances change.
You should also visit other countries like South Africa, Dubai & Turkey before reapplying to the UK. This will further solidify your financial standing with the ECO
hmm,
You says solidify the applicant's financial standing with the ECO, how pls? if the applicant visited any of the listed countries for tourism, would he be rewarded with cash for visiting? Mind you, he's got a possible trip to the US, and now you add to his list 3 more countries?
From the ECO reasons for refusal the applicant showed gross feint priorities, attempt to abscond from his duty to his pregnant partner, further he demonstrated that perhaps maybe the only reason he may return to Nigeria would be for a US visa interview, not to mention i am not sure he demonstrated how he would continue to run his many different businesses and the well-being of his partner whilst away.
He needs to get settled with his new family, sort things out like a man, and plan a lovely get away for himself, partner and child. He has the funds 7mil, all he needs to do show, how he's earned that and make things simple, concise and precise in his next application.
