I still maintain that a transit visa is not required while in Singapore as long as he purchased the trip from South Africa to Sydney in one ticket. He can do it via Singapore Airline. What I am not sure of is that of the requirements of the trip from Lagos to South Africa.

I don't think you can apply for a US Visa from the UK because you are not a resident of the UK. So your best bet is to apply for the US Visa here in Nigeria before embarking on the UK trip. If you do and get the Visa, you can travel to the States from the UK.

It will not raise issues neither will it count against you.

However it's always advisable to book ahead of your scheduled travel. This is because the three days period for stamping of visa, if interview is successful, is not cast on stone. I've seen scenarios where it took almost a month to issue a visa to someone after he had a successful interview.

I advice you reapply once there's a change in your situation. If not you'll most likely get the same response.

Mum got her Visa cos she's got greater ties here in Nigeria: Her Age (VOs are very knowledgeable of our tradition and they know every aged person wants to be close to his or her home before their demise) and Her family (children, grandchildren and great grand-). She's more likely to come back to Nigeria. That's why she got it even without going for an interview. But for you, they are not sure you'd come back.

Travelling to the States shouldn't be a do-or-affair. I recommend you follow Mayorr89's advice.

Having a relative in the States is not a guarantee you will get the Visa whether a citizen or no citizen. In fact having a relative there means you really have to demonstrate strong ties to Nigeria.

Based on your info, your only strong tie is your daughter. Maybe you can reapply when your condition changes eg. more kids, business growth, marriage, more travel history, etc.

I have a question. What about mum, did she get the visa or was denied as well?

I'm not quite sure. But I think a transit visa would not be needed.

However the South African Airline might demand for a South African Visa since they are not the one taking you directly to Australia. You shouldn't need a transit visa in Singapore.

But you can ask a Travel Agent for more clarification.

You may also wish to go with the Turkish Airline option.

I am not a travel agent. I am a traveller just like you. I recommend you visit the two airline sites and book yourself with your ATM Card.

South Africa Airways website is www.flysaa.com . When booking, select Lagos to Johannesburg flight, choose February 6 and select the time: 10:15pm.

Singapore Airline website is www.singaporeair.com . When booking, select Johannesburg to Sydney flight (it'll make a stopover at Singapore by default), choose February 7 and select time: 1:45pm.

But if you feel you can't book yourself then you may wish to use travel agents. But I'm afraid, I can't recommend anyone to you.

Just fill in the truth. Start on a clean slate. Explain all these things that happened in the past to the VO during the interview. You might be denied but at least you said the truth and it would be on record. One day you might get it. Who knows, you might even get it right away.

The fact remains that it's always better to tell the truth. The truth shall always set you free

My uncle is ready to send me an invite, he is a citizen in the state. I am a Medical doctor currently working for a state specialist hospital for about 6months now. I can easily get a letter to back it.

The agent I contacted requesting for 950k, seems exhobitant. I just stumbled into this forum.

Instead of paying your agent N950,000 why don't you take out time and read the beginning of this thread (volumes 1, 2 and 3). You'll get all the processes therein. I got my visit visa without the assistance of any agent. I simply got busy with the numerous posts on these visit visa threads. I saved N950,000 in the process. I recommend you do same.

You can only cancel twice. The third will invalidate your appointment and you will need to pay another fee of N64,000.

Your best bet is a combination of South African Airline to Johannesburg and then Singapore Airline to Singapore and then to Sydney Australia (2 stops)
Total cost is N546,432 and it will take you approximately 34hrs.

Turkish Airline also does 2 stops at Istanbul and Bangkok at a slightly higher price of N583,311 and at a much longer time of approximately 47hrs

Qatar Airways does a single stop at Doha but the length of trip is 45hrs and cost is N871,495

The fastest is via Emirates with a single stop at Dubai with a trip length of 24hrs and cost of N881,051

I think it's not an issue. You can clarify this during the interview. Tell the VO you have a relative in the States and provide details on how you are related...Uncle? Aunt? Cousin? Wife? Fiancee? etc.

She voluntarily want to be my sponsorer. My question is if the VO ask me Who's going to fund my trip is it the same thing as sponsoring. She has a good job cuz she's a medical practitioners and own a house and properties.
2. My only close ties is my 4years old son.
3. Honestly i drive marwa and I earn 50k per month, I can still add some money to my account to make it fat. I resign from corporate job.
4. My wife and I are separated, never got married, but am the one taking care of the child since he was 2yrs.
5. Can I include his photograph, birth certificate of my son.
What are the document I need to support my claims and what do I need to do.
