My package ordered on 24th June using AliExpress standard shipping arrive yesterday. I picked it up from the Nipost after receiving sms from them. Inside the Nipost office, i discovered so many unclaimed packages, so you guys should be checking the Nipost

It's possible he gave you tracking information of an already completed order. Contact the seller
I would suggest you use global. cainiao .com (or Google it if I spelt it wrong). If you notice that there is a descrepancy in the order dates (i.e if the very first day of order and the updates following it are wrong) then you can trust that its possible the tracking id is wrong. First of all show the seller this information and wait for a day or two for his GOOD reason or proof to convince you. If he doesn't reply then In that situation do not hesitate to open a dispute. Tell them that the seller doesn't want to reply. When opening a dispute calmly and clearly state every thing. Give every information you have. There can never be too much info. Don't give them the chance to say something is missing. Provide screenshots of tracking information on 17track or global. Cainiao ( don't give them the opportunity to give excuse that they don't trust other sites), screenshot of the messge the seller sent to you, screenshots of the tracking on nipost site. AliExpress cannot deny hard evidence. They only declare a dispute invalid when they believe you've not given enough proof. I would suggest you show your dispute to someone else before sending it to them. You guys can run through it and see if there's anything you can say is "missing". Proof is what would win disputes.
This message is for everyone who wants to open a dispute.
Don't just say "my order didn't arrive and I want a full refund" something short.

Incase you guys dont know that there are some people in this country that will win the dispute, get the refund and later get the package, most of them wont bother to refund aliexpress/seller.

Imagine someone who got refunded for a phone around(200 dollars) and after few month, he was called to pickup his item, he or she will say awoof..

If you notice one of the screenshot uploaded here recently, the company said NIPOST no longer update their tracking which is true cuz even nipost website is purely useless. The question is how will alliexpress know whats going on in our country.

The fact is once its shipped to NG/LOS or shipped to destination country bla bla bla, then they have done their part because they can no longer track it if nipost decide not to update the tracking info, its now left for our lazy and useless nipost to do its own part...

So guys dont blame them o

Bro have you tried going to ask these guys to check if your product is with them or if they can locate it for you. All these packages that are stuck at despatched to overseas, if they've been stuck there for a very long time, it's possible that its in Nigeria already.
There's a guy here that said nipost called him to go and collect his product BUT it was still showing despatched to overseas. They claimed to have been trying to reach him for about a 5 days. When he went there and came back, he decided to check the tracking information once again. He then saw a whole lot of information was updated in that short amount of time. This message really isn't about your package by the way I just want to quote yours

About three weeks ago, I took delivery of an AE parcel which I selected DHL logistics option for and I specifically instructed the seller not to change from my DHL option under no circumstances.

It was two units of MPPT charge controllers. I was pleased, but not surprised that customs charges was not on it. It seems charge controllers of modest numbers may be excepted from customs fees. This used to be the case with small-sized solar inverters before too, but some overzealous officers at that customs have started charging on those. Also some NIPOST agent lie about customs charges when they are the ones doing the end delivery (like with EMS package for example)

So battery goods are heavily taxed irrespective of price? Don't these guys have a site where people can read about the charges to expect. They cannot just be using their own discretion and cell it tax.

Only paid once. The goods that I paid for weighed 10kg. Others just sail through with no charges...

What about a situation where it's a small item. I single smartphone. Do have experience with that?

That’s a lie. The marketing guy is professionally hiding some fact. Before account is opened at all, the bank would have checked and verified all documentation (Kyc) and marketer must have done his due diligence by physically visiting your address and confirming you live there. (Though they hardly do that this days especially for a savings account). If not the customer service officer won’t even bother to key in your details into the system for account opening process.

It’s possible the branch is short of naira master card or the customer service person just don’t want to go through the stress at that moment.

I got my card immediately after opening my account. It was seamless. Better to buy with DHL, than wait forever for AliExpress slow shipping.

You're welcome. I wish I could tell you that there's no need to be afraid. But with the current situation I can't. It's not the problem of being "cheated" it's just that there are too many uncertainties right now. When all these clears up (effects of the corona virus) then it would be a more peaceful experience buying from AliExpress.

First and most important thing to bear in mind is the fact that you might have to wait for two months + to get the phone. If you're prepared for that. Then I would advice you not to order from anyhow store you see. Look at the sellers ratings, for me 4.5 and below is bad. Look at how many years the store has been open. 4+ years is good. Read reviews of people that have bought the product. If there are no reviews, open the store and check reviews on other products. That would give you an idea of how reliable the seller is. I would also recommend you check another store that has reviews on that particular product.
When you've done all this research which and you are comfortable. Don't buy yet. Contact the seller and see how long he takes to reply your initial message. Ask him how long it would take him to ship it (NOTE once again what I said in the beginning). After checking all these I suggest using a zenith bank card to make the purchase. I also suggest using AliExpress standard shipping because that way you can know where your package is, and you have a greater chance of getting a refund of your money if the phone doesn't come.

When (or sometimes IF) the package arrives Nigeria it goes to NIPOST office in lagos before its then sent to the post office closest to your address you filled in AliExpress.
Once again REMEMBER its POSSIBLE in this covid period that your phone would take up to 2 months to come.
If you're lucky you would get it in less than that.

It's a phone I ordered during the summer sale. The seller has really good ratings and about 4+ years of experience (speed of delivery decreased during this corona shii). Nice seller. I asked other sellers who I ordered with and there's nothing sellers can do about it. Mine said that the courier told her it would be at Nigeria within 50 days (additional 50 days). Crazy stuff.
My seller replied me with this message.

We have the exact same order and tracking dates. Anyways it changed from the normal 07-25 to that message because it has passed 30 days. Calculate that August 22nd and you'd see that they are telling you to wait for another 30 days. 60days in total. It not big something. Just wait as you've been waiting before. I'm sure yours is stuck at despatched to overseas.
