Today I went to the post office to check my package, guess what? It was there. According to them, they have been trying to reach me for over a week now but my number is not going through, I simply collected my package and left. Order took exactly 45 days to reach me.

Lol. I placed my order on the 23rd of June with AESS but if I were you I won't get my hopes up. People have made two orders the same day and they arrive at very different times. But let's hope August is our month.

I reached out to NIPOST today on twitter and Facebook and a worker of theirs reached me. He said the covid-19 issue slowed down somethings(we know the story). However, he gave me his personal contact to reach him om WhatsApp. I did and sent him my tracking ID. He tracked it and said the package hasn't arrived Nigeria yet. He works in the international airport. He showed it to me on his monitor.

When was your order placed?

I get what you mean but I'm not saying that Edi-received is a guarantee. Not at all. A lot of people here have had theirs stuck on edi-received for a long time. What I'm trying to say is that AliExpress works with what is updated on the tracking. That's how they know what's going on with the package. And since they're not here in Nigeria to verify anything, and the tracking States that the information about the package has been received by the destination country...from their point of view, it's no longer in their hands. The point I'm trying to make now is that if AliExpress is not able to verify anything from their end except for what they see on the tracking updates, then the next thing to do is meet the people that can track it here...which is NIPOST. It's a good thing that the package is registered. It can't go into thin air.
If nipost can track it for him that's the best. If AliExpress can see that tracking information and see that the package didn't arrive at the post office I believe they'd review their decision.

I'd suggest you go to the post office and ask them to show you the tracking information that they have there so you can take a picture of it or something. In this situation I think unless AliExpress sees that the package really isn't with the post office they would keep giving the verdict as invalid. Because according to the tracking that says edi-recived it should mean that the package has been registered as being in Nigeria. Best thing to do is go to the post office and tell them the situation. Don't call or email. You can't get proof through call...or I don't think you'd get the service you need if you're not there in person.

Ignore that estimated time of arrival. You could go check if you want but it's unlikely that its there. Mine has been on the same stats since the 8th of July. I'm waiting till the 22nd and that would be two months of waiting.

Obviously you didn't read what he said well. Let it not be like nobody warned you. Order it yourself or find a friend or family member and use their card if your card doesn't support AliExpress.
There are too many uncertainties that might occur that a stranger wouldn't even stress over with you when they happen

Yeah I get the statement. I'm just wondering if unclaimed packages have anything to do with low mails. They don't need to "dispatch" anything. Just update information or text or call.
I don't see low mails as an excuse. Honestly I don't know how all these work so let them just do what they are doing.

Your item has been in Nigeria since June. You weren't called or texted? It's as if you've even forgotten about the order. You are just tracking it after four months

Because of the state of dollar now a lot of banks has stopped the use of their cards for international transactions. Right now zenith is among those that work and seems to be the best wth a dollar to naira rate of #391 I think.

First and most important thing to bear in mind is the fact that you might have to wait for two months + to get the phone. If you're prepared for that. Then I would advice you not to order from anyhow store you see. Look at the sellers ratings, for me 4.5 and below is bad. Look at how many years the store has been open. 4+ years is good. Read reviews of people that have bought the product. If there are no reviews, open the store and check reviews on other products. That would give you an idea of how reliable the seller is. I would also recommend you check another store that has reviews on that particular product.
When you've done all this research which and you are comfortable. Don't buy yet. Contact the seller and see how long he takes to reply your initial message. Ask him how long it would take him to ship it (NOTE once again what I said in the beginning). After checking all these I suggest using a zenith bank card to make the purchase. I also suggest using AliExpress standard shipping because that way you can know where your package is, and you have a greater chance of getting a refund of your money if the phone doesn't come.

When (or sometimes IF) the package arrives Nigeria it goes to NIPOST office in lagos before its then sent to the post office closest to your address you filled in AliExpress.
Once again REMEMBER its POSSIBLE in this covid period that your phone would take up to 2 months to come.
If you're lucky you would get it in less than that.

I've suspected that. Even if it's not in all cases but in majority of them. They're taking their sweet time. These guys don't know how stressful it is to wait for something
