3 weeks is too long.. every normal human will get worried, but still keep the hope alive so long as you're buyer's protection l
Nah. Nobody would refund him if it is showing failed delivery
ceaser:

I have two orders that has been on "failed delivery" since August 19. Three weeks ago I was at the PO to show 'em the tracking info, but all I got was "we will contact you when we have the item". Up till now I have not been contacted.

Irresponsible and awkward lot in that PO.
I'd say you should go back to the post office. It's not normal for it to take so long. Please if they don't bother to check for your order and say the same thing again don't just accept it and go.

How can one make sure the parcel are delivered to the nearest post office within ur location??

Can I use a friend atm to pay for my items...since the aliexpress account has different name from the bank account.
To get it close to you, Put in your FULL address. Then Google your area's zip code and put (less important but has to be done too). Before they send to a PO, they usually Google your address, then they send it to a close PO.

You can use any card to make payment. Owner of the card doesn't matter.

Use one of the trusted escrows on this platform, I've personally used wese90

If the seller happens to be one that is already a brand here they would most likely not agree to an escrow and you shouldn't be scared to deal with such people
Yeah. Thanks. I've already contacted wese90 regarding it. Thanks for recommending him on top all the other recommendations grin

Technology Market / What's A Safe Way For Both Buyer And Seller In Different States To Do Business? by Lemonz(m): 1:50pm On Sep 23, 2020
Hello nairalanders.
I want to purchase something online and I stay in lagos. It's one thing if the person is in lagos too because there are a lot of options.
What do you suggest I do if i want to buy it from someone outside the state?
I'm asking because the prices outside lagos are friendlier than the ones I saw for those in lagos.
I'm looking for a way that both the seller and the buyer can have trust in and not fear being scammed.

This is a sample of one of the chats I've had with sellers. When u look at some of ur orders. U see a thick on Gifts. Cos peeps don't get to pay custom duty for gifts.

Aight. I see that now. I'm guessing sellers just go ahead and do it without asking. Thanks

what u do is to wait a little
Maybe that's why it was advised to wait after three days (or was it five days) to open dispute when 90 days finish.
Technology Market / Re: This Thread Is Only For Aliexpress Shopper by Lemonz(m): 9:37am On Sep 22, 2020
I'm seeing from the screenshot that they said continue to wait for 5days. But also if that 5 days reach I think the dispute will automatically close. Lol. AliExpress sha.
I'm guessing it's for you to wait and on the fourth day, if they haven't sent another verdict, upload screenshots of tracking and any other thing. Even if you've done it before.

Reach the poster master general on this email,

He is a good man. He handled my case and that of my friend.
I've heard this somewhere before that the post master does help out. I just didn't know how to contact him/her.
Is sending a complaint to the email guaranteed to get a reply? What do you think?

Hello. I have sent a message to the email you provided cry
Awaiting your reply
amaifehenry:

Thank you so much! Good reviews finally! Another pointer is that Aliexpress is somehow at loggerheads with Nigerian Customs and Nipost. Due to several credit Card fraud purchases by Nigerians on the site. Sometimes this factor contribute to delays. Try eBay or wish app. It’s simple and fast! Not to discourage anyone that used Aliexpress or wants to use it anyways. But always check your mail to see if the shipper has notified you that your package has arrived your local post office! Cheers!

I’m sorry about the unfortunate incidents. When you order a package. A shipping fee is attached. Then it gets to the destinated country Which in this case is Nigeria. The period which you made the order was during the global lockdown era due to covid. So mails weren’t coming in. Not until the border was opened anyways. But I’m sure with the date your package must have arrived. Normally the packages arrive Lagos Office and are then sorted by dedicated staff to the various state where It is then resorted at state level to get down to the addressed city for pick up. Please what’s your state/address. I strongly advice you to locate the State headquarters immediately to file for a missing item. Make sure you have details of shipment (Tracking no, Name of sender, Your name/username, a valid ID. We will surely investigate it ASAP. Deeply sorry for the inconvenience it might have caused you. N.B I’m limited to what I can say here. But I do hope you get the help you deserve. edwardwilliam431@gmail.com. Cheers!
Thanks for your concern. As tiring as my own situation is, I'm not the only one as there are others who have been waiting before me.
I stay in lagos.
I believe the post office also told me that packages have to go through impc at nahco before it reaches designated post offices.

Copy the Nigeria Police, EFCC, ICPC but sure you have your evidences intact. You can also write a petition on that because those people have corrupt officials that seat on people package especially if it RUNS package.

Following what you said I decided to write up something like a rough work I would like you guys here to review and share you opinion on. I would attach screenshots, links and proof read later

Good day sir/ma
I hope this email meets you in good health. There has been a regular pattern of occurrences with packages that were ordered on AliExpress. Initially it was thought to he the effects of the covid19 pandemic on the country. But with recent complaints that have been received on a thread on the popular nairaland platform : LINK
it looks like something bigger is going on that we the buyers don't know about.
From my personal experience, I have noticed that less valuable items arrive very much faster than the more valuable ones ( most commonly phones). Using my case as an example, I mad an order on the 23rd on June with AliExpress and on the 8th of July, the tracking information was updated that it has been despatched to destination country - Nigeria. Ever since that date, there hasn't been any information regarding my package anywhere. I have visited the general post office at Marina multiple times and when they tried to track it for me they came up with nothing.
A different order that I made five days after the initial smartphone order (for an accessory to be used with the phone) has arrived since the 25th of August. This accessory was despatched 10 days after the phone was despatched and ordered five days after. It is very surprising that there is still no update on the phone up till now.
My situation is on the lighter side because there are people on the thread who have been waiting for their smartphone orders since as early as March, April and May.
Meanwhile they have received trivial items like cheap accessories. Surely there is more to it than we, the buyers know.
The trust that sellers have in Nigeria has taken a deep plunge as stores on the popular site AliExpress have decided to blacklist Nigeria. I believe that if this continue, it would be a great hit on the people here in Nigeria.
A few weeks later, an influx of testimonies of packages being received, flooded the thread. But as much as we asked "did anyone receive a phone" the answers were "No..."
It's a truly sad situation to use ones hard earned money to make a purchase online and then it reaches our country Nigeria and then it's nowhere to be found.
There are a lot of opinions I can pour out but it would not nearly be enough to show the weight of the situation I and hundreds of people (counting only those that decided to share their stories) are facing.

Lol. I am a platinum member. And have been shopping there since 2010.
Check my last quote. I told u how their shipping works. They either declare it as gift or under declared the price of the goods. Sellers even chat u up to know which one u would prefer and which price they should declare.

grin nothing but respect oga.
All the orders I've made and seen people make, I don't recall them mentioning this part of the transaction.
Are you talking about buying in bulk?
Or is it that the seller just does it without saying anything.
Anyways I'm just saying that I've not seen whwre anyone was made to pay fees to receive any order shipped with AliExpress standard shipping.
Except for the post office charges but that's a different thing.

There is no bad image. Phones and other items are still been delivered by nipost, dhl and the rest carriers. But once dey get to Nigeria, u have to pay custom duty for those items. Especially phones over 30k
What u should do is talk to ur seller or confirm the whereabout of ur items from the app (tracking). If it's with customs. Pay ur duty and get ur item delivered to u on schedule.
Problem is, since most of these items price are under declared or declared as gift so as to sail through customs without hitch. And Ali done wise up.

Hmmm... Are you sure you know how AliExpress works?
All these don't apply to AliExpress standard shipping.

I am not working for nipost, don't let them fool you, do not accept that defeatist illogical statements.
It is working
It wasn't the counter staff that told me that. I had a serious issue where my order was sent back to Singapore so I had to talk a woman higher up than the ones attending to customers. Immediately I mentioned nipost track and trace, she said I should leave that one for now. That they haven't been getting updates there for a long time.
Ignoring what she said...track24 dot net also does the same thing nipost track and trace does. So it's nothing special. They both depend on the same online tracking.
