Nollywood actress, Zainab Balogun has opened up on her experience dealing with stage four endometriosis.

Taking to Instagram today March 3, 2022, she reminisced on how the disorder made her lose a chunk of hair because of its treatment.

“This time last year I was reminded that it was Endometriosis Awareness month. After a year I wasn’t ready to share. Stage 4 Endometriosis they said �.
I took this picture just after I noticed I was losing my hair as a result of treatment. It took a lot not to burst into tears because I love my hair! To see batches of it in my hands stung. It still does but we’re gonna get it back,” she wrote.

She also went on to educate her followers on what the disorder entails and the dire need to get a Gynaecologist that cares.

Media personality and host, Moet Abebe has gotten inked for the 24th time.

The OAP took to Instagram where she shared a photo of the new tattoo and opened up on struggling with insecurities for years.

“Yes I’m addicted to getting ink but even with how many I’ve got I do not appear heavily tatted (not that there’s anything wrong with a heavily tatted female). Tbh this was a spontaneous one but is of great significance to me mainly because for many years; maybe till the pandemic hit, insecurities ruled my life…,”

“I often felt I wasn’t enough… I often felt that I had a point to prove…. but over the past 2-3 years I have realized no one has their “shit” together, absolutely NO ONE.. One of Nigeria and Afrobeats greatest acts, Davido will be headlining his 3rd concert at the famous O2 Arena in London, England on Saturday, 5th March. It’s been one of the hottest trending topics as far as Nigerian music and Afrobeats is concerned.

To increase the hype and buzz surrounding the event, Davido released a fresh advert in collaboration with Udux Music, who will be handling the livestream of the event. And to the surprise of everybody, it’s veteran American actor, director, and narrator Morgan Freeman’s iconic voice over the advert.

“We rise by lifting others, this is part of his legacy. Everything he does is for this purpose. This music is a way of not just inspiring people but lifting them,” said Freeman in the opening of the video.

Asa recently released her fifth studio album entitled “V” an ostensible roman numeral reference to the position of the project in her discography.

One record on the album that was hugely anticipated was “IDG (I Don’t Go)” featuring the multi-award-winning, globetrotting Baba Nla, Big Wiz, or the more popular eponym Wizkid.

Nobody can say otherwise, both Asa and Wizkid are regarded as some of the best vocalists to ever come straight out of Naija. If someone told you they blew from a talent show, you’s not be mad as to doubt. That’s how talented they are.

However, after a long wait for the two giants to unite in the studio, the performance was modest, honestly. The two sing over a Caribbean-inspired sound, but while the beat is great, the lyrics are- the lyrics don’t quite live up to Asa’s standards.

Take the performance with Cavemen, “Good Times” for instance, it had several meaningful and quotable lyrics, and is one of the standout moments of “V.”

Could it have been Wizkid’s influence? Perhaps. But make no mistake, if this was a performance two less significant artist, it’d be regarded as a very impressive performance.

Or maybe our expectations were just too high. Nonetheless, Asa and Wizkid will remain two of the finest Nigerian musicians of their time. #Fact

Tyler Perry’s long-anticipated Madea return hit Netflix on Friday, 25th February. After previously retiring the famous eponymous character that has been the centre of over a decade of movies, Perry saw reason to put on the Madea costume again, and why not? – tapping into Netflix’s diverse and populous membership base to bring his creative ideas to the fore.

“A Madea Homecoming” is the 12th film in the Madea franchise; the last one was 2019’s “A Madea Family Funeral.” Like the previous 11 movies or most of them, it keeps things admirably simple.

Perry, as keen followers of his works will know, has been behind heavy sleeper hits, most of them lauded for the way they’ve dramatized and brought sensitive real life scenarios to big screens.

The Madea movie series allows him to be more creative yet subtle in the way he tackles these issues. “A Madea Homecoming” in all its celebration of humour, Perry’s witty writing, and people of colour, manages to draw attention to sensitive subjects such as racism, police brutality, LGBT, and so on.

A special feature in this particular instalment is the inclusion of a white European family, brought to life by the inclusion of veteran actor Brendan O’Carroll, who plays Madea’s closest likeness, Aunt Agnes.

Like Madea, Aunt Agnes does not give a f**k, and in most parts of the movie, appears to be trying really hard to maintain her cool. Maybe because she’s in a foreign land. If she ever returns in a sequel like we anticipate, expect Madea to meet her perfect match.

“A Madea Homecoming” has got all the perks of a barbershop drama, although Madea’s coven is mostly where everything takes place.

Expectations for Madea movies are never beyond the ordinary; chaos, unfiltered opinions, lots of drama, laughs and plenty laughs, numerous sarcastic lines to pick up, then there’s always one or two words of wisdom and ridiculous parables to learn from Madea herself, and this one delivers on all fronts.

On Monday, 21st February, Wizkid sent waves of excitement within and beyond his fan base, teasing a collaboration with multi award-winning Pop, Jazz, and Indie musician Asa.

Although Wizkid cancelled his tour of Canada due to the corona virus surge and also failed to live up to the date he set for the release of his fifth studio album, which is provisionally titled “More Love Less Ego,” he’s remained active, making guest appearances on several new records.

Renowned filmmaker Steve Gukas (93 days) has announced the upcoming release of new movie titled, ‘Cake’.

Directed by Prosper Edesiri, the romcom follows the story of a talented baker who is caught in a love triangle between two beautiful women.

She took to Instagram to celebrate her dogs, revealing that they brought so much joy and happiness to her hectic life and also the ‘mother in her’.

Wearing matching outfits with them, she wrote; “Happy 1st Birthday to my sons Dúdú and FünFün ��� You both bring some much joy and hapiness to my hectic life!,” she wrote.

Kanye West announced earlier that a sequel to his 2021 album “Donda” which is an eponym of his late mother Donda West, will drop on the 22nd of February. However, Kanye is fond of hanging fire, meaning a release date for “Donda 2” may well be pushed back beyond February 22.

West threw fans off balance on Thursday, February 16, announcing that the forthcoming album in all its glory will not be available on streaming platforms. Rather fans will have to purchase his Stem Player to listen to the project- the device cost $200.

“Donda 2 will only be available on my own platform, the Stem Player. Not on Apple Amazon Spotify or YouTube,” West wrote on Instagram. “Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. The reveal arrived along with a preview of Donda 2 and while it was an exciting announcement, not everyone was happy as the news shocked the public and caused a wide-ranging conversation to unfold. Many people stated they would not be purchasing the $200 Stem Player and blasted West, however, his dedicated fans didn’t mind, arguing that he can release his music as he sees fit.

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has gifted her son, King Andre, a piece of Scotland’s real estate to celebrate his sixth birthday.

The movie star took to her Instagram page on Thursday, February 17, 2022, where she shared photos of her son, his numerous cakes and the document of the newly acquired property.

“Planning your future has been the most important event for me. FOR THIS YEAR I GO, MY BABY, @kingandre_dikeh a piece of SCOTTLAND’s REAL ESTATE and his Deeds came with a TITLE AS ‘LORD’ and a Tree planted in his honor and Name. I am so proud of how far we have come as a team,” she wrote.

Celebrating his day in another post, Dikeh wrote, ““HAPPY BIRTHDAY OBA. No long story, You have me and I have you!! You are loved Thank you Oba for choosing me. You make it all worth it�������� @kingandre_dikeh.”

Andre is Dikeh’s only son with ex-husband Churchill Olakunle.

The couple went their separate ways a year after their son was born, following rumours of infidelity.

Nigerian rapper BlaqBonez has opened up on how his talent was constantly doubted by his family members because of his uncle.

The music star took to Twitter on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, where he reminisced on his Uncle’s failed music career and how it affected him as an artist.

“had an uncle that used to rap, didn’t happen for him, he then got hooked on drugs, from rehab to rehab till he ended up in the village. When I started rapping everyone thought I would end up like that but boy did it turn out soooo different,” he wrote.

“they used to say “i see the spirit of uncle *** inside him” and it used to hurt me soooooo bad, it then built a serious fear and anxiety in me, in everything i did, cos I constantly thought “what if they’re true?”

BlaqBonez recently headlined a debut concert in Lagos which was completely sold out. He had a host of other music stars such as M.I, Buju, Ckay, Bella Shmurda come to sensitize the crowd.

The music star has also announced a new single titled, “Commander” to be released on Friday, the 18th of February.

Kasi Lemmons’ popular biographical film, Harriet will be available on Netflix this March, after three years of initial release.

Based on the inspirational life of iconic American freedom fighter Harriet, the 2019 feature film tells the extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman’s escape from slavery and transformation into one of America’s greatest heroes.

The focus features drama stars Cynthia Erivo, in lead role as Harriet alongside Leslie Odom Jr., Joe Alwyn, Janelle Monae, and Clarke Peters.

Harriet will be available on the streamer from March 4, 2022.
