I hope the senators are not expecting PMB to throw the IGP under the bus now, it's not going to happen anytime soon, not even now that the general elections beckons and he could wield the magic wand like in the previous election. Nigerians may not like the senators, but we should strive to protect the sanctity of that institution. Calling the bluff of the Congressmen by appointed or elected government officials should not be tolerated. IGP is setting a precedence, and it doesn't look like a good one |
Politics apart, every sane Nigerian should demand to know the root of the Senate invasion and mace theft. It's a national embarrassment and reeks of connivance from the highest level. Those who stood down the security of the NASS that day are capable of effecting a coup at Aso Rock. |

They should form nAPC |
It is not unexpected |
When it pleases them, they ignore court orders. But when it goes against them, they run to the same court for protection and expect the other party to obey court orders. Hypocrites is what they are. All of them. |
The game is all about betrayal, treachery, perfidy and backstabbing. Those at the other end will call it emancipation, manumitting, enfrachisement and liberation. The game is called politics. These are bad omens for 2019 general elections and a sad reminder of the infamous OBJ's do or die 2003 general elections. |
Every nation with her own challenges. America's problem may largely be because it wants to be seen to be politically correct most of the time, forgetting that absolute freedom has consequences. The sad reality is that as long as gun possession isn't controlled, such incidences will not seize to happen. Would it be out of place for PMB to send a strong message to Trump that Nigeria would not take the killing of school children in the US kindly any longer? Na play I dey play o. |
I wouldn't know what is obtainable outside Nigeria, but in Nigeria here, the majority of our politicians aren't principled. Who would have thought that Sherif, who just recently was the National Chairman of the main opposition's party would be courting APC ( or be courted by APC as the case may be) No one should be surprised if Fayose, Wike, FFK or Ekweremadu decamp to APC tomorrow, it is always about where their interests are best served. I can only but pity the 'lazy youths' who take side when these politicians fight because of a clash of interests. |
If the video is doctored as being alleged, the IGP and his gang should release the 'undoctored' video without delay. This should put his detractors to shame and save him from further public opprobrium |
I hope the governors have enough buffers to contain what is about to hit them for such a daring move. |
It's unfortunate that this government is about to bungle such a high profile corruption case. Is it that there aren't enough SANs in this administration to guide her on the proper steps to take? I hate it when judgements given by the court based on technicalitites and not on the merit of the case. |
Being a Pastor and a Lawyer seems not to be harmonious. Now having a single person as a Lawyer, a Politician and then a Pastor in Nigeria is perhaps one of wonders of the world. |
At last. This is what is expected of the government ever since. Charge the Shiite man to court and let the court determine his fate. Even though I still expect that the Federal Government will set him free in respect to the court pronunciation and the Kaduna government could Immediately rearrest him to answer to this new charges. The Fed Govt should not be selecting which court orders to obey and which to ignore. Those in power now should be reminded that power is transient. |
Abacha must have looted on behalf of his tenth generations so much that the recovery seems unending since 1999. I thought someone was quoted to have said 'Abacha never stole'. |
If care is not taken, the government might succeed in making terrorists out of these people. where are the human right activists? We may not like the Shiites and some may seriously dislike their leader, but it is our collective responsibility to build an egalitarian society where court orders are obeyed even if given by a drunken judge. Prosecute this man or set him free as ordered by the court. Illegal detention is illegal and we do not know whose turn it could be tomorrow |
There is absolutely no reason to waste public fund in conducting local government elections any further. The governors should just be allowed to handpick Council Chairmen instead of wasting fund to conduct the charade. State Electoral Commissions should be disbanded. |

All of our political leaders need mental evaluation including Sanni himself for being a part of the highest paid legislature in a third world country. |

Even little children in Nursery Schools know it's not appropriate to talk while eating. Someone close to him should check if he has 'water jug' close to him in case he chokes. |
The state governors have rendered the council chairmen impotent. Maybe Local Governments should be scrapped altogether. All of the functions listed above are now exclusive functions of state governors. In Ogun State, not long ago, house numbering was contracted out to private firms by the state govt on the excuse that the LGs lack manpower to carry out such project. Why not empower them? In any case Council Chairmen are always lackeys of the governor who saw to their election/selection in the first instance. |
Oni should be bold enough to name the aspirant in question. This might be the certain aspirant that has already threatened to use all power at his diposal to win the election proper and even jail the incubent. The disgruntled aspirants should approach the courtto further strengthen our democracy . Who knows, the gods that favour Ameachi back then might smile on them too. |
Human beings are at liberty to change their minds and reconsider their stance as events unfold. My only problem with people like Keyamo is that they often masquerade as public activists castigating the government, making noise in the public space, whereas all they covet is an opportunity to be invited on board to partake in the feast. God rest the soul of Gani. |
What else do we expect broom-wielding people to do?. I didn't see the drama |
The elite always use the court to frustrate their prosecutions. The NDLEA should secure their vans very well. Nigerians wouldn't want to hear that another Senator jumps off a moving van. The airlines need not worry, no one would attempt to jump off a flying plane, not even a member of the highest paying Senate in the world. However does Nigeria has the political will to try any US citizen in our court here? Do we have any US citizen in any of our prisons? Has Nigeria ever requested for the extradition of any US citizen? Just being curious. |
One thing about telling a lie is that you might need to keep lying so as to cover up the initial lie. Sometimes I feel like castigating Remo but when I realise that there isn't anything Remo is doing now that Lai has not done in multiple folds before, I just sigh. |
If Dino has done the crime, he should be able to do the time irrespective of his health status. But if this is persecution, those pulling the strings should know that power is transient |
Definitely no one should be seen to be above the law. Former Egyptian President was once wheeled to court on a stretcher. I just hope the police will maintain this same standard when some other persons are indicted. |
I ordinarilly wouldn't care about what politicians do to themselves. It's a dog eat dog situation. What I find distasteful is the abuse and misuse of state machineries. The police might eventually sway Kogi people's sympathy towards Dino as it may appear to them that he's being unjustly persecuted. The good thing however is that precedence is being set and I hope when the table turns, those that will be affected will take it in good faith. |
I used to think some people are untouchable but recent events have shown otherwise. In as much as one wouldn't support tyranny, oppression and victimization, Wike and his co-travellers should desist from threatening the nation or see themselves as being above the law. If he erred, he should be assured that he will be 'touched' and Nigeria wouldn't burn. |
Trump is obviously much more concerned about America's interest than anything else. It might occur to him that dabbling into IPOB's matter might jeopardise his economic interest. The lesson is that no indigenous group should bank on the support of any foreign power because when the chips are down, they will always protect their interests first. |
