Why courting unnecessary controversy? Simply say the increase in fare was necessary for proper maintenance of the system and not because some 'rich' people now patronize the railway. What happens when these new 'rich' customers stop patronizing the railways? Would there be a decrease in fare? Mr. Minister, the real rich people travel in the skies. |
Discredit? What if he's guilty as alleged? |
This obviously can't be true. Haba! |
Has he been arrested already? The Nigeria Police shouldn't have declared him wanted when they know they lacked the balls to get him arrested. Someday the script being played will get to the last episode. My sympathy with the people of Kogi who are already the pawns in this Chess game. |
There's hardly anything left for which Lai and his band fiercely opposed, attacked and ridiculed the last administration for that this present government hasn't done over and over again. Subsidy removal, pump price hike, assest declaration, medical tourism, negotiation with BH etc If that isn't hypocrisy and two - facedness, then I don't know what to call it. |
Massive: very large and heavy : large in amount or degree : very severe |
Something must be fundamentally wrong with a system that turns a hitherto hero to a villain overnight. PMB came in with the posture of a Messiah about three years ago, just look at what he's turned now. Jonathan had all the goodwill in 2011 and he frittered all of those away before 2015 so much that he was sent packing. OBJ also came in in 1999 with so much hope for a better Nigeria and posterity can judge if he truly placed Nigeria on the right pedestal with his do or die politics. Again, something is fundamentally wrong with the system and structure we operate and until we evaluate it, we might just be dancing around a circle. NB: OBJ and his band of hawks who bled Nigeria to it's current position should even be ashamed to criticize another morally deficient government. |
Almost all states have borrowed to their limits and yet we have not seen a commensurate result. Now the FG would not stop borrowing, to do what exactly? Where are the impacts of the earlier loans? I won't be surprised if PMB isn't in the know of this fresh loan request |
Good to know. The onus of proove is on the one who alleges. Why not simply sue the Minister or whoever orchestrated the list for libel and claim damages in excess of the 7 billion naira. Seems like a cool way to make cheap money |
A joke I presume because I doubt if Kanu possesses the charisma, allure, and duende to captivate the electorates He must have been buoyed by Weah's victory in Liberia. But Papillo should know that circumstances are different in the two nations. Let him not allow the hawks to feed on his hard earned money |
Is Mantu's self-confessed offence not punishable by the electoral act as at the time the rigging was done? Why is he not quizzed already by the relevant law enforcement agent? Who knows, he might have more to divulge As for the APC's ' hollier than thou' posture, Nigerians know better. |
I hope government would have the balls to prosecute the major offenders who are mostly religious houses. Who will also arrest the police and even government officials that constantly blow sirens to scare away other road users? The roadside audio disc merchants as well as baby drivers honking unnecessarilly should also be sanctioned. I hope sanity wld return to all our cities in general and not just Edo |
Granted that Joshua hails from Ogun State, but in this instance, his fight against Parker isn't a National Assignment and neither did he fight on behalf of Ogun State. What then is the justification for the Governor wasting the state's scarce resources in raising a delegation to go and cheer an athlete doing private business up? The Governor should have gone as a private citizen in solidarity with his compatriot and fellow Ogun indigene. But trust Nigerian politicians, it is going to be a state sponsored trip and estacodes would be claimed. Congratulations, Mr Joshua. |
Is Shehu Sanni still in APC? |
If Buhari falls, then it is due to his own failure and those of his handlers He enjoyed so much goodwill at the start of his administration and now he has frittered it away with his seemingly indecisiveness. Tell me a single things for which the last administration was castigated that this administration hasn't also done. If he falls, it would be because he has not met the expectations of Nigerians and not because of some self acclaimed 'owners' of Nigeria |
Most of our elected leaders are often wasteful and bereft of quality ideas. What’s with this shameful trend of empowering the youths with tricyles and motorcycles? Why not quality skill acquisition or loan for SMEs.as being done in Lagos? The SUV for the traditional rulers is either a 'thank you' for a job well done or to wet the ground for anticipated favour in 2019. Is there any economic value these traditional rulers bring to the table that warrants spending so hugely to maintain them? The 40000 'farmers' may not be too exergerared though but the beneficiaries are going to be populated by party faithfuls who may not even have a plot of farmland anywhere. If the State's House of Assembly members are not docile and bought like in most other states , questions should be asked |
Is the right to self defense not guaranteed again? If the government could raise an army to combat cattle rustling, why appear helpless in combating herders' violence To worsen the situation, the security agents have been fingered to be complicit and tactically supporting the marauders. Who then do they run to for safety? What then do you expect the hapless people already pushed to the wall to do? Definitely not to continue to submit themselves to be slaughtered by the rampaging herders. The message is loud and resonating across the country. A monarch just made similar call in Kaduna. I hope the government act decisively real soon before the entire situation gets messier and out of control |
It is his inalienable right to contest for any position as long as he is qualified. Just as we reserve the right to reject or vote for him. |
FFK's penchant for foul language is condemnable though Saint Ameachi can do no wrong no more. All his previous misdeeds have been washed away. |
And the drama continues. I still don't understand how the police allowed itself to be enmeshed in the ego tussle between the two baby adults in the state My heartfelt sympathy to th e people of that state. |
It is what it is - a joke taken too far. Reputable brands should not get soiled in politics. |
Sleezwizz:OK. Thanks. In any case, was that adhered to? I mean are those companies now exempted from paying power bills until they get the prepaid meters? |
Estimated billing system is a fraud, thievery and exploitation of the masses. Didn't the Minister of Power directed sometimes ago that properties without prepaid meters shouldn't pay power bills any longer? Sadly, government will look the other way because the companies are owned by their cronies. We are a docile people. |
The omnious signs are there. Hence the reason for the Tinubu's Reconciliatory Committee. The fear of shattering the weak bond holding the different interests and factions of the party is why the party is yet to hold hold her National Congress.. |
That statement could have dealt a great blow to religion and the adherents altogether The fear of HELL (whether real or not) still keep people in check, to some extent. |
alanka:I've been trying to fathom how this has got anything to do with the Institution. I'll advise that you device other means to get your entitlement from him without necessarily violating the law. Think twice |
PDP - six APC - half a dozen Same players, same game, different teams. |
Oyegun's tenure elongation seems like a dangerous land mine on the path of PMB's reelection. |
The President is the defacto leader of the party. Th is is an aberration. I wish our democracy is as functional as that of South Africa where party supremacy sees to the ouster of Zuma |
As a mere mortal that he is, he's entitled to a medical leave. However, there has to be a stop to medical tourism by elected government officials. I really do not subscribe to the idea of the head of government of a sovereign nation seeking medical help in another man's land. Isn't that shameful? If I were PMB, I'll break banks to replicate the facilities in those nations at the National Hospital. |
So RMAFC can eventually come out to reveal Senator's earnings after much hide and seek. Thanks to Sanni. However, we already know that the thievery isn't in their salaries as captured by RAMFC but in the other obnoxious allowances only known and stealthily guarded by the management of the National Assembly. Same way a governor once revealed his monthly salaries but cleverly left out the security votes, estacodes and other sundry allowances. Why the Labour Unions and Civil Societies are yet to picket the NASS worries me. |
aribisala0:A cargo airport sould be alright for now. |
