Religion / Re: What Almost Broke Your Faith In GOD And How You Overcame It? by Lifepodcastng: 5:40am On Mar 16, 2021
The mistake you keep making is equating your father to GOD. That’s one mistake too costly. There are always people who don’t think holistically, all they think is what they can get now. This is the problem of life and this is according to what you’re doing now. Yes certain things will take you away. The fact that you don’t even know when GOD has answered your prayer is one. You focus on what you’ve asked for without asking for what can benefit your soul. How would I know what you asked for will take you away? But I can see it’ll certainly take you away from the stance you’ve taken. I hope you get back solidly on the path of life man. This shouldn’t take long

Offpoint1:

Your answers is no difference from what every pastor, preacher, evangelist gave. The idea of me asking unrealistic things is laughable, I'm not a baby to asked for irrelevance things. If I do a legit work and not an illegal work and get results there's nothing EVIL ABOUT.
what are the things that will lead me away from the path of righteousness? You have no idea of what I asked for, things don't take away my conscience, so the excuse of "If given I might be lead away" is baseless.

I didn't declare myself a God, I simply work towards my needs instead of asking for it.
If you asked your father as a wealthy man for your first semester school fees and he refused, you failed your exams due to your inability to pay your fee. The same thing happens 2nd semester, his excuses are "it's not the right time to pay your school fee"... you decide not to ask him anymore, you hustle for your own money and pay your fee.... What crime have you committed against him?
Religion / Re: What Almost Broke Your Faith In GOD And How You Overcame It? by Lifepodcastng: 9:39am On Mar 15, 2021
I honestly do not mistake you for an atheist, I just think you might be a lil off the line and likely to fall if you don’t put your self back in the faith. God didn’t make us to be our own gods. Being gods is the decision mankind made in the inception. Everyone must be tested to reveal their true nature just as job was tested to reveal his true nature. Don’t think bc you’re getting the result means you’re on the right path. Not every result is positive, the evil minded person sees a negative result as positive too. Now before you’ll question why you think God hasn’t answered your prayers, you must first ask yourself what kinda leaguers have you been praying? Do you pray realistically or do you pray unrealistically? Some pray for money, others pray for car while others pray for even more ephemeral things, do you understand those are man made things and only man can give himself that? God gives you something more precious than that. God cares more about your soul than he cares about your body so you have to factor that every time you await your answers. Are those things going to lead you away from the path of life? If yes, why then should God give you? Just imagine now, you’ve been stepping away and falling away from reality bc you think you’ve been getting answers, what if this is why God didn’t answer in the first place bc you’ll fall away? Still you thought God didn’t do right by you and became your own god, creating a subjective reality where you can do no wrong so now you’re bending the rules to suit this subjective reality by stating that God made you to be god. This is not so bro. Find your path back to life, start seeing life more holistically and not target reality on your limited perception. We all have limited perception of the reality so we must always factor that into our existence.

Offpoint1:
Too many unanswered prayers, I quit praying and start working more, building myself more, learning more skills and I start getting results and I say what's the point? Everything you prayed for doesn't happen until you work for it... then what's the point of the prayers? If I asked my earthly father's stuffs and he continuously doesn't give me until I work for it, what's the point of asking? let me start working for it since it's more effective than asking for it.

There are too many things we don't want to speak up both Christians and Muslims because we're too afraid of the hell threats... 50% of humans are serving God out of fear of hell, the rest 50% are serving God out of personal greed which is promised of heaven.

If you're down at accident scene with injuries, no amount of prayers will save you if you're not taking to hospital for medical attention
In sickness it's still the same
In needs your fellow humans will be at your mercy when you speak up or when they noticed the signs.

Maybe the Brain behind our existence Left us to our own faith,
Maybe he made us to be our own gods by having each others backs.

I've gotten to the stage I'm no longer afraid to ask questions, I've stopped buying that "you can't question God" lines pastors and preachers had been giving me... I've stopped buying "the portal and clay" analogy. Clay doesn't complain about how the portal mould it because it's an inanimate object with no consciousness... Don't expect me to be like that.

Don't mistake me for an atheist

You’re like the only reasonable comment on this thread. There’s too much darkness and negativity in the mind of most people on this nairaland and this is why they never think with a sound mind. That girl was overwhelm with joy; the excitement become too much for her to bear plus the shouts. She needs to be taken home sedated and allowed to rest. Everyone will certainly act awkwardly when they experience something for this first time but when joy becomes overwhelming, most people will becomes something else. Some people will develop an instant disgust and reject the ring, some will cry profusely for days etc. all this are just reaction to an excess of joy. People should understand little things like this about the human body. Not everything has to do with village people or whatever nonsense they say. First time someone bought me a birthday gift, I was overjoyous to the point that I didn’t not understand what I was doing for a while. Many people have not been tested emotionally so they don’t know anything about themselves. I hope this subsides and doesn’t make the boyfriend goes back on his proposal. If this was anything to go by, then no body should still be married to a woman who develops some form of maladies during pregnancy alone

I’m angered by this arrest. I really do not like it when the Nigerian police do nothing when we need them and do everything when we don’t need? I wonder why they couldn’t wait just one or two days before arresting this guy. Nigga wanted to show us that he could raise the dead so we could wonder why people have been dying in his family and why there’s any death at all but this people spoilt the show. This is unfair. I was really looking forward to analyzing the videos and enjoy the show of charade but now police has spoilt the show. What a spoiler agency. Just arrest this man on 29th you won’t hear. Must you do it on 27? I feel like the police is involved in all this. The date looks sinister. Why arrest him before his show? Why can’t you arrest him after? Now he’ll blame the police for his inability to raise the dead. What a spoiler agency

Look into the Bible to find that what you know about the devil is not biblical, how then do you know this things? Religion. Religion has cooked a story to you such that you do not actually understand what’s in the Bible. It was never said that was before the beginning. It was never said that the what was recreated at any point but after the resurrection. I just do not know where you get all this stories other than religions jargons

Fredmatic:

U see urself na, u have failed woefly, I new that is where u will quote. That is a future battle that will occur at the right time

Besides I put Adam and Eve in brackets to explain, common sense would know that it was eve the temp came to, but u stylishly pic Adam and quote me to make it look I don't know what I am saying.
I don't have strength for argument, thanks for your time
Science/Technology / Re: Astronomers Now Agree Universe Is Nearly 14 Billion Years Old by Lifepodcastng: 6:48am On Jan 12, 2021
Go and read the Bible again, you’ll see that when the dragon was thrown down, the angels and the host of heaven celebrated bc salvation will come for man. this should tell you when it happened. Also, it was never said in the Bible that it was Satan who tempted Adam.
Lastly, I have not called you names but only asked for biblical references

Fredmatic:

Simple question tell me when the war in heaven took place between God and Satan and was troll down from heaven in the Bible, let start from there( remember he was in the garden of Eden to temp Adam and Eve immediately after creation). If you know u can't answer it then don't mention me again, I don't have time to be arguing with u

What u don't know u abuse and call names

I do not think you’ve been reading the Bible. What you know is just some religious story. Show me where it says that the devil was before the beginning. Show me where it says that the devil is an angel that got sent down from heaven. Show me where it says that the devil was in heaven. I have a lot to tell you but I can’t type. I wish you’d read your Bible and not speak to me from some story forced into your consciousness

Read the Bible again pls. I do not think you have read it well enough. Mathew 4:1-11 with emphasis on verse 3

admissionrunz:

Yes there's a place in the Bible that shows Satan has some sorts of power.

Remember when he tried to tempt Jesus?
He turned stone to bread.
Science/Technology / Re: Astronomers Now Agree Universe Is Nearly 14 Billion Years Old by Lifepodcastng: 11:07am On Jan 06, 2021
I believe you may be right to some extent and then some of your thoughts are not biblical. First of all, Satan did not exist before the beginning less Satan will be before even the Christ of GOD. Only GOD existed before the beginning and out of GOD came his light which is his Christ and our savior. Also there’s no place in the Bible where we can see that Satan has some sort of power that’s attributed to him in religion. So this your theory needs reshapening

Fredmatic:
Yeah, agreed

The world existed before the actual Bible account creation. After the distrution of Earth caused by Satan , God then recreate the Earth again in the account of Genesis. This detail where not recorded but there are clues in the Bible.

For a start; There are years of gap between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2

Those who are lead by the spirit understand this things if u don't I am sorry.
Over time science is now coming to agreement with the bible

Is it also by chance that you’ve replied? See forget that notion of chance. If you do not know a reason for something, search through and you’ll find it. It’s mental laziness that make people sag chance or luck

HellVictorinho:

You're wrong.
Religion / Re: Why Do You Still Believe In God, by Lifepodcastng: 6:55am On Dec 23, 2020
That’s foolishness. You were just born and you’ll just die. That’s like what a 2years old child will say. You were born bc your parents had a connection and they involuntarily or voluntarily had sex and God blessed them with you. You’ll die bc you’ve been eating things and they pile up in your system. Also you die bc you have no more time attached to your existence. Stop living in ignorance nothing just happens, if it were so, why don’t you just die right now by chance but no you can’t, you still have time attached to you or you haven’t entered into a bus driven by a drunk reckless driver. It’s babalawo and Diviners that believe in chance. No sensible and rational thinking individual should believe that. Nothing happens by accident, everything has a reason. Even this message you’re reading right now has a reason. Stop living below standards thinking it’ll just happen, know why it happens.

HellVictorinho:

Pure nonsense!!!!!!!
You get exposed to bla bla bla by chance!!!!!!
In other words, these things just happen!!!!
You were just born and you will just die!!!!!!!
Religion / Re: Why Do You Still Believe In God, by Lifepodcastng: 3:11pm On Dec 22, 2020
The third law of motion counters every nonsensical idea like chance. For every action that happens in the world, there’s a reason. Some are within our knowledge while others are above us. It’s sheer ignorance that makes us say some things are chance. Just imagine if someone gets to know that he has cancer today, they’ll say it’s luck. What nonsense luck is that? When that person had been eating the wrong things did they say he ate by luck? Or when they’ve been staying around strong rays, did they say it’s chance. You and babalawo are the same, you think alike. You should grow pass this ignorance. There’s nothing like chance in reality. Everything has a reason. You should endeavor to know the reasons for certain things

HellVictorinho:

It's something worse than ignorance that makes you say there's nothing like chance.
Besides, how does the third law of motion apply to what I'm saying
Religion / Re: Why Do You Still Believe In God, by Lifepodcastng: 2:32am On Dec 22, 2020
Chance? Oh I see. You and babalawo are the same then bc there’s really nothing like chance. Everything has a reason. Third law of motion. For every action there’s a reaction. Saying there’s something called chance is to say you have a reaction with no action. That’s meaningless. Whatever has no reason for existence is pointless in reality. I think Nigeria has turned you into a vegetative Being. People thinking it’s luck that’s making them suffer. Baba calm yourself down and learn what life is. There’s nothing like chance. It’s ignorance that makes mankind say something is chance. When you do not know the reason for something you’ll say it’s change or luck.

HellVictorinho:

Life also involves events that happen by chance.

Yes I have read the messages of Mohammed, I have also read the messages of Buddha, I’m a good follower of other teachings, yet I know Christ is all of life. I do not mix truth with lies. Yes the Bible is written in double entendres and the fact that you said ‘any religion can claim their book is written with double entendres’ means you lack the understanding of the Bible. You need to read it again, calm yourself down and throw away this sense of knowledge you think you have bc you know actually nothing. You should start with Genesis chapter one. And ask God to reveal the mystery of the book to you. Do you know the Bible talks about relativity of time? Do you know that the sun does not country time? Do you know that you’ve never seen darkness bc there’s always light everytime you have lived? Do you know there’s no such thing as tomorrow? All these are just some of the many things in the Bible. You’re very informed and that’s just a part of it. Information without knowledge is as useless as when a person is not informed. You need to calm your nerves down and learn what life is about. I have not asked you to be religious or attend some creepy church. I have only asked you to sit yourself down, throw away whatever pride or ego that you have and learn what the Bible is saying. See for yourself that the message are intact. Christ was passing a lot of information. The fact that you say there’s nothing special about it shows how ignorant of the truth of life you’re. Learn life and become above all this gimmicks you think you know

Hakeem12:
bro, there's nothing special about the message of Christ. I have read the bible back to back and the absurdity it contains is baffling, now let me ask you, any other religion can also claim their books are written in double entendres, proves nothing. Do you know the message of Muhammed? Every religion has a Messiah claiming a message, no prove that any of them is the way. Indoctrination will make one believe ones book holds a special message over the rest. Good night.
Religion / Re: Why Do You Still Believe In God, by Lifepodcastng: 8:43pm On Dec 21, 2020
Fools always think they’re wise. This is why they remain foolish. Ignorant people always think they have knowledge this is why they’re arrogant to knowledge. What is the change? Do you think the world has changed? The world has become deluded and it’s a pity that reckless individuals like yourself have been allowed to speak enticing things to other ignorant people of your kind. The funny thing about life is when some people taste some information, they think they’ve now know the truth, not realizing their delusion in reality. There’s a change obviously but you’re blind so you can’t see it. You’re just one pawn in the game of life. Your mind has been taken over, you’ve lost yourself to the forces of the world. This is why you do not think beyond your nose. You go around thinking others are the fool but you’re exactly the person you think they’re. I hope you realize someday that you’re lost and find your way back to your source. He’s always available to receive you as long as there’s time

kkins25:
The brain is a very tricky organ, when faced with a problem- rather than burn calories which are expensive, it rather finds another delusion and perfectly incorporate it into the previous belief system to escape the dilemma or the strains of the thinking phenomena. I hope someday, the majority(where you belong) would find the strength to command their brains to accept change and bear the terrific work of thinking.
Religion / Re: Why Do You Still Believe In God, by Lifepodcastng: 8:31pm On Dec 21, 2020
I hope you know I’m as informed on all of this as you’re. These does not answer the question. Does any of this invalidates the message of Christ? Your account is just centered on what the pagan Romans did, you didn’t even mention what Christ did. This is bc you do not yet realize that. Have you truly read the Bible? Do you know it’s purely written in double entendres? Have you asked why it’s so? If you want to send a message and you need a foolish thief to take that message to the receive so you’ll write in double entendres. The thief will surely steal but he’ll only get a meaning bc of his foolishness but the receivers of the message will get another meaning. We know the romans are thieves, Rome was a group of outcast who found a way to gather themselves and they had gone around in the world, stealing and killing. They’re lunatics; this is evident in the fact that only a lunatic steals another person's history. They had done it to many people and did it also to the people of judea and Jerusalem. I’m very aware of all this even till the times of atila the Huns and I can tell you how all of it connect with Islamic uprising. My questions are: have you truly read the Bible to learn? Do you think God wasn’t aware of this? Do you think he hadn’t made preparations for all that? Do not let religion cost you an opportunity for a great realization. Look into the books and you’ll see that it’s intact even after all this nonsense the Romans have done.

Hakeem12:
Jesus Christ was a historical figure of staggering influence, perhaps the most enigmatic and inspirational leader the world has ever seen. As the prophesied Messiah, Jesus toppled kings, inspired millions, and founded new philosophies. As a descendant of the lines of King Solomon and King David, Jesus possessed a rightful claim to the throne of the King of the Jews. Understandably, His life was recorded by thousands of followers across the land.

More than eighty gospels were considered for the New Testament, and yet only a relative few were chosen for inclusion—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John among them.

The fundamental irony of Christianity. The Bible, as we know it today, was collated by the pagan Roman emperor Constantine the Great

He was a lifelong pagan who was baptized on his deathbed, too weak to protest. In Constantine's day, Rome's official religion was sun worship—the cult of Sol Invictus, or the Invincible Sun—and Constantine was its head priest. Unfortunately for him, a growing religious turmoil was gripping Rome.

Three centuries after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Christ's followers had multiplied exponentially. Christians and pagans began warring, and the conflict grew to such proportions that it threatened to rend Rome in two. Constantine decided something had to be done. In 325 A.D., he decided to unify Rome under a single religion. Christianity.

Constantine was a very good businessman. He could see that Christianity was on the rise, and he simply backed the winning horse. Historians still marvel at the brilliance with which Constantine converted the sun-worshipping pagans to Christianity. By fusing pagan symbols, dates, and rituals into the growing Christian tradition, he created a kind of hybrid religion that was acceptable to both parties.

Transmogrification; The vestiges of pagan religion in Christian symbology are undeniable. Egyptian sun disks became the halos of Catholic saints. Pictograms of Isis nursing her miraculously conceived son Horus became the blueprint for our modern images of the Virgin Mary nursing Baby Jesus. And virtually all the elements of the Catholic ritual—the miter, the altar, the doxology, and communion, the act of "God-eating"—were taken directly from earlier pagan mystery religions.

Christianity honored the Jewish Sabbath of Saturday, but Constantine shifted it to coincide with the pagan's veneration day of the sun. To this day, most churchgoers attend services on Sunday morning with no idea that they are there on account of the pagan sun god's weekly tribute—Sunday.

My good sir, this is where the council of niccea comes in. At this gathering, many aspects of Christianity were debated and voted upon—the date of Easter, the role of the bishops, the administration of sacraments.
Religion / Re: Why Do Atheist Believe There Is No God? by Lifepodcastng: 4:32pm On Dec 21, 2020
I like your own kinda atheist. Would you care to follow me on Twitter? Maybe I can share some of my work with you

LordReed:

First thing you need to understand is what the definition of atheism is. In simple terms, atheism is the rejection of belief in any gods. Once you understand this, the next thing to know is there are different subsets of atheists. Some atheists do indeed say there are no gods while some atheists say they don't know if any exists. Still other atheists say the concept of a god is a meaningless term and so cannot even be resolved. This leads to a situation where you simply cannot lump all atheists into one subset if you are not addressing the main premise. You make that mistake by saying atheists say there is no god. This is an over generalisation that cannot go unchallenged.

I for one do not know if any gods exists because to me we have not explored enough of our universe to be able to conclude that no gods exist. However I do not believe in any gods anyway since none have been evidenced sufficiently to ascribe any of the many attributes that are usually granted to these gods.
Religion / Re: Why Do Atheist Believe There Is No God? by Lifepodcastng: 4:27pm On Dec 21, 2020
This is true. I have engaged a few of them. They’re mostly religious people who have now become informed on another level yet still ignorant in reality. They are actually weak minded people who can’t take pain or the loss of a loved one. One particular one lost a limb and he’s still bitter bc he wanted God to grow a new limb for him. I feel sad for them though, I know they’re just lost souls who wants answers. This is why I have written a book for them, I hope many of them are able to think beyond their present situation. Truth be told they’re usually more sound minded than religious people. Religious people are also ignorant in reality but never want to talk about their believe. I prefer to engage atheist bc they never block you even though they’re too blind to see their own ignorance. I just pray Christ saves as many as he would both the religious ones and the atheists

I like that you’re informed. It’s not a lie that the verses of the Bible were debated and some of the actual verses were removed and some words changed to suit the political or psychomental manipulative need of the ruling class. I know this and I’m aware of certain places of the Bible where there might have been some change. Now here’s my question: if God is aware of these changes, do you think he might find a way to still pass the information in the Bible still? Have you wondered why there are four Gospels in the Bible lastly does these changes invalidate the life of Jesus or his purpose. Sometimes I think we shouldn’t be wise in our own eyes, let’s humble ourselves and maybe we might see. Do you also know that if God is aware of these changes then all that changes becomes invalidated? Lastly, have you really read the Bible to understand its words?

Hakeem12:
So you believe Adam and Eve populated the whole planet? That all the races of the earth came from them? And that despite all that, god decided to stick to a specific race and call them his people? My dad is a Muslim, an Islamic scholar, and my mum a christian, a Catholic. I've had a taste of both worlds, went to a Catholic boarding school and also Islamic school.

Do you even know the verses in the bible were voted to be put there? That all the stories in the bible were modelled after ancient religions before it. Your pastors know this. The rich ones are in business, the poor ones still believe their delusions. See, there's a lot to say and so little time. But the first path to sanity is asking questions.

Mr gadodoko, throughout history, there are two forces that have always been at war with each other. That’s true people change, but no good person changes to evil without a reason. I was not lucky to have mine, GOD opened my eyes to see what was before me. That said, you do not love or care for people for who they’re, you do that for who you’re. If your love and care for someone is based on who they’re then you’re most likely going to get hurt but if that’s bc of who you’re then you can grow even better until GOD crowns your efforts. Do you think I just arrived at where I am out of no where? Do you think I haven’t had a fair share of bad people in my life? See the fact that you’re facing something presently does not mean others have not faced it or will not face it. People are generally good, everyone was made good. Our environment is what corrupts us, when people like chimamander keep talking then the society is going to come up with deluded and vicious women. I see the good in people. No matter who they’re, I still try to help them become better versions of themselves. That’s how I’m with whoever I’m with. When you help people become better versions of themselves, you too will become better of yourself. That’s life bro. It’s in giving you receive. This is the mystery of life. Bros, people change. You're lucky with your partner doesn't mean others are. People pretend a lot... Some people behave the way they do because of their upbringing, environment and situation they find themselves.
And there's one thing I'll point out to men here. Whether you lots like it or not, people(especially Nigerian women y'all hate) will get married. And it's men like you that will still marry them. So what's the noise For? "Nigerian ladies are good diggers o, they are this and that..." now tell me, who keeps getting married to them every weekend? Your guess us as good as mine...let's hear word abeg.

If the violence is 50/50 then why do people like Chimamander always sell a narrative that violence happen more to women? It’s sickening to hear people like her be the voice of women. If all women think like that women then certain men like myself will never have to marry. Comments like hers are worrisome, it does even make young women harness their potentials bc they already have it at the back of her head that the society is violent against them. This is not true. The fact that a particular woman was broken by her own experience doesn’t make it a women thing. It’s her problem and she has to deal with it. There are very strong women out there. I’m in relationship with one. I have learnt so much from her than I have done with friends and parent. I have never heard her talk about inequalities or something of such. Some days she cries about things at work then I remind her she’s a lion and other says she comes home telling me how fierce she was as a lion. Life should be about that. People should recognize their strength and pick partners that help them become stronger. When you choose bc of money or beauty then you have to suffer alone and stop making noise about weakness

Some men here will just keep contradicting themselves. You frown and bring down the roof if a woman refuses to pay her bills or split bills with you. Then, when you hear or read about equality, u want to faint. I don't understand most of you. Reasons why a smart woman will no longer wait for a man to pay her bills or depend entirely on a man. This life is live and let's Live. Being independent is not feminism but the fact that most ladies are able to stand on their own and do things for themselves is enough to annoy the hell out of a typical Nigerian man. Wetin be una problem sef?
As for the violence stuff, it happens both ways. 50-50. Human being too wicked abeg...

Well I guess this narrative sells better. Personally, I do not seek weakness in women. Only a weak woman will think women are disadvantaged. Women are built stronger in every ramifications. I just think those who think women are week center only on the body structure and nothing on the mental buildup. I hate to see posts like this, they’re demeaning to the prospect of a strong society.

kalu61:

Exactly, when pointing fingers to men when we need collective effort to protect the weaker gender instead of forming superwoman.

Most maid are abused by women.
Most children are abused by house mate

Most men suffer emotionally and domestic abuse from their wife but will absorb it not to be seen as weak but when it's a woman, she will shout to high heavens even at issue that she might be the culprit.

This shouldn't be a gender based issue but a collective effort address.

This comment is not wise. Barbarians settle matters like this. Plus what happens when she plays along and actually falls in love with the new person? Who then becomes the loser? Matters of emotions needs wisdom and this is why you need not dabble in them pls

CamusMidas:

Tell her make she play along, then catch am pants down and deal with him.
