First thing you need to understand is what the definition of atheism is. In simple terms, atheism is the rejection of belief in any gods. Once you understand this, the next thing to know is there are different subsets of atheists. Some atheists do indeed say there are no gods while some atheists say they don't know if any exists. This is true. I have engaged a few of them. They’re mostly religious people who have now become informed on another level yet still ignorant in reality.
