When will the Christians shut up and quit playing victim cards?

I don't even know where exactly to start from, as the issue is so pressing.
I have a brother who is 38 years old now but his behaviours seem to be too inferior to that of a normal under 18 guy. Almost everyone in our family (nuclear) seems to have had enough of his foolish & childish attitudes. As Yoruba adage would say, “Ọmọ ẹni kì í burú títí, ká fi fún ẹkùn pajẹ ” – “One’s child cannot be bad to the extent of throwing him/her to the Leopard to devour”. They now let him be; only praying to God for divine & better transformation. Listed below are some things about him:

1. He is still living with our mother in a house which was built by our elder brother. Although the owner does not live there. He was living at his rented place before the completion of the building & he turned a deaf ear to every advice given to stop him from moving into the house. We all know he'd become more lazy if he does not have to pay for rent any longer.

2. He does not take his job (panel beating) so serious at all. This brother could be so funny; as he would prefer staying home & watching TV shows whenever there's light. On his way to shop, he would sometimes return home if he hears "Up Nepa". He gives customers different excuses on phone.

3. People regret helping him to secure any job as his attitude towards the job would look as if you are only forcing the job on him. I think one's commitment to the work helps to keep the job. How do people help you to keep your job?

4. He has no plan for marriage at all. Well, I have started pitying his future wife because he's not disciplined at all. None of my sisters prays to have his like as a husband. I strongly pray he changes for better before getting married.

5. His eating habit is so disgusting. He lacks table manner too much. Imagine a person of that age licking a leaf after unwrapping moimoi. Does being an artisan take manners away? No

6. He loves attending parties. He's the only one, among the siblings, who loves social life beyond normal. He has no savings. Some of his friends are also sick of his unruly attitudes to work. I know many of his friends (co-artisans) who have made it from same work.

Just to mention few,,,,
They have seated him down & talked sense into his ears but he would not heed.
And to himself, he's so wise. What grieves me so much is that he does not seem regretful at all. Apart from people who do not really know him, I think he only has my respect as my elder brother. Please,,,, how do we save him from self-destructive habits?

This is coming after a twin bomb blast blamed on Boko Haram killed scores of people at a worship center and at a market in Mubi Adamawa few days ago.

CAN is playing a dangerous game of politics with religion; we all know that no one is currently being killed because of their faith, in fact more Muslims are being killed than Christians; therefore giving the ongoing crisis a religious colouration is potentially explosive likely to further divide Nigerians along the usual fault lines - before we know it , we could easily revert back to those unfortunate days of religious intolerance and rioting.

Bro, I don't think the Benue people mentioned in the write up, actually spoke for each and every child of Benue State when they condemned IPOB. Neither do I think every Benue person including those killed in these attacks, fought for or supported killing of Igbos during the civil war. Many people including some Nairaland commentators were not even born during the war. As of today, we have Igbos who have married people from Benue and other States and vice versa. While I agree with you that we can't just wish away the past, it is good that more people and groups are realizing that we are collective victims of people carrying out war crimes, genocide and ethnic cleansing. Beyond internet rhetoric, the new-found understanding should foster collective angst, oneness amongst the oppressed groups, mobilization to register and/or collect our PVCs and do the needful at the polls. It is unfortunate that many people including some online commentators do not have PVC and some who have, have no intention of voting! The National Economic Council on Thursday recommended a ban on the movement of herdsmen across the country as a way of stopping the killings being witnessed in parts of Nigeria .
This is expected to start in the five states where the killings are most pronounced - Benue , Taraba , Adamawa , Kaduna and Plateau .

The NEC chaired by the Vice- President has all state governors , the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and relevant ministers as members .
Ebonyi State Governor , Dave Umahi disclosed the outcome of the meeting presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo to State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa , Abuja .
Umahi said ranching would be adopted in the five states , while the state governments would provide lands for that purpose .

He said the decision was taken after he submitted the report of a technical committee on farmers and herdsmen conflicts which he chaired to the council .
The governor said the committee identified causes of the conflicts to include media perception, competition for scarce resources and banditry through cattle rustling and kidnapping among others .

He said , “In all , we agreed that movement is not profitable to the herdsmen because they value the milk from the cow even more than the cow itself .
“So , movement is not healthy for the cows as it dries up the meat and give less than two litres of milk per cow per day .

“So , we condemn the issues of foreign invasion by foreign herdsmen and l am happy that the FG is doing something about it.
“We also agreed that these movements have to stop and occasionally by those who have settled and integrated from other parts of the country like the middle belt , they sometimes go into conflicts with farmers.
“So , in all we agreed that there is a more profitable and modern way of raising these cows which is by ranching . So , we have agreed that the states involved are going to give lands . Niger and Kaduna have given lands and Plateau is also giving land .
“Ranching in being practised in Mambila in Taraba Dtate and they have success stories with regards to that .”
