frubben: the op is not the problem here, he just told u guys that they have being together for 2years before marrige. Meaning the girl knows about his anger issues so that's not a problem for her because she went ahead to marry him. Now the problem I why the girl dey vex yyamayama vex now after she Don marry. Dis somebody that u tay with for 2years with the anger issues and even born for am now she want to dey say she cannot cope. Another guyy Don enter matter lock up.m It's true they are suppose to have fully familiarize themselves & adapted to each other's personal traits at this point. However, there's still nothing bad in requesting a partner to do away with a bad trait. They both have every right to be angry with each other's behaviour as a couple. But they need to learn how to always reach a compromise after any disagreement between them. These issues do happen in marriage a lot. What matters is how the spouses handle their misunderstandings with love & wisdom. So @Op needs to work things out with his wife please. |
Family › Re: Married Last Week, Already Set For Divorce. Help A Nairalander Make A Decision by limamintruth: 8:36pm On Apr 25, 2017 |
My sincere advice is that you work on your temper @OP. From your story, it is obvious you are quick to anger, which is capable of destroying any marriage.
The first problem you raised was entirely the fault of your wife's family. So I wonder why you acted harshly towards your wife.
And with respect to the second issue, the manner in which you confront your spouse determines how she reacts or responds to you. You need to learn how to talk to her calmly with love; not harshly with so much bitterness or venom.
Once again, don't give up on your marriage please. Every marriage has its ups & downs. And no human is perfect. We only strive to be perfect. Peace! |

That would not still change the fact that he acted foolishly by chaining a human being like a lower animal, while his wife showcased wisdom by reporting him to the appropriate authority. At the end of it all, he still remains the foolish one between them. |

My advise is that you end that abusive relationship as soon as possible, because you also deserve to be happy. |
Family › Re: What's Wrong With Nairalanders? by limamintruth: 9:31pm On Apr 13, 2017 |
RicoBee: This question has been on my mind for sometime. I've been a member of this forum for close to a decade. I remember in those days, I mean those halcyon days, Nairaland used to be a haven of comfort where members who were disconsolate found solace.
I remember an instance where a lady asked where Viagra could be bought where she resided. For her to come out with such, she probably wanted to rescue her marriage. The replies she got were heart lifting. People asked her who needed it. She replied that it's someone close to her. No one laughed at her or denigrated her. People came to her aid and offered assistance. Both doctors and those from other professions. She left a happier woman.
That was some years ago. Fast forward to 2017, if such a woman had come to Nairalanders for help, I mean that kind of help, you would hear derogatory words like olosho, ashewo, runs girl, etc.
We must all fight this nasty attitude of these kind of people. That is a major way, Nairaland as a forum can regain its glory.
One Last Shot: For those of you, who may want to attack me with invective, bring it on. You will definitely not be dignified with my response, for they are golden.
Peace! RicoBee.
cc. Lalasticlala I totally agree with you on this. The mods really need to do something to curb such ill mannered posts by the increasing irresponsible nairalanders of today. Their waywardness on this forum is really getting too much gaskiya. |
Family › Re: My Wife Double Dated Before We Got Married by limamintruth: 10:54am On Apr 10, 2017 |
Firstcitizen: Ademola2017,
Going by the comments, I hope you have learnt your lesson for bringing your relationship issues to Nairaland. You have been hurt and in pain but coming here will lead you to depression with such brutal comments from imbec.iles and minors who hover round this thread like bees.
You have done nothing wrong by falling in love and following your heart. Even those that use their heads rather than hearts miscalculate a lot hence the marital social media drama we witness from our role models daily.
You are bold for following your heart. You are a man. The man. A strong man and you will handle this like.....a real man.
We all had past relationships and some are friendly with their exes even overly friendly. Some people tolerate it some don't. It does not mean something is going on but it can hurt a man's pride which is the case here. First thing is to take advantage of the present situation and put a total end to that.
Now the issue of past cheating before marriage and discovered after signing the dotted lines have been a controversial issue with divergent views from even relationship experts. I will break it down to the Nigerian context. Even the holier than thou in Nigeria does so especially among the ladies who are competitive with peers when it comes to getting the 'perfect' suitor. I will try not to be politically correct. The average Nigerian lady has one or two backup relationships in case things go pear shaped. It's now our way of life and somehow become acceptable. Marriage is the start of a new type of relationship and not a continuation of the other. That is why you are asked to forsake others when making your vows.
Do you forgive such?. Yes absolutely. As young adults we all follow the trend, want what is acceptable to others who sniff us and wish us to fail and want to show off. We make mistakes in the process but there is always time for redemption. This is it. Forgive this and move on.
Now the most tricky part which is her attitude towards you. You both share the blame. The greatest love is the one that is learnt. Her attitude does not mean she does not love you. It's just a bad habit you guys allowed to fester. Having 2 relationships means one treats you good and the other is a bad boy. All women are drawn to the one with a little bit of danger. So she gives all the bu.llsh.it she gets to the good guy to ease up her strain or to keep the relationship at a level it does not get too serious and spoil both. It's a hard job and some play it well while others mess it up. When you got married you should have helped her correct her habits She acquired to manage both relationships but you ignored it. Now She chose to marry you. Forget all what your mind tells you about being second choice. If she did not love you she will keep hoping for another Mr perfect. Respect that and move on.
Your wife made mistakes like we all do. This is an opportunity to correct all the faults in your marriage and enjoy it. Punish her a little, read out loud that riot act but still pamper her with moderation and forgive her. I think you just got presented with all the opportunity in world to have a blissful marriage.
Caveat: Take relationship advice on the internet at your own risk The ONLY sensible post in the thread. @Ademola2017, take note. |

Flaghouse1: DELAW!!! you just explained it in simpler term So how would you relate this case with that of sahara reporters and Dino. Undler which classification will it fall,as to me I see no difference with both but different treatment based on status Dino intends to file the case against sahara as a civil suit. That is why he intends claiming damages. The penalties for defamation under criminal law are either imprisonment for a specified term (usually a short prison term) or court fine. |
Celebrities › Re: Kemi Olunloyo Granted Bail by limamintruth: 8:23pm On Mar 30, 2017 |
kingzizzy: Really? Then that is very bad. Defamation should be a civil offence. Im shocked that Nigeria that claims to be a democracy actually criminalised defamation. Terrible Victims are given the opportunity to seek remedy either under criminal law or civil law. As a criminal wrong, it's 'defamation'; while as a civil wrong, it's 'slander or libel'. It's a serious offense that can kill or even permanently ruin one's reputation in the society. That has been the position since independence. |

1. An American gentleman strolling on the streets of Port Harcourt only to be shot dead by stray bullets from soldiers chasing peaceful Biafran protesters.
2. An American trying to do a little farming around Benue state only to be killed by Fulani herdsmen who wants to forcefully graze their cattle on his crops.
3. An American migrant exploring the beauty of Ondo state and caught by the many ritualists who cut off his head, gorge his eyes and cut his privates thinking that the ritual will make them $$$ since na white man Sarcasm aside, the U.S is right on this one. The question should be whether or not Nigeria should be among the top 5 on that list; and the answer in my opinion is 'Yes'! A country having 2 of the world's most deadly terror groups (i.e BH & fulani militia) within its territory deserves such a position. |

Sinkills: You imply that I do not see anything wrong in gayism and paedophilia. Nothing can be farther from the truth. It appears some people are missing the point. My motive here is not to win the argument neither I am aiming to show off how scholarly I am about the subject matter. My message is for male born again Christian doctors who are expected to keep away from every sinful practice including those that appear evil. I believe they and other like minded believers appreciate such. God bless you all as you keep yourselves in the love of God and unspotted till Christ comes I J N, Amen. Gynaecology is a noble profession for both males and females; there's absolutely NOTHING sinful about the practice. Note that generally in human medicine, such kinds of examinations (which you earlier on ignorantly referred to as fo.ndling) ain't peculiar to only gynaecology alone, but most specializations under human medicine also perform similar body examinations on patients where necessary. I wonder why you are acting like the pharisees of old who were only concerned of the physical 'holiness' of abstaining from what they narrow-mindly consider as 'unholy or iniquity'. That was why like you, they were so quick to condemn Jesus Christ's actions which were regarded by them as 'ungodly/sinful' e.g His interaction with & acceptance of the likes of Zaccheaus and Mary Magdalene. So pls, there is absolutely nothing sinful in a male practicing gynaecology; what matters is the faith & intent of the Practitioner. Same way there's nothing bad about being a lawyer or any other misconstrued profession out there whose founding objectives are just and pure. Thank you. |

Genial: A Sudanese man has been forced to take a goat as his "wife", after he was caught having sex with the animal. The goat's owner, Mr Alifi, said he surprised the man with his goat and took him to a council of elders.
They ordered the man, Mr Tombe, to pay a dowry of 15,000 Sudanese dinars ($50) to Mr Alifi.
"We have given him the goat, and as far as we know they are still together," Mr Alifi said.
Mr Alifi, of Hai Malakal in Upper Nile State, told the Juba Post newspaper that he heard a loud noise around midnight on 13 February and immediately rushed outside to find Mr Tombe with his goat.
"When I asked him: 'What are you doing there?', he fell off the back of the goat, so I captured and tied him up."
Mr Alifi then called elders to decide how to deal with the case.
"They said I should not take him to the police, but rather let him pay a dowry for my goat because he used it as his wife," Mr Alifi told the newspaper.

akintom: Since you have Christians, who own businesses that conflicts the bible commandments, but gets other bible verses to rationalize the businesses as not sinful via "grace covering exegesis".
What does this say of the whole idea of Christian religion?
I just reject the belief that the Bible is literarily true. Alright, I really don't fancy discussing biblical issues with persons who don't even believe in the Holy Bible to begin with. This is because my answers are strictly dependent upon biblical principles which you do not believe in. So hope you can see the dilemma there? It's akin to beating an already dead horse. However, I'll leave you with the following: Romans 6:1&2 "Shall we then continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?" Galatians 5:13 "For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." 2 Timothy 2:19 "Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,”and, “Everyone who names/confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from iniquity.” Modified: Note that it is important to make God your priority and don't waste time scrutinizing how others do theirs. Your direction should come from His word entirely, and not from a mortal man that is prone to imperfections. tnx. |

akintom: With thread like this, am just probing into the dynamics and possible variables of the religious minds.
Eliciting responses via thread like this, helps in psychoanalysing the religious minds.
Now, in case you hold *the Christian Bible to be literarily true* what do you think of Christians, who own clubhouse, occupy leadership positions in churches and pay tithes on the proceeds from the clubhouse. The answer to your question above is dependent on whether or not clubhouse business is a pure/clean/godly venture. And based on my opinion as I earlier stated, it is not. Thus, is it right for the church to accept tithe gotten from the proceeds of such a business venture? Simply put, it is NOT right. As the Holy Bible puts it, "Who can bring what is pure/holy from the impure/unholy? No one. (Job 14:4)". Remember, you can neither bribe nor mock God i.e you cannot be working contrary to His principles and then turn around to offer him proceeds from your unholy acts. The Bible further says the sacrifice of a sinner is abomination unto God. BTW, are you an atheist? Because I don't get the first sentence of your last paragraph. |

Sinkills: There is nothing unholy about treating the sick of any gender but there is definitely something wrong with looking at the naked body of the opposite sex and touching their sensitive organs as part of one's job. It is defiling and unholy sir. Thanks. Touching the sensitive organs you say? Sorry to say but that viewpoint of yours is NOT scriptural sir. Feel free to prove me wrong. Whatever you do with the purest of intent is right in the sight of God. If you see nothing wrong in a male doctor touching the sensitive parts of a male patient (in this era of rampant gayism), or a male paediatrician examining the sensitive parts of a female baby (in this era of prevailing paedophilia), I wonder why the objection about male gynaecologist for women ailments. Remember, God sees the heart; hence, in so far as the gynaecologist does his work with the mindset of rendering quality treatment to his patients, there is absolutely nothing sinful about that. |

akintom: Please, does it mean that a Christian/born again, can own a club house (where all are freely done - alcohol, Sex, gambling, etc)? You can't compare being a doctor and operating a nightclub bro. Nightclubs promote ungodliness such as drunkenness, prostitution e.t.c. In all, the intent matters most. Thus, if ever there is a nightclub that is purely for relaxation purpose, and that does not promote immorality or the intake of substances capable of causing drunkenness & other mental misbehaviour; then, such nightclub can't be termed as unholy venture. But we know that is not the case with virtually all nightclubs. |
