SOUTHERN KADUNA: WHO ARE THE REAL VICTIMS?

Muhammad Auwal Abu Suhaib Jama’a town was founded by the Muslims in 1804 under the Ruler ship of Malam Usman Yabo and similarly Zango town by the Hausa Muslims traders. Therefore, the crises in the region is a grand design to completely wipe-out the Muslims and Muslim Communities in the area by the Christians Militias taking advantage of their numerical strength. It is important to note that, the Districts of Zangon Kataf, Kachia, Kagarko and Chawai referred to as at then as Southern Zaria were under Zazzau Emirate until the creation of Chiefdom by the administration of Colonel Lawal Ja’afaru Isa in 1995 and the additional by Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi in 2001.

The Catalogue of Crises in Southern Kaduna include:-

 The kasuwan Magani Episodic Massacre of Muslims 1979/80, 19 people were killed all of them Muslims.

 The Kaduna Strife 1982

 The Jere incidence of 1983

 The Gure/kahugu and Yarkasuwa Crisis 1984

 The Kafanchan Crisis of 1987, which spread to Kaduna, Zaria, Ikara, Funtua, Katsina etc

¤1992 Zango Kataf Genocide.

 The kafanchan attack of 1999 against installation of the New Emir of Jama'a: 54 Muslims were Massacred.

 The February and May 2000 Kaduna Carnage and the massive killing of Muslims in February 23, 2000 in Kachia.

 The 2005 Merciless attack on the Muslims in Mariri, town-lere Local Government. Eleven Muslims killed and over 155 houses destroyed.

 The Post2011 Presidential Election Violence in some parts of the state which resulted in the cleansing of
Muslims in Zonkuwa town, which is still fresh in our memories.

 The 2013 Crises resulting in the killing of 11 Muslims in Kafanchan, Sanga and Kachia.

 The 2016 crises resulting in the killing of 84 Muslims in Samarun Kataf and another 4 in Dangoma.

 The Muslims towns of Zango, Zonkwa, Matsirga, Sabon Gora, Television, Sabon Tasha, Marrabar Rido were completely wiped out and the next target is Kafanchan another strong hold of the Muslims in Southern Kaduna.

 The Persistent communal clashes between the Pastoral and Farmers in the Southern Senatorial District of the state.

All these crises had their genesis from Southern Kaduna State and aggressive against the Muslims.

However, those of 1987,1992, 2000 and 2011 were unprecedented which touches not only on the Social, Political and Economy of the State but the country as a whole. It was senseless and merciless attack on the Muslims.

Details of some these crises were given below:

(1) 1987 Kafanchan Violence, 19 Muslims killed,Many wounded and property worth N78,537,768.94 destroyed. Instigators are
(i) Rev Abubakar Bko
(ii) Capt Manya
(iii) Fellowship of Christian students
(iv) Mrs Ladi Lekwot and others,

(2) 1992 Zangon Kataf Genocide against Muslims,1,533 Muslims massacred, thousandth wounded and property worth N207,658,560.00 destroyed.
The planners and executors were: Gen Zamani Lekwot,
Mal B.A.D Gora,.
Mr J.B.Ayok and many Christians and political leaders.

Gen Lekwot and 5 others were found guilty and sentenced to death but was not carried out.

(3) 2000 Religious disturbances: Over 5000 Muslims perished thousands wounded and unquantifiable property loss.
The following Christians leaders were found to be involved
Elder Saidu Dogo,
Archb P. Y. Jatau,
Archb B.A. Achigili and many others.

See White Paper on the Report of Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Kaduna State Religious Disturbances of February 2000, Page 17.

(4) 2011 Presidential election, 943 persons were killed, thousands wounded and property worth
N23,330,737,540.00 destroyed.

Brig Gen. Adamu Dyeris and many others were indicted.

NOTES:
i.- it should be noted that in the statistical figures of 943 deaths recorded all over the country in the 2011 post presidential election disturbances over 80 % of persons killed were from southern Kaduna senatorial district and in this crises, there was no arrest in connections with the killings. See chapter two page 17 of The White Paper on the Report of the Federal Government Investigation Panel on the Election Violence.

ii- it should also be noted the convoy of Emir Of Jama’a was ambushed at Samarun Kataf on his way back to Kafanchan from Kaduna after a security meeting and similarly the
convoy of the Execute Governor of Kaduna State and members of security council were also attacked about a month ago. All these are indication that the people of Southern Kaduna don't want peace.

THE WAY FORWARD

1. Failure of Government to punish perpetrators of these crises has allowed the continuation of similar crises in the state for close to 40 years.

2. We call on the Government to arrest and punish the perpetrators of the current crises.

3. We call on the Government to find lasting solutions to all these crises.

4. The Government should as a matter of urgency revive the Muslim-Christian consultative committee which is headed by the Governor of the State.

5. The Government should always take proactive measures upon receipt of intelligent report.
Nuhu Ali Ayo Ojeniyi Cyril Oseghale Ladesope Ladelokun Segun Fagbemi

Eyaah, copy & paste work.
Its obvious you & the writer of the above fallacies are hopeless liars with no iota of shame. Only that can explain his ability to concoct this epistle of lies & your boldness to post same here.

ALL crises that have ever occurred in Kaduna State are always started by the Muslims; pure fact! The last crises of 2011 was triggered by the same Muslims because of their hatred for Late Gov. Yakowa and the anger that he was able to win the Governorship election of that year.

Thousands of Christians were attacked and killed in cold blood, including hapless kids returning from schools in several Kaduna vicinities largely populated by the Muslims e.g Hayin Banki, Tudun-Wada, Kawo, Nasarawa e.t.c.

Also, several churches were destroyed & torched; and businesses & properties belonging to Christians were razed and looted by Muslim miscreants. At the same time, the Muslims blocked the highway around Mararaban Jos and stopped vehicles belonging to Christians, as well as luxurious buses heading to the East (conveying mainly Christian Southerners), and they set these vehicles ablaze without allowing any of the passengers to alight. That was how several passengers were burnt to death around that Mararaban Jos axis.

Note that with regards to the genocide being perpetrated against the Christians in S/Kaduna communities,
1. Why would any responsible govt. pay alien murderers 'compensation' after they have successfully killed scores of citizens under his watch Doesn't that affirm the suspicion that the said compensation was primarily the payment for a job well done?
2. Why do supposed aliens from far away Libya & Sudan have unrestricted access to freely come into Nigeria & attack the country's indigent communities NATIONWIDE while the Govt. of the day sees nothing bad in such foreign intrusion?
3. Does any of our laws support revenge killings? And if No, why do the majority of Muslims always justify the terrorist attacks by the fulanis on grounds of it being revenge killings
And hope when the Christians later commence their own limitless revenge killings, you egghead Muslims would still regard same as justifiable?

Furthermore, Southern Kaduna has never been & would never be a Muslim territory. The Muslims in Southern Kaduna are ALL migrants whose forefathers migrated there many years ago. The place the earliest Muslim migrants settled upon their arrival at Southern Kaduna is now called 'Jemaa'. However, Zangon Kataf(which literarily means Kataf settlement in Hausa) is a Kataf town. Same applies to every other Christian community in S/Kaduna.

We Christians know your grand plan to terrorize all Christians from their communities; just as you muslims did in Zaria city, Tudun Wada (kaduna), rigasa, e.t.c. Right now, no Christian resides in these places, & no single church exist in those places as well.

Anybody that believes this bull.shit story by the op really needs urgent mental evaluation.
How can a sane human being allege that Fulani's were killed without any photo evidence of the corpses
The genocide being perpetrated by these Fulani terrorists almost on a daily basis in Southern Kaduna has been corroborated by both the indigent communities and the irresponsible State Govt.
Now, the terrorists are seeking for sympathy and have concocted this special plan of raising several mounds on bare land and tagging same as the graves of their supposedly killed fulanis.
The Southern Kaduna Indigenes have shown several photos of corpses of their kinsmen that were murdered in cold blood by these savages; hence, until we are shown similar photos of the corpses of allegedly murdered Fulanis, we must discard this story as pure lies from the pit of hell. Simple!

Education / Re: Memo Targeted At Muslims, not Christians. - Katsina State University. by limamintruth: 6:43pm On Jan 22, 2017
seunmsg:
The authorities of the Umaru Yar’Ádua University, Katsina, have denied discriminating against Christian students in the approval granted a students religious association to operate on its campus.
The Acting Dean of Student Affairs of the University, Sulaiman Kankara, had in January 17 memo informed students of a new guideline for the registration of clubs and associations in the institution.
In the circular, Dr. Kankara indicated that participation in clubs and associations, including departmental ones, were strictly optional and that no student should be compelled to pay dues.
He also outlawed the formation of tribal and local government associations in the university.
But the controversial part of the memo which made the document to go viral was the dean’s pronouncement that the “Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) is the only religious association allowed to operate on campus.”
After the memo was shared on social media, the university came under ferocious attacks from many Nigerians, with some commentators saying the guideline was part of government’s plot to Islamise Nigeria.
But when contacted on Sunday morning, Dr. Kankara said that aspect of the guideline was actually targeted at Islamic groups which were beginning to mushroom on campus, creating division among students of the same faith.
The dean said, “Actually there is one misconception in the memo. But the fact of the matter is that in Umaru Yar’Ádua University, there is no association known as Christian Students Association.

“There is one religious association and subsidiary Islamic students associations like the Tijjanniya Students Movement in Nigeria, Academic Forum of Islamic Movement in Nigeria and many associations like that.
“They are Islamic students association. So what we want is to have a single union which will be the mouthpiece of muslim students and that is the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria.
“It has nothing to do with any Christian group because up till now, I have not received any application requesting registration of Christian Students Society.
“And once they do that, we are ready to register them. Even as at last week, we said the two religious group to be recognised by the university will be the Muslim one and one from Christian side.
“Up till now we are to receive any application for the registration of any Christian association in the university from any group.”

True.
If really the school authority isn't biased, it ought to have clearly stated in its regulations that "MSSN shall be the only 'ISLAMIC' religious association to be recognised by the school".
But since the authorities couldn't hide their hidden agenda, they ruled MSSN as the only 'religious' association the school shall recognise.

abbey621:

You are still not getting it, perhaps you are deliberately ignoring reality? Religion has never been the problem rather the problem is pure greed and hatred with political influence. It's like an Igbo community choosing to protect themselves during the Biafran war while living in the Western region, ko le work! There is something called home advantage and majority usually overwhelm is the minority. CAN can talk the talk but they can't walk the walk. Since the Muslim leaders in the North have chosen to turn a blind eye, what would it profit CAN to continue to anger the majority?

I just can't help but laugh, which communities are you talking about? The majority of Northerners see no problem with these killings, are you suggesting the minorities match them fire for fire? You do realize that for every Fulani that dies, they are willing to sacrifice 100 Christians? How then can such a battle be won? Without rescue from the government these people are doomed! This is my point and why I blame the North, CAN and the government for this tragedy!

And I also understand the point you are trying to make; albeit using a very wrong analogy. In your write-up, its obvious you do not really know the true state of things in the north because for you to compare the north and south east is indeed laughable.

Let's take for example Kaduna State where these present attacks on indigent Christians is taking place. Note that I've lived in Kaduna State for more than 20years, thus I'm not just assuming things like you southerners do.

The State has an almost equal number of indigent Muslims and Christians alike; however, the political structure of the State favours the Muslims more as a result of Babangida's gameplan while he was Head of State. That is why its always very hard for the indigent Christians to self produce a Christian Governor in the State.

Furthermore, I'm surprised you are not aware that the indigent Christians have always defended their communities from Islamists in the past. Or why do you think the terrorists refer to their actions as 'avenging the killings of their kinsmen'?

The only disadvantage the Christians have right now is the fact that the govt. of the day is actively supporting the invaders against the Christian communities; that's all. Without govt supporting the fulanis, they would have long be driven by the indigenes. The govt are the ones arming these fulanis with very sophisticated weapons and there have been several eyewitness reports to corroborate same. Note that I live in Kaduna till date, and I was at one of the affected areas about a week ago. The indigenes have confirmed that a particular helicopter is always seen deep in the forest where the well armed fulanis are said to be located, dropping things late in the evening & hovering away afterwards.
This is why CAN has asked the communities to also arm themselves and defend their territories.

And for you to make that Igbo comparison just proves to me that you know nothing abt Kaduna State of a truth. Kaduna State is different from Kano State or Benue. Thus, you can just lump the whole north and refer to it as a dead zone for Christians because northern Christians did not 'migrate' to the north, like the Igbos migrate to Lagos or South west , no. The North has always been their homelands even b4 independence.

So I want you to be rest assured that NOTHING will happen if the Indigent Christians decide to arm themselves to protect their territory against intruders.
BTW, this is not a religious crises even, but a purely unprovoked attack on communities by faceless persons. And the call by CAN isn't a call against every Muslim in Kaduna State, but a call that is solely against the attackers hiding in the forests surrounding these Christian communities. The peace loving fulanis still move freely about in these communities without any harassment, thus, no one is targeting Muslims here; only the hideous killers in the forests.

Finally, you initially mentioned me as not being conversant with history. I just didn't want to create further epistle on that submission of yours because it seems you need the history lessons the more considering you seem not to know that the Prophet of Islam Muhammad is one of the most renowned warlord in history because during his lifetime, he masterminded the deaths of numerous Jews and pagans all over the middle east of old. Then we talk about the bloody Islamic conquests of old, that caused the decimation of millions of Christians from north Africa to parts of Europe to Asia. And back to Nigeria, with the bloody jihad of Uthman Danfodio across the Northern region, forcing several non-muslim communities to embrace Islam. All these killings were religiously motivated.

Note that you don't have to accept because I can deduce from your writeup that you are a Muslim from the South.
Religion / Re: CAN Replies Council Of Imams And Ulamah Of Kaduna State by limamintruth: 7:53pm On Jan 16, 2017
abbey621:

Before you call someone ignorant you might want to chill and understand what is called a premise, if you actually took time to read what I wrote before rambling you would realize that our points are very similar. All your points are easily rebutted using 3 questions/statements of my own:

1. What evidence do you have that Islam is more misinterpreted than Christianity? Perhaps you are not a student of history or maybe you are just a product of modernization but check your history books and see where all the savagery and violence began.

2. What is CAN's usefulness? When you tell your members to protect themselves at all cost even if it means to lynch suspected Fulani herdsmen, this will surely not end well for the minority. In a place where the majority rules and the government is not willing to protect the minorities what makes you think we won't have a genocide?

Finally, this is not a religious problem, it is purely political! Someone mentioned religious rights under the Nigerian Constitution earlier but failed to understand there is no enforcement. In a situation where a certain group dominates a particular section of the country and are hell bent on wiping out the lesser group due to the nonchalant attitude and wickedness of the government, anyone that believes CAN will protect these people are obviously delusional!

Funny enough you were the one who authoritatively stated in your prev. post that
"Majority of Northerners and their sick ideology(Notice I didn't use the word 'Muslims' because religion has never been the problem but INTERPRETATION." Hence, my first question stemmed from your assertion that the problem is as a result of misinterpretation of religion. But you deliberately failed to mention WHO are those that are misinterpreting WHAT religion? The likes of BokoHaram and Fulani marauders can be said to be misinterpreting WHAT religion?? Because as far as Nigeria is concerned, this are the primary security challenges bedevilling the north, from north east - north central - north west.

Secondly, self defense has always been the right of every human being. Thus, whether or not CAN directs Christians to protect their lives at all cost doesn't in any way negate the fact that CAN is only reminding Christians of their fundamental right to self defense from these Islamists who constantly invade their communities at night and maim their hapless families in great numbers. No individual can sit back silently and constantly watch strangers cause havoc to his household without doing something to defend his people.
And in case you don't know, self defense is a good defense for murder under our penal code & criminal code i.e to say, if you invade my house with the intent to kill me or cause me harm, I have every right to kill you first because you are the uninvited invader. Thus, CAN only stated the obvious truth.

And without these communities coming together to defend themselves from these terrorists, these attacks will never stop; since the govt. clearly doesn't give a damn and the terrorists are enjoying their successes week by week.

These incessant killings by the Fulani marauders its part of a grand plan by Nigerian Islamists in govt. to force Christians out of their lands, seize it and continuously expand their territories just as Usman Danfodio did in the past.

However, this would definitely be an unsurmountable task to achieve, because Nigerian Christians of today are more enlightened than Nigerian Christians of yesteryears during the 'jahilliya period/dark ages of illiteracy.

Religion / Re: CAN Replies Council Of Imams And Ulamah Of Kaduna State by limamintruth: 5:44pm On Jan 16, 2017

Nigeria's problem are two folds:

1. Majority of Northerners and their sick ideology(Notice I didn't use the word 'Muslims' because religion has never been the problem but interpretation. These people refuse to value the life of their fellow human beings.

2. CAN and their incessant lack of respect for other religions. Basically you do not go into another man's backyard and start forming landlord. CAN is basically jeopardizing the lives of Christians in the North, if you eventually fight force with force in the long run the Christians would lose out against the more physical and violent opposition.

In the end, a country without a credible and effective government will expose it's citizens to quagmire like this!

And my response to you is:
1. Why Islam is the most widely mis-interpreted religion (by its followers) in matters relating to barbarity & savagery?

2. Its obvious you are ignorant of the fact that indigent northern communities exist from time immemorial till date. And CAN as a body, is there to protect the interests of all Christians from both the South and the North of Nigeria.
Rather its these worthless Islamic terrorists masquerading as 'fulani marauders' (& also referred to as fulanis from neighbouring countries to nig. by Gov. El-rufai himself) that are the actual aliens trying so hard to forcefully take over the lands of these Christian communities via their usual cowardly terrorist night attacks on the said communities.

The questions you should be asking are:
1. Why Nigerian Ulamas would shamelessly attempt to justify the cowardly killing of scores of hapless women & children, while the victims were innocently observing their night sleep?

2. Why these evil Ulamas would prefer to defend the actions of non-nigerian killers(as stated by the Gov. himself) of their fellow countrymen, rather than criticize the govt. for its failure to secure the lives of its citizens?

3. Why a sitting Gov. would chose to pay the same people he referred to as foreigners after they had killed scores of 'his' people in cold-blood, rather than ensuring their arrest and lawful prosecution?

4. Why Muslim clerics have all failed to commiserate with Christians for what these terrorists have done?

5. Why the fed. govt. has refused to address the excesses of these fulani marauders terrorizing christian communities nationwide; and also Why the fulanis are the only people allowed to move about well armed with dangerous weapons in Nigeria

Oral contract is nt enforcable in court, it can only be if perhaps it was recorded on a tape as a proff.

lol, it is sir. there are several ways to prove same just as some have rightly stated earlier on this thread.
Its simply that written agreements are easier to prove in court.
Ignorance & poverty is what is really affecting the citizenry cos very few know their rights & also have the means to enforce same.

Sue? Stop joking. What proff does he have dat he works for the firm? Dnt u get it, he doesnt have an employment contract.

Proof? By bringing witnesses to corroborate his claim. Or are you saying that in Nigeria, Oral & Implied contracts cannot be enforced in court?

Religion / Re: Why Christians Should Reject The Bill For A Christian Court In Nigeria by limamintruth: 6:42pm On Dec 07, 2016

We Shoukd reject all religious courts. Why a religious court when we have secular courts?

Wake up man, sharia courts have come to stay and there's absolutely NOTHING you or I can do about it. Every Nigerian is free to chose whichever court he /she wishes to have disputes settled.
We already have the conventional courts for all, the Sharia courts for the Muslims and the Customary courts for the traditionalists, thus, it is only proper to also establish Christian courts for the christians as well.
BTW, the Ecclesiastical courts are to be guided by the tenets of the christian faith on civil matters e.g issues pertaining to marriage, family disputes, inheritance, e.t.c.

To cater for pur Muslims students as there are arrangement for you Christians before

Why not mention those 'arrangements' for Christians let's hear then

And to the OP, I'm not the least surprised about the turn of events in this bigotic regime. A govt. that negotiates with Islamic terrorists at will & to the detriment of its people can never be taken serious.

I want to believe that the Vatican is christian Holy city. Pls find out the approved age of consent according to Vatican.

Point of correction man. The Vatican is NOT 'christian holy city' as you wrongly stated, but the seat of catholicism.
Remember, not all Christians are Catholics, just as not all Muslims are Shiites.
