Dr Orji Uzo Kalu the former governor of Abia state, has shown interest to contest for the position of the Deputy Senate President in the soon to be constituted 9th National Assembly.

Kalu who won the Abia North Senatorial district seat in the February 23rd election, said that is in the interest of equity and justice that South-East zone should be allocated the seat of deputy senate.

Speaking to newsmen at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos today March 27th, Kalu said that he’s aware that the APC, which had the majority in the Senate, had zoned the senate president position to the North-East and the Deputy Senate President to the North-West. Reacting to this development, Kalu said

“I am a very loyal party man. The party has zoned the senate presidency position to the North-East and I want to respect the party’s will but the second position is what we are not going to allow to leave the South-East. So, as far as I am concerned, in the South-East, I am going to run openly on the floor of the House for the position of Deputy Senate President.

“I am not going to listen to the party neither will I listen to anybody. Nobody that wants to be the Deputy Senate President is more loyal than I am to the party. I have suffered for the party and have been called by Nigerians to come out. Just when we thought we’ve seen and heard it all yet is another shocking news of a Chinese woman that gave birth to twin for two different men. The woman gave birth to twins with different DNA and this opened up a can of worms as it made it clear she had been cheating on her husband.

The woman in China had a set of twin boys but one of the boys didn’t look like the woman’s husband. A DNA test showed that they had different DNA. This increased the husband’s suspicion and the woman was forced to admit that she cheated on her husband in a one-night stand.

It appears that all may not be well for President Muhammadu Buhari as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Movement, Pastor Aminchi Habu, and the party have sued the President, the Independent National Electoral Commission and the All Progressives Congress.

Habu is also the Coordinator, Northern Evangelism, The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries.

The cleric, who dragged the three respondents, Buhari, APC and INEC before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja, asked the tribunal to among other things, declare the victory of Buhari and the APC at the February 23 Presidential election null and void.

Habu in his petition said the name of his party and logo were unlawfully omitted from the ballot papers by INEC thereby denying him the opportunity of contesting in the election.

Incidentally, the name and logo of the PDM appeared on the ballot papers of governorship, National Assembly and state assembly elections.

In the petition which was marked CA/PEPC/004/2019 and filed on March 19, 2019 and obtained by The PUNCH, the PDM candidate said he and his party had spent a lot of money on campaigns and they felt cheated by INEC.

He, therefore, sought five reliefs.

The deceased’s friend, Rabe Salisu, 35, sustained gunshot injuries in the incident.

The deceased and Salisu are from old Kwari village in the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, where the incident occurred.

The police said the incident occurred on March 16, 2019.

The man, who was alleged to have mistakenly pulled the gun’s trigger, Mani Mohammed, has been arrested by the police and charged to court.

Mohammed, 43, who resides in the same village with the deceased and Salisu, reported himself at the Jibia Police Station on the day that the incident occurred.

A lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic in Auchi, Patrick Okojie, who was declared missing four days ago have been found dead.

The lecturer’s decomposing body was found on his plot of land at Igbira Camp, along Igarra/Auchi Road.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday met behind closed doors with leaders of the Southern and Middle Belt Forum in Abuja.

The meeting, which was held at the residence of a former Federal Commissioner for Information, Chief Edwin Clark, also had the leaders of Afenifere and Ohanaeze Ndigbo in attendance.

Mrs Vero Igbigwe, the head teacher of Okotie-Eboh primary school in Sapele Local government have been suspended by the Delta State Government for allegedly collecting unauthorised fees including examination levies from school children.

This is coming after a viral video that shows a schoolgirl, Success Adebor, bitterly protesting against the school’s decision to send her home over her parents’ inability to pay examination fee.

The state Commissioner for Education, Mr Chiedu Ebie, who stated this on Monday when he visited the school to verify the claims in the video, said the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration runs a free education and would not tolerate any form of extortion by state officials.

A racist Chinese restaurant Lagos where Nigerians and other blacks are not allowed to enter or order food.

The PUNCH reporter visited the restaurant to investigate claims made by some Nigerians on social media. The findings are riveting.

According to investigation gathered by Punchng the restaurant is located on 21B, Emina Crescent, Off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos is called Shi Shi in Lagos.

Respondents on a social media post about the restaurant say only Chinese are allowed entry, though findings showed that Nigerians and other Blacks are allowed patronage only if they are accompanied by a Chinese.

When our correspondent visited the restaurant on Tuesday, he was accosted by a guard in Army combat camouflage and prevented from entering the restaurant.

“Who are you looking for?” the guard, a Nigerian, asked.

Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, of Ogun state on Monday likened his remaining two months in office to the last lap of a long-distance race.

Amosun said the remaining two months were a period for him to draw more strength from within and gather more speed towards obtaining the medal.

The governor said this while speaking with newsmen shortly after inspecting some semi-urban roads under construction in the Ogun-East Senatorial District.

He described himself as a national athlete, representing the country in long-distance races such as 500 metres, 5,000 metres and 18,000 metres.

Amosun assumed office in 2011 and was re-elected in 2015.

His eight years in government would end on May 29.

His favoured successor candidate, Adekunle Akinlade of Allied People’s Movement, was defeated in the March 9 governorship poll.

The All Progressives Congress polled 497,914 votes to beat its closest contestant,the Peoples Democratic Party which scored 50,763 votes in Yobe in last Saturday’s presidential election.

Prof. Abubakar Gunduri, the state Collation Officer, announced the result after collation from the 17 local government areas in the state on Monday in Damaturu.

He said that the state had 1,365,913 registered voters, out of which, 601,059 were accredited for the election.

A viral video circulating online shows two young men believed to be gays in an embarrassing situation.

In the video, one of the two men could be seen ‘glued’ to the other on the back as they both cried amidst attempts to detach from each other.

Bystanders who appear to be neighbours who trooped to their rescue could also be seen bringing them out from the room in which they were allegedly having the sexual intercourse.

With a cloth wrapped around them, the two virtually were folded together and placed in a car, ostensibly to be conveyed to the hospital for treatment.

Some women who appeared to be neighbours in the house believed to be a compound one could be heard grumbling and booing the two alleged gay lovers.

It is not clear yet where the incident happened, but some sceptics are of the view that the video might be an act for a film, and that may not be far-fetched.

A 57-year-old married man with two wives has died after an alleged sex romp with his married lover in a Lagos hotel.

The man simply identified as Ismaila, had gone to the Ace Bar in the Akoka area of Yaba, Lagos, with his alleged mistress on Sunday.

It was learnt that around 7pm, the married mistress called for help when her lover reportedly slumped.

A source, who preferred not to be named, said by the time Ismaila was taken to the hospital, he was confirmed dead.

The source said, “The incident happened around 7pm on Sunday. The man came in with the woman. After some time, she called for help saying that the man had slumped. As soon as the hotel management was alerted to the incident, the man was taken to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

“Immediately the man was confirmed dead, his corpse was taken to the police station in a taxi together with the woman, and the case was reported. It was from there that the police took over the case and the body was deposited in the morgue for autopsy.”

A resident of the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, however, said the mistress was also married and a nursing mother.

Married man and girlfriend found dead in a car after allegedly taking poisoned drink. The image world visual boss, Emmanuel Chetan and his girlfriend Annie Akhadelor, were found dead in a parked car at Mende, Maryland Lagos state on Saturday.

Residents of the area said Chetan lived at 37A Atiba Osborne street Mende.
An eyewitness, James Odion, said Chetan and his girlfriend were probably returning from a club in the early hours of Saturday. He stated that the two died on Olugbede street, Mende Maryland about 72 meters from where Chetan lived.

According to him, the two were suspected to have taken poisoned drinks, which might have led to the cause of their death and not the car’s air conditioning system as being suggested by some people.

He continued that the police eventually came and forced the open the car door, some containers of drinks were found in the car.

World’s richest man, Jeff Bezos has published a shocking letter that was sent to him by a National Enquirer editor threatening to publish nude photos of the Amazon billionaire if he did not take down the claims that the decision to expose the billionaire’s affair with Lauren Sanchez was politically motivated.

In the email, American Media’s Chief Content Officer Dylan Howard comments that ‘with The Washington Post poised to publish unsubstantiated rumors of The National Enquirer’s initial report, I wanted to describe to you the photos obtained during our newsgathering.’

He then goes on to claim that the Enquirer has the unclad pic’ sent by Bezos and a photo that shows Sanchez’s ‘nether region.’

After listing the images, Howard writes: ‘It would give no editor pleasure to send this email. I hope common sense can prevail – and quickly.’

Bezos did respond quickly, by posting that letter and two others online.

The first email was sent on February 5, a proposed was sent on February 6 and a third email was sent at an unknown date in response to a February 4 note sent by Bezos’ lawyer Marty Singer to Howard.

These emails were sent just a few months after American Media agreed to fully cooperate with a Department of Justice investigation involving President Trump under penalty of law.

Well, that got my attention. But not in the way they likely hoped. Any personal embarrassment AMI could cause me takes a back seat because there’s a much more important matter involved here,’ explained Bezos in a post on Medium.

‘If in my position I can’t stand up to this kind of extortion, how many people can?’

Something unusual happened to me yesterday. Actually, for me it wasn’t just unusual — it was a first. I was made an offer I couldn’t refuse. Or at least that’s what the top people at the National Enquirer thought. I’m glad they thought that, because it emboldened them to put it all in writing. Rather than capitulate to extortion and blackmail, I’ve decided to publish exactly what they sent me, despite the personal cost and embarrassment they threaten.

AMI, the owner of the National Enquirer, led by David Pecker, recently entered into an immunity deal with the Department of Justice related to their role in the so-called “Catch and Kill” process on behalf of President Trump and his election campaign. Mr. Pecker and his company have also been investigated for various actions they’ve taken on behalf of the Saudi Government.

And sometimes Mr. Pecker mixes it all together:

“After Mr. Trump became president, he rewarded Mr. Pecker’s loyalty with a White House dinner to which the media executive brought a guest with important ties to the royals in Saudi Arabia. At the time, Mr. Pecker was pursuing business there while also hunting for financing for acquisitions…”

Federal investigators and legitimate media have of course suspected and proved that Mr. Pecker has used the Enquirer and AMI for political reasons. And yet AMI keeps claiming otherwise:

“American Media emphatically rejects any assertion that its reporting was instigated, dictated or influenced in any manner by external forces, political or otherwise.”

Of course, legitimate media have been challenging that assertion for a long time.

I didn’t know much about most of that a few weeks ago when intimate texts messages from me were published in the National Enquirer. I engaged investigators to learn how those texts were obtained, and to determine the motives for the many unusual actions taken by the Enquirer. As it turns out, there are now several independent investigations looking into this matter.

Mum of one and American rapper, Cardi B, is known for keeping it real, and she embraces that same attitude for a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar. The “Money” rapper is the magazine’s cover star, and in the profile she opens up about experiencing postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter, Kulture Kiari, now 7 months old.



“I thought I was going to avoid it,” Cardi said. “When I gave birth, the doctor told me about postpartum, and I was like, ‘Well, I’m doing good right now, I don’t think that’s going to happen.’ But out of nowhere, the world was heavy on my shoulders.”

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has presented a budget of N852.13bn to the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Recall that the governor was called out by House of Assembly members for spending the yet to be presented budget money. The budget is lower than that of last year, which was N1.046trn.


Explaining the shortfall in the 2019 budget, Ambode said the budget performance of 2018 was put into consideration before preparing the 2019 budget.

Controversial AOP, Daddy Freeze have blasted Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, for giving credit to General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A Adeboye, after he escaped death on Saturday. Osinbajo in his revelation said Adeboye called him after Friday’s Holy Ghost service to pray for him.

CCTV footage captured a terrifying moment a brave mother holds onto her toddler while trying to fend off armed gunmen with assault rifles trying to break into her property.

The CCTV footage, was captured in Pinetown, South Africa, the unnamed woman frantically tries to secure the gates outside her home as the gang break through.
The three gunmen arrived at the mother’s home on February 2 at 10.40pm as she was saying goodbye to guests.

Security expert Andreas Mathios said: ‘The residents were busy saying goodbye to their friends, whose vehicles were still parked in the driveway, with the main driveway gate open because they were about to leave.

‘The gunmen spotted the opportunity and stopped outside the property. As they approached the victims, one of the women standing in the driveway screamed when she saw a suspect armed with a firearm.’

One of the gunmen rushes through the gate as the mother crouches down on the floor and cradles her toddler in her arms.

The armed robber fires shots into the air before leaving the scene.

After several moments, the man in red shorts then returns to secure the gate.

According to Mr Mathios, one of the victims threw the group’s mobile phones into a bush to prevent the robbers from taking them.

However, one suspect managed to retrieve a phone from the bush before running off with it.

No one was injured during the violent incident and the police have yet to confirm whether they are investigating the matter.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex braved the snowy conditions gripping the south west of England for an official visit to Bristol today, which resulted in a slight delay in their arrival.

This came after Kensington Palace confirmed that the couple’s day-long visit to the city was go ahead in spite of the weather, with waiting crowds noticeably thinner due to the icy temperatures.

There had been concern that the inclement conditions could have hampered their journey down from London and it is understood that contingency plans were being put in place, just in case. But aides said today that they were determined to be there.

The royal couple cancelled their plans to fly because of the weather and arrived by train, about half an hour later than planned.

Jimi Agbaje, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos State, has urged the Lagos State House of Assembly to reveal the motives behind planned impeachment of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

In a statement issued by Agbaje’s Directorate of Media and Publicity on Thursday, he alleged that the Lagos lawmakers were using the issue of delayed presentation of the 2019 budget as an excuse to carry out an ulterior motive.

In his statement Agbaje alleged that the lawmakers are only acting based on the directives of the cabal ruing the state.

He said, “Of course, the way Lagos politics has been structured over the last two decades, government actions are often dictated by open and covert objectives. That the legislators are hinging their action on the purported delay of the budget is simply a smokescreen for a very shameful undertone that the honourable assembly members will not want to make open.

“They are yet to tell us their actual motivation for this superfluous move to shame the Governor.”

Agbaje also expressed reservations about the timing of the impeachment move.
