No offence meant to Babaown, but using the word 'lazy' instead of the wickedness bordering on crimes against humanity, which those pedalling misleading info and pics intended to cause civil strife and mass bloodshed, is being too kind.

It is imperative, given negative realities the world sees unfolding due to Social Media, that laws are affected that let individuals world wide understand that they will be tracked and prosecuted by the international community for peddling misleading info that leads to, 'unlawful outcomes' whatever it is agreed constitute grave enough misleading information .

There is a better way of saying this but I don't know how.

PoliticsLetter To Nigerian Women by Litmus(op): 5:39pm On Feb 12, 2021
Dear

Nigerian women, which way? All these ESN, Amotekun , “Arewa Security Marshalls” and whatnot are really just militias being set up for an unnecessary future civil war. You don’t need telling that in majority African civil wars, real beneficiaries are foreign nations and local warlords that lead these militias. The real looser are combatants and especially you women and your children. At least combatants have the solace of booze, drugs and forced access to your womanly crotches. Obviously every nation belongs equally to women and men, so why do you women always sit around doing nothing while useless men plan stupid futures for you, your mothers, grandmothers and children?

Women say NO to these your stupid Black “men” that - lacking know-how to operate competitively and successfully in a world dominated by apparently more intellectually capable white and Asian men - do nothing but prepare sorrow and hardship for your future.

Males make up approximately half the population of Nigeria, must you women that make up the other half leave it all up to them? You women need to form lots of coalition called Women Against Stupid Men talking up unnecessary conflict.

Thank me later.

Africa's oil states 'face huge losses' by 2040

Oil and gas-producing countries, including several in Africa, face a multi-trillion-dollar hole in their government revenue as the world cuts back on fossil fuels, according to a report by the think-tank Carbon Tracker.

It estimates the cumulative total revenue loss by 2040 will be $13 trillion (in 2020 dollars).

For seven countries, including Angola, Equatorial Guinea and South Sudan, the predicted loss is at least 40%.

For another 12, including Algeria, Chad, Congo, Gabon, Libya and Nigeria, it is in the range of 20% to 40%.

The report - Beyond Petrostates - noted that several countries facing falling revenues had large populations, singling out Nigeria with 206 million, Algeria with 43 million and Angola with 33 million.

The report suggests that these countries should be helped to diversify their economies and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

Such assistance would reduce the risk of instability and social unrest, as well as help to curb rising temperatures, it says.

PoliticsRe: Army: We Are Now Ready For Criticisms From Nigerians by Litmus: 3:40pm On Feb 11, 2021
Criticism Number One:

I criticize Nigeria Army for being bullied into doing police work. Doing police work may have saved countless Nigerian lives but this short term benefit has lead to grater loss of life, due to societal break down, since a modern Nation without functioning police force is doomed. Nigeria Army is the plaster Government used to cover a festering Nation that requires the police bandage, sorry for the tortured analogy. In any case, Nigeria needs to invest in deconstructing and reconstructing the police so that it is fit for a Nigeria that has lost its innocence due to modernity. The army facilitates the underinvestment of the police force and the damage of its own military reputation by being unable to fulfill the mandate of police work for which it is unsuited.

PoliticsRe: Are Humans Naturally Evil Or Good? (Video evidence) by Litmus:
IamPlato:
No, evil is a choice... Evil is created in the mind... We are not programmed to do evil... If you call evil a natural order then we were programmed to so evil and we have no control of stopping ourselves from doing it but no... Evil is a choice not an automatic process.

Evil is not like hunger whereby if you don't eat food for a long time you will die.

If evil is a natural order then there would be no law to kill people who kill others because everyone will come to the conclusion that they are born that way and it's their right to kill, just like the way Americans have made homosexuality look good and norm
For the sake of simplicity, let us just use the term evil and good the way majority of humans use it. Nature dose not automatically mean good or evil.
Humans differ, it would seem for now, from other animals by our ability to make choices. However, there are just as many humans born with a predisposition towards what we call Evil as there are humans born with a predisposition towards Good. Human societies are largely dysfunctional because of the struggle between this dichotomy.

IamPlato:
If evil is a natural order then there would be no law to kill people who kill others because everyone will come to the conclusion that they are born that way and it's their right to kill, just like the way Americans have made homosexuality look good and norm
Evil does not always seek death just as good does not always seek life; good and evil seek to survive. What path of the dichotomy best ensures the survival of the human species informs Human societies. Right now it seems as if those qualities that we may list under good inform societies; however, the qualities that we may list under Evil may be what inform future human societies as possibly determined by the Right or the Left.

IamPlato:
Basically everything that man does that breaks the natural order can be seen as evil
Man and all that man does is part of the natural order. That wich we term Evil is part of the natural order intrinsic in the dichotomy that seems to underpin existence.
PoliticsRe: Are Humans Naturally Evil Or Good? (Video evidence) by Litmus: 12:27pm On Feb 11, 2021
Depends what you mean by evil or how one looks at it. For instance, you could say the foundation of evil is killing, i.e the act of Life taking by living predatory animals and yet dieses are mostly caused by microscopic life. In relation to man, killing is genetic and informed by survival. As an example, place a crawling baby in a pen with a safe rabbit or toy, the first thing baby does is hit toy or rabbit or pick them up and place them in his or her mouth. Thus if you are one that sees killing as foundation of evil, then you could say man is born evil. On the other hand you could say the need to survive is the root of all evil.

Philosophically – for want of a better name- you could posit that since existence is marked by a dichotomy, what we consider or term evil is part of the nature of one part of the dichotomy.

If I had anything to do with polices for Nigeria, I’d guarantee his hope is realized by blacklisting him and his likes so that they never touch foot in Nigeria ever again. He isn’t the lucky one; millions of Nigerians are the lucky ones to be rid of his worthless hide. He was of no value to Nigeria and could be of no value for he is obviously thick. And as I’ve pointed out often, white people are not overawed by praising them, which is what he is indirectly doing by insulting Nigeria. Whites would smile but inside they would see him as a treacherous and untrustworthy. They would be thinking that he is immoral, shallow, unheroic and selfish, the type of individual that is of no potential help to humanity or individuals except self. They would be wondering how it is possible that any individual wanting a foreign country to help him could be so callous as to reveal that he is unwilling to help others. They would profile him as a potential terrorist material ready to turn against Ireland should conditions for him become unfavorable instead of the type that would hang around to help make things better if not for himself and others then others.

Negotiating with criminals like these is a bad idea, short and long-term, however one looks at it beyond the first casual sentimental relief. The only exception I can think of is if the State or Nigerian authorities, involved in such negations, present the criminals long jail terms instead of execution for handing in weapons and renouncing banditry.
PoliticsRe: Sulaimon Olooru: Police Are Clueless About Handling Killer Fulani Herders by Litmus:
Oddly enough police in the UK act similarly. Nigerian police receive training from the British, including doctrinal I expect. When called in situations where arms are involved, UK police do not respond as quickly as one might hope or expect. This perception although may be the relativistic psychological effect experienced by the caller faced with a regular versus critical crime situation. It may also be that since UK police are an unharmed service, delay arises due to departmental deliberating whether the situation requires armed units response. In any case, there does appear time lag between which armed persons are presented with opportunity to flee the scene. Nevertheless Nigeria police are always armed and do not have this excuse.

Lagos toll gate is one means Lagos implemented to manage traffic and collect tax. Nigerians don't pay tax. Please pay your taxes. Toll gate also strives to create order. Nigerians have enjoyed too much freedom expressed in the form of disorderlyness. Please obey laws and go about life in an orderly manner. Is this too much to ask ?

Same Nigerians that don't want to pay at toll gate or like to climb car roof, exposing underwear, in disobedience of traffic wardens, or whatever Lagos calls them, are same ones that if given chance to travel abroad will obey every law there and even ones not asked of them and would write online to condem Nigeria for not being like abroad.

Finally, it's high time our herders acknowledge that the era of normadism is over. There are urban centres everywhere and urbanization is on the increase, even farmers are finding it less easy to find arable lands let alone cattle herders.

The government should do all it can to help the herders transition into ranching. It will cost a lot but it's worth the investment. And please don't ask any state government to donate land. There's enough tension in the air, we don't want another RUGA bruhaha.
Thank you.

Apart from enriching the owner, it seems to me Niaraland is of no value to Nigeria when, actually, if you consider its reach, influence and readership numbers, Niaraland is capable of so much more. In allowing this platform to be used for sedition, spreading hatred and encouraging conflict under the pretence that bad news sells and attracts subscribers, the owner is short-sighted. Nairaland could have been so beneficial for him as well as Nigeria that it somehow contributes to the Nation's GDP at the very least.

Nothing last forever and I hope that if Shawn still owns Niraland, which I somehow doubt, he has a change of heart and decides to do something about Nairaland so that it becomes a positively enabling place for the majority, not just Shawn’s bank, instead of the opposite, which it is now, for racists, bigots, and foreign enemies of Nigeria disguising as Nigerians to sow the seeds for civil strife and war.

But no, most Nigerians prefer self help and taking the laws into their own hands.
You are right and I've pointed this out in the past. The fact that Nigeria is without a functioning police is arguably the largest chunk of myriad problems we have. Another, is that which we inherited from our Native past when superstition was a major tenet of life. An example of how this primordial superstitious inheritance manifest itself in our contemporary society - in relation to your suggestions that Fulani call police - would be that if some Fulani had called the police, those for whom they called the police would cry loudly that the State is supporting Fulani by sending police to assists them.

This may be what happened in those cases reported on Niaraland about military supposedly fighting for the Fulani.

My experience of Igbo people is that they are smart, clever, industrious and have a deep sense of care for life both for themselves and others. They mourn death deeply, quite contrary to the ideas white people want to portray of black people which is that black people are more animalistic than other races and like animals have less sensibilities when it comes to suffering and compassion. Igbos I know would rather create a manufacturing industry out of something evented by local gifted Igbos and sell those goods abroad in order to invest in the area with earnings. I have always seen Igbos as the future of Nigeria's industrialization. I have always thought that the difference between Nigeria and the rest of Africa is that we have Igbos. Our secret weapon. In the West, they stopped relying on the good behaviour of citizens during the early 18th century as articulated in classic liberalism. Today, in the 21st Century, Nigerians appear to still have fate in human good behaviour as articulated in phrases such as, "Nigerians have black hearts", or "we Nigerian are wicked", or "which way Nigeria?". When Nigeria truly looses fate in automatic good human behaviour this will manifest itself in the Nigeria state investing in effective preventative security industry.
