RuudVanNisteroy:I get you. i understand that places like Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran etc are ancient civilisations with deep ancient knowledge but the average Nigerian isn’t asking for pedigree. Simple, empty, plastic, superficial, modern cities in the mold of Dubai world suffice. We cant even get this. |
Sometimes the thing that gets me about Nigeria city environments, the unacceptableness of the thing, is the squalor you get in all the states, in all the cities. It always amazes me how nations even more impoverished than Nigeria can manage to seem somewhat habitable given their circumstance in the form of wars, poverty and what not and yet comparable places in Nigeria can seem nightmarish by contrast, uninhabitable even at a crunch. See war-torn Afghanistan as an example: https://www.bidunyahaber.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/DOlxhWSWAAEHO5G-696x560.jpg https://www.nationsonline.org/gallery/Afghanistan/Abdul-Rahman-Mosque-Kabul.jpg No place in Nigeria should look as bad as those images of Aba market, places in Lagos and all over Nigeria often posted on Niaraland. These issues go beyond corruption; these are issues of rank ignorance and the simple inability of too many of those in position of power in Nigeria. Technological innovations and mechanism to build them in quantities is difficult, symmetrical cities, pavements, roads, trees and maintaining them –essentially the business of bricks and mortar is not. |
Actually, I am convinced Nigeria is an internet social media test case for some individuals or groups in the West studying the potential of internet as a means of affecting societies and Nations in the world. Nigeria wouldn't be the only one, of course, as there would be other nations too being studied and experimented on. The amount of crap Nigerians are being bombarded with Is astonishing, taking advantage of the ignorance of the great masses of Nigerians in relationship to the fact majority of them have access to the web via mobile phones but limited by data. This situation whereby majority of Nigerians can only get limed information due to limited data enables outsiders to comfortably and fully brainwash them unchallenged. This is the true evil. |
wiggle:Are you kidding me, lol? Sometimes it's as if Nigerians are being psychologically worked on to make them feel worst than the rest of the world when Nigeria is way better than in much of the instances they are being made to feel bad about. You should see crimes that happens in South Africa, man you wouldn't be able to sleep. Should I paste some? |
QuietMynd:What protesters on the ground said happened is not weightier evidence in court than what the military or police present say happened, which is why harder evidence is required. Besides of the court, what people on the ground say, caries more weight since due to lessons of history people tend to distrust authorities. Best evidence would be dead bodies in addition to clear videos or and pictures of military in the act. It’s no good telling the court that 'military carried the bodies away'. As far as the court may be concerned, you may as well say UFOs carted off the bodies. The court may even believe the words of those that say they saw military cart off bodies but the court cannot act on words alone. Next best evidence would be the coming forward of relatives and friends of those killed to testify that their loved ones attended the protests and have not retuned home. In addition, doctors and nurses witness to military carting off dead bodies. Yet, you have to understand that without the bodies of those killed being made available in some way for the courts to verify, relatives, friends, doctors and nurses evidence will be circumstantial evidence at best. Circumstantial evidence dose win cases but these often remain contestable. For instance, without bodies and media evidence linking fate of bodies to military action, how does the court prove beyond reasonable doubt that someone or people that come forward to claim that their missing loved ones were killed by the military or police at Lekki are telling the truth or are not mistaken or not being paid by interested political parties? |
SpecialAdviser:Nigeria is enjoyable especially if you have money. Crime is worst abroad than in Nigeria. Nigeria is a nation approximately 200 million and it's as if every crime committed in Nigeria is put online. Rip and may the family know peace and happiness once again. |
tegafej:Because you're too short-sighted |
Nigerians also need to ask DJ Switch to donate the money she makes from these interviews, and increased earnings arising from resultant popularity, to Nigeria based charities in order to secure her legitimacy as a passionate advocate for Nigeria’s betterment. |
Nigerians need to ask themselves what is the Outcome DJ Switch wants? And is this outcome same outcome desired by those that support her actions. |
She is harming Nigeria’s democracy by laying foundation for how Nigeria's next president and party will be attacked by the opposition. |
Sadly she is doing great harm to Nigeria’s democracy. |
Is DJ Switch a Lesbian ? |
ugo4u:Indeed, I prefer America but America isn’t returning the love and chances that China, as a rising power, would be happy to work with Nigeria in developing our nascent military industry is an advantage that could make up for reluctantly turning our backs on America and their overwrought and hypocritical moral motivations. Trying to understand America without drawing upon bias go give person half-past-4 eyes and lolling tongue ![]() |
Regardless of the Tucano deal outcome,Nigeria needs to work militarily with China. America is unreliable. |
Fortunately Nigerians can protect themselves from these Social Media empowered Lies by making Evidence one of their principle. |
Africans really need to Stop Lying. Lies are very destructive and undermining of all aspect of development and progress. Sure, actual truths and lies are relative, but there is Near Objective Truths! We need truths in order to understand our position in life so that we can make the most useful changes we can and the right mental state goes a long way in enabling us to make the best change. Lies impacts negatively on mental states and I guess this is the senses in witch lies are being used on Nigerians by her enemies. |
Good idea. We know what to do in Nigeria but we are not organised and we are not disciplined or persevering. Nigerians are overall a tolerant lot if a little moany, so it should be easy to satisfy them. Governing Nigeria and providing the bare minimum such as running water, paved roads, electricity and security is not difficult. Our politicians simply don’t know how to go about doing so, they are not wicked. Their fight to govern or hold on to power is sometimes informed by brutality, skulduggery and such, yes. They’re lazy, unimaginative and novices in the act of governing, which is why we need institutions to teach how to govern. I’ve always wondered why Nations requires of individuals in the society all sorts of paper qualifications to prove their competence in vital professions such as medicine, endangering architecture, pluming, gas fitting, electronics but requires no form of professional qualification to lead a country. |
You're part of the problem if you Hate your country for such trivial reasons. |
Chimok:Especially true if the Igbos, Yoruba’s, Houser’s etc continue to express themselves in the usual and retrogressive tribalistic tones with which we have become familiar. The major tribes of Nigeria are an embarrassment to all of us progressives and surly do test our goodwill. |
The rocket pic attributed Ethiopia is Chinese and the pic attributed Nigeria does not represent the current state of Nigeria rocketry, Nigeria has more developed ones. Like I say, lies and exaggerations play a huge role in the demonisation of Nigeria without which Nigeria would be several notches further along in progress than it is now. Lies does Nigeria great harm both a home and in international reckoning. #endlyingnow |
Right now majority are going to start lying to themselves that this is what passes for court in Gombe, Nigeria and the black man, instead of what it may represent, witch is some dilapidated building being used by some locals dispensing law in the best way the can under their peculiar circumstance for the time being. Perhaps it is in a the village predominantly inhabited by Muslims, they have a plethora of traditional and Islamic methods of dispensing judgment and that these may rest largely on informal understandings, underscored by sharia and that much of the community view the formal law as an imposition that they have to tolerate … |
Nigerians shouldn’t join in the mockery of things Nigeria on Social Media because your jobs in Nigeria, to a greater extent than many Nigerians understand, depend on supporting your Nigerian brand. While it is in the Nigerian nature to praise things from other African nations because you understand the importance of supporting Africa, unfortunately much of our African neighbors are primitive, they are largely interested in undermining Nigeria instead of outsiders from Europe and Asia that deride them as Africans. The black fight is now no longer about asserting Africa on the world stage it has become more about attacking Nigeria in a multitude of ways. Nigerians need to look out for their own interest; no one has your backs but you alone. Support Nigerian musicians pioneering Nigerian tunes don’t support those that are copying reggae, dancehall, Soul, rap and such, because some international producers are trying to get Nigerians to buy their brand instead of Nigerian ones because Nigeria is a large market. Beware for thing are no longer as simple and straightforward as you may believe. |
Niaralanders are argumentive lot just for the sake of it, same ones urging southerners not to join the army, due to Bokoharam successes, are same ones complaining Northerners are monopolising recruiting into army. ![]() Nigeria is not worth dying for you guys kept writing or texting Soldiers, only fools join the Nigerian army, run for your lives you told them, and many of you celebrated desertions..... Another cause of Nigeria's problems I've identified, is shortsightedness and short-termism: sacrificing long term success on the altar of immediate gratification. |
