EducationRe: The Pathetic State Of The First Primary School In Nigeria -video by Litmus: 11:53pm On Dec 30, 2020
travelwaka:
This is the first primary school in Nigeria. The cradle of education in Nigeria.

Its however sad that it has been left unattended to. I do not like posting negative reviews but this is sad. It would cost almost nothing to maintain these buildings.

Anyways What do you think about the first primary school in Nigeria. It was built in 1843 as the Nursery of Infant School which was later renamed as St. Thomas Anglican Nursery and primary school by Rev. Golmer of the Church Missionary Society (CMS).

It is a missionary school and is still in existence till date.

However it has a new and modern building attached but why would they leave the old building to rot away?

What do you think?

Op my guess is that the old school is being maintained. I say this because your vid showed newer school buildings. Since the old school blocks were left and their parameters swept, this suggests maintenance of a kind going on. See, in order to keep the old school authentic and of historic interest, they have to preserve as much of the old structure and building material as they are able or else we would be left with a bit of a Triggers Broom paradox. See Triggers Broom below.

In short, if they fixed the roof, redid the walls, put doors and windows you will end up with new school buildings not a historic artifact of a school.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Litmus:

Whenever Nigerian soldiers are killed, I feel happy. Whether he is igbo, igala, hausa or yoruba, it doesn't Matter, all I know is that he is a Nigerian soldier. And long may their deaths in active service continue.

Unpatriotic? Nah.

There is nothing patriotic about killing young & old people in lekki, osogbo, oyigbo, zakibiam, odi, etc, just because you have a gun, and they don't have a gun. The Nigerian soldiers aren't serving the Nigerian people, their loyalty is to the politicians and their Generals. So if they get killed, that's karma doing its thing.

Patriotism is to the people, and not to the 1% bringing destruction on the 99% .

And my hope is that, the soldiers who shot at unarmed young people during the Endsars protest and in other places, will somehow meet their match in bokoharam or some new terrorist outfit, then we will see how brave and brutal they really are.

In the end, Nigerians will end Nigeria, at the right time. The politicians cannot continue using their soldiers and legal terrorists to keep the average Nigerian docile and psychologically impoverished.
What is your definition of docile? I ask because I doubt that if you took to the streets of several world cities and asked people randomly, 'out of Kenya, South Africa, Mozambique, Egypt, Nigeria', and someplace else of your choice, 'whose nationals would you consider the most docile?’ I doubt anyone would mention Nigeria. I doubt anyone in the world with an iota of exposure would consider Nigerians a controlled and subdued people.

Are you even Nigerian to say a thing like that?

And actually my guess would be that, right now, if you’re in Africa but not in Nigeria or South Africa you’re sitting and enjoying the hospitality of a West African nation whose people are the most docile in Africa contemporarily.

Please people forgive me for laughing, grin grin grin (I’m laughing bitterly) it’s just that I read, and I don’t know if this was fake, but inspector of police in Nigeria stating that one of his officers was killed, beheaded and eaten in the bush by some Nigeria miscreants’.

PoliticsRe: Reps To Legalise Use, Sale Of Cannabis In Nigeria by Litmus: 12:46pm On Dec 30, 2020
If Nigeria legalizes Cannabis, Neighboring African nations will grow them at an industrial scale and sell them to you Nigerians, turning swaths of jobless youths into useless zombie like addicts and psychopaths. And I know your African neighbors will do a good job of growing them since they are only prolific when it comes to the Evil Negative Industries such as selling small arms, organizing theft of your cattle that result in the killing of your farmers, women and children in the process; spreading fake news from their troll houses etc. they’ll also be good at it because some Western nations will invest heavily since there is a history of making good profit by turning black people into drug addicts. And, no, Cannabis isn’t benign and harmless.

Actually you don’t deserve insults, my apologies. You’re wrong though but I wont argue, arguing is pointless.

All Nigerian misdoing goes online in order to create the impression of Nigeria as Crime ridden thus creating in the minds of visitors and investors that it is safer to visit and invest in other West African nations. Those that are behind this either try to deceive Nigerians that what they are doing is highlighting crime in order to force authorities to combat them or deceive Nigerians that it is opposition politics.

All well-meaning Nigerians need to address these Social Media attack on Nigeria’s image. If you don’t care about jobs for you then care about your children’s future.

1. Soyinka and every other Nigerians are paying for the loan, therefore, PMB is not doing us a favour.

2. In 1984, Buhari, as Head of State, cancelled the Metro rail line initiated by PA Jakande. Therefore, I will not celebrate the recklessness of 84 which he has come back to rectify even at a much higher human and capital costs. SW would have been better linked and developed via several rail networks.

3. Buhari is only paying back the debt he owed Lagos.

-Osu amaka

With night buses, an estimation of 7,000 ibos are ferried to Lagos, and 10,000 to other parts of SW on a daily.
With train, half the population of SE would most likely overcrowd the entire SW region.

I therefore suggest that the State's houses of Assembly propose an immigration law with a strong provision to possess and rename two of any SE states as an Annex to SW as a relief for both economic and infrastructure overburden on the SW region.

-Osu amaka
A Nigerian problem spotted. In order to begin the process of reclaiming Nigeria, we need to be rid of bigoted individuals like these along with roadside muck, Illegal structures, open gutters and overhead cables.

The protest also showed that the empires of so called Nigerian Billionaires from the Southern Part of the country will go down after their demise because of the emotional and intellectual stupidity of their children to be able to project into the future.
When the protest was prolonged, I wrote here on Nairaland that it was more of a class struggle. A class struggle between traditional and customary socialists(poor people with entitlement mentality) and risk taking, ambitious capitalists ( politicians (Politics is a business in Nigeria ) and every other wealthy person at the top). That's Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto playing out real life in Nigeria.

I really wished DJ Cuppy's father and Davido's father lost at least one valuable company asset each to the hoodlums who burnt and looted people's sweat. I also wished the reform made the IG withdraw Police escorts from their families so that Kidnappers would relate with them well.

I'm barely 21 and I know my generation is very stupid , senseless , idiotic and copy copy generation. A very foolish generation ravaged by herd mentality.

People who continued #endsars protests after the disbandment of SARS were very very dumb idiots.
Lazy, jobless motherfuckers with no proper source of income. Thugs , hoodlums and prostitutes without vision.

Quote me anywhere.
Precisely the point: smart people build business over years; dumb people pull them down overnight. Since dumb people outnumber the smartest, progress is measured by how the dumbest people go about their lives.
Nairaland GeneralRe: What Lessons Have You Learnt In 2020? by Litmus:
Lessons from Lagos riot (SARS protest):

Envisage a straight line along which the world’s nations rest. . The most successful nations are not those whose talented and brilliant citizens pull them up above the line of nations but those whose dumbest nationals pull them less below the line of Nations. Since perfection is high and unachievable it could be said that nations are not risings yearly or every decade but are merely keeping in tandem with what they should expectedly attain developmentally yearly or every decade. Some nations only give the impression of rising because the developmental goals of nations around them are relatively stymied. These nations falling behind create the illusion that some nations are speeding ahead. In short, the dumb and not the smart determine a nation’s progress.

PoliticsRe: What Do You Think A Young Nigerian Must Have To Endure The Nigeria Of Today by Litmus: 9:06pm On Dec 27, 2020
If your hope for a materialistc future seems impossible at this point, forget you and think of others. Find, build, hire a kiosk and distribute free food to those worst than you. The size and scope only has to equal what you can give. Even if just a handful of food to two people, old or young, as s starting point. Call your charity by your name and ask people to donate money to help you grow your Name's One Free Meal A Day Charity. Also those poor people that come for free food should donate a small amount of money if if they can or help in some other way.

Do something like this and your hope for a materialistc future will start becoming a possibility.

However all of this is by the way, if your purpose for the thread is really about a political debate on Nigeria as an entity and all that boring ipob, Oduduwa, PDP, Niaraland staple.
PoliticsRe: What Do You Think A Young Nigerian Must Have To Endure The Nigeria Of Today by Litmus: 8:44pm On Dec 27, 2020
Any young Nigerian that views Nigeria as a place to endure instead of a place to help build is a disgrace to Nigeria, an embarrassment and an indictment on Nigeria's education and soccio political system.

I'm in my 30's now but in my youth I lived in abject poverty. There was never a day that I did not wake up thinking of how to improve the lives of everyone I knew as well as the area and community.

PoliticsRe: They Asked Us To Say Bokoharam Kidnapped Us by Litmus: 5:37pm On Dec 25, 2020
Psychology is one hell of a thing. Poster of article wanted some of you to read into the supposed interview what he wanted you to read into it and some is you did. Truth is, if some group of people kidnapped you and others, you're not going to know who they are. They will tell you who they are or tell you anything and if you are freed you will tell authorities or news people - if it makes news- what the kidnappers told you that they are.

Some of you even saw pinching of interviewee and took this to mean whatever suited your presuppositions. I saw no pinching. If pinching took place, it could have taken place for any manner of reasons including ' don't talk too much'. Not talking too much dose not automatically mean conspiracy of silence over false narrative we made up or were asked to say but are not saying correctly. It could mean we were asked not to give interviews , why are you giving interviews? It could be directive not to grant interviews because media will quote what we say out of context.

Not a very smart move considering even black people in America disdain actual Africans. Just wear their suit instead of rubbing your culture all over their faces. Just imagine it was an Indian wearing the Dhoti. Or a Chinese or Kenyan wearing their traditional clothing to an inaguration for a public office outside their borders, wouldn't he seem very ridiculous to you?

Unless it is an international body such as IMF, WHO, FIFA etc, it makes absolutely no sense
Nah, black people in America shouldn’t disdain actual Africans. Indian wearing Dhoti would be annoying since they are JJC's. People taken from Nigeria have been in America since the beginning of America as we know it. No one would begrudge Chinese or Kenyan wearing their traditional clothing to an inauguration for public office although the Kenyan would look silly since their traditional clothing are mostly barely evolved from loin cloths as in the days of Tarzan and Jane.
