illiterate Lagos is the . worst city in the world to live in. GDP in Nigeria is highly inflated because the projects are highly inflated with corruption. In every statistics in Africa Lagos come last. Two out of three people in Lagos live in slums . One thing with my Nigerian people they like to fool themselves to show they are big but in reality they are illiterate. Human development index Nigeria is 156 country in the world hunger Nigeria is 7 country in the world. Take a trip to order African cities you will know Lagos State is a toy. 70% of Nigerians in other African countries are in legal and refugees. If he does not feel good why do more Nigerian spend on education in Ghana than in Nigeria why do Nigerian spend more on education in South Africa than in Nigeria. Nigerian spent more on healthcare in Ghana and South Africa done in Nigeria so where is the GDP. The GDP of Nigeria is abroad they count Nigerian properties abroad they count Nigerian houses in other countries and add it to the GDP does it make sense. How can you count a house which is owned by Nigerians in America and add it to the Nigerian GDP. Nigeria has dropped out of 10 countries in Africa to invest in Lagos is now the 15th city in Africa to invest in
I want figures by experts as evidence not your opinions, until then I maintain you need to be more ashamed of your Ghana not boastful of it. Imagine an entire nation Ghana outperformed by one Nigerian city, Lagos. Shame.

See disparaging comments from haters because it is news from Igboland. If it were to be in their ethnic zone, they would shamelessly be chestbeating and saying sh*t like "Proudly omoluabi"...but now it is in Enugu, it is poor architecture but meanwhile, their parents are still living in brown-roofed clay houses near rocks and caves where this kind of structure will take 600 years to come to be built in their zone.
Igboland is Nigerialand. Wherever in Nigeria fantastic things stands, it makes majority of us proud. PoliticsRe: Segun Oduyemi: How To Make The EndSARS Movement Work by Litmus:
AnonPoet:
I come from a very troubled generation. A generation troubled by the same system that ought to pacify it. The recurring tradition of abysmal governance and failed political leadership in Nigeria driven by self-interest and other primordial considerations, which take priority over that of young people is deeply troubling. Beyond the immediate demands to #EndSARS and #EndPoliceBrutality by youths is a stronger burden to END a system that suffocates young dreams and brings to naught every attempt to attain the ideal Nigeria.

But the notion that protests alone can bring about that ideal Nigeria, is illusory.

Hence, I am proffering my unsolicited advice (backed by historical lessons) on how we can make the #EndSARS become an efficient tool for rescuing our generation from this unending choke position.

Firstly, campaigns that succeed should be flexible and less predictable. For the #EndSARS campaign to become more resourceful, more innovative tactics besides long marches, graffiti inscriptions, and hoisting of placards need to be inculcated to help the cause. The movement needs to (re)invent new maneuvers capable of incapacitating the system through shock and disruption

Secondly, the campaign must show unity and resilience in the face of inevitable repression and other hydra-headed challenges. This can only be achieved with a solid organizational and leadership structure that imbibes and maintains discipline through and through. If resilience is lost in the movement, it definitely will be at risk of being paralyzed by inaction or fractured by differences.

Thirdly, the campaign needs a wider and diverse reach that is sustainable over a long period. For it to be taken very seriously and inferred some legitimacy, It must gain the support of all age brackets, class distribution, ethnicity, and religious orientations of the country. Sadly enough, with the #EndSARS movement, there seem to be very strong lines of distrust between young people from the southern and northern extracts of the country.

Lastly, a non-violent campaign cannot do well without flipping the support of those who serve the status quo. What this means is that for the movement to work, it must pull the unwavering support of the pillars that help sustain the old system. The strategy of the campaign must be worked in such a way that the religious gatekeepers, the military, business moguls, civil society, bureaucrats must declare and act in allegiance to the movement.

To finish this piece, I’ll use an anonymous quote “Victory is more dangerous than defeat“. Voicing our grievances and aspirations is no longer enough. Voting out an ineffective government is also no longer enough. Young people need to start getting fixated on the wisdom of entrenching democratic institutions and restoring confidence in Nigeria, which to me are much harder tasks. We saw in 2003 the devasting foray of the US and Britain in Iraq. There has to be a plan for what comes after.

It is upon these Sacrosanct that the #EndSARS movement must work its talk or else it will just be another series of futile exercises proceeding in endless, disorienting loops.

©️ Segun Oduyemi, Lagos Nigeria 2020
Honesty and clarity are important too. For instance, we thought #Endsars was about ending SARS not mission creep. If it had been made clear at the outset that the protest were about reforming the superstructure, reactions to the aftermath possibly might’nt have been this bad. Declaring intent to march in protest at the deplorable and dysfunctional system in Nigeria would have frightened the establishment but once they had come to terms with the facts, expectations on both sides might have been better managed.

Nigerians on all sides have a problem with honesty. No side in Nigeria is innocent because you all tell lies and fib. Nigerians used to be honest. This is why I use Litmus as my Monica on Niaraland because I realized from a very young age how important honesty is. Nowadays Nigerians even tell lies when they are being honestly negative about themselves.

Nigeria needs more ordinary men and women like him. Nigerians need to be more disciplined and responsible and more actions like his will help bring this about. Any reasonable person will support protests and I’m confident, just as I did and still do, many support police reform protests. What we can’t have are looters and rioters. #endsars made a great deal about not having leaders, many independent observers could sympathise with their reasons, I did, and maybe for the wrong reason it’s lucky that they did since now individuas like the plaintive pictured will find it difficult to succeed in an individual or class action against #endsars.

If funds where collated in an activity that caused widespread chaos in the country, loss of lives of security officials, looting and widespread destruction of Goverment and non Goverment properties .The accounts MUST be FROZEN,and investigated pending when the organizers can prove beyond reasonable doubt their actions were not sponsored by the enemies of the State

That said anyone saying the organizers should not be investigated is an unserious clown. At this stage they should be praying to avoid serious prosecution cause I am sure no police gave them approval to gather and protest where they did,so their protest Abinitio was unlawful

Understand this, by using that venue (a major access road)their protest was never peaceful from the onset,it was malicious and designed to cause the breakdown of law and order. If the Goverment decides to make examples of them to forestall such in future, the Goverment is well within its right.

That said fingers crossed.we all are watching closely

It is possibly more worrisome than this, may i sugest that Unsophisticated Minds left behind by a sophisticated world that, worst, is yearly accelerating in sophistication is possibly nearer the mark? These Nigerian monarchs, kings, traditional rulers etc are national assists that Nigerians don’t seem to recognise. Nigeria could earn millions from tourism by investing in them. Interested and capable parties could draw from the past to rebuild the palaces of some of these Kings in ways that actualise the African style the palaces were meant to be but that our ancestors couldn’t quite achieve back then because they did not posses current architectural capabilities and materials. In short, we rebuild the palaces with modern cemetery and imaginings of the ways they may have improved over time and looked now in modern times had we not been colonised.

Investors of the scheme, in addition to the traditional rulers and people of the area, could recoup the cost in fees charged to tourists.

The same America where there was massive looting during the BLM protests of George Floyd. Same lootings during the Mike Brown police killing protests and massive Baltimore looting of another black man killed by police. Keep deceiving yourself with your America hate looters narrative. We are talking about fundamentally changing Nigeria, this one is talking about American visa and who America will take in for asylum, would America be able to take even %5 of Nigeria 200 million population? At least Nigerians were looting primarily food but the Americans were looting liquor, clothes, sneakers, television etc.
Keep watching and you'll see that in the coming month some of these people will make their way to Europe claiming that their lives are in danger from Nigerian authorities due to authorities suspecting that they took part in activities related to the demonstrations. And, though you dispute it, the overriding belief of those that will try this, is that the West looked in sympathy and concern at their plight in Nigeria. But contrary to their belief, and yours it would seem, nations of the West will disregard their own asylum policies, they will look on the migrants as yet another set of people trying to get into Europe. And in the very highest levels, officials will be worrying that these people claiming that they are fleeing Nigeria because of possible reprisals, will be potential trouble makers if let into europe. Someone like DJ Switch, or whatever she is called, will stand better chance of asylum if she wanted it. The rabbles out there stand no chance, especially with all those looting, burning and killing last week.

...the point is not that the looters are dying to get to Europe but that many believe in the back of their minds that the rest of the world is with them. I used immigration in order to show how in a practical way this is not the case.

Instead of countering him with valid points and rational deductions , you resulted to name calling which is typical of people bereft of any intellectual contribution to a discourse .
In regards to the bold, I feel that people are just too tired of writing. I know that I am.

I believe the majority agree with Covert’s Bidden assessments, they’re mostly hoping that a president Bidden administration would take a more favourable approach as far as Nigeria’s interest are concerned, ether actively or by omissions. It is possibly Covert’s assessment of Trump that many here find disagreeable. Personally I think the best thing Trump did for Africa was abandoning Africa. We did not merit his consideration in his warped philosophy and this indirectly advantaged Africa. Trump would sell us top of the line nuclear submarines with their full assortment of arsenal if he thought America would benefit financially from the transaction and we could gain nothing from the technology, other powers could not get their hands on the tech and we could only destroy ourselves and Africa with the missiles. In Trump, Africa was safe from destructive Liberal didacts. It is telling though that when Trump did consider Africa, the consequences for Africa were mostly unfavourable. I mean his racists pronouncements and immigration policies. However, these were the overt considerations.

I mentioned Telling earlier because it seems that, taking into consideration Obama/Biden Nigeria policies and Trump’s (the few times Trump considers Africa) US policies towards Africa have been negative. In short, there seems to be a negative trend in US Africa policies generally.

Kidnappers used the same trick in the early days in Delta. Militants used kidnapping of oil workers as part of thire strategy against the government. Soon opportunists exploited this, kidnapping oil workers for personal profit but hiding under militancy. From oil workers to anybody with money, then to anybody. This was how industrial scale kidnapping overtook Nigeria.

No, it will not. As long as Nigeria practices liberal democracy or any form of political ideological rule, there will be dissension regardless of how well the country is run in the views of majority international objective and independent observers.

What we need in Nigeria is a culture of political critiquing that focuses on governance, party polices, aims achievement, superstructure etc but that does not insult, abuse or threaten Nigeria and Nigerians.

One difficulty for Africa and blacks generally, in relation to white liberals, is their dictatorial tendencies. They know what is best for you Africans. It seems to me that white liberals do not make the effort necessary to consider issues from a wider African/black perspective than that which motivates them. The Democrats under Biden, if they concern themselves with Nigeria in the first place, will pursue policies that they believe, if that even, are progressive for Nigeria even if it destroyed us. I am convinced that had Liberal Hillary Clinton lead America instead of Trump, rumours she let Nigeria finically influence her not withstanding, Libya would be Nigeria’s fate now. In addition to Biden’s liberalism, is vice president kamala Harris whom we Nigerians would do well to view as Indian and not black. Her influences on the administration, domestically and internationally, will be India/Asia centric not black, African and certainly not Nigerian. She will be the main danger for Nigeria in the administration. Hopefully gridlocked Congress will undermine any duplicitous polices towards Nigeria couched as enabling.

Considering the message you're trying to convey, not a very thoughtful question since mankind originated in Africa.

Asia, South America and Europe did not change mankind as much as mankind changed these places. In orther words much of that which took place in Europe, Asia and the Americas would have happened in Africa in addition or in conflict with much that took place in Africa. Consequently, either mankind destroyed itself or mankind would be more advanced than it is now.

Taking into consideration the different species of hominids that became extinct outside Africa in addition to those that became extinct in Africa, some of them leaving thire genes in Morden humans, why Africa would have been a dynamic place. Today Africans might have become multi-planetary.
