coogar: don't be daft ......Speaking of daft, please refer to the point on cashless policy. Alhaji is very daft to be carrying GMG bags out of a bank. You initially spoke of carrying 500k in GMG (even more daft as I don't see how 500k will require GMG bag). And once again you obviously don't know the MO of armed robbers. Standing at the entrance of a bank? Do you know how much harassment you get just by parking close to a bank not to talk of hanging around the entrance. Dude, you have no clue. coogar: it rhymes with the cash-less policy as the 5000 note would effectively reduce the volume of currency in circulation! 1 X 5000 note = 25 X 200 notes. 200 notes of currency is more than one note. contrary to what you think, you are actually shooting yourself in the foot!Further speaking of daft, what proof do you have that 5k note would ACTUALLY reduce the volume of currency in circulation? Dude, did your brain fall out or what? So you are saying just by introducing 5k notes, every single transaction will be done with 5k notes? |
coogar: can i carry 5 bundles of 100k on me without attracting the eyes of hoodlums? which is easier to carry around, 1 bundle of 500k or 5 bundles of 100k?You must be naive if you think hoodlums know you are carrying money just by staring at you. There is no robbery without information. Meaning they must have been tipped off (either by an employee of the bank or somebody present as you collected the money or the person you are paying the money to). In any case, I don't see how this policy rhymes with the cashless policy. It's like speaking from both sides of the mouth. The 5k note simply encourages people to carry larger amounts of cash which they normally wouldn't due to bulk. I for one have never carried any amount of cash larger than 100k. Anything beyond that, I do a transfer. |
coogar: i can work with this piece r i wouldn't need a ghana-must-go bag to transport half a million naira anymore.Half a millon is 500k. That's 5 bundles of 100k. If u need a GMG bag for that, I posit your bag is filled with old newspapers. |
PhysicsQED: Damn. Definitely a military man.It is folly to think your child will follow your every instruction. |
buchibabe: Her dad is right. Pple hv to be careful wit all dis so called unknown social network friends .before u give out certain personal and important info, ensure dat its someone u know well. In as much as I feel so bad about dis cruel murder,I want to agree wit her dad once more that its stupid of anyone to hv gone dat far wit pple they barely knowThe standard should be to treat strangers you meet on Social Networks the same way you treat strangers you meet everyday on the street. The only thing Social Networks do is give a false sense of familiarity before actually meeting. You should forget all the gist you had online and treat your meeting them as if you actual just met (which you just did anyway). |
khaleesi: ..an open placeThat is the only acceptable place I expect a stranger (especially female) to meet for the first time. Except the whole story isn't being told, or the lady is not very security conscious I will not expect her to meet in a hotel room. And I am sure the reason most women will not even meet a stranger in a hotel room is r@pe; not even murder. |
kettykin: This is worst than having the Cocoa Heaquaters in Calabar a city which is a cocoa producer but not neccessarily a major producer or having Coal corporation in Ibadan which has no coal deposit.LOL @ ignorance. So Lagos is not an oil producing state? How many times are we going to inform you unteachable lot? |
LOL. People wey the first bicycle to reach their village was post 1960 dey question why it is believed Madam Kuti was the first female to drive a car in Nigeria? I no blame una o. Na people wey make cars available to every mugu. They should've made is an exclusive club. ![]() |
Wow. I didn't think they'd get anything out of this. Well, I expect Samsung to appeal. |
SamAfrik: After we presented our IDs, those cops became friendly and asked us if we were Igbos and that are they (Igbos)the Nigerian tribe selling drugs in SA. We politely revealed we were Yorubas and also told them its difficult fasely link drugs to Igbos (a lie). You see, that is why the ostrich defense being adopted here is laughable. The South African people have begun to distinguish between Nigerians. I heard Kenyans have begun to do the same. It is better the hardworking and honest Igbos fight this menace giving them a bad name. |
Decryptor: The deceased is from the east, she went to meet her assailants in Lagos which is in the west...add two and two and you'll know where the killers are coming from. I no mention any tribe oThe above quote is from the thread on the murder of Cynthia Osokogu. Notice how the poster inferred that the criminals were Yoruba until their ethnicity was confirmed to be Igbo. Now, did the moderators intentionally put that thread on the front page because they knew the criminals were Igbo? |
This article contains Banjo's "defense" during the kangaroo trial that found he and others guilty of treason: http://nationalmirroronline.net/features/6212.html Note what he said below: That the troops were in no condition to fight because they could not be controlled anymoreThis corroborates the experience and narrations of the Benin residents. Banjo was leading a very unruly bunch. They were mostly untrained or poorly trained "soldiers". When a force lacks discipline (thereby becoming uncontrollable) it can no longer be called a "military force". And to make matters worse their target of reaching Lagos was unattainable. It was an operation doomed to failure. As had been claimed, if the target was to seize Gowon and thereby put an end to the war (I doubt even that would work), what was needed was a light commando force to land via the sea, make their way to Dodan Barracks or where ever Gowon could easily be picked up and then make a quick escape with their target in a bag. Making their way through land and with a force of untrained goons (who were more interested in killing and mistreating civilians and looting than their jobs) which wasn't even large enough to maintain a hold on the conquered territories as they made their way to Lagos does not make strategic sense, speaking militarily. |
It's becoming more difficult to share Ghana-Must-Go bags filled with 1000 Naira notes. I think 5000 notes will greatly help the Senate and House of Assembly. |
The scoreline doesn't tell the true story. IF ONLY Messi had not been so wasteful. |
Maxxme: C. Ronaldo become d 1st Real Madrid player to score 4 consecutive goals at Nou campThanks to Busquets. |
Decryptor: The deceased is from the east, she went to meet her assailants in Lagos which is in the west...add two and two and you'll know where the killers are coming from. I no mention any tribe oMugu, you added 2 and 2 and got 22 didn't you? Well, read the below. Or simply use your eyes to locate the part highlighted in bold. nikkykay: This is a true life story. |
livapul86: Sir, you've made some insightful analysis. But I want to assure you that they're Killers in this country that don't really require a motive to make a kill. The Thrill of a Kill is Enough for them. The fact that law enforcement agencies haven't labelled anyone a Serial killer doesn't mean they don't exist. This is not the MO of serial killers. Serial killers don't rob. They ONLY kill. These ones appear to only kill to cover their tracks after a robbery. |
nikkykay: This is a true life story. Ayodele AkandeWhat was the id!ot that posted this list up to? |
