Politics › Re: Remove GEJ & Prepare For War – Dokubo Asari Warns North by logica(m): 10:45am On Aug 07, 2012
jp philips: with a 12mins broadcast, the freeest and fairest election backed by a majority populace of over 100million at the time was wished away and nothing happened and you sincerely think asari has a point?

don't make me laugh
It's obvious you are in the "military"; that's why you are still living in 1993. Don't worry; when it hits you that you are in 2012 it will be too late to use a time machine to bring you to the present.

jp philips: people like mustapha and other core enemies of the Northern oligarch (fugitives and political prisoners of the military era) needs to be awakened and empowered.
they are the ones that will bring down the Northern oligarch and Boko haram by proxy (America uses Al Qaeda when absolutely necessary).
Really? So the "Northern oligarchy" is behind Boko Haram? Tell us more please.

oyb: thw whole chief okoro analogy actually sounds like something africans would do - engage in feel good philanthropy before securing the future of your own kids or even your own future or that matter
Exactly. Our own special brand of "retirement funds" combined with "trust funds" all in one. Well, these days we actually have companies like IBTC.

ceaser: And to buttress this, do you guys know that Velcro was a "spin of" off of space exploration? The first astronauts needed cloths without fumbling with putting buttons in button holes and viola! Velcro was born. So also were multi-vitamins and fertilizers.
Here is an analogy just to throw you a curve ball: A lot more innovations actually sprout from warfare: from WW1 to WW2 to the Vietnam War. Don't know about the Biafran War though. cheesy

But then, does that make war a good thing?
Politics › Re: Our Olympic Performance, A Reflection Of The Nigerian Nation by logica(m): 5:57am On Aug 07, 2012
Rossikk: You must have a large enough pool of talented sportsmen available in order to present your best to the world. You cannot have the strongest, best educated, best fed among us all shunning sports, and then expect the underclass to go and get gold for you at the Olympics. Have you ever spoken to one of these our sports officials or athletes? Most of them can hardly string a coherent sentence together. I mean, who are we fooling here? I know at least TEN guys from secondary school who were so good at soccer that had they carried on, they would have been world beaters. But what happened? They all graduated and went off to university, and are now professionals in law, engineering etc. So who are we fooling here? Until WE, the middle classes take sports seriously, do not expect those who attended Isale Eko grammar school and had no idea where their next meal was coming from, to attend the Olympics and bring home gold. Not gonna happen.
You have a slight point; but you seem to forget the purpose of having sports administrators. What are they paid for? Are they not the ones supposed to go after kids with sporting talent? Are they not the ones also supposed to support and nurture kids from deprived backgrounds?

For instance, look at the case of Kaka whose parents are well-to-do. His coach had to approach his parents to inform them of their son's rare talent. His parents were unaware! Just as in Nigeria, every other kid in Brazil can kick a ball; but it takes a coach to recognize the rare talent to further groom, and it takes a working sports administration to provide the funds to take these rare talent to the next level. He (Kaka) would of course had gone on to become a well paid doctor or lawyer without his coach convincing his parents otherwise.

Mr Adult, maybe you need to upgrade to the mindset of the kids; who apparently have more rational minds than yours.
Are you serious ? Did LG prada also looks like the first generation iPhone ? Even before his death,Jobs has always challenged samsung for stealing his idea and samsung is yet to disclaim that.
Well, Samsung must have taken the position of "prove it in court if you can". Some people don't like wasting their breathe. These revelations are just coming up in the ongoing court-case.

And yes, the overall design of even the very first iPhone did look like the LG Prada:

Steve jobs woulda sue samsung again for stealing his siri application. Bunch of thievies !
I read a compelling article that showed Samsung had designs similar to the iPhone way before the iPhone was conceived or released. Even more compelling, the iPhone design looks very much like the LG Prada. They all steal from one another.

CyberG: Funny Nigerians! What is wrong in querying about a politician's source of wealth? If he earned it, why should it be a secret so much you abuse the OP? The only reason and people who are upset about this question is tribal, they think they must protect the man from their tribe from any question! LOL...most of you deserve what you get in that country! Losers! Most big men in Nigeria milked the country in millions and billion by over-inflated contracts from corrupt governments! This is the same way Rochas, Obasanjo, Mark, General Jonzer Odevhukwu, IBB, etc got rich: by looting the patrimony of fools like you who come here to defend them!
LOL. Asking is perceived as an attack by the tribal monkeys. By default they assume the guy got rich through the usual questionable means; and they too hope to get rich through those same means.

Super1759: if you have the fake note.walk into the bank and meet the person incharge.it will be changed.if the bank is closed.meet the security man and lay the complain.he wil defend you when you come.everything that happens in bank is recorded.so the evidence that you withdrew money is there.its no case bro
OK, I will breakdown the simple logic for you. Somebody comes to the bank with let's say 2 fake 1000 bills. After withdrawing money from the ATM, he then swaps 2 of the bills with the fake bills. How can you prove this wasn't what you did?
Business › Re: Counting Your Money At The ATM: Why? by logica(m): 4:41pm On Aug 05, 2012
Super1759: if you leave the bank and come back.you have no case.but if you report to the security immediately. You will be attended to
And what do you have to prove you didn't come to the bank premises with the fake bills already on you? You see, it's just a matter of chance. You can get your money back if you are lucky.
Business › Re: Counting Your Money At The ATM: Why? by logica(m): 3:40pm On Aug 05, 2012
adefash: you complain to the bank.of cause there can be mistake on the part of the custodian, loading 500 in 1000 tray.you have to complain to the bank.there are some errors whose cause can be established.u have to count your money even if u have to step aside for others to use the atm while u count it.i'm an atm engineer and i'm speaking as a professional.no system is perfect.
You might be able to get a refund if the mistake is not a one-off error. But in most cases, it is simply a one-off (unintentional) error that will be difficult to trace (for instance four 500 notes mixed in with 1000 bills). If it is a case of large scale fraud, then it can be easily tracked.
If the circuit board is faulty, the calculator's power won't come on
You don't know what you are talking about. Not all circuit problems will be that severe. In any case, your analogy using the calculator does not make sense. The point being, the ATM is only as reliable as the people that put in the notes. If there are errors in the denominations, then it will certainly suffer errors in dispensing. And then back to the point of this thread: even though I know errors are possible, I don't bother counting because it is pointless.

spyder880: I was paid counterfeit N1000 among the N20k I was paid. I took it into the bank and the money was collected and changed quickly. Is the ATM machine an illiterate?
Exactly. The machine is mostly only as good as the people that put in the bills.

chy22: there is up to 3 cameras in an ATM machine that captures u while make transction so belive me if u are short changed u can complain to the bank and something done to it
The cameras are capturing your face and not the bills so where is the proof? And yes, I have been shortchanged before (500 bills instead of 1000 as some respondents have earlier stated).

What I find funny is, most of the respondents to this thread are males confessing their hatred for the dude. Are these guys gay or something?

EDIT: In fact, I can change the "most" to "all". Something's definitely not right somewhere.
Business › Re: Counting Your Money At The ATM: Why? by logica(m): 1:08pm On Aug 05, 2012
Danipassion: I think its advisable to count your money cos there may av been an error and mix up while (the bank staffs) selected the denominations to be used by the machine, eg. Mixing a #500 note in a tray that's meant 4 #1000 notes
Problem is, how do you prove this case to get a refund? Whether you count or not, you've been shanked.

The only problem is, the style of the house does not look like what I usually see in Ikoyi. It looks more like what you'll find in the Bariga area (or any street just off Ikorodu Road).
